...
He wasn't yet finished. The head of the tower was not his destination. The little bird, tug as it might, would never be able to lift Kit up and towards the lookout, he needed to do this on his own. Gently brushing the small bird off of his shoulder and shakily standing up, finally able to after the grueling task of climbing up the tower, Kit decided to pay a visit to the roof. Heading over to the ledge, his stomach nearly revolting at the idea of having to climb once again, Kit jumped up, grabbing hold of the ceiling a pulling himself up and over it. This was in fact the top of the tower. It was rounded at the top meaning that no one could possibly have been up here. This was an unsatisfactory answer to Kit, who rose a knee to enter the rooftop and then rose to his feet. The terrain was uneven, and the winds gave Saito a nervous fear of falling. That was hardly enough to stop him from investigating further. From mere sight it appeared that this was all there was to offer, and yet he could feel more. His perception was no longer limited to the basic human senses. A sixth sense of Ki alteration was present. Much like the bird had suggested it appeared that there was something taking place at the top of the tower, or rather several feet above the tower. Though still out of Kits sight. How was he to get to the top now?
Fly?
The small bird from before was fluttering next to him, pleased to see Kit at least trying to make it up there it had followed to further encourage him. Kit watched the birds wings as they fluttered so effortlessly. He wished that he had the ability to float so easily. None of his limbs could move so quickly and so rythmically. Yet the more he considered it, the more Ki seemed to gather in his feet. Kit had learned now twice that his legs were capable of incredible things. First that he could run at alarming speeds, then that he could run up a ninety degree tower. What if it were possible to run on air? His heart skipped a beat as the realization of what he had to do came into his mind. He would have to run from the top of the tower in an attempt to fly. Was he going crazy? He wasn't even sure what was up there, or how high up it was. More importantly human beings couldn't FLY. He wasn't a space ship, he wasn't an air plane. He was a person, and one that had never, ever, been off of the solid ground for more than the time it took to jump.
thmp thmp thmp
He could here his heart racing within his chest, as the anxiety began to build inside him. He was really going to do it. Gearing up his legs for the run, he kicked off, running to the opposite end of the tower, his body picking up into the speed run it had done before. However once he was over the edge of the cieling he found that flying was not at all what happened. His body leapt from the tower and immediately began to fall. Kicking his legs wildly he quickly felt the weight of his decision falling down on him, passing the base of the tower and falling at an alarming rate back towards the ground. It couldn't end like this, he had to do something. His focus state took hold of him, forcing his hair to frizz outward and his muscles to increase in size. His feet began to move so fast it felt as though he were slicing the air. Now, moving in place, Kit propelled himself upward. In his basic form he was incapable of this feat, and yet in his focus state his body was able to break the barrier between running on land, and running on air. Even his eye sight became deeper. It was as if he could physically see the heavier patches of air, and knew exactly where to step. His legs leapt from one spot to the other, still moving rapidly. He passed the platform once again and went into the sky quickly. His first problem however was that he couldn't maintain it. Much like his speed running he found himself struggling to maintain the physical stress.
It was only by luck that the lookout finally came into view. Rocketing upwards until he was well past the floating platform in the sky, kit finally dropped. His body landing heavily on the tiles lookout floor with an audible thud. His weights combined with his normal weight made it seem as though an elephant had landed on the lookout. But it was just him. His body was still in the stressed focus state, for Kit knew if he released his energy he would fall to the ground unable to stand. He needed the Ki in order to keep him standing. He refused to show weakness to the person who would soon be training him. Lookout around the floating temple he saw the well maintained gardens, the bluest sky, and of course the temple itself surrounded by several small towers. It was a warriors paradise. All he needed were other people to train with. He imagined bringing his brothers and sisters to such a place. Of course they would have to do the impossible and fly to get here, but Kit had already done that so why couldn't they. Standing his ground and making sure his posture was professional, Kit yelled out, his voice echoing around the lookout.
"I'm looking for a teacher! Does one preside here?"

Popo was about to follow Kaladar over to Carla, but he was stopped in his tracks by a loud thud, followed by a voice asking for a teacher. He saw Kaladar motion for him to go check it out. It wasn’t Brandon, because Popo would be able to recognize his signature. This person, who ever it was, was new. As Popo made his way over to the location of the voice, he hoped that it wasn’t someone sent by Kemuri. Popo knew it wouldn’t go over well for this person if he did work for Kemuri.
As Popo got closer to the location of the voice. He saw a shirtless man in black pants and wristbands standing close to the edge of the Lookout. The man didn’t look like a threat, especially if he was looking for a teacher. Popo knew who he was looking for, but Kaladar was busy at the moment. Popo had no idea how long it was going to take for him to teach Carla. He knew that Kami would want to see how he could fight first before actually training could begin. Popo has done the same thing for all of the people that have come up here looking for Kami’s teaching.
