'What has become of you lately?'
Tenshi's thoughts were of herself, her actions, the events that had transpired in the past few months. Everything seemed so odd...and nothing seemed to be going right. While one person might seem to be a trustworthy friend, they would turn out to be a backstabbing son of a-
Tenshi flapped her wings, shaking her head. She drifted almost lazily over the forests of Mount Paozu, hoping that somewhere in their depths held some secret, some sort of tranquility that would set her on the right path. But what was the right path?
Her brain said that she needed to find Adrien La'Moore again, rejoin the troupe. When had they become separated? Her heart, though, told her there was something she needed, something more than just the circus. There was something missing, a little hole, and she had to figure out how to fill it. Maybe a little soul searching could help, and the best place she'd heard to meditate was in the forests here. Very few people inhabited Mount Paozu, or even visited the wilder parts. While there may be predators, they should be rather easily frightened, she'd been told.
Looking down, Tenshi watched the green tops of trees waving in the light breeze. Her clothing rustled against her skin, khaki colored cargo shorts that reached her knees, a light green undershirt covered by a darker green vest. Her white socks hid most of her shin, and her feet were covered with black boots.
The Valkyrie passed over a lake, and she could see her own reflection rippling in the water. The banks seemed a likely place to land, she could reach tranquility with the water. It was clear, she could see the bottom, fish swimming, rocks sitting. It was the perfect place.
Her feet lighted on the dirt, her wings pushing sand and waving grass. They folded behind her, and Tenshi walked to the edge of the water, taking to her knees. She bent over herself, placing her hands into the water. It was startlingly cold, and her hands flinched, but she forced them in up to her wrists. She scooped out some water, splashing it against her face. The freezing liquid trickled down her face, down her clothes, and she opened her eyes. The water rippled for a few more seconds, before becoming almost still again. She could see her face, her piercingly blue eyes standing out more than anything. Her blonde hair tumbled down her shoulders, framing her heart shaped face.

Brandon was taking his usual peaceful stroll on Mt. Paozu, enjoying the fresh air ,and the sunshine. He seemed to hang around the mountain alot lately for some odd reason, maybe it was becuase less people bothered him there. NEON semeed to be leaving Brandon alone for the time being, and he decided it was about time he treated himself to a nice relaxing dip in a mountain-side pool he had seen a few days earlier.
He traveled down a mountain path he forged a week earlier, and saw something near the pool of water. He squinted, and saw wings, and he then smiled as he realized who it was.
He climbed down to the small field surrounding the pool, and leaned up against a tree. "Beautiful weather we are having no?" He asked as he grinned. It was good to see Tenshi again after parting ways after battling the two dragons.
"I never expected to run into you here Tenshi."

Well, he had arrived in a city, traveled to an island with two amusing people that he managed to get to work for him, and now he found himself in the mountains for who knows what reason. This planet wasn't as large as his home world, but it did have its own interesting features to it, the different landscapes meshing and creating the picturesque world that he was seeing now. Forests, mountains, rivers, and even deserts not too long ago, he had to admit that he liked the world that didn't have the cities or annoying people in it. Still, it seemed that his luck with finding people was good or bad depending on the perspective, given that he could sense a couple of powers nearby. Potential recruits or perhaps, they were enemies to keep an eye on in the future, he would need to meet them to find out.
Shifting his course, he dropped into the trees, swerving and evading with a practiced ease, as he homed in on the sources of the powers. As he reached them he landed on the ground and approached them slowly, he noted each of them respectively, the woman who was the far more interesting given that she had wings on her. The other one was a much less impressive looking male, though his power seemed to be higher than the woman's as well. Brown eyes shifting back and forth between them as he walked towards the lake, keeping a calm and casual appearance about him. Not that he really had anything to worry about, but it was still better to approach that way, although now that he thought about it he was somewhat hungry. It was a good thing that there was a lake nearby then, he could simply get all the fish that he wanted here.
"Hello there, what brings you to this area?" he said with a cheerful smile, walking a bit of distance between the other two wanted some space, meanwhile he looked into the water for potential targets to satisfy his hunger. Grabbing a thin piece of bark, he pulled it around his hair to keep it tightly bound behind him for his own way of fishing, his eyes studying the fish carefully and even leading each one to see where it would be within a few seconds. It was an old habit of his, hard to break it when you were born and raised as a warrior, still it did often make for some fun in predicting the habits of creatures. With his eyes focused on the fish, his ears were focused on the two people nearby in case they started talking to him.

