A mechanical arm now sat where her left arm had once been. The artificial limb was a monstrosity in her eyes, even though it was the sleekest model that was available. In the past she had seen different soldiers or mercenaries with various limbs to replace the ones they had lost in combat. Many of them were bulky and brutish looking, some even containing weapons to make them more suitable for combat. Akassa felt she need none of that, the power she naturally possessed more devastating than any weapon or blade she might get installed. Still, there had been one upgrade that had caught her eyes. It was one of the more subtle alterations that could be purchased, but that made it none the less effective.
Looking over she watched in silence as the scientist finished his work. The man had been paid well to bring his equipment to the palace, Akassa having received him in her own private quarters. At the moment she sat on a stool with her artificial arm outstretched and resting on a small table. For several hours now the procedure had carried on, the scientist hard at work on upgrading the hand of her mechanical limb. The improvement that the Princess had decided on was to have a small white crystal embedded into the palm of her hand, the small tone much more than a gem. Although it appeared to be some sort of focus for light or to perhaps enhance her blasts it was far from that. The crystal itself was being hooked up to the conduits in her arm and when it was completed she would be able to drain the energy from others. Exactly like the technology sometimes found in androids the energy absorbing gem had the power to drain the very Ki of anyone it came into prolonged contact with as well as take in weaker energy blasts.
Hearing a click Akassa attempts to look over the man’s shoulder as he seems to be finished. “That should about do it Princess.” As the man stepped away Akassa was finally able to take a look at the gem. With the crystal being the same shade of white as the rest of her palm it was almost hard to make out, the subtle way it was set into her hand almost hiding it. Grinning some she had to admit that she was pleased with the finished product, giving the scientist a slight now. In response the man smile, seeming glad to have satisfied his client’s request. Without a word he began to pack up his tools and supplies, the whole procedure not having required that much in terms of materials. It had only taken so long due to its delicate nature and the quality that the Princess demanded.
”I do have one question though. How long does it take for the effects of the crystal to felt by another? For example, if I have someone in my grasp will it immediately begin to drain their energy?” For a moment the thought of trying the crystal out on the scientist crosses her mind, but she decides against it. Able to sense how weak he was she feared it might actually kill him if she held onto long and since she had never used the device before, she had no idea how fast it might drain someone. Glancing over towards the door to her simulator Akassa planned to test it out momentarily.
“Yes Princess, if you get a hold of someone and activate it the crystal as soon as you do the effects should be felt immediately. I will warn you that the stronger the foe, the longer you will need keep a hold of them. Someone such as your would not find herself instantly incapacitated where as your average warrior should.” Again the scientist smiles at her, hoping that his answer was sufficient and that she understood the limitations and uses of the crystal. The same logic went for absorbing blasts, the gem only able to handle so much energy at a given moment.
”Very well, I will have to test it out myself then. You may take your leave whenever you are ready, the funds will be transferred into your account later today.” Having no more need of his services Akassa raises from the stool to head towards her gravity chamber. It was time to test the merchandise.
With the scientist packing up the rest of his belongings and preparing to leave Akassa heads towards her gravity chamber. Between what she had read about the crystal and the information he had provide her with she felt she understood what the device was capable of. Still, she wanted to field test it so that she might fully understand how it functioned. Akassa learned best by experience, her countless hours spent on missions and training the reason she was such a powerful, skilled fighter. Looking at the small white gem set into the palm of her artificial arm the Princess knew that in a relatively short time she would be just as efficient with it as any of the other parts of her extensive arsenal.
”Resolute, please set the gravity to forty times that of normal. On top of that please generate multiple Ki launches so that I can test out this energy crystal to the fullest. Be sure to keep them on the weaker side though, this session shall differ from my normal ones.” In most cases Akassa pushed herself to the extreme in a training session, usually utilizing multiple opponents or at least one of equal power to further test herself. Today she didn’t want that, only to test the device she had just paid quite handsomely for. The increased gravity was simply to further condition her body so that she could continue to progress through the various levels. As far as she knew no one else on New Vegeta could handle the level of intensity she had risen to.
“Of course Princess, I hope that the upgrade is everything you expect it to be.” Was the response of the always polite AI that ran her simulator and gravity chamber. Strangely enough, with few friends, the Princess found herself getting quite comfortable with “woman.” With few that could adequately challenge her on the Universe she spent most of her training time in the simulator, the machine ever able to match her power…at least so far.
As the gravity increase, the added force pulling down on her weighted body Akassa was curious, could the simulator continue to match her in power no matter how strong she got? That is what she had been told when purchasing it, yet the man she had purchased it from was nowhere near the strength she had been at the time, never mind what she had ascended to now. If the simulator was truly capable of that how was there not a form of technology that could create real righters with unrestricted power? If something like that were to be developed and made controllable there would be no need for a soldier such as herself. Snorting some as she flexes the muscles in her leg Akassa decides to let the topic drop. In order to prevent that sort of future she would just have to grow stronger, surpassing all other beings, mechanical and organic alike.
