Nex awoke with a lazy yawn, his eyes still shut whis his body was sprawled out which with his size took up a good amount of space. He knew without opening seeing his surrondings that this was not his wasteland that he had grown so accustomed too. For one it was much to cool, the sun wasn't beating down on his skin like usual and insteado of yeilding sand under his body he felt blades of grass on solid ground. He could smell the salty sea and hear the waves laping against the shore which soothed him in an odd way.
The dull ache in his gut alerted him of the need to feed, something he seemed to do much more frequently than usual but thankfully it wasn't the mind numbing hunger that caused his path of destruction a few days ago. Finally opening his eyes the monster was greeted with branches full of leaves hanging over him to protect him from the sun. Normally Nex didn't think or even care to think about anything that wasn't power, food, or both, but right now he allowed himself to relax for a while longer before going to slate his hunger.

Carmen had been exploring a great deal lately, and running into numerous people throughout her aimless travels. The Makaio never really had a specific destination in mind when she set out and having no true home had no where to return too. Her first adventure had been in Central City where she had been innocently eating donuts before being drawn into a conflict that wasn't hers. Well perhaps drawn in wasn't the correct term, more like jumped in. Shortly after that, fed up with the busy city, the pink haired girl had wandered off into the wilderness around Mt. Paozu. There she a trio of strange individuals had interrupted her peaceful exploring only for them to disappear back into the wild as quickly as they had come. Earth sure was a strange place. With the desire to explore more, and find a place she might eventually call home Carmen had begun to venture to various the islands that scattered the area.
Humming to herself the female walks along the beach, boots in one hand as she splashes through the lapping waves. Having rolled her pants up some they now resembled capris more than anything as her bare feet press into the cool sand. To any on looker she appeared fully human, her demon heritage only hinted at when she released her full power. Both of her pistols sat at her hips like always, the weapons almost seeming out of place on her delicious looking frame. Eyes out to the ocean Carmen was off in her own little world as she walked along the beach, smiling every time a gust of salty air blew past, tossing her pink hair around. Unbeknownst to her the Makaio was passing by one of the few other sentient beings this far out on the isles, one who also seemed to be enjoying the peace and quiet on this beautiful day.

Maybe the drowsey state of mind was fading and allowing his senses to come back to him, but Nex felt the familiar pressure from a powerful being closing in. It was the same sensation he felt, but that didn't mean it was the same fighters that had challenged him before. Still, Nex rose into sitting position before turning towards the source of his minor discomfort. She appeared to be one of the soft-skins, a girl still in her child years with a power to rival his own. Where were these soft-skin coming from, why were they so strong?
Before he realized it he was on his feet and walking towards the girl each step bringing him closer as his feet touched the familiar surface of sand once more. "Soft-skin..." The words escaped him like broken glass through a dish washer, mangled by his tongue but hopefully it was enough to catch her attention without causing her to panic. Nex could feel the throbbing in his chest start to quicken as he drew closer, but it was easy enough to ignore.

Waves lapped at her ankles as she walked along the beach, the cool water quite refreshing in its contrast to the bright sun that burned overhead. Temperature never really bothered the human looking Makaio, perhaps it had to do with her unnatural nature and the traits that came with being a demon. Still humming and distracted by the sparkling ocean Carmen does not hear his approaching footsteps, nor does she notice his signature. The girl’s eyes were actually focused on a white bird as it bobbed farther out in the water, rising up and down with each wave that went under it. Part of her wondered why humans were so different from the rest of the creatures on this planet; it was odd how the universe played things out. Humans had been the ones to “settle” the world, yet all they had done was ruin it.
When Nex decided to speak, his words harsh and slightly broken Carmen’s ears twitch slightly. Not at all startled the Makaio turns to face him, her eyes widening as she does. They do not widen out of fear, but out of shock. The pink haired girl had met an assortment of people so far in her recent travels and although they had varied in appearance, none had looked anything like this one. Larger than her, not something that was uncommon, the creatures dark blue skin stood out amongst the sand he stood upon, his white hair standing out as well. Looking him up and down Carmen does not miss the more animalistic features like his horns and elongated canines. Blinking, but still standing calmly and not feeling threatened the lithe female does not grab for her weapons…yet.
”Soft skin?” One of her eyebrows lifts up, not exactly sure what he meant. Looking at the texture of skin along with the tightly packed muscle beneath it she had to wonder if everyone had soft skin when compared to him. Smiling some she waits for him to clarify.

