The trembling couldn’t be stopped. It would take all of his effort not to fall to his knees crying out in pain. It was excruciating. It felt like every muscle in his body was going to be torn asunder strand by strand to the point that there would be nothing left. Parts of his body felt like they were on fire while others felt like they had been dipped in liquid nitrogen. It was just painful. He couldn’t feel the staff that sat in his hands. His eyes were barely able to make out the figure of Nasu standing in front of him. His eye caught Mijuku staring at him. The look on her face was something of worry and concern. The girl shifted from side to side like she could see something that the boy could not. He tried to mouth some words but Mijuku simply shook her head.
‘You shouldn’t try to do anything other than hold that energy where it is. If you lose focus for even a second you will die.’ Mijuku’s voice echoed within his head. The look of concern was a bit unsettling. When you have a ghost looking like she had seen one it never inspires confidence.
‘I can’t hold on much longer. If I try to hold on much longer I am going to lose my grip…’ Kurosanai answered back mentally. Even his mental voice was soaked in agony. The ground seemed to shake even though it did not move. What was happening however was bits of flame were flaring out to the side as the ground beneath him cracked as it chilled. The power that he was containing in his chest was escaping in the brief moments he would drift away from where he was standing. ‘I am going to have to attack…I can’t wait anymore…is…everyone away…’
Mijuku walked over and levitated up to the side of the fallen prodigies head. “I can use your body to take a look around just hold on a moment longer.” Placing her fingers on the side of his temple her eyes snapped open and for a brief moment he felt part of his mind pulling away as he felt his Akai Kiretsu extending out around them. The area seemed quiet and empty, eerily empty. His vision snapped back around him and Mijuku’s eyes closed once more. “You are clear.”
‘Thank you…’
The energy swirled in the ball in front of Nasu Hattori. He was going to have to handle what the fallen prodigy had been building up for so long. The blast was going to carve a hole through the once proud city. Only a few hours ago these skyscrapers were filled with people as they went about their lives without a care in the world. They would be watching the numerous political ads that were filling the air waves as his former opponents aimed to tear him down. How much things could change. Ships had been flying from the city in at a frantic pace as citizens were evacuated. Some had been forced to reside in bunkers that Conri had sought to build over the last six months. Prudent thinking now but he knew just escaping the city was the better idea. Burradori had taken pride in that, installing a mass evacuation system. The total casualties would be unknown until long after.
“You come to Earth not once but twice to spread nothing but death. You massacred an entire town for nothing more than your own desire not to be seen when you were beat. You are a coward Nasu Hattori. And you will be stopped here today.” Kurosanai would call out with as much strength as he could muster. “You will fall today!”
The air around Kurosanai drew in close to his chest as it dramatically dropped. Closing his eyes he knew that a single slip now would only end up killing him as well. Snapping his eyes open his words would ring out into the air.
“CHAOTIC BURST!”
Instantly a wave of absolute zero cold shot outwards in all directions around Kurosanai. It would spread across the distance in an instant. The ground would crack and buckle as it was exposed to cold no one thought it ever would. Buildings moan and the cars cried as the cold snapped over them. But they would only suffer in the cold for a brief moment. Fire burst in all directions and it began to consume everything in its path. While the cold may have left everything in a cold absolutely frozen paradise the fire ate away everything in order to leave nothing more than a charred hell. This was going to be the defining moment of this fight and it was going to more than likely be the deciding point in this war. He had to win. He had no choice.

OH GOD IT HURT!
Nasu had never stored up this much energy before. His entire body didn't tingle anymore every cell pulsated as agony washed through him a million times for every heart beat. And his heart was fucking racing. Still he held, he wouldn't lose to this human, this earthling who dared challenge the Saiyan empire. He wouldn't fail his family.
He couldn't feel his sister's energy anymore, or anyone else's for that matter. He had to let go of his senses. The only thing he could focus on was the energy he held. For all he knew she could be dead, she could have died days ago, years. How long had he been charging this?
His mind raced, he could feel himself dying.
"Chaotic BURST!" He saw the man release his energy and it was with nothing but satisfaction and relief Nasu grinned.
"BIG BANG ATTACK!" he screamed with enough force to tear his throat again.
As soon as the attack left his hands, his mind opened and his senses came back. The attack that his opponent launched was literally mind numbing. But then, he sensed his own blast.
A smile lit his face.
It was stronger, much stronger. If he had directed that anywhere else, if it hit anything else he could have destroyed the planet. Instead he would kill the boy who dared to challenge the crown.
"Time to die peasant."

Sorry it was short. Only so much you can at a certain point. Still the strongest blast on the site. SUCK IT KURO!

What happens when you have two forces that seemed to be on a seemingly unchangeable path? Do you try and figure out a way to avoid it or do you charge headlong into this collision? That was the choice that the Lunar Saiyans seemed to have on their hands. After the Queen of Saiyans rose to the throne by removing her father the Saiyan kingdom seemed to change its course to one of coexisting with its Earthly neighbor. For centuries the two seemed to comingle in a fairly peaceful manner. Yes things had been tense at time but the two had always seemed to avoid war. That changed with Akassa Hattori, she craved the Earth as her own and through her delusions she descended upon it. While the narrative of Akassa versus the Earth seems like the one where two paths can’t seem to part. However that was only the vehicle for the true conflict. Nasu Hattori, the forgotten son, the exiled Red Flag and the high general to his sister, landed on Earth looking to make a race he felt lower than his own his slave. What he found however was the remnant of a creature that he thought had departed for the afterlife. Kurosanai Muzai, the fallen prodigy, the former Prometheus Zex employee and the presidential candidate, stood before the Saiyan leaders flanked by fellow defenders and in protest to Nasu’s gloried triumph months before.
These were the paths that were set to collide.
The two warriors tangled with each other trying to end the fight so that their side on this war was handed the advantage of another fighter. Neither seemed to give and soon energy began to gather within their hands. Kurosanai drew energy inwards towards his chest with it hidden from the world due to the Cloak of Aon while the world could sense that impending doom that gathered within Nasu’s hand. Each tried to get the other to blink in the hope that they could steal the upper hand however neither did. Instead they both called forth ungodly amounts of energy. From Kurosanai first ice and then fire burst forth from his body in all directions. The ground cracked at the sudden freeze and then hissed before buckling more under the heat. The energy that exuded from the fallen prodigy actually caused the ground beneath his feet to crack and caved slightly causing his feet to sink down several inches. The debris on the ground near the two were seemed to get launched outwards by the force. This however would not go unmatched.
The Saiyan general would launch the blast that had been gathering in his hand. It was one of the signature techniques that only those considered by Akassa to be generals were allowed to know. It was a technique that she had seen used against her by her father. The compressed energy flew from his hand towards the oncoming burst. The ball of ki plunged into the wave of frozen air. It tore through the field with relative ease and soared towards the fallen prodigy. Something strange happened as the Big Bang Attack emerged from the ice. The globe seemed to be coated in ice and no longer did it appear fully compressed, it seemed to have destabilized. When the now destabilized globe of energy was confronted with the wave of intense fire things did not end the same way as before. The fire hit the globe of energy and the combination of force and heat set it off.
For a split second the energy seemed to compress in on itself dragged everything in towards it. This implosion effect only happened for a split second before the outward force emerged. The light came first as both warriors were bathed in light as the entire city would light up. The sun would be dwarfed by the brilliance of the explosion. It would be so bright that those within the ships that orbited the Earth as they continued to rain fire upon the planet below would be able to see by simply peering out their windows. Then came the destructive force that was pent up within the brilliance. The ground immediately began to disappear as it was torn apart. The pavement was torn asunder as chunks of pavement were tossed at sickening speed. The road was chewed up, the ground beneath it destroyed and the blast ate away into the subway system that ran beneath the streets. It would continue to ever expand outwards as it carved deeper into the Earth. The force was so great that it began to send tremors through the ground with gruesome force that they would be felt hundreds of miles away. The ground within the city itself would crack and shoot upwards as vicious earthquakes rocked the city. The few buildings that remained that were in the immediate area were engulfed and obliterated. Those just beyond the dome of light were rocked to the point that they collapsed. Beyond that was entirely dependent on the building.