If this man thought he was just going to be able to train with Kami right away he was going to be mistaken. Approaching the man, Popo would fold his arms “Hello there, so you must be the person that is looking for a teacher. Then I am assuming you have heard of the Guardian of Earth and that is why you are here. Unfortunately, Kami is busy at the current moment, but I am Mr. Popo a close personal friend of the Guardian. Oh before I forget do you mind telling me your name?” Popo said to the mysterious man
Looking the man over, there was no doubt that he was a fighter. Popo wanted to ask him if he would help Kami in the fight against Kemuri. Knowing better than to ask a complete stranger that, Popo decided to keep that information to himself…at least for now. It looked like the man was already in his fighting gear, so if he was here to train with anyone, then he was going to have to train with Popo before going to see Kami.
“Since you are looking for a teacher, then your search is over. Though I am not the teacher you are ultimately looking for. Before you can train with Kami, I need to assess your fighting prowess and skill. I hope you don’t mind.” Popo said taking a few steps away from the man. “So since it looks like you are already in gear ready to train, I think we can get started. You may begin when ever you are ready.” Popo said dropping into a defensive looking stance.

Saito held back his surprise as the short black creature walked casually over to him. With such a friendly tone and mystic vibe it was remarkable Kit could contain himself. He had already met Anri which was a far stranger site, but Popo was nonetheless something that Kit had not been expected. He had figured a human being to be at the top of this very long venture, and yet here at the top was a mystical creature, perhaps even another alien. He looked over the pudgy man as he spoke, and couldn't help but immediately notice some of the even more unorthodox things he was saying. He had come for a teacher, and yet the man he was describing was no teacher but instead a God. That is after all what he understood the term Kami to mean. On top of that he addressed the person as the guardian of Earth. What sort of title is that to give a man? It sounded like his father, arrogant and begging for attention. Kit was far to kind to voice his concerns, though he would need to meet this man before he could consider him a guardian much less a God.
"My apologies. My name is Saito Kito, I hail from the mountain compound of Eastern Paozu. I have recently rebuilt the Crane school and found information that led me here. You say the teacher is unavailable? It really is urgent."
Yet the man had mentioned testing his fighting ability. Kit was aware of the customs that most dojo's held. You were not likely to be granted an audience with the head sensei prior to proving your worth to his students. If this is what Kit had to do then he would make quick work of the pudgy black man and move on to his true goal. He hadn't any time to waste, not with the world in a state of affairs as it was. Kit hadn't even heard of the devastation caused by Kemuri, which would likely only cause him to have a greater sense of urgency. He was a guest on the lookout and would follow whatever customs they saw nevessary. If that meant that he needed to show that he was no ordinary passerby then he would do his best. Taking a few steps away from the edge, Kit felt his legs shake slightly as he moved. Gritting his teeth and trying to focus he knew that he was already not at his best. Not only were the heavy weights still pressuring his body, he was also in the unfortunate worn position of having just climbed the tower below, and then done the remarkable and flown the rest of the way. His body was not in peak condition so he would need to make quick work of his opponent. A drawn out combat would not be to his advantage. So long as Kit could stand he could fight.
"No, you asked for a spar and I will happily oblige you sir."
One leg pushed forward, sliding against the marble tile and turning slightly to the left. The other bent at the knee allowing his body to lean back. This was one of his fathers offensive stances. Saito would keep his left arm tucked neatly against his chest, while the other one stuck out, following the length of his leg. Should his opponent attack first Kit would be ready to counter, either ducking down further or using his left hand to grapple while striking with his right. The was a moot point however as Popo was clearly interestest in seeing what Kit had to offer. It was unlikely that he would attack first. Thus Saito sprang forward, with only feet separating the two fighters he decided not to waste any time. He wasn't sure what the short black man had to offer, but if he wanted to fight Kit there was no reason to hold back. At the very least the man must have climbed the tower as well, meaning he was no push over. After leaping upwards Kits right leg landed firmly on the ground, His entire body twirling to the right with his left leg held high. He would swing it around and aim for the black man's head, his heel being the first point of contact.
Regardless of the hits success Saito would double back, bringing both legs together and then separating them like he had done at the beginning of the fight. Surely one kick wouldn't be enough to take out this teachers student would it? As his feet moved back into position Kit felt the tenderness in his calf muscle increase. He couldn't hit Popo as hard as he would have liked. The weights and the strain he already had put on his legs prevented him from striking at full power. He surely wasn't going to enter his focus state without just cause which meant his kick couldn't have broken even a fourth of his base power. Then again even if he could have mustered it, he wouldn't have. Punches and kicks did not require Ki energy, and Kit was content in keeping the fight physical. After all he didn't want to kill the poor man.