Nex continued to stare at the girl and if his face expressed his confusion he did not know it. What was a soft-skin? She was, this human was, but Nex had a hard time saying the word and S's were easier on his tounge so soft-skin is what he called them. "You...Soft-skin." Nex was intrigued, not that he'd ever use the word, again thick tounge hard speech, but he was interested. Since...feeding on the other soft-skin Nex found himself thinking a little clearer, like trying to move through a dense fog his mind was slightly easier to navigate as it lessened, but it was small progress.
She didn't appear to be afraid and that spoke volumes to him even if he didn't know it. Everyone, literally everyone that saw him or felt his power trembled in fear or anger, most times both and they never hesitated to attack him. She did not. His curiosity may have brought his feet to her, but there was nothing he needed from her. "Strong..." Another word escaped him while he was lost in thought, but he felt no danger so he sat down before once again lying in the sand. Nex liked the way it felt against his skin, and without the intense heat of the desert it was even more enjoyable.

She was a soft skin? Looking at the pale flesh of her arm the Makaio couldn’t deny that her skin was soft. Still Carmen had never been called that before nor had she heard any other creature referred to as such…this one was odd beyond his looks. Eyes locked on him, smile still on her lips she didn’t find him threatening even if his physical form was a little intimidating. The blue creature came no closer to her as he labeled her “strong.” Able to sense his own power signature now that she was focusing the female was surprised to find his signature to be on par with hers, to the exact number as a matter of fact. Now Carmen was not a believer in fate, even if her history pointed to greater powers, but she did find it odd that the two of them met on this far off beach, their signatures identical in strength. A curiosity indeed…
Oddly enough the creature settles down onto the sand, lying down upon the warm beach. With no further conversation seeming to be had Carmen walks over towards him, stepping alongside him. Looking down and still smiling the pink hair girl drops into a crouch in order to bring herself even closer to the creature. Eyes on his face, Carmen tilts her head to the side a little, curiosity visible in her expression. Whatever this person…animal was it seemed to struggle with words, the few it had spoken tangled and rough. Perhaps it had a name, she would give it hers first.
”My name is Carmen, what is yours?”

A name? Her head filled his vision while blocking the sun and casting him in shadow, but Nex could have been looking at a brick wall for all he care as his mind drifted into memories long past. The pod never gave him a name to latch onto and Nex never bothered to find one or refer to himself with one. He contiuned to stare at the creature before him, mind still adrift until finally he found something that would suffice, "NEX..." that was the writing he remembered, three letters that severed as his window to the outside world. Nex couldn't know that it was an anagram or that he was the tenth and final attempt at a perfect life form by his creator, but that didn't matter now.
Now he had a name, Nex, it would do. While that was all good and well he still had not idea what to do with the soft-skin, "You...name...." If it wasn't too rough on him maybe the scary looking creature would use it.

It turned out that this world was quite a boring one with all of its laws and stupid ideals about morality, he didn't care about such nonsense. It was a bit annoying to have to act like he did all the time as well, but it was a necessity if he wanted to prepare for the future. For now, he had taken the opportunity to fly away from the hordes of imbeciles, if not then he would have likely just gone on a killing spree to silence them. Still, he had to admit that this planet did have quite the enjoyable scenery with all the different colors blending together as if it was an artist's canvas. With having read about this group of islands while researching into this planet to learn the customs, he figured these islands would be a better place to spend his time and build his strength. It would be foolish to initiate his plan without both the numbers and power to back it up, and that would take time as well as careful planning to see each piece of the puzzle fall into its proper place.
He had been in thought of what to do next when he sensed two incredible powers nearby that were both quite large even a bit over his own base power. A smirk spread across his lips as new ideas floated through his mind before he finally decided. With a swift turn, he adjusted his flight pattern to aim straight for them, wondering if they could sense his own approach. It didn't take him too long to arrive at the island, and took a quick survey of the two that were on the sand. One was a young-looking woman with pink hair, with a rather impressive body he might add, and the other one looked rather impressive himself, what with such a muscled frame and the color scheme of his body could be good for intimidation. The corner of his lip twitched with a smile, he would have to see what each one was like and try to get a read of them, he maybe have found potential recruits for his mission.
They seemed to be having a bit of a chat from his vantage point, but he supposed that he should go and introduce himself to the duo. Lowering himself with a bit of speed, he dropped down roughly thirty feet away from the pair simply so that there was room between them. It would be rude to drop in right on top of them after all, would it not? Instead, he would approach them slowly so as to not put them on alert that he might try to harm them, especially when the truth was so far from the truth as well.
"Greetings, friends," the only words he spoke at first, as he wanted to gauge them a bit before he would make his offer.