Those within the city were going to have to flee as it was the strongest blast the Earth had seen in millennia. The time for this battle was over. No more punches or kicks. No more ki blasts. This was the turning point in the battle and the war.
***
Kurosanai could barely hold his ground as the energy from his own burst rocked the world around him. His feet were anchored into the ground as his body was barely able to hold on as it was tossed from one extreme temperature to another. He honestly could not see what was going on around him. He couldn’t hear anything over the roar. His Akai Kiretsu snapped on in an effort to see what was beyond him and to see if the attack was successful. The only problem was that the very level of energy that he had exuded from himself he could not see anything. But he felt something on his clothing. It seemed to be being sucked forward and his heart sunk. Something was off. Bringing his staff upwards in front of his chest he prepared for a horror he could not imagine.
The force that rocketed outwards was like he had been hit by the entire planet that he stood on. The first blast wave nearly blew him clear across the city. He sank lower as he attempted to keep his staff in front of him in an effort to separate out as much damage as he could. There was no telling what Nasu was doing right now but if he had been caught off guard then he surely would have died, he had to have.
“Mijuku…I could…” Kurosanai yelled as he tried to stand his ground which was actually crumbling away as he spoke. No answer came from the blind faerie that had been dancing by his side only moments before. There was nothing but roaring wind. Trying to sink lower he bent his knees but he only felt the force on his body increase. The force had actually grown so powerful so quickly that even with his own energy reinforcing his Staff of Yomi it began to crack and break. That was when his eyes caught the ground caving in below him however by the time he saw it was too late. The ground beneath his feet gave way and the fallen prodigy was launched like a missile. While he normally would have been launched through the air and across the ground he did not have that kind of luck now. With the ground giving out the Muzai was launched into the subway tunnels.
His body plummeted through the tunnel. When he touched down on the ground tracks and ground would explode in pieces. It would then launch him back up into the air and further down the tunnel. He was pin wheeling through the tunnel and every time he spun in the direction that he had come from there was only light and disappearing tunnel. When he hit a station that was originally designed to shepherd people from one area of the city he would launch through the air, through several pillars and into another tunnel. He would bounce off the wall before landing hard on his stomach. Everything was happening so fast that he could barely feel anything in his body. Lifting his head he saw the light come forward in its unrelenting fashion. Sticking his left arm up in an effort to somehow slow the blast he would be engulfed in the light.
***
The next thing Kurosanai knew was that he was surrounded by darkness. Trying to take a deep breath in he was only met by hard dry coughing. The sound seemed to reverberate and echo back to him. Wherever he was it was somewhere enclosed. Pressing his right hand to the ground he pushed upwards only to find an immense weight on his back. He got about half way up when his body began to howl in pain and he clatter to the ground with whatever was on his back crashing down on him as well. With his head pressed in the dirt beneath it he could taste something coppery.
“That’s not a good sign…” Kurosanai mumbled to himself. Taking several shallow breaths in the fallen prodigy let out a yell as he pushed upwards again. The weight began to give as things clattered to the ground around him. Eventually the weight disappeared and Kuros let out a groan as he tried to stay upright. Everything hurt. Like you are about to die hurt. What he had experienced on Mement Mor at the hands of the Cardinal Sebastian seemed like nothing right now. Taking several deep breaths in he tried to cause the pain to stop only to find that every breath he took seemed only hurt more. He might have broken his entire rib cage for all he knew.
Focusing he tried to call the Akai Kiretsu to his eyes to figure out where he was but after a few moments nothing came forth. Trying again he took in pained breath only to be left blind. “That’s not good either…” A sigh escaped his lips as he realized that he was going to have to figure out where he was. Slowly he began to walk forward in hopes that he was going to be heading towards an opening somewhere. The air was stale but thankfully and luckily the air seemed to become fresher.
Whatever he had endured has essentially left his left arm useless as he couldn’t feel anything to it. That was anything below the burning pain in his elbow. He had to use his right hand as a probe and for what felt like an eternity he would stumble through the darkness. That was until he ran into a wall that had several cracks in it allowing light to shine through. His right hand pressed weakly against the wall. He could smell the fresh air on the other side and knew that this was the moment he would be free. Groaning turned into yelling as he pushed with all of his might. First came a crack and then a hair of movement before the wall finally gave way. The rush of light and fresh air was so comforting to the young Muzai that he basked there for a moment. When he opened his eyes things changed drastically.
No longer was he standing at ground level. He was standing on the edge of a massive crater that now sat in the middle of Central City. He was only about halfway up and his jaw fell. The bowl could have easily spanned over a mile in diameter and deep enough that it appeared to go beneath where the subway tunnels once were. Debris littered the bowl everywhere he looked. There were pieces of terrain that were stained a crystal color and seemed to glow in the sun while he could actually see pieces of stone burning as if they were pieces of wood. The sight was terrifying and what was even more terrifying was that he was the one that had done it. Looking down at himself he saw holes ripped in his clothing with blood staining the fabric around the scrapes and cuts. His clothing, his hair and his skin all had a covering of a gray dust hanging on it. The most startling fact was that there wasn’t something wrong with his left arm. The reason why was because it was not there anymore.
A few inches below his elbow was nothing but a bloody nub for what used to be his arm. Blood dripped from it creating a small pool of blood at his feet. Whatever had happened seemed to cauterize the skin enough so that he wouldn’t bleed out immediately but he would without help.
“Fuck…” Kuro felt his stomach begin to turn as tried to calm himself. Fate would give him a hand in that as the ledge he was standing on gave way sending him plummeting down the embankment. End over end he would tumble down the side as he felt his head slam into concrete over and over again. When he came to a stop it was hard stop. He had rolled over a small over hang and into the air. His body slammed into the ground and the world only proceeded to spin. He felt the warmth of blood running from his head and all of the other body parts. Little to the former prodigy know was that he happened to land in one of the few open areas devoid of debris. His eyes searched around him and it was then that he could see the familiar black material of his Staff of Yomi. Rolling over onto his stomach he braced himself up on his hand before falling back onto his knees. Extending his hand out in front of him he attempted to call the staff to him. It wiggled slightly and then it seemed to let loose of what was holding it down. The piece of the staff, as it was only that, began to slowly clatter across the ground towards its owner.
He needed to get out of here. To get medical attention and to get back to helping those who were still fighting in the city.
(The explosion of the two combined blasts will be roughly approximated at 6,000,000 pl.)

Exhaustion and fear gripped Nasu as he released the largest blast he'd ever fired. The energy was as much a part of him as anything, and there was a small saddness that came with letting it go. Still the blast was a testimate to his stregnth, his power, his ability to shape the world around him to his whim. For the first time ever he was finally in control of his life. Had he wanted, the blast was more than strong enough to destroy the world he stood on. But instead he chose benevolence towards the humans, he instead chose to kill the man in front of him. The man who claimed to be a hero but let millions die in his place, who claimed to be about preserving justice only so long as it was convenient to him. The man who should have died years ago, blind and afraid, but instead stood before him and the empire that had come for his home, defiant. This man would die for his sins today, and Nasu's blast would be the last thing his new eyes ever saw.
The two blasts collided
There was something oddly beautiful about it. The pools of energy and hatred combined together, swirling and intermingling. It was terrifying and mind numbing the amount of power the pair had thrown at one another. The two blasts individually had the power to destroy worlds or level cities. Combined it was like an unstoppable force meets an immovable object, a train wreck that is both horrifying, but impossible to look away from. Nasu's blast tore onward through the first wave of his nemesis' counter but he saw the attack losing cohesion and becoming unstable.
