Prometheus stood on the grandest of stages, the coliseum platform having been transformed into a showcase for the closing ceremonies. Towards the center stood a small raised dais in which the new champion was to stand. The small platform was to symbolize that he now stood above all others that had entered the tournament, had outlasted them all. Conri Lane would stand even higher than Prometheus Zex himself, at least while the small ceremony was underway. Standing near the dais the Lord of Alpha Prime was ready to announce the champion, and call him to the floor one last time.
Taking a look around the coliseum he saw many faces in the crowd, a good number of which were Conri’s fellow combatants in the tournament. All had lost except him, from the smallest of fighters like the small alien girl Hana to the largest like the fluffy beast known as Truffle. Some had been low class warriors of their respective races while others had been Prince’s and prodigies. None of them mattered anymore; the only one that people cared to see was the blue haired half-saiyan that had proven himself to be the best.
After the end of the fight the day before the residents and visitors to Alpha Prime had gone on to celebrate the New Year along with championship bought. Many had no doubt spent the night drinking or participating in some sort of other celebratory activity, but now so many had returned to the coliseum to view the closing ceremonies. Some might have thought it strange that the actually crowning of the Champion had been held off to the following day, but after his fight with the incredibly resilient Icejin, Frigid, Conri had been in no shape to be the center of attention. There had been much to celebrate the night before and now there was one last event to close out the first ever Galactic Tournament.
Turning on the microphone hidden in the folds of his robs Zex smiles, throwing his arms out wide as he addresses the crowd.
”Friends! I welcome you all back to Coliseum Immortal for one final show! Most of you have spent the last week watching some of the best fighters in the known universe giving it their all in an attempt to prove that they were the best. One has proven himself the strongest fighter and it is time that he gets his just reward. Now without any further delay I give you Conri Lane, the first ever Champion of the Galactic Tournament!”
Roars erupt from the assembled crowd joined by cheers and claps that all meld into one overpowering sound. Motioning towards the entryway Prometheus calls for the Champion to make his way onto the stage. The closing ceremonies had begun.
(Anyone may enter the thread, but please realize this is mainly a thread for Conri and Zex to award him his title. That said feel free to join if you wish to watch the ceremony.)

It had all been a shock to him, he had lost consciousness from the explosion in the center of the ring. He had awoken in the rejuvenation chamber with the medical staff surrounding him and Frigid to make sure they were alright. It took a while for him to even be able to get out of the chamber safely, his body had suffered so much damage in this last fight. The electrical attacks had caused some serious burns that he hadn't noticed at the time. The oddest thing had been the loss of his tail, he had reached the age where it was no longer really possible for him to regrow it.
It wasn't the first time he'd lost his tail, but knowing that it wouldn't grow back left him with an empty feeling. That had all been drowned out the moment he exited the chamber, however, as he had been greeted by one of those in charge of the tournament. The news of what the outcome of the final round left him in a bit of a stupor that he had actually accomplished his goal. He was the champion of the tournament after a series of hard fought battles that served to push his limits. He had defeated an opponent of incredible caliber and made the last stretch to stand above them all. He would have to find Frigid later and thank him for that amazing battle, it amazed him that the Icejin hadn't won.
The ceremony for crowning him would be held tonight, and he supposed that gave him time to think things over. With his name being known throughout the Galaxy now, it would be a good stepping stone towards his real goal. The sheer fact that his publicity would be bringing in the clientele as well, but that would be saved for the ceremony. Putting his clothes on, he figured it was probably about time to stop having the medical staff if he was alright since he'd been sitting naked for a while. Minutes seemed to pass like days as he waited for the clean bill of health to be given to him. When the doctor did finally come, it was also with one of the officials for the tournament here to escort him to the waiting area.
This time he would be waiting for the moment that he was crowned the champion, but he'd taken something away from all those battles. He wasn't the best fighter, granted he was tenacious and managed to pull through victorious, but he had a lot of room to grow. The last battle had especially shown him that, as it seemed by sheer luck that he had won. It had been such an intense and close match, it gave him what he wanted to an extent. It showed him a vast universe full of fighters that could push him well beyond his limits and help him to evolve. When he was done here, he was going to have to start traveling and seeing what other kind of people were out there.
Finally, his name had been called and the Half-Saiyan started his walk through the entryway he was a bit taken back by the roar of the crowd. It seemed that he had earned himself a lot more fans recently, and he appreciated that they were cheering for him. Taking the time to greet them, he turned back towards the center arena and ascended the stairs. Taking a deep breath he tried to relax a bit, this was all still a bit overwhelming to him. Nodding his head to Prometheus, looking around at the crowds of people once more. There was one thing that he had to do now, and that was to hold his head high for all those that had lost. It wouldn't do if the one that had come out the champion didn't show some pride not would it do any good for the people he was representing.