"NEX..." The creature almost seemed unsure if the answer he was giving correct, hesitation in his voice. Remaining in her crouched position with her hands on her knees to steady herself Carmen kept a smile on her face. This creature was being friendly so far and despite his appearance seemed relatively good natured....sort of like a monstrous teddy bear. Of course she had no idea what his past contained, but that was fine, the Makaio tended not to look to deeply into people before deciding if she liked them or not. The first person she met after awakening was a shirtless drunkard who had thrown a car through the front of a bar, he was an entertaining one. As odd as she was and as odd as this one looked the two already had something in common, they enjoyed the beach.
His next words cause her brow to crease slightly in confusion. She had just given him her name yet he was asking for it again? Pausing for a moment it dawns on her, the hesitation with his own name helping the pink haired female to figure it out or at least think she figured it out. The creature wanted her to name it! Ohh, she had never had a pet before and since this creature seemed to have no master it must have wanted her to help train it! The girls mind was no doubt taking things a little far, but even though she was in her twenties physically she had only been alive for just over 12 years so the path seemed logical to her. Tapping her chin Carmen ponders what to name her new friend, not wanting to rush such an important part of the pet/owner relationship.
Before figuring out a name for the creature someone calls out to them. Looking up from her crouched position Carmen is surprised to see a second individual so far out in the isles. Like the one that was lying on the ground before her this one also seemed friendly, going as far as to address them as friends. Having been mostly alone for the part of her life she could remember Carmen was always glad to meet others. She had met several in the last couple weeks although not having stuck around with any. Many didn't understand the Makaio which made it hard for any real friendship to develop....maybe these two would be different.
"Hello stranger, can we help you?" [/div]

Nex allowed himself to raise when the other power came forth, where were all these strong soft-skins coming from? It was a man not much different from any other human he'd encounterd, truly they all looked the same just varied in height and color, but these had power to set them apart. From what he sensed there was no reason to be on his guard, indeed this one was weaker than either of them but Nex knew from past experiences that power could be hidden and expanded. He didn't need to speak, the girl had done that already, but he eyed him anyway just incase he felt the need to strike.

They both turned to face him as he called out, and he had interrupted their conversation which had not been his intention. Ah well, now that he had a closer look at them he could take in the details of their structures more intently and examine in detail their possible strengths and weaknesses. The woman was the first to speak up and her question almost caused a grin to form, but no, he needed to keep his composure for now before he dove right into the details of his coming here. He needed information on each of them before he could step forward with an offer, and to do that, he would need to play the casual man for the time being.
"Oh, I apologize, I hadn't meant to interrupt you two. I had just sensed your powers and was curious as to why you both would be out here on your own," he rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. Information gathering was his priority now, so just being a simple person being curious seemed like an appropriate cover for him. The woman seemed to be the more talkative of the two, so he figured she might be easier to find something to use to get her on his side.
"Oops, I forgot my manners. My name is Alexander Luckens," he said with a slight bow to introduce himself.