His eyes widened sightly as the horror of what was coming clicked in his mind and with what little energy he had left Nasu crossed his arms in front of him and threw up a quick shield. It wasn't enough though, it would never be enough, not for this. The concussive wave from the blast dragged him a step in and cost him his balance and any chance he had of withstanding the blast whole. The sound wave that hit him next was enough to blow both his ear drums causing blood to begin once again running down the side of his face and send lightning bolts of pain through his mind.
None of this registered to him at all however as his jaw dropped at the site of the explosion that was coming for him. It was beautiful, it was horrifying, it was death to everything around him. Nasu's senses were still extended and he could literally feel the millions of people stuck in traffic, hiding in their homes, running through the streets trying to escape the war that came to them because some wouldn't bend the knee. Time slowed and one by one, hundred by hundred, thousands by thousands, Nasu felt it as millions of lights were extinguished from the universe without ever having the chance to fight back.
His mind was in such shock he hadn't even noticed he had been thrown back himself. It was like a sky full of stars suddenly all gone black at once. His body flew through the nearest building behind him the force of the blast launching him mercilessly back through the heart of the city they had destroyed. He flew through an apartment complex, through a home and saw an elderly couple. They were holding hands in terror, Nasu noticed how white their knuckles were as they gripped one another as if it was their last lifeline to the shore. They stared out the window and watched the blast that would incinerate them both a split second later. Yet still he flew on. His body was completely out of his control now torn and tumbling from forces beyond anything he could have imagined. The only consolation he had was that he felt no pain, his mind too numb from the death that surrounded him.
He flew through more buildings, more homes, more death and people hiding each time he hit a second before the blast thrown back by the concussive wave. Each time he saw last seconds, last glances, last hopes and dreams die as the blast killed indiscriminately. Finally he stopped, or he had been stopped for a while as his mind raced. He didn't know anymore. Instead he tried to stand. He pushed himself to his feet but his legs were shaking so bad he fell forward instead. Trying to rise again he noticed his arms were a latticework of blood. Every inch was covered but the blood had been burned solid into a massive scar that coated both his arms. He rose.
The city had been destroyed. Not wrecked, that would imply there was something left. But destroyed. History books would tell of a great capitol of Earth, home to millions. Millions who had all had to die for a selfish few. But in the end the city itself would fade into legend. That was what happened when civilizations fell.
He stared at the crater he had created his mind still numb from shock. Nasu saw a boulder shift. Off in the distance something moved. He tried to fly towards it only to notice he had no energy left to propel himself forward. His aura once golden and a symbol of his strength was now gone, he couldn't even summon his old fire red aura around him. He had nothing left. Nothing except a glimmer of hope that someone had survived. That he could help, saving one life wouldn't absolve him of the death and destruction he had caused but as he stumbled blindly forward he needed to help. He NEEDED someone to still be alive.
The boulder moved.
And Nasu's world shifted, as for a second time the prick human hero wanna be survived something Nasu had seen kill him. The blast had been stronger than anything he'd felt in his life. It had left literal millions dead. And this jackass had the nerve to survive. Nasu stumbled forward, no longer in hope, but blind, all encompassing rage. Tears of pure anger flooded his eyes as he reached his rival.
With one blood soaked hand he grabbed the front of the boy's jacket.
"Everyone is dead!" Nasu screamed in the boys face delivering a blow across his jaw with the other. "EVERYONE DIED BECAUSE YOU WOULDN"T!" a blow to the stomach this time, followed by a knee to the gut and an elbow across the back of the neck slamming the man down into the dirt he had risen from. Nasu didn't let it stop there though. His anger was no where near satisfied.
He hopped on the man's back and continued to beat the man. He didn't have energy left for an attack. Instead he'd do it with his own two hands. "IF YOU HAD DIED, ALL OF THESE PEOPLE WOULD STILL BE ALIVE!" he couldn't bring himself to stop screaming and tears of rage, shame, and shock were running down his face causing streaking lines breaking up the soot that had covered him from the blasts. Still he beat the man to death with his hands. "IF YOU HAD KNELT, I COULDN'T HAVE ATTACKED AND ALL THESE PEOPLE WOULD STILL BE ALIVE!" he saw something twitch in the rubble and for another moment. For a split second. Nasu prayed to every God above known and unknown that something, someone was still alive other than this boy.
The ground twitched and shuffled and the boys staff moved towards them.
It was too much. Something in Nasu's mind broke and the saiyan lost what sanity he had left. He got off the man's back and grabbed the staff. It was little more than a broken shell but the edge was pointed into a spear like tip. It seemed fitting. The two warriors were broken, but still they were capable of killing. Nasu walked back determined. Grabbing the boy by the front of his shirt and lifting him in the air. The boy was literally dripping blood to the point Nasu stood in a pool of it. He was shocked it hadn't killed him yet but it would. The boy's eyes had the far away look of someone who was going to be dead very shortly. But Nasu wouldn't let him go volition, he brought the man down back to eye level.
"When would it be enough?" he asked. "When do the ends not justify the means for you? When do the total lives lost, not balance out to whatever morals you claim to have? When is it too much?" with that he took the spear and rammed it through the boy. Into his stomach like a dagger and out the other end.
Nasu saw the boys body jerk in shock and pain for the first time since the blast it was a physical reaction and it brought a grim smile to his face. He pulled the boy in close and saw the spear bloodied and sticking out the other side of the man. It was over. It was finally finally over.

The staff was so close to his hand when the first strike landed to the side of his face. He had slammed his head so many times on the fall down the side of the crater that he had lost focus on the world around him. Thinking back on it he had heard the Saiyan’s footsteps coming towards him but the only thought in his head was to get his staff. He could feel the blood soaking in his mouth as he felt the insides of his mouth begin to tear. A solid thud followed up driving the wind from his lungs. Kuro’s jaw fell open as the suction for air overrode every feeling in his body. Strike after strike began to rain down on the fallen prodigy. Each one became less and less painful as he just saw red spraying through the air. Red spray turned to thicker pools of the dark elixir. Suddenly his head was driven into the dirt. Kurosanai’s eyes were caught up with only grey and red.
There were thuds against his back but no pain anymore. It was then that he could hear the words that had been being spoken or more accurately yelled at Kurosanai. The words did not carry the sound of Nasu Hattori’s voice. Instead they came on the wind of the voice of Fujin Muzai.
"Everyone is dead! EVERYONE DIED BECAUSE YOU WOULDN’T! IF YOU HAD DIED, ALL OF THESE PEOPLE WOULD STILL BE ALIVE! IF YOU HAD KNELT, I COULDN'T HAVE ATTACKED AND ALL THESE PEOPLE WOULD STILL BE ALIVE!” The words were laced with venom. Each word was like a bee sting in the mind of the fallen prodigy. His eyes tried to find something in the world to latch onto but there appeared to be nothing that would be enough to save him now. He felt his body get lifted into the air and it was then that he saw Fujin Muzai standing in front of him. His Aoiro no tsuisata fully blazoning within his eyes and they were filled with rage and hatred. He couldn’t get words out of his mouth as he tried to speak to his ancestor.
A sharp pain caused Kurosanai’s eyes to snap wide open. Looking down he saw the broken end of his staff entering his body and the sharp pain that ripped through his back told him that it protruded from his back. That was when blood spurted out from his mouth and as his eyes drifted back up to where his ancestor stood. It was not Fujin standing in front of him however it was Nasu Hattori. Nasu Hattori had stabbed his own staff through his torso. His hand let go of the prodigy who clattered to the ground in nothing but a pool of his own blood. Kurosanai’s eyes rolled through the air as he tried to figure out where he was. Placing his hand in the pool of blood he guided himself back to his knees. His head hung on his shoulders as he was unable to look up at the man that was going to kill him.
