“Well, I guess that train of thought explains the muzzle currently massaging my scalp… I am pretty embarrassed by how quickly Tycho knocked me out, wasn’t much of a fight. I’m not much of a fighter…” William said, however, they both knew it was not true. Mr. Watson had killed bio-android IIshavoh without much effort. Ivan told Zero to follow the bio-android but never pursue. He said the bio-android was much too powerful and dangerous to be dealt with. Knowing all of this, and witnessing his demise by the hands of William Watson, how could the man possibly claim that he was not much of a fighter and expect Zero to agree? Mr. Watson's became flushed, and although the android did not understand very well the implications of his reddened face, he continued with the next question.
Model Zero started with a simple question. Where did they come from and why were they sent here? Even the Sebastian could vaguely describe why they had arrived as they told him not too long ago, but it seemed the android's message was loud and clear to William and he understood his position. Because of this understanding, William explained with utmost detail. He named Prometheus Zex, stated they were both employed to the Lord, and named the other members of their crew. He also explained the purpose of their mission. Then, he spoke of his frail mother and his little sister, whom were living in Zex's mansion. With the current information, it was impossible to believe the man would think of betraying them when his family member's lives were at stake. Model Zero knew how rash the Lord could be -and would be, if need be. Disobeying Zex's orders would be like sentencing his family to death, so it was now clear on which side the man stood; that is, if it was really Mr. Watson to whom he spoke.
In the android's eyes, loyalty had been proven on the condition that this was who he said and appeared to be. The last thing he needed to confirm before he lowered the barrel of his cannon is whether this was William Leo Watson, Jr.
The next question would be something which nobody could possibly know. They were the only ones in the rooftop that day, as he would have detected anyone's presence. If the man answered this correctly and genuinely, he would be cleared from suspicion. Zero asked the man of the contents of their conversation on that solemn night. He mentioned IIshavoh's name, and his contract with Zex to keep his family safe if he took the bio-android's life.
“… Look," the man said, "if you are going to kill me for whatever reason, could you promise me something first?" Zero lift his head, bringing to a halt his extensive thought process. He had been analyzing everything the man had said and looked for ways in which he could be erroneous or wrong. Before he allowed this man to rejoin them at the core of their mission, he needed to be absolutely sure the man was William. "Will you look after my family? If I’m gone, I fear Zex will shun them from his mansion, and then Alpha Prime’s criminals will…” he stopped, unable to finish his sentence, but Zero knew what he was going to say. Occasionally, Ivan would send the android out on missions and he would witness the darkness that impregnated the Omega Collective. There was so much delinquency, and so much acceptance and tolerance to that delinquency. Criminal activity only mattered when it affected those in power. It only mattered when someone important had suffered from the crime. Otherwise, it was a world for the fit to eat on the weak and strive.
There was a prominent moment of deep silence as the android made his final judgement. Finally, his arm lowered. "That's won't be necessary," he said. "I don't know how you did it, but I believe you are Mr. Watson." His arm rested beside him as his hand reformed over the muzzle. On his other arm, he leisurely held his saber, humming in the silence with its translucent green hue. The android no longer had anywhere to stow his sword, so he was forced to hold on to it until repairs were made. William would now be able to turn around and see that the android had been stripped of all armor but his helmet and the white piece around his pelvis. He had nothing but the black skin-tight suit covering most of his body, along with a few scrapes and scratches. The ends of his helmet were chipped and cracked, his golden hair slightly shifting with his ever so sudden movements.
That settled, Zero set his gaze towards the east. His scouter beeped, displaying the power-levels their teammates and Sebastian far off in the distance. It was time to rejoin the others and they hadn't a moment to waste. Still looking away, he spoke to William.
"Mr. Watson," he said, "while you were unconscious, Kurosanai and Frigid defeated Arpatiko and I Lieutenant Tycho of the Kinigos. According to my readings, Frigid and Kurosanai have moved on to help Conri Lane. Sebastian's energy signature is very weak and I predict the man will not last much longer."
Damn, the android thought. The others probably did not understand, they were probably blinded by their hatred and drowned with mortal emotions, but Zero knew it would be best to keep Sebastian alive. In his state, the man could not do much against them. They should keep Sebastian alive and interrogate him about the lost crew, this Universal Church of One, the Kinigos, Memento Mor -everything! There were so many questions and the only person capable of answering them was about to be purged through blind rage and stupidity. The android hoped they could possibly arrive in time to stop the execution and reason with his comrades. He gazed at William.
"Mr. Watson, we need to hurry and stop our teammates. Sebastian is the only person who can answer all our questions, he is our only lead. If we're not fast, our comrades will kill Sebastian through blind rage and nothing will be accomplished. We need to restrain Sebastian and interrogate him -then, they can do as they wish with the man." The android hoped William would understand and agree with him. It was already proven the android had little influence with their teammates. If he had Mr. Watson on his side, then they might have a chance. He looked intently at the man, waiting for his thoughts. William just needed to say the word and Zero would jet off towards Kurosanai and the others, trusting the man would follow suit as well.