Tenshi had become tranquil, turning off all alerts, losing herself in the reflecting pool. When Brandon spoke, he startled her. She turned toward him, weapon materializing mid-turn, putting the the tip at his throat when she made the full-body turn, standing up. It took only a second. The hair on the back of her neck was raised, though covered by the rest of her hair. When she realised who it was, she let the spear's tip fall to the ground.
"You can't go sneaking up on someon-" She was almost done speaking when she heard another voice. Tenshi instinctively flipped, wings expanding to their full width for balance. She floated above the water, toes nearly touching. 'What is with these people?' she thought to herself, as a man with silver hair showed himself. She let the spear tip fall again, but kept her wings out. She didn't know this new stranger.
When he had come out, he had spoken to them, then devoted his attention to the lake. Tenshi couldn't tell what precisely he was looking at, but she saw his eyes darting around, as if tracking something. The Valkyrie let her shoulders fall to their normal position, rather than being raised in stress.
"I was having a peaceful meditation, when this one startled me," she motioned towards Brandon with her spear. "And then you came out of nowhere." She almost asked if people knocked these days, but realised that it wouldn't have made sense. "I apologize for going into attack mode, but these woods are wild, and filled with danger. A stranger can be more dangerous than a large reptilian beast." Especially one so strong, she thought to herself. "And with that, I think I ought to return your question. This is not a place for those faint of brawn."

Brandon froze like an icicle when Tenshi was startled and brought her weapon up to his neck. She was starting to tell him that sneaking up on a person wasnt a good idea, but her attention was grabbed by a new person. He was someone he hadnt seen before, but then again, there were billions of people he hadnt met yet, so it would be a long time before he had actually gotten to know anyone yet.
When Tenshi mentioned Brandon as 'this one', he rolled his eyes. "You know my name Tenshi... Its good to see you to..." He said, looking over to the newcomer with the silver hair. He to saw that he was looking at something in the lake, tracking it. He looked at the lake himself to try and see what he was looking at, and saw the small fish in the lake.
"You like fish eh?" He said, looking to the other male. "Names Brandon, And you are?" He asked him, hoping that the man would disclose his name to Brandon. He didnt want to call a person 'hey you' especially after just meeting the guy.

It seemed the woman was a bit jumpy about her company as she not only turned her spear on the kid, but also to Alexander as well when he made his appearance. The two seemed to know each other though, which would probably make things a bit annoying in the long run, but he would see how things went. Both seemed to take an interest in what he was looking at in the water as well, the kid asking him if he liked fish, something of a silly question in terms that there would only be a few reasons for tracking them. The questions and comments enough to make him smirk at these two, the seemed to want to know an awful lot about him for just meeting, he was just curious as to what they had been here for after all.
"Well, technically, I didn't come from nowhere, I came from the trees over there. Semantics, I know, but I feel it is an important thing to note," he winked jokingly to the woman. It wasn't like he could teleport right? At least, he couldn't just yet, he would have to figure something out about that later down the road. Now it was time to answer the boy's first question to him, because it apparently it wasn't that obvious why he was watching the fist. "Absolutely, I like them fried, broiled, boiled, with lemon pepper, and a whole bunch of other ways to eat fish. Plus, they are good for you, help make you stronger and all that good stuff."
"As for me being out here, I've got plenty of brawn, so I'm not too worried about others being dangerous. Not that brawn alone decides who is dangerous or not, but also my stomach is grumbling so that's my reason," he added, eyes still darting along the trails with the fish. Whenever anything spooked them, he made sure memorize the reaction from it so that he could anticipate where they would be coming from and how to best catch them. When he was finished, he dived into the water without a hint of hesitation, managing to grab five fish from the water before returning to shore so that he could prepare them for eating.
"Name's Alex, and you miss?" he figured if names were going around, he should learn the woman's as well so that he wasn't just picking random things to call her. That would probably eventually lead to a few not so nice words after a while, and so it was better to nip that in the butt right away. Now that he was out of the water he could get to cooking the fish as well, and he grabbed five sticks lining them up in a circle. The best part was, was that he didn't need any sticks or leaves to get the job done either. With a snap of his fingers a fire appear in the center of the fish, cooking them all evenly.