The idea had never truly entered Kuro’s mind. He fought because he fought on someone else’s behalf his entire life. He fought for the pride of his clan. He fought for Prometheus Zex trying to find the crew that he had lost contact with. He was fighting on behalf of the loud drunks in the bar. He was fighting on behalf of those citizens of Earth who deserved freedom. Each and every single time he fought for someone other than himself. And each time something had gone wrong. Those that could not escape the city during the explosions or the orbital bombardment had perished. Their deaths probably numbered in the thousands. Sure the majority of the city was able to escape but those who couldn’t were killed because of his actions. And with everything about to come to an end with the man that wished to see nothing but murder and enslavement of the human race he felt the spark of hope disappearing from his very being.
The only thing around him and before his eyes was blood. The red liquid coated the ground and it lapped at the Saiyan’s boots. Everything was spiraling out of control and it was time to face facts. The facts were simple. As he was about to accept his fate Kurosanai heard a calling to him. It was a strange calling but it was a familiar one. It was a calling of something that used to be a part of him and it was in that moment that he knew what it was.
Laughter began to escape his mouth. It was not a comical laughter or a joyous laughter but rather a bit of a crazed laughter. His eyes drifted upwards and landed on the face of his attacker. With a belligerent smile Kuro let some choice words from his mouth. “Nasu Hattori…dog of the delusional queen…bastard son of a complacent murderer…and worthless worm, you came to Earth for war. War is what you found because we refused to bow to an unrightful ruler and then you talk about how everyone could have lived if I had died. What a fucking fool…I didn’t make your queen bombard an innocent city…I didn’t make you kill everyone in that village…I didn’t make you stand outside of the hospital building while it burned killing everyone that tried to escape the blaze. You are nothing but rabid dog that knows nothing of the universe.” Kurosanai stated with delusional laughter. His body rocked backwards and then forwards again.
“The fact of the matter is you are nothing. You always have been nothing. And at the end of the day when lie dead on the battlefield here you will still be nothing. You thought you could come here today and break the human spirit. You thought we would bow to the delusional idea of a superior race. There is only one thing you managed to prove…” Kurosanai lurched forward and slammed his remaining hand into the pool of blood that Nasu stood in the middle of. Pouring the remaining ki that he had in his body the blood all around him would spike upwards laced with ki making it as tough as Kurosanai’s body. The spikes were intended to spring upwards lurch all the way through Nasu’s torso and pierce out the other side. While inside his body however the blood would spike outwards from the initial branches in order to eviscerate the internal organs of the Saiyan. This was the last move he could think of
“…that you are nothing more than a failure Nasu Nun!” Kurosanai growled as his eyes lifted once again towards the Saiyan. Gone were the glazed over eyes of a defeated human and in their place were those of a defiant visage of his Akai Kiretsu. He was not going to just give up and die. He would fight until his breath, until his last heartbeat.

Soaring through the air over what had once been Central City, Akassa could not help the wide smile that dominated her features. This had all gone so well. Those that opposed her lay dead, their resistance having done nothing beyond pushing the Saiyan Queen to new heights. Perhaps she should have thanked them for being so near sighted...ha! Such notions only brought more amusement to the Queen. She owed this to no one, she had been the one to overcome the odds and obliterate the four fools that had come at her. Chuckling some at how easily they had been dispatched Akassa zeroed in on Nasu's location. So she hadn't done this all on her own, but she had been the head of the spear. Her faithful allies had been her support, dealing with the weaklings while she focused on the real challenges. All of them were to be thanked for their service, from Nasu to the lowest ranking soldier.
Speaking of Nasu, she finally saw him up ahead...and next to him another figure. Focusing she found it quite strange she was not able to detect the individual's signature when Nasu's was so easy to read. Not lacking in her confidence to handle any situation, she always prefered to be prepared. Hastening her approach the Queen wills Ki to flow around her enhanced form, the golden energy soon forming into her trademark Ha-Ken and her recently acquired Blade Armor. Already more imposing than she used to be, now standing at 6'4, the summoned armor only made her look all the larger. With the techniques both having defensive capabilities on top of her natural toughness, the Queen was a walking fortress.
Squinting some she attempted to discern the scene before her. Nasu was up even if his signature was fluctuation and the other figure looked to be the Muzai boy...with a spear sticking through his gut. Grinning she saw that her brother had beaten the human, this no doubt the last moments of their fight. Oh how well the Hattori had fared today, just one more body to add to the count. The Queen was almost upon them when the unreadable boy suddenly lurched forward. His hand slapping to the ground Akassa thought it some pathetic attempt at grabbing for her brother only to fall short. However, when the puddle of blood Nasu was standing in lurched upwards her eyes widened. Ninjin had been able to control his blood in ways, this rat could as well.
"Nasu!" Not even her words would be fast enough to reach him, never mind her physical form.
She couldn't prevent the blood from stabbing into her brother, but she could make sure the foul human would not be able to touch him again. Utilizing her zanzoken she was behind Kurosanai in a blink, gauntlet covered hand reaching down for the back of his coat. With ease she yanks upwards, tossing the boy into the air, spear through his stomach and all. As his body hurtled through the air, Akassa was already on the move, her zanzoken granting her speed unfathomable to anyone left alive. In an instant she was above him, fists clenched together to slam down into his back with a double handed axe handle blow.
Even with the vicious blow Akassa was not done, the burning rage that ran through her not yet played out. Again her superior speed aided her, the Queen back below the boy before he ever hit the ground. Metallic arm extended she lands before him, sudden grip on his throat perhaps enough to snap his neck. It didn't matter, with one hand holding him aloft her will reaches out to yank the broken spear that stuck through him free. Blood ran with the now open wound and all it took was a flick of her wrist to send the boy flying, tossing his body so that it would roll across the crater it had made.
Eyes glowing with raw power focused on the human as his broken body came to a stop. Stalking towards him the Queen's will extended, the broken spear floating ahead of her. Controlling it with her psychokinesis, she stabs the broken weapon down into the boy, picking him up from the ground like a party guest plucking an orderve from a plate. Lifting him into the air, whether alive or dead, she extends her arms to the side as golden energy crackles along her frame. To strike one of her allies was akin to striking the Queen herself and the consequences were just as harsh. (Charge 1)

She hadn't looked back, it wasn't necessary to, everything of importance now lay in front of her as she tore across the smoldering greyness of the skies. Maya wasn't sure of what was to come, what Akassa planned on doing or even if Toa had taken up his own course to follow Akassa, all her thoughts where focused on aiding Akassa in whatever way possible. Maya was no fool, her limits where a boundary which she had come face to face with and knew all to well that while she towered over those that crawled across the world her strengths were like a candle to a star compared to Akassa's, so minute that it could not be seen. This wouldn't stop her from trying, this was a time of war; there was no retreat or surrender, one lived to see victory or died a hero in the eyes of their people.
From afar Maya viewed the landscape below, buildings torn asunder at their foundations, more ash than actual structures at this point and even more fires than ash. Just how many had died in such a small period of time? How many more would die from serious wounds and infections? If the Earthlings had won, would it have been worth it? Thousands, perhaps millions of deaths to protect their pride? Peace would have never lasted between the two even if they had taken the demand and knelt, war was an inevitability between two countries let alone two different races; Maya had been surprised find it had lasted as long as it had.
Eyes turning towards Akassa once more it became clear as to what Akassa thought so important; Nasu. From the distance she was at it was difficult to make out what had happened to him but it was clear enough to understand that his life was held on by string which was worn from a great number of storms. Next to him sat another figure, Maya had seen little of him from the web feeds but knew enough that he was opposed to the Saiyan's whims. The two had done a great deal of damage to the other, both looked as though a strong wind would diminish whatever energy they held left in their bodies; jagged spikes ramming through Nasu's back in a flurry of blood, while a broken staff of sorts stuck out the back of the other. The whole area surrounding them was a bloody messy with patches of the red splattered in every which direction, whatever they had done to one another was certainly more interesting than the skirmish she had taken part in.