Standing in the center of the arena Zex waited, watching the entry way with all the others that had assembled to view the ceremony. As the Champion emerged the crowd cheered even louder, shouts and screams coming from all parts of the stadium. Prometheus himself clapped for the half-saiyan, the Lord not the type to yell and shout about anything. Clapping as the man makes his way to the platform he looks him up and down.
Beyond his blue hair and oddly colored outfit there wasn’t really anything that stood out about the half-saiyan, nothing that screamed Champion. Perhaps that was why the cheers were so loud, a virtually unknown to many of these people had won the tournament, someone that most likely had a similar background to many of them. If he could fight through the tournament, beating the strongest and most well known of the assembled fighters than what else could he achieve? What could anyone achieve if such an unexpected Champion was about to be crowned?
Zex had to admit it was a nice story, one fitting for the first ever Galactic Tournament. How spectacular would it have really been if Ninjin Hattori had won the whole thing? Just another notch on the overly proud Saiyan’s belt no doubt, no, this was probably the best outcome. As the host of the tournament he had no real preference for who had won it, for Zex it was not about the winner or most of the combatants, but more about those watching it. In his mind the tournament had been a complete success and it was going to be the first of many.
As Conri made his way up onto the platform there was one feature that differed from when he had last stepped onto it, his tail. Having lost it in the fight with Frigid it was quite the loss for the half-saiyan, at least Zex thought so. Without the appendage he no longer had access to that powerful Oozaru that had helped him win the match, not that the warrior was useless without it. The Lord wondered how the fighter himself felt about it.
Once they were close enough Prometheus extends his hand to offer a hand shake before motioning to the raised dais behind him. ”Congratulations Conri Lane, if you wouldn’t mind please make your way onto the podium so I can officially name you the Champion.” As long as Conri complies Prometheus would then turn to address the crowd again, switching his microphone back on.
”Ladies and Gentleman, here he is, your Champion, Conri Lane!”[/b] Stepping to the side Zex motions to the half-saiyan with his hand as the crowd erupts into cheers again.

This would be a proud moment for him, but he wouldn't let the tournament itself define him. No, he had much greater things in mind to accomplish, and it was just a matter of time before he reached them. Standing at the top, he knew that he'd fought hard against each of his opponents to get where he was today. Watching the crowds of people, he realized he probably wasn't much different from them really. He grew up on a farm out in the country, and wasn't a prodigy or a member of royalty, instead he simply fought with everything he had. He was sure the others had as well, but what he had just edged out in the end, it wasn't a matter of better or worse. Just the way that skill, luck, and all those other factors rolled to lay his path to victory.
"Thank you," he accepted the congratulations graciously, making sure to keep his manners about him. Waving to his fans, he was glad that they supported him in his time of victory, and that he could show people a path. Just cause you were a regular person, did not mean you couldn't accomplish great things. Right now, he proved that even the little folk could stand tall amongst the giants. Granted, he didn't think of his rivals in the tournaments that way, but he was generally the underdog.
He'd managed to get his name known to the universe, now it was time to do something with it. He would use the tournament for his own purposes, as he was sure everyone else had down to some extent. Then again, Kurosanai likely didn't have much of an ulterior motive, and some others. Still, winning the tournament in and of itself wouldn't do much, so he would need to take advantage that it was spreading his name around. Plus, he did still have a current job to do with the target standing but a few feet away from him. Obviously, none of the rumors that said he was some horror from the deep were flat out wrong.
He had to wonder if there was a prize for winning as well, as nice as winning was, he needed some funding for a ship. Maybe Prometheus would be willing to give him enough to get a basic model, but he wouldn't ask outright here. That was rude and he had to set a good example as a role model, especially for the little kids.