Nex did not seemed worried about this new arrival any more than she did. Carmen was perfectly capable of handling herself so the Makaio saw no threat from this man; in fact she was interested to learn about him as well. Although she tended to have an itchy trigger finger and a small knack for destruction the female wasn’t really a violent creature, at least not one with malicious intent. In her mind a little destruction was fun and she had never had the intentions of killing anyone during any of her more violent encounters, but if someone had gotten in the way…it would have been their fault wouldn’t it?
Standing up she steps around in front of the creature, strangely enough feeling a desire to protect him. He did not look like he was incapable of defending himself, but so far he had come across as a little on the simple side, he might not be able to react quickly enough to defend himself in time. That assessment was wrong of course for if she had known his past she would have known the monster was more than capable of protecting himself. One hand lifting to tuck pink strands of hair behind her ear she continues to smile at the man that had just set down some distance from them.
”Greetings Alexander, my name is Carmen and this here is Nex…or at least I am pretty sure that’s what his name is.” With the mention of the creature’s name she aims a thumb over her shoulder at him, as if she needed to point him out. ”What brings you out this far, do you enjoy the beaches as much as we do?” Again Carmen looked to be in her lower twenties yet there was an unmistakable innocence to her voice, like that of a child, something Alexander and Nex might pick up on she spoke. The girl’s story was rather complicated but as an individual she was quite simple.

Nex didn't even bother replying, this girl Carmen was enough to answer for him for the time being. She stood before him, not something he was used to but it wasn't a bad thing. He'd let her take the lead and if it came to blows he was sure between the two of them that they could fend off this would be opponent. Crossing his arms and opening his maw to let out the yawn that had crawled up his throat, Nex continued to wait and watch.
They made a curious pair, one huge and grotesque while the other was short with radiant beauty but their power equal. Nex could only wonder what was going through the head of the male soft-skin, how would he respond to seeing them here? But so far he didn't attack and for that Nex was....greatful? Perhaps...

Watching each movement that they made he noticed the girl stepping in front of the creature and a hint of amusement played in his eyes, did that mean what he thought it did? He wasn't sure, but the possibilities were quite entertaining to him as he watched and listened to what the two had to say as well as watching their reactions. Their powers were both quite impressive, greater than his own base level, and that let a few ideas float through his mind as to how he could work this situation to his advantage. Still, when the girl asked her question he chuckled slightly, and turned out towards the ocean even going so far as to extend his hand out towards it. The point of view making it seem like his hand could grasp it all right now, but he was smarter than that.
"I do enjoy the beaches, but it was mostly my curiosity that brought me here today," the two of them were quite an interesting pair. Crossing his arms, he had to think of how he might try to work this in his favor. Perhaps there was a much simpler way to achieve this, it couldn't hurt to try, well it probably could but that was a part of the thrill to this little dance as well. So he would make his intentions known to these two and see what their reactions would be, he could probably offer them something that no one ever would simply because he did not hold the same ideals as others.
"Did you two come out here just for the beaches?" his question was meant to try and find out more information about each one. He needed to see what made these two tick before he would go through with his plan then, if he could bring them on board it would serve to strengthen his own position. Of course, he didn't expect that they would just join him instantly, or his expectations could be surpassed and they would do just that. People were unpredictable with their emotions, it was entertaining to watch at times.

Following his hand as he motions to the vast blue ocean she was the one that was getting curious. If curiosity had brought him this far out what exactly was it that he was interested to see? Carmen had honestly traveled out into the isles just to explore. That was all she had been doing for the last several weeks. Meeting Nex had just been a stroke of pure chance, the creature actually having come out to speak to her. If he had remained relaxing where he had been the Makaio would have simply walked on by, continuing on her way. However, now that the two had met she felt a sort of kinship with him as strange as that may sound. In a way she felt they were both lost, but perhaps it was just her imagination running away with itself again.
”I did actually. I spent some time in the city and them some time in the forest, and as fun as they were I wanted to see what the ocean had to offer. Honestly…I like it, there are not as many people around as the city or forest…they can be annoying, so quick to jump to conclusions….” The pink haired girls sentence sort of trails away as a seagull soars overhead, cawing as it does. The distraction interrupts her train of through as her head lifts to look at the animal. Was the bird curious as to why the three of them had gathered or was it simply hoping that one of them had food? Pondering the thought she continues to watch it as it soars away before blinking as she looks back to Alexander.