It was Akassa's shrill voice that tore the scene apart at the seams, no longer was the fight between the two men below but now between the Queen and the man that would harm her brother so. Maya wished that she could have seen Akassa move in all her glory but in a instant the Queen vanished only to reappear at the mans backside, then things became just a bloody as the rest of the field around them. While Maya would have liked to watch Akassa tear into the man like a rag doll she forced her focus to remain on Nasu, while he was taken from the man direct grip life was rapidly draining from his body.
Not very worried about a safe landing Maya came down onto the ground like a rocket, kicking rocks and ash away in her movements. Coming to a running stop Maya walked to Nasu's side, stopping she gave a quick examination of his condition... it was grim. Multiple spikes that had driven from what seemed the Earth itself now punctured deep into his chest, with the blood that ran from the various wounds that covered his body Maya guessed it was only a matter of time.
"Of course it would be you...."
She sigh heavily before reaching into the inner post pocket of her leather jacket, taking a hold of something she knelt before Nasu. Raising her hand to Nasu's lips Maya leaned in closer till her mouth was next to his ear and while it appeared from the lack of blood he was well unconscious by point she knew that he could hear her, he would hear her.
"You, owe, me."
Her voice whispered as she shoved the small Senzu Bean into his mouth though without any way to shallow Maya took it the extra mile as the material of her hand morphed into a long strand, almost like a tentacle. Pushing the bean down the length of his throat Maya watched and waited till she could feel the bean had fully entered his body and give it a small crush to release its healing properties.
Nothing in Maya's body cared anything about the young Saiyan, his arrogance and stupidity would most likely be the down fall of the Saiyan Empire one day... but Akassa held affection for Nasu. For what reason that Akassa held any fondness toward Nasu Maya knew not, but Maya knew that if Nasu were to fade from this realm Akassa would... be in a dampened state, something that Maya did not wish to befall upon Akassa. As much as Maya enjoyed the site of Nasu in pain for all the idiotic shit he pulled Maya knew Akassa would be in much higher spirits if he did not fall on this day... that would be saved for another day.
"Now get up... idiot."

Nasu's fists rained down and his vision tunneled. Blood flew in every direction, the dried scars on his face doused in fresh drops, his shirt burned black was now dotted red, but still he didn't stop. Nothing could make him stop till every last drop of blood was out of this monster's body. He would keep punching till the man's bones had long ago turned to dust blown away in the wind.
So many were dead, and it was at least partially Nasu's fault...
It wasn't the killing that had bothered him. Nasu had taken lives before, it was how he survived as a child, it was his indoctrination into the Red Flag, it was how he protected his family. But feeling all those lives flash out at once. Because of his power....it was terrifying, and Nasu responded to fear the only way he knew how. He drove his fist into it's face, over and over and over again as red mist rained down around him.
Perhaps the greatest faculty all minds possess is the ability to cope with pain. Classic thinking teaches of four doors of the mind, which everyone moves through according to their need.
First is the door of sleep. Sleep offers us a retreat from the world and all its pain. Sleep marks passing time, giving us distance from the things that have hurt us. When a person is wounded they will often fall unconscious. Similarly, someone who hears traumatic news will often swoon or faint. This is the mind's way of protecting itself from pain by stepping through the first door. Nasu's mind had gone blank, his consciousness sprinting through the first door without pause. Hurtling forward while his body acted of it's own volition.
Second is the door of forgetting. Some wounds are too deep to heal, or too deep to heal quickly. In addition, many memories are simply painful, and there is no healing to be done. The saying 'time heals all wounds' is false. Time heals most wounds. The rest are hidden behind this door. And through this door Nasu's consciousness dashed raced as well. He forgot the faces he saw burning, forgot the lives he felt extinguished, forgot that the root cause, the invasion that brought all this death was of his own making.
Third is the door of madness. There are times when the mind is dealt such a blow it hides itself in insanity. While this may not seem beneficial, it is. There are times when reality is nothing but pain, and to escape that pain the mind must leave reality behind. And at this door Nasu's mind finally paused. having found peace of it's own sort, and from that madness Nasu woke to a bloodlust he hadn't ever felt before.
As drops of the human's blood rained over him, his tongue darted out taking one into his mouth, his eyes widened in excitement. The tempo of his beating increased ten fold. His body acting on it's own found Kuro's staff floating towards him as if a sign from the gods themselves. They smiled down on him and his quest. He reached out and took the staff driving it through the man's stomach and blood erupted out the other side.
The human knelt down in a puddle of red and blood gushed from his back a new Archibald Fountain, honoring the Gods. The true gods. The Saiyans.
His breathing was heavy and gasping his eyes still wide with excitement. He could feel his heart beating not only in his chest but throughout his entire body as adrenaline filled him. He could see the human gasping for breathe as realization washed over him. He was dying, and Nasu would be there to see the light fade from his eyes. To see his last heartbeat and revel in it.
The man's hand fell to the earth, covered by his own filth. A great scream. And the very air rose up around him.
Nasu's mind was shocked back into semi-lucidity. It wasn't by any degree of sanity, the wounds were still far too fresh for this. But by pain. The pain that boiled inside of him was like nothing he could begin to explain. As spears of blood stabbed him he felt violated on a personal level, as his ribs cracked and javelins of blood lifted him off his feet crucifying him in the air he felt powerless. And his mind fled.
Classic thinking teaches of four doors of the mind, which everyone moves through according to their need, and Nasu's need was great. His mind fled running as fast as it could towards the final door. The last is the door of death. The final resort of a wounded mind. Nothing can hurt us after we are dead, or so we have been told.
He was dimly aware of an energy level raging around him, of the boy who had killed him being murdered in his own right. His body fell unceremoniously to the earth as the spears of blood no longer having the energy necessary to support him collapsed.
He felt his lungs seize, and his vision turn black as rocks, dirt and pebbles hit his face from another power landing near him.
Nasu's body siezed on last time as blood filled his throat, reflexively his body tried to swallow instead twitching as something landed in his stomach. His eyes shot wide open but his vision was still black.
He felt energy around him, power like he'd never felt before. It felt like his sister's energy but stronger, larger, comparing this to what he'd seen from his sister before would be like comparing an ocean to a pond. Immediately next to him he felt another energy not as familiar but he knew it.
His mind raced back through the doors, madness left his mind weakened and dazed as his body's organs patched themselves. The door of forgetting brought back all the horrible visions, the faces, the feeling of damning all those innocents to die and he screamed and arched his back as the whole in his chest filled and his scrapes and cuts vanished. Finally his eyes focused to see Maya, pulling her hand from his mouth and wiping it on the front of her jacket. Her words resonating in his head.
"You, owe me."
The bean had saved his life, but magic be damned there was only so much it could do. Finally his mind stopped unable to fully leave the last door, the door of sleep would take it's due. He met the eyes of woman who he had mocked, who he had ridiculed and hated, who had just saved his life. He nodded slightly but the movement was too much for him. He shut his eyes and lost consciousness his chest rising and falling regularly now. For now he only hoped sleep would let him escape his pain and his failures.

Post by Kurosanai Muzai on Jul 7, 2015 21:41:26 GMT -5
He had done it. He had finally caught the Saiyan completely off guard and the battle was his. As he looked up though he did not see Nasu Hattori standing there rather he saw a visage of his ancestor. Fujin Muzai with his buzzed hair stared back with a disbelieving look. His Aoiro no Tsuisata stared back at the fallen prodigy of the Muzai. His mouth moved trying to find words that accurately described what was happening but only silence was returned. Slowly blood began to bubble from his lips before like that of a broken television image the image of Fujin Muzai dramatically snaps back and forth. Kurosanai watched as the action happened again and then one final time before Fujin Muzai disappeared. The feeling of a chill that normally settled on the young man was gone, his ancestor was gone. Kurosanai did not just win one battle today he won two.