Kurosanai could not have been prouder for the man that he had befriended in the Gamma Slums. He had watched as Conri went on to fight none other than the Prince of Saiyans himself, Ninjin Hattori, and beat him to move on. It was a hard won victory but one that probably stung a bit for the royal family as it was no secret that Ninjin was considered one of the crown jewels in the Saiyan Kingdom. Add to the fact, whether they knew or not, that Conri despised putting someone on a pedestal based on someone’s family or given titles. He was a man that preferred to earn each title that had been given to him. From there he moved onto the finals to fight the man…alien…thing…that had beaten Kurosanai soundly in the second round aired on television, Frigid. It was a bit bitter sweet as Kurosanai knew he was not fully healed going into the fight and once the contest began it was all but obvious that the prodigy of the Muzai was not going to win the fight. Instead he wandered around the slums of Omega looking to take in the sites. By doing so he had actually ended up missing the majority of the matches in the tournament. He could hardly name any of the fighters that competed but that was beside the point.
Due to the desire of seeing the final match of the galactic tournament Kurosanai was actually not able to get into the arena and as such was forced to return to the living quarters that he had been staying at. The fight was truly a marvelous bought as he was unsure of which way it would go all the way up until the end. During the match Kurosanai was finally able to see the fabled Oozaru form that everyone of Saiyan descent had in their blood. It was truly terrifying but what was even more terrifying was that Frigid was able to keep on fighting despite facing such a beast. It was a credit to his power and tenacity, one that Kuro had shown in their fight. But in the end Frigid severed the tail of Conri Lane and forced him to return to his normal form once again. From there the two engaged in brutal exchanges until finally they both launched massive ki attacks at one another. Kurosanai watched as the screen was filled with smoke and light as the two attacks destabilized one another. This resulted in both Conri and Frigid to get flung off into opposite walls of the coliseum. The audience, including Kuro, was left waiting as tournament officials reviewed the official tapes to see who had in fact hit the wall first. It became knowledge that Frigid had in fact hit the wall first and as such Conri was declared the victor.
The crowd roared over the television and Kurosanai remembered dancing in his living quarters out of excitement for his fellow Earth inhabitant. He had only met him once in person but he seemed like a genuine person and one that could become a great friend. In the meantime he was left dancing out of excitement for the win. But now as he stood in the sea of onlookers his level excitement began to grow once again. His hands joined in the echoing of sound that perpetuated throughout the coliseum. It didn’t matter which race the audience member was a part of they knew that they were witnessing history right now and instead absorbed every moment. Kuro could not help but smell the sweat rolling down the packed crowd, the grunts of different languages and the rainbow of different styles of clothing.
“Way to go Conri!” Kurosanai yelled out into the distance. He raised one of his hands above his head and began to fist bump in excitement. Several of the people looked at him strange for a moment before slowly joining him in the motion. Before long Kuro without intentionally trying he had gotten about fifty people going along in simultaneous rhythm with him. They were all there in order to cheer on the champion of the tournament and to show him the support. This moment was his and his alone to enjoy.
“This is all for you man!” Kurosanai called out with a large smile on his face.