"There are things out here that even cause me fear." Tenshi tried to keep the contempt out of her voice. She had come here to be alone and tranquil, not bothered by other people. But they were here, and didn't seem to be leaving. "Why would you come all this way just to hunt?"
Both Brandon and the stranger introduced himself. The newcomer called himself Alex, and asked for the Valkyrie's name as well. She was about to give a fake name, but then remembered that Brandon had just said hers, and that Alex was probably just asking to be polite. She gritted her teeth, before saying "My name is Tenshi." She was still floating about half an inch above the waters surface, and when Alex had grabbed the fish, the ripples in the water lapped gently at her toes.
The man took the fish, five he had caught, back to shore, laying them against sticks in a circle. With a snap of his finger, he produced a flame, which he put in the middle, and began cooking.
Tenshi tensed up once she saw that Alex could manifest fire out of nothing. While they did have a water source nearby, they were in the middle of a jungle, and Tenshi's feathered wings were highly flammable. The smoke was not good either, as almost anything, from predators to more people could see. She kept her mouth shut for the time being, deciding to cross her legs, and sit seven inches above the water's surface.

Brandon watched as everyone finished introducing eachother and saw that Alex had his own fire abilities and started to cook up all teh fish he had gotten. He was about to let off a chuckle but he saw how Tenshi became uneasy around the fire and tilted an eyebrow. "You alright Tenshi? Still tense from that fight in the city we had with those dragons?" He asked, as he saw the smoke was also making her uneasy for some strange reason.
"Hey Alex, Mind dosing that out? Tenshi doesnt like that..." He said, looking back to the fire that Alex had made. "If you were trying to hide from whats left of NEON Brandon, that smoke will give us away like a beacon..." He heard Verlith said, and he had a very good point.
He got up, and moved closer to where the fire was. He stared at the flames before he said an odd word "Fus" as a small burst of energy came from his mouth, as a gust of wind came from it, causing the fire to get blown out. Some fish sticks fell over, but were still fine to eat since it usually didnt take long to cook fish usually. "Someone could of seen the smoke.... There are.... Things after us, And we dont want them to find us..." He said, before he sat down on the soft grass near the water.

"There is very little on this planet that scares me," he replied with a calm tone. There was no arrogance to it, simply a matter of fact statement that there was nothing here with the ability to frighten him. There was little at all that frightened him anymore, he was far too old to worry about anything, that and his mind just seemed not to care much about any of it. "As for why I came here to hunt, because the fish are good and this is a nice clear lake where the food is fresh. Plus because I can," he shrugged. That was technically all the reason he needed to come out this way, it wasn't like she was the only one who could find this spot. If she thought that, then she was a lot more arrogant than he could have imagined. Sometimes he just couldn't understand some people, always worrying about unimportant things and never doing anything to actively solve their problems.
When the kid spoke up about the woman not liking the fire, he rolled his eyes before lifting the fish and making the sphere disappear. From there he moved to a nearby tree and began to eat the fish that he had cooked, enjoying the simple meal quite a bit. The guy was trying to act like a knight, but that was only going to wind up with him getting himself killed, especially if he went up to the wrong person. Not that it would bother him much either way, if he wanted to go around being dumb who was he to stop him. These kids seemed to think that their own needs were above those of others anyways, so there was no point trying to debate the point.
Watching the kid spit something at the ground he raised an eyebrow wondering what the hell he was doing now, these humans were a bunch of screwed in the head people, he could say that much from being around the few he'd met. Then he spoke about things being after them and that they didn't want them to find him or whatever it was, he had stopped listening fully shortly after he started talking since there wasn't much of interest to him. "You can only avoid things for so long, no point trying to run and hide from them, you want to not worry then you need to do something about them. Why not just face them?" shrugging slightly, it didn't matter what they did in the end, but he found it disappointing that so many people acted cowardly so much. It was saddening to see that people would rather run then stand up for themselves, what was the point in letting other people force you into running and scurrying like a mouse?
(Eh, not much but it's here)