Kuro would never get to enjoy his moment. An unbelievable force yanked him backwards and in an instant he was airborne. His eyes tried to scan the area as for what was going on but even his eyes could not figure out what was going on. His Akai Kiretsu faded as he did not have enough strength left to keep them active. The next action felt like someone had dropped a mountain on top of his skull. The only reaction he could muster was that of a gasp as blood shot from his mouth. Everything flickered into darkness before light came back. Whatever was happening to Kurosanai this was nothing that he had even dreamed of being possible. Suddenly something clasped around his throat cutting off the air to his lungs causing more blood to be spat into the air. The pressure was actually so great that he was forced to keep his eyes shut. He was nowhere close to being in decent shape and to be experiencing something like this was a nightmare. Then came a burning pain as something ripped the broken staff of the fallen prodigy from his chest. He could feel the warm liquid pouring from his stomach and his body began to become incredibly cold. This wasn’t good.
He could feel his body tossed effortlessly through the air. He would tumble several times through the rubble before finally coming to a stop on his stomach. Kuro really didn’t feel pain anymore it was all a matter of pressure. He could feel everything pressing against his body but the sensation of pain was gone. He had to have gone into shock by now; it had to be the explanation. Then came a counter to that argument. A pain ripped through his chest once again this time not through his stomach but rather his lung.
I was wrong! I am not in shock yet! Kurosanai mentally screamed as he hacked up more blood on the ground in front of him. On some level he was praying to the gods to end this while another part him was trying to figure out how to turn this around. He needed to get back up in order to continue fighting to stop the Saiyan army.
Slowly his body was lifted into the air with pieces of debris falling to the side. His head would hang low until he felt his body being straightened. His right arm would hang limply at his side with his head buried in his chest. Blood was dripping from every part of his body. Kuro could feel the blood slowly running down his arm and dripping from his fingertips. The blood from his stomach was a torrent though and it was a deadly wound minus everything else. With what little strength he had left the fallen prodigy lifted his head to finally see what was going on.
Standing not too far off was a monstrously brightly golden cloaked Akassa. This was not the Queen had seen just a short while ago or the one that he had met during his travels to New Vegeta. This was something else entirely. The look of hatred and blood lust in her pupil less eyes was undeniable. The thing that made his heart sink though was what he saw off in the distance. Standing over where Nasu Hattori lay was some other woman that Kurosanai had never seen before. She fed the downed Saiyan something and then in a burst of energy. The Saiyan had been saved; beyond all plausible circumstances he had been saved.
The gods were cruel. Oh were they so cruel. They had given the two fighters all the time in the world to finish what was happening here today. Time and again the two of them squandered what was given to them. Despite all of the words of provocation Nasu never acted. He just simply stood there. Now Kurosanai only needed one moment. One flipping moment was all that needed to happen. Nasu would have died and Kurosanai would have been able to go on with his life. The gods had snatched this moment away from him just like they had done with everything recently. They were cruel and Kurosanai would never forget what had happened here today. Gods or not this should never have happened.
Summoning his strength in his remaining arm his right hand ascended. It would come to gently rest on the broken piece of the staff that protruded from his chest. He tried to command his fingers to clasp down around it but they would not heed it at first. After several tries finally they began to encircle the broken staff. It was in that moment that he saw a new figure standing in front of him.
“Mi…Mijuku?” Kurosanai would mumbled as more blood rolled from his lips.
“Kurosanai.” Her tone was solemn and the look on her face was one of sadness. Something was wrong and he did not have time to wait, he had to return to fighting the Saiyans.

Akassa felt the raw power that flowed through as it crackled along her exterior. The same energy that poured forth from her eyes arced along her extended arm and danced across her shoulders. The Hattori bloodline signature technique was one she had never used in combat until now, the powerful beam not something to be taken lightly. Such an attack was to be saved for those she wished to obliterate, those that were to be removed from this realm down to the last molecule. Kurosanai Muzai had attempted to take the life of her only living family member, her brother and friend, Nasu Hattori. Now he would be executed for it.
While he floated in the air across from the energy gathering Queen, the two shared one trait. Each was willing to die in order to protect what they held important. Along with the others Kurosanai had refused the Saiyan Queen's offer for their own reasons, for what they no doubt thought the betterment of Earth when even it's King had bent the knee. While they could be faulted for their lack of organization and true plan to rise up against the one they labeled an oppressor, their commitment to their own beliefs could not be questioned. Like them, Akassa would defend her flock. With little family left in the Universe and just as few friends, she had begun to build a new family around her. Allowing those she trusted to grow closer, granting them more power within her Kingdom. Trust was an issue with the female warrior, but once it was earned and friendship was established, there was nothing she would not do to protect it. Others were always out to deny her what she desired whether it be respect, the expansion of her domain or the love of those she held close.
Akassa would have none of it.
"Final...
The first word resonating with the power that the Queen was able to wield. Her muscles strained as it increased, forcing her body far beyond what it was used to but she did not care. With her rage focused on the human before her she hadn't even realized Maya had approached nor did she sense the stabilization of Nasu's signature. All she saw was the vermin in front of her. Teeth grinding together as more pressure built within her enhanced frame, Akassa's arms snap inwards, the base of her palms smacking together as golden energy cascades down from her shoulders. The flickering pocket of Ki that began in her hands was the first sign of how her energy was to be released. For those capable of sensing or reading the power she had gathered, it had pushed itself beyond anything this short war had yet seen. Akassa was leaving nothing to chance, this final blast of the conflict to show all those that might see, the power of the Saiyan Queen.
"...Flash!"
With the completion of the name a massive wave of energy rips forth from the Queen's cupped palms. In an instant it would be upon him, the intensity of the Ki more than enough to vaporize the humans body along with anything else that was in its path. Akassa's feet dig into the ground as even she could not fully hold her position against such a rush of energy. Lancing off from her location, the radiant beam would be visible for miles upon miles as the powerful blast cut its way across the surface of the planet. In time it would burn itself out, but not before completing its task and leaving a fresh scar across the Earth. When all was said and done, Akassa stood panting, arms extended a moment before they would drop to her sides.
She had been through much this day. Having weather two blasts that would have killed any lesser being, ascending to a level beyond anything she had previously known and now such an expulsion of energy left her gasping for breath. The exhaustion also allowed her rage to subside, even if only partially, allowing her mind to be somewhat more clear. Her whole reason for such a display had been to get to her brothers side. Turning slightly to gaze upon what she expected to be Nasu's corpse her eyes would widen in surprise.
Maya stood alongside him and although he appeared unconscious, his signature was stable and at least from this distance he look mostly unharmed. Eyes shifting to the alien woman who had apparently come to his aide, Akassa couldn't help but smile. At almost the same time General Toa set down slightly off to the side of the pair, all three alive and mostly well before her. The Queen couldn't help the growing smile, not even noticing how Toa was looking up at her. Having always been on the smaller side, she didn't pay much attention to such things, the fact she currently stood above them at 6'4 missed completely.
"Earth is ours."

Time; it was all that Maya could rely on at the moment. Having arrived when the threads of life were waning Maya held doubt that the magical properties of the mysterious bean would have the desired effects on the mortally wounded Nasu, of course if death was his chosen path today then Maya had done all in her power to save the young males life; no sleep would have been lost over it even if she was capable of such a thing. Part of Maya wished for Nasu to remain in the state he was in, blood trickling from all corner of his body with its fresh scent licking at her body, there was no love towards the idiot, his actions always lead him to be in such situations that he currently was in; for all of them, Akassa and the Empire it would have been best for him to simply fade from existence and be forgotten in haze of the past. This idea was countered by another with an influence that she could not ignore; as much as Maya longed for the idiot to gasp his last breath and cease to exist it was Akassa that gave Maya cause to repair his mangled, limp frame. Had Akassa's love for her brother not thrived in her mind Maya would have given the finishing blow to him without regret in that very second... but so was the way of life, one could not have everything they wished for.