Smiling as Conri took the stage Prometheus went silent once more as the crowd erupted into cheers all over again. They did seem to love him, and his victory here would no doubt carry over to many other places for the young half-saiyan. Your name and title was not necessarily everything, but as many with one knew, it sure didn’t hurt. One like Prometheus could gain access to many places and receive special treatment simply because he was the ruler of Alpha Prime. Now Conri may not rule a planet or station, but his hard fought victory had been broadcast across the stars and many would now recognize him.
Letting the cheers die down again Zex then turns his microphone back on, stepping in front of the Champion, looking up at him on his raised podium.
”So Conri, what do you plan to do with this new found fame of yours? Might you buy some large estate and live in luxury through promotions and merchandise, or do you hope it will bring even more fighters to you so that they may challenge you to test their strength? Or maybe you will just enjoy some time with all the loving ladies?” Prometheus gives him an awkward wink, the alien not used to such talk, but hearing the crowd laugh and cheer knew it was appropriate.
”Well no matter what it is I am sure you won’t be sitting around in one place for long will you? I have been informed that you took the shuttle here, like many others, but now that you are the Champion I do not think that is really appropriate for someone of your stature.” Again Zex smiles and then motions to the largest screen in the arena, the crowd following the motion to see what might be revealed.
”No, you need not travel in those cramped cars any longer. Along with your title of Champion of the first ever Galactic Tournament I present you with your very own ship in which you can travel the cosmos!” As the announcement was made the screen would display the mentioned prize, the image of a rather impressive ship spinning and flashing on the large screen.
(A ship will be added to your profile at the end of this thread. I did not go into detail explaining it so that way you can describe it and have it look as you see fit. The ship you have won is equivalent to the Standard Spaceship, except instead of seating two people it sits three, making it unique. Also it comes with one reserve tank full of the Nitrous Fuel upgrade. Enjoy!)

Everything was coming to a low point once more with the people settling into their seats and calming down. They had cheered to their heart's content and it was time to proceed with the next set of events for the closing ceremonies. Of course, he had no idea what was in store for him, especially from the question that Zex had asked. Especially the part about ladies, and he wanted to answer, but figured it would be rude to interrupt him as he was making his speech.
It was what was said next that really stirred his curiosity though, as there was mention of him arriving on a shuttle. What did a shuttle have to do with...ohhhh, he could only stand wide-eyed at the screen for a few moments as his prize was revealed. Looking it over, it was a thing of beauty, honestly. That was the only single word that he could use to describe it and it fit so well for a ship like that. From head to toe it had a silver-colored body, that was designed for a sleek look for the ship.
It looked like it might almost it might be more suited as the blade to a dagger with how the front narrowed into a fine point. The sides expanded out a bit, growing taller and wider at the same time as it went further back. When you got to the rear is where it really flushed out in size, and expanded sideways to almost look like a guard for the blade. A mental chuckle at that, it looked like it was a dagger meant to fly through space.
Finally on the ends of the wings were guns mounted as a means of defense for the vehicle. All around if he had to make a guess of the outer dimensions, it would be eighty meters long, ninety-four wide, and about 20 tall. A well rounded ship, that would be able to accommodate a lot of the newer training technologies. He had to say, that if he was going to be flying around the universe, he couldn't think of much better than this ship. It wouldn't be for a large group, but it would more than easily fit for all of his needs.
"Thank you, Prometheus. I appreciate this gift very much," he said with nothing but sincerity. This was the best thing that he could ask for, and it would be put into action very shortly. The only thing he would need to do now was to think of a name that would be just as fitting for this ship.

The crowd had become lively again. Raging from their seats, cheering and chanting the victors name, they were ecstatic! Man felt he would never understand the surplus of emotions living beings output for such an event. He didn't understand just how big the man's title was and the things it implied. "Champion of the Galactic Tournament!" Lord Zex announced. According to the demographics of the population attending and those who participated in the tournament, Man could safely assume that 'Galactic' derived from Galaxy; which, conforming to his databases, was a massive gravitational system consisting of stars, stellar remnants, and dark matter.
But although he had all of this basic information stored within his drive; they were nothing but words. To him, they held no meaning because he had never been into the void of space or traveled from one planet to the next -at least, not consciously. Besides the point, he still couldn't decide how a winner had been chosen out of two warriors who had simultaneously fallen off the ring. Nor could be fathom what occurred to the saiyans tail. He could have sworn he had seen one before blacking out, else he wouldn't have known he was a saiyan in the first place.
Man thought everyone would go home after the fight was over, but they all remained, listening to a semi-monologue of Zex speaking to Conri Lane. He wondered why the saiyan was being rewarded with a ship, or why winning would have implied the attraction of the opposite sex. He could understand admiration though. Man didn't particularly 'admire' Conri, but he had certainly learned quite a bit by spectating the match. He got to observe a fight between Icejin and Saiyans first-hand. The fact that a saiyan won seemed to enforce what his masters had told him. Icejin just can't seem to defeat them. But perhaps it was because a saiyan was simply too strong.
Why they chose to use Man was unknown. He wouldn't have been able to scratch half of the participating combatants in the tournament, yet his destiny far surpassed their capabilities. For Man to succeed he would need to be powerful enough to single-handedly overwhelm the competition with his awesome might. Studying all the fighters brought insight into what it would be like to fight them without having to do it himself. He assessed their abilities and strong point while assuming that any other irrelevant factor he was not observing remained constant without change; as is the custom for scientific research. In the instance that something is observed, you observe it and only that which is questioned, assuming all else is constant and unchanging.