Tenshi forced herself to at least look more relaxed, flapping back to the bank. She let the water lap around her bare ankles, turning towards Brandon.
"I don't know what you mean about 'us', there is nothing after 'me'. As for you," she turned towards the other man, "I suppose that is a valid enough reason. I can't expect this place to remain entirely secluded, though I can wish." She kept to herself that she would have to find a more secretive spot, to go to her alone times.
She listened to him go on about not running away from things. There was something to note of what he was saying, however, Tenshi didn't think that it applied to her, at least in this concept. There was only one thing that she tried to run away from, and that was herself. Seeing as how this was by all technicalities impossible, it was likely not pertaining to her.
"I understand your reasoning, Alex. But, there are some things you have to run away from always. Not necessarily physical things, and sometimes its better not to fight."

"Well, I dont know if it was mere coincidence that TWO dragons happened to appear when we met back in the city. And one was a fire breather..." He replied to Tenshi, as he watched her relax on the shallow waters. It was true, nothing can remain untouched forever, but Brandon wished that such a place as this truely would remained untouched. It was a great place to relax and think...Most of the time.
He looked over to Alexander as he said "Sometimes....Running away from things is overall better then facing things head on. Especially at the wrong time..." as he mumbled to himself after saying "....Like spiders....ugh.". He then looked over to Alexander, then to Tenshi.
"Dragons are getting more and more bold Tenshi. They are adapting their tactics to kill anyone who stands in their way of their goal... And we are both on their list wether you like it or not..."

Raising an eyebrow at the woman as she mentioned wishing it would have remained secluded, to which Alexander replied with a casual look around the area as if trying to find something. "As far as I can tell, it is still a secluded area from observing that it doesn't seem many people actually visit this area," just because there were three people didn't mean a location was less secluded than it was when there was just one. There weren't loots of footprints left behind by people, so it was a safe guess that they had been the only recent people out this way. Of course, he already had a knowing feeling what she had meant, but it would be much more amusing this way, simply because he was a bit bored as well. Although, none would be able to tell with the nonchalant expression that he wore while eating the fish, the only thing his body language would indicate was that he enjoyed the fish which he did since it had been a while since he ate.
Then came the discussion of having to run away from things all the time, "Really? You think that there is a reason to run? I never understood why people seem to choose to run from problems, is it really such a difficult thing to stand up and face things head on? What is it that makes you run, fear?" his tone was curious this time, and in fact, he was actually asking now. He really did not understand those that decided it was better to run from whatever it was they were running from. There hadn't been a problem that he didn't face head on, in fact even the time he spent after first leaving the planet was something that he faced head on. Not all of it was pleasantness either, but what was the point of running away? If he had done that, then his opponents for that game would have won instead, and that was an unacceptable outcome for him.
Did they really believe that running was the better solution there? He couldn't fathom how running from something was the way to deal with it, it was just the opposite as far as he could see. They weren't trying to fix the problem, but instead ignore it, which would only cause it to steadily become worse in the long run. Then again, he didn't seem to understand most of the inhabitants of this world with the exception of two, but that was neither here nor there for his current situation. This he would at least try to see what reasoning there was to running from ones problems.