After allowing the Princess several minutes to adjust to the increased gravity Resolute set to work on fulfilling her second command. Around the room half a dozen small silver orbs flickered into existence, each one no larger than a soccer ball. Each one of the sphere’s sported a small lens on one side which allowed them to emit blast of energy at their targets. Each of them was set to handle enough Ki so that their blasts would rival that of someone around 50,000 in power level, easily something Akassa could handle if need be. As she stood and watched the group began to separate and spread out around her form, taking up various elevations as they did. Rolling her neck the Princess gives a slight nod to signify that she was ready.
Ever perceptive and always watching Resolute saw the acknowledgement that Akassa was ready and the training session commenced. All at once the six orbs began to move, randomly shooting out thin yellow beams of Ki at their communal target. At first Akassa tested herself further in the new gravity, focusing on the agility she could achieve even under the intense pressure. With relative ease the half-saiyan leapt, twisting her lithe frame in the air as blasts zipped past her. Smiling some as she twists and turns, dancing between the beams, Akassa was ever impressed with her own prowess. Years of training had made her powerful, but also quick. Without a second thought she moved, her body instinctually knowing which movement was the most efficient dodge for each blast. More often than not one dodge set her up for the next evasive maneuver, turning the whole string of movements into a dance.
Even with her grace Akassa preferred to be up close and personal when fighting, her almost brutish fighting style quite aggressive even for creature of Saiyan blood. One poor sphere would find this out as it hovered in to close, the Princess’ right hand swinging down hard on top of it as the orb explodes in a shower of sparks. By that point she had begun to break a sweat, her body still dealing with the increased gravity as she moved around the chamber. With her muscles warmed and prepped now she figured it was time to get to the real reason she had stepped in here, test the capabilities of the crystal installed in her palm.
”Enough Resolute, gather all the orbs into one area.” Of course without a complaint or retort the machine replied, the remaining 5 spheres instantly stopping their shooting before lazily drifting together a decent distance from the Princess. All of them turned to face her, standing at the ready as Akassa settled back onto both feet, no longer needed to dodge blasts. Rolling her shoulders some she settles back into a slight stance, right leg back behind her. Reaching up with her artificial arm she brushes red bangs from her face before extending the arm in front of her, palm facing the orbs.
”I am ready, begin with just one blast.”
With her command one of the orbs shot out a beam, aiming it squarely at the center of the gem in her hand. The beam struck and at first it stung, like any Ki blast would, but as Akassa focused on the crystal embedded within her palm she could “feel” it working. As the lone beam continued to hit her in the palm the Princess felt the energy from it being absorbed into the crystal, the Ki charging her arm some, but going no further. Her limb was artificial and the Ki her body naturally produced was able to fuel it, but the arm itself was not able to send the Ki it absorbed back into her shoulder. It didn’t matter really, the draining effect worked and that is what she had wanted. Now, any time she grabbed a hold of someone she had the ability to drain them, weakening them to assure her victory.
”Use the rest of them.” The command was a short one and Resolute understood, the four remaining spheres firing thing golden beams as well. All five of them now struck her palm, meeting at the center of it as they converged over the crystal. The strain was immediate as the rest of them hit, Akassa able to feel that the gem was struggling to process so much energy at once…but it was handling it. Although the arm was artificial she still had control of it as it was an extension of her own body so its strain was her strain. Gritting her teeth the Princess focuses taking in as much energy as she can before her arm actually began to grow warm as if it was overheating.
”Stop.” Like with all the other commands, the AI responded instantly as the five orbs went silent. Shaking out her arm a little Akassa smirks, quite pleased with the little gem so far. Taking a moment to look it over she was again impressed with how hard it was to spot within the whiteness of her palm, the scientist having done well to hide it. On top of its fine craftsmanship it worked, at least when it came to absorbing weaker attacks. She wondered how well it would work on draining an actual being, but figures the simulator really couldn’t help her with that. The “individuals” it created were not organic like another Saiyan or Human would be so the experience was not worth her time. Without a word to her electronic counterpart Akassa turns and heads for the door, figuring she would have to finish her field test…in the field.
Exiting her training chamber Akassa still felt her white arm was a monstrosity, but at least it was proving to have its uses when it came to combat. Of course that didn’t mean she preferred it over the real thing.
(Gravity and heavy weights, PL please)
(Technique Requested – Energy Crystal – Similar to the technology used in androids Akassa’s artificial hand now has a small white gem at its center. Like with androids it has the ability to drain a target’s energy as long as it is contact with their flesh. However, unlike with an android she does not gain the energy drained because the limb cannot efficiently transfer the energy into her organic body. The crystal is hard to spot from a distance, the white gem blending well with her white palm.)