As the prize was revealed on the screen Prometheus made sure to observe the Champions reaction. Zex of course hoped that he was pleased with the prize for it was no cheap ship that he was receiving. In fact it had been custom made for the tournament and as far as the Lord knew was quite unique in design. Beyond the fact he wanted to please the Champion and all of those that were watching with an adequate reward for his endeavors, Zex also hoped the prize could soon be used for his needs as well. Conri’s thanks would draw his attention back to the half-saiyan, the alien nodding in response.
With the ceremonies nearing their end there was only one thing left to do really, let the Champion say a few words if he chose, the stage was his after all. Slipping the microphone from his robes Prometheus speaks once more before handing the device over to him.
”Is there anything you wish to say to your fans Conri? I am sure they wish to hear a little from the Champion.”
After handing the microphone over, if Conri chose to take it, Zex would take a couple steps back, not wanting to block anyone’s view of the champion should he choose to speak. Many of the fans cheer even as Zex asks if the man wished to talk so the Lord didn’t doubt he would say at least a few words. One had to entertain their fans did they not? Smiling some the alien lord was quite pleased with the tournament as a whole, this ceremony simply the icing on the cake. The whole event had entertained the masses and given him the information he needed in order to move forward with his plans, hopefully everything would continue to move just as smoothly.

This was the best prize he could hope for, and with that part of his plans actually accomplished there was one more thing to do. As it happened, Prometheus Zex had actually asked him if he had anything to say to his fans. This was his best opportunity to make use of the tournament to get his name out there. When the microphone was offered to him, he accepted it happily, ready to get things started for himself.
"Thank you, Prometheus Zex. First off, I would like to thank you all for your support throughout the tournament, I appreciate it. I would also like to thank my opponents for the amazing fights that I've been through," he figured it would be good to make sure he recognized them. They had been a part of him getting to the top whether they knew it or not, so he wanted to thank them. He just hoped it wouldn't come off as an insult to anyone.
"Now, there is one thing I would like to say; I will be forming an organization that will be made up of the strongest people around, all those that want to be a part of it come talk to me about the details later," he announced to the audience, leaving it at that. There was no reason to spoil what kind of group it was going to be, he would let the individual decide if they wanted to join or not. It was for those that were amongst the strongest around, which included those that had been in the tournament. Though, that was only if they wanted to be a part of it as well, he wouldn't force anyone.
With that said, he handed the microphone back to Zex, thanking him once more for the ship. It was the key to forming this group as it would serve as the starting base of operations for his organization. As he earned money he would get a larger ship, but for now it was perfect.

Standing to the side as the Champion spoke the alien Lord was impressed with the statement he chose to make. Starting an organization of his own…interesting. Now that his name was known across the galaxy it wasn’t an impossible thing to do, although it did seem he was hoping people might come to him. Zex wondered how many might contact him, and if he expected them to work for him or with him. As the half-saiyan finished talking Zex takes back the microphone, giving a slight nod to the Champion.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, Conri Lane!” With that announcement the crowd would cheer again for their new Champion. Now that Conri had been given the chance to say his piece the ceremony was over and he was free to leave. Clapping himself Prometheus motions to the exit letting the half-saiyan know he was free to leave. Of course he didn’t have to if he changed his mind and wished to speak again, but that was up to him.
If he did choose to leave cheers, shouts and clapping would follow him all the way out. Zex would also watch him leave still planning on inviting him to the small dinner party he had planned. Conri was among the short list that the Lord of Alpha Prime wanted to talk with, even if he was planning to start his own organization. Perhaps the Half-saiyan would put his own organization on hold to take advantage of the opportunity Zex was going to offer him, but then again perhaps not. One thing was for sure though, when Conri Lane finally exited the coliseum the first ever Galactic Tournament was officially over.