Arm retracting from the slightly conscience Nasu the effects of the bean were nearly spontaneous, jerking as if in the effects of a seizure had taken over his body Maya watched in awe as his once battered and desecrated body thrashed about, his wounds closed as if they had never been there before not even so much as scar could be seen from where his body was pierced by the spikes. Bursting in a shower of blood the spines which once jutting into his flesh crumbled away in the wind, no longer did they twist and thrive in his body. Within seconds Maya now stood over a some what normal Nasu, weariness had taken his mind from the events leading up to this point as his eyes fluttered gently into her gaze before he slipped off into a dream state.
"Shame...."
Maya whispered under her breath only for herself to hear; he had made it... at least Akassa would be glad to see his recovery.
Having saved the life of the bastard child of the late King Maya felt... uneasy; Akassa had her flesh and blood back at her side yet without doubt the Empire would suffer in the long run not to mention Maya's own personal headaches when he spoke. Bending at the knees Maya sat next to the sleep form of Nasu, resting upon her own legs as they folded under her body Maya picked up Nasu's head and placed it upon her lap; for the moment it was her task to make sure that the royal family was well protected and looked after, as for Akassa.... Eyes turning towards what could only be considered a smack down as Akassa tore apart the man who had attempted to take the life of the bastard prince.
It was then that the fight was over, the rippling light from Akassa's hands showed no mercy. Bursting forth with the energy of a star all that could be seen was a flash of light... everything was gone in a instant. Having to shield her eyes from the coming explosion Maya slowly uncoiled herself to see the smoke filled air, as if a blanket had been wrapped around her face all that could be seen in every direction was the thick haze that came with Akassa's power. Maya feared not, Akassa had taken on the best that the Earth had to offer and came out time and time again, she would shortly be at their side.
Stepping through the clouded field her eyes met up with Akassa's towering form, the smile upon her face was an uncommon site for her to behold but none the less it was welcome with a nod of her head from Maya. Beneath the surface Maya kept the pent up need to rush out and... and hug Akassa; for so long she held woe that things would go awry and Akassa would fall but now she knew that such thoughts had been foolish, for nothing could stop Akassa.
Coming from behind was Toa, the general of the Saiyan army. For what reason he had lingered behind she did not know though his presence clearly had not been needed in the end, at least in this area. Everything had worked out in the end for all of them but mostly for the Empire as Akassa spoke.
"Yes... yes it is Akassa."
With another nod of her head Maya moved from her position as she grappled Nasu in her arms loosely. The day had been won by the Empire but there was much more to do now, and it did not involve fists this time around. Earth, was a shell of its former self having taken such a beating, repairs would be needed... and as for Central city... well that was a project for another time, for now rest was needed by all of those that fought, all but Maya of course. The young alien never took the time to rest as the newly founded imperium was in its infancy, it would need all the guidance it could find.
"I shall take Nasu home for rest."
Maya noticed as she stood before the Queen, with a short bow having to juggle Nasu in her hands.
"Akassa."
With that note Maya jumped from the battle field and into the skies towards a nearby shuttle, there it would be a one way ticket to the moon... at least if that's where Nasu wished to go when he awoke. Maintaining governance over one world was a feat that could be done by few let alone two worlds, the Earth would need a leader which served under the guidance of Akassa and while the position would have been in safer hands with Maya it was Nasu that was in line to achieve something with his life, the real question now was; how would he screw it up?

Post by Kurosanai Muzai on Jul 9, 2015 22:44:27 GMT -5
The little girl’s hair rolled down the back of her small body. Her clothes were still the dated ones that he had originally met her in. The white and red dress that adorned her fell all the way to the ground where her bare feet shifted in the sand. Something was wrong but the fallen prodigy could not figure it out. His hand began to tighten around the broken piece of the staff. The blood dripped from his hand as his last devastated arm tried to pull the rod from his chest. Sensing this Mijuku grimaced and took several steps forward. Her face was cloaked in a knowing sadness that perplexed the young man. He didn’t have time for this he had to get this staff out of his chest in order to continue on the fight. After all the cold was spreading faster now and he knew he had to act fast.
“Kuro…you need to stop…” She quietly stated. The Muzai male would not heed the words as he tried to pull harder on the staff that was still embedded. Blood ran from the corners of his mouth causing him to taste nothing but copper. He needed to continue in order to stop what was happening here. He couldn’t allow this to happen. Mijuku softly padded over to the hanging human, levitated upwards and placed her hand on Kuro’s chest. For a split second he felt a tugging and it was the strangest sensation at a time like this. It caused him to close his eyes and when he reopened them he was on the ground standing in front of Mijuku.
“Mijuku…how did you…” Kurosanai stumbled as he went to turn around but was quickly stopped by a little hand grabbing his sleeve.
“Please don’t turn around. Just trust me on this.” The little girl said with her closed eye gaze staring at Kurosanai’s feet. The way she said it was striking and it was enough to grab his attention. He respected the girl’s wish and instead turned back to face her once again. As he did the world behind her was strangely indistinguishable. It was washed out in a sea of white haze that only seemed to be thickening. “Kurosanai…” She started.
“Mijuku I really don’t have time for this. I need to get back to the fight. I need to stop this new monstrously powered Akassa. If she is here that means that I am the last one standing.” Kurosanai cut her off with a short tone. If the others had fallen then the battle was truly greater than they had ever realized.
“Kuro…”
“I don’t have time Mijuku to play. I need to fight. There are far too many to protect.” He cut her off again. Now was not the time for this.
“Kuro.” Mijuku said firmly as her grasp tightened around his arm. Her little fingers were intertwined in his jacket material.
“NO! I NEED TO GET BACK TO THE FIGHT! THEY NEED ME! THEY ALL NEED ME!” Kurosanai barked harshly as he yanked her arm out of the girls grasp. He began to turn on his heels when he felt power just pressing down on him. His eyes flickered back to see the little girl’s body cloaked in the aura you would normally see from a fighter as they prepared to fight.
“LISTEN TO ME!” The little girl pleaded as power leaked from her body.
“I DON”T HAVE TIME FOR THIS!” Kurosanai yelled back as he once again tried to turn back behind him.
“YOU CAN’T! YOU CAN’T FIGHT ANYMORE!” The girl’s voice screeched as the white haze grew closer to the young girl’s back. It was at this moment that he noticed how tightly clenched her fist were. The young male went to retort to the comment when he noticed something strange. There was no pain anymore coursing through his body. There was no cold. There was no blood.
Buh bum
The sound ripped through his body and the very vibration seemed to cause his knees to shake. Something was off right now. Where was he? Why was this haze coming closer? Where was Akassa? The little girl’s head just continued to hang as her fists tightened. Something was not just off it was downright wrong.
Buh bum
This time the vibration emanated from his chest and his hand lurched to his chest. The vibration was not natural and the source of this was terrifying to the young man. It was in that moment that he noticed something that made his eyes go wide. The hand that had gone to his chest was his left hand. But that was impossible he had seen the results of his own blast. His arm had been vaporized and there was nothing left to it.
“How…that’s not possible…” Kurosanai stammered as he took a step back way from the young girl who had yet to lift her head to look at him. Without a second thought and a moment to give Mijuku the opportunity to stop him he spun around on his heels. What he saw was unbelievable. It left him speechless as his mouth moved with no sound. His body grew incredibly cold in that very moment and if he could have he would have bent over allowing his stomach to wretch its contents.
The image that was before was of himself. Hanging in the air several yards off the ground was Kurosanai. His mangled left arm hung by his side, his legs cut and torn. His right hand hung limply on the broken portion of the staff protruding from his chest. And the worst part was the blood. His body was just covered in blood and his eyes appeared to be lifeless. Kuro felt a slight tug on his sleeve but he did not turn around. He just could not take his eyes off of himself.
“I told you not to turn around…” Mijuku mumbled from his side.
“What am I seeing?” Kurosanai asked in a hushed tone.