With having said his peace, he would wait for those interested in the proposition to come to him, only those that were willing to be free from the rule of others. He wasn't the type to be a dictator or force others into doing things for him, so if there weren't a lot of people to join he would continue to work on his own. Then through word of mouth of his exploits those seeking to enter into his group would come to him, either way his organization was going to start from today onward. So, with that, he had said everything that he wanted to here today and would not linger about any further. When Prometheus motioned that he was free to leave, he nodded and stepped down from the dais, walking towards the exit proud walk. The shouts, cheers, and clapping as he left leaving a lasting impression on him, as a reminder that he had made it all the way through the tournament to be crowned the champion.
"Well, guess it's time I showed the universe what I'm all about as well," he spoke to himself, heading towards the area where his new ship would be located. He wanted to get a good look of the insides to see just what kind of ship he'd gotten himself and what all was there to do with it. Either way, he would need to start earning up some money to put even more work into it, just to make it a fully operational base type of ship that he could use for his organization. With that, he left the arena and headed towards the space port, ready to examine every inch of the ship he had one in full detail. (Exit, stage right! Zeni please~)

And so, the ceremony was over. The crowd was ecstatic to hear his announcement. Man could already hear numerous whispers considering the proposal. The android couldn't help but question the method though. 'An organization of the strongest,' or so he said. Would there be another tournament or competition to determine which fighters are suitable to his needs? Wouldn't it have been better to just ask the runner-ups right off the bat? Or was he going to evaluate them through Power-level. Man still failed to find any logical reasoning behind the entire event. He had calculated their respective abilities and concluded on the victor. He was correct on every instance -although some managed to surprise him, the result was the same every time. So why did they need to go through such a vast process instead of just reading their power-levels? They could have spent their remaining time doing something much more productive. Lord Arctic had previously explained it to him, but apparently it was something a machine like himself just wasn't capable of comprehending.
Man was ultimately curious about the organization spawning at the horizon. His system was made to yearn for information and now he was obliged to follow-up on the subject. Without a trace, the android would vanish while no one was looking.

(Just as a small reminder, saga bonuses do not apply to zeni. I only mention this to help maximize your gains; also zeni rewards are highest when "work" is done over the course of a thread to earn the character money. Apologies for intervening, just wanted to say something before the thread was put up for grading.)
I was at a misunderstanding with the saga bonus and would like to make note for everyone that it does apply to zeni gains received from a saga thread. I apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this may have caused. Though my intentions were good, trying to maximize everyone's gains, my information was wrong. The second half of my previous comment stands however.

Prometheus Zex claps along with the cheering crowd as Conri Lane takes his exit. The mans departure signified two things in the eyes of the alien Lord. The first thing his exit signified was the end of the Galactic Tournament. Over the last few days some of the best fighters in the known Universe had graced the coliseum, putting on one of the greatest shows in recent history. More importantly though, at least to Zex, the half-saiyans departure signified the dawn of a new age. Of course it was the new millennium, the year 2000 and it in fact was a new age. Beyond the date though it was the rebirth of Alpha Prime. So many had travelled to the "dangerous system" in order to view the tournament and despite all the vicious rumors out there had enjoyed themselves. Even Saiyan Royalty had made its way to enter and view the tournament. With this new found publicity and newly discovered group of fighters, many exposed to each other for the first time, the future held much promise. Promise Prometheus looked to take advantage of. As Conri Lane left the coliseum for the last time the Lord of Alpha Prime could not hide his smile.
(With that the Galactic Tournament Saga is officially over! Thanks to everyone that took part in it. We as staff loved reading all your work and although the saga went a bit longer than we anticipated we hope you enjoyed. Stay tuned for the next saga of Dragon Ball Awakening.)
(Oh and Zeni for Zex)