“You are looking at the condition you are currently in. That is why I said you couldn’t fight anymore.” Mijuku responded in an equally hushed tone. Kurosanai remained silent as his hand slowly opened and closed. It would be several moments before he would speak again.
“Put me back.” The words were simple but carried the weight of the world behind them. There would only be silence from his small ancestor however and in the back of his mind began to churn. “Please put me back.” Mijuku would remain silent which only made the suspicion grow ever stronger. Pulling away from the Blind Faerie once more he began to walk forward towards his body.
Buh bum
This wave rocked his body and caused him to stumble but the boy would not be deterred. His job was not yet done. He needed to return and he needed to finish the fight. There was no one left to do so. He needed to be that person.
Buh bum
Another wave rolled over him this time causing him to stumble and fall to his knees. His breathing had become shallow and his vision began to become cast in the haze he felt crawling towards him. The ground below him was no longer the dirt and debris of Earth. It was slowly fading away into the white void that came for him. It was like someone was gradually stripped the image of Earth from before him. He couldn’t give up, not yet. Placing his hand flat against the ground he began to push upwards towards his feet.
Buh bum
Kurosanai sunk back down to his knees as he began to pant. He did not have any strength left in either his arms or his legs. Whatever that incessant sound and vibration was it was draining to him. His hands searched for a spot that would allow him to push upwards once again but they searched endlessly. From behind he could hear the light steps of Mijuku walking towards him. He would not meet her gaze as he tried to push himself up. Then something caught his attention, it cut through his field of vision like a knife through butter.
A tear.
This caused his gaze to drift upwards where he saw the little girl with tears rolling down her cheeks. The most striking feature of this scene was that Mijuku’s eyes were open but they weren’t brandishing her trademark Akai Kiretsu. Residing within her open eyes were a light sky blue pupil and a red tinge sneaking across the whites of her eyes. “Please, please just stop.” Her voice cracked.
“I can’t…I have too much to make up for…” Kurosanai responded through heavy breathing. Images of the young Muzai standing over the body of Arpatiko in the caves of Belegost began to glide into his view. Seeing the leader of the Kinigos picked up and tossed against the ceiling as the fire he had summoned ravaged the alien’s body. The sounds and smells were not far behind. The image began to transition into his standing at the empty village that he had been unable to save from Nasu Hattori. Of the burnt out houses that remained. The silence weighted on his body, the sight of the half destroyed hospital that he had been pulled from.
“Too many to protect…” The faces of everyone he had met over the last few months flashed before his eyes: the thousands of faces of people that he had never truly met on the campaign trail, those of his clan that had helped raise him from a young boy. Of Shumai his faithful nanny and housekeeper, of Izanami and her foul expression, his mother and father with proud looks on their faces. Their smiles brightened the image but also made it harder to look upon. Then finally the visage of his cousin and best friend, his stern yet calming smile adorned on his face. He had never gotten to see it after he returned from the mission for Prometheus Zex.
With their faces came the memories that were attached to them. Shumai chasing him out of the kitchen while he tried to steal some of the desserts that she had been making, him and his father training in the forest near their home. Their longs walks were always one of the best memories of his childhood he had. The way his hand laid on his shoulder with fatherly pride made his soul swell. Izanami shooting him dirty looks as he jested in the courtyard in front of her home, the long nights where he would sit up late talking with his mother and the stories she would tell him of the days before she met his father, the laughter and adventures that he would take with Mozoku into the wilderness, fishing and hunting and camping. Then came memories of those he had only just met fairly recently: the fight in the Gamma Slums with Conri and the joyful laughter they had shared over their time together, the respect that he had earned from Frigid during the Galactic Tournament, of the fights in front of the entire universal audience, the time that he had spent with Carla a few months ago and then that of the time with Mijuku. Her prodding and laughter helped brighten dark days as she attempted to lift his spirits. She had grown to be a comfort to the Muzai as he struggled to find himself again.
Buh bum
Tears began to roll down his cheeks as his shallow breathing began to become choked up. The little girl’s eyes continued to flood with tears as she saw one of the few people that she had ever truly connect with struggling before her. She walked forward and wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him close. His tears had turned to sobs and waling.
“I don’t want to die! I don’t want to die! Not here! I don’t want to die!” The boy wailed as he was held in Mijuku’s arms. Slowly the white haze overtook both of them and the wails of the prodigy of the Muzai faded into nothingness.
Buh bum
“FINAL FLASH!” The words rang out as the energy surged forward from Akassa’s hands. The bright light was all but blinding. The body of the Galatic Tournament fighter, of the candidate for Earth’s leadership, of the prodigy of the Muzai hung in the air. Just as the beam was on the helpless figure two words slipped from his lips.
“Not…yet…”
Buh…
The energy beam vaporized his body in an instant. Nothing would be left of him. The beam though would continue to eat away at the Earth as it plunged through the side of the crater that Kurosanai and Nasu had just created. It would continue to cut along its path for miles until finally fading away into nothingness.

The chaos in the center was all consuming. More and more people were pouring in with every passing second. Some were complaining of everything that was happening, others were yelling as something was not going their way and then there was the majority that was just frightened. Milis Knochen ran from person to person trying to help as best she could. Her nursing group had no idea what they had volunteered for when the army arrived suddenly pleading for their help but there was no way that any one of was going to say no and turn away someone in need.
As she ran from person to person she suddenly was stopped by a feeling that she could not explain. Images of the burning hospital from six months ago flooded into her mind and the young man that she had saved. The image of him sleeping on the air craft holding her hand as bandages wrapped around his skull from the wounds that he had just received. Why was remembering this right now? Turning to the direction of where Central City was she could not shake an ominous feeling. What had just happened?

The family sat around the television set. The television was barely picking up a signal as the image flickered in and out. On the screen was a reporter trying to explain the sights he was seeing. Of the massive globes of light and explosions that he saw off in the distance, the poor man struggled for words as he knew that he was one of the last reporters still in the area that was able to at least give those in the outside world a glimpse into what was happening in Central City.
Minato’s hand trembled as he shifted back and forth. Shumai’s hands covered her mouth as her eyes remained shut. Under her breath she had begun to say prayers to the gods for protection and health. Izanami watched with unwavering eyes but even she could not hide the fear and trepidation that resided in her heart. Mozoku stood in the corner trying to only listen half way to what was happening. He cursed to himself that there was nothing he could do from here and wished that he was more powerful in order to be there fighting. Ai’s eyes would look from the screen to the floor and then back to the screen.
They had all been aware that Kurosanai was in Central City at the time. They had seen him standing on camera as it panned across those that had arrived to confront the Saiyan Queen Akassa Hattori. She knew that her son would not back down and had begun to fear for his safety. The family had gathered around the television in Izanami’s house due to its size. They all waited with held breath as to the outcome of the battle. Each time Ai had felt her hope beginning to slip away her husband would gently rest his hand on her shoulder to try and reassure that their son was safe. Eventually though it was too much for her to handle and she got up. She walked out of the room with only glances from the others. No one tried to stop her.
Stepping through the courtyard door she took a step off of the main floor and into the courtyard itself. She had hoped that the fresh air would be enough to calm her nerves and it seemed to be working. Unbeknownst to Ai however the pale ghostly image of a little girl had appeared behind her. Her red and white dress was one of the few defining features. The little girl would float through the air and then right up to the ear of Ai Muzai. Gently the little girl would whisper a few words into the mother’s ear before fading away from view.
It took a few minutes to sink in but Ai’s mouth fell open as tears began to run down her face. Her hands clamped over her mouth as she struggled to take a breath in. As she left the first breath out it was only a soft whine through another strained breath in tears began to run down her cheeks. This time her breath out would be of a pained wail that would echo throughout the courtyard.
The sound of a pained mother’s cries would fill the air of not only the courtyard of the home. They would spread through the compound’s building as they sat in silence. The cries would continue to carry out to the warm hills that surrounded the compound. There was nothing else to be heard. No animals, no bugs, no wind.
Only the suffering wails of a mother.