Popo listened to Saito Kito explain where he was from. He was surprised to hear that this man had rebuilt the Crane school. As long as Popo could remember, that building has been abandoned for a very long time. The only person on this planet that has kept the knowledge of that school is Kami. So this must be the reason for Saito has made his way to the Lookout. Saito apparently needed to see Kami as soon as possible, but Popo wasn’t going to let him interact with Kami until he thought he could handle his training. The only student for a while at least that has proven themselves was Carla and she was in the process of Kami’s final teachings.
“Well it is good to meet you Saito Kito, I am sure once Kami is done with his teachings, he will make his way over to our location. Like I stated before, I must see what you are capable of before you continue on your journey.” Popo said to Saito waiting for his response
“Well Popo is it someone that is going to be a problem? Cause that is something that I really don’t want to deal with at the current moment.”
“No, it is another person requesting your teachings, but I have informed this man that you are busy. Also that I need to assess his capabilities before having him officially talk to you. I believe he going to start the spar I requested, I will talk to you once this it done.”[/b]
Popo watched as Kit began to get into what looked like an offensive stance, but it seemed that he was waiting for Popo to attack first. Smiling, Popo waited for Kit to realize what was actually going on, which would take less than a second as Kit sprang off the ground at Popo. Saito’s right leg hit against the ground in front of Popo as his body began to twirl. As Saito’s left leg whipped through the air towards Popo’s head. His right arm would come up and the leg would slam with great force into it. Pushing his arm back to where it was resting against Popo’s head.
Watching as Saito pushed back after the kick, making sure to plant both feet on the ground. The moment Saito landed on the ground, Popo ran at him. Jumping just before Saito, swinging his left leg for an enziguri. Popo figured the kick would be blocked, just as Popo had done earlier. If Saito did react fast enough to block the attack. Popo would push off, twirling in the air and landing a foot away from Saito. Charging ki between his hands, he would extend his arms out and launch a yellow ki beam directed at Kit’s chest. The force from the ki beam would send kit either tumbling across the surface of the lookout. If kit blocked the beam it would still push him back until he was able to recover that is.
So far it seemed like Saito was a capable fighter, but it was going to take a little more than one kick for Popo to truly make his decision. Popo still didn’t know how Kit managed to get up to the top of the Lookout. Some people have just flown up, will others have climbed, he wondered what method Saito used.

Although the genie blocked the oncoming attack, Kit still considered it successful. His arms had risen to block which meant he at the very least had been hit. His father had always taught that unless a man dodges an oncoming blow he is doomed to suffer the consequences, even if that means a sore blocking arm later. Now in the perfect position to counter; He waited only a moment for his enemy to pounce. Popo made his move quickly, and Saito took a chapter from his own book and with the remaining power in his legs sprung backwards, narrowly avoiding the flying kick. Popo seemed to double over as this occurred which confused Saito. Keeping his guard ever ready he looked at the man who seemed hunched over to the side. Saito had never experienced what was about to occur and his mind couldn't even comprehend it. The yellow low grade Kiai beam flew from between the black man’s palms, right through the open arms of Saito, and slammed into his chest. Thankfully his position had been facing the edge, meaning that he would in fact fly further into the lookout rather back over the devastating fall.
At first his legs held their position, sliding him only a few inches, but by the time the beam had fully made contact and finished its assault the remaining inertia forced his legs into a position they were not prepared for. They had already been weakened by the climb up, this was too much. The pressure forced him into the air several inches and then crashing back down on his back, sliding another few feet. Rolling onto his stomach in an attempt to cool is steaming chest, Kit pondered what the hell had just happened. He knew that Ki attacks could exist, he had just never seen one besides his spirit gun. This put Kit at a severe disadvantage because now he knew that Popo knew attacks that he did not. Though the benefit to this was that if Popo was only capable of basic energy attacks like the beam, he would be more than a little caught off guard by how Saito would respond. His body was obviously too worn out to face off with the quick witted genie in physical combat, so he would show the man what he had learned in his time after facing the dangerous alien Nyu.
Certainly Saito's fights had been much longer in the past, but he knew using this technique so soon would mark the end of their combat. Either popo would yield from taking it, or Saito would be mostly defenseless. He could fire his Spirit gun at least eight times, but even doing that made little sense. The genie had proven too fast for him so even firing eight consecutive shots would be a waste of his energy and likely not yield the results he was looking for. Saito would need to get creative. Popo had no idea what Kit could accomplish and so he had to show the black man that he wasn't playing around. He needed to learn more, so the best way to do that was to expand on what he already had. His leg muscles tightened, he would be unable to accomplish this combination of techniques without extreme focus. Rising slowly to his feet he spoke, his transformation taking place.
"I apologize sir. My body is still trembling from the climb up. It took me all night. I would love to engage you further but I fear my body may just crumble beneath me. Allow me, if I may, to cut right to the chase."
Saito's shaggy blonde hair had begun to frizz, sticking out as though it was surrounded by a static shock. His own muscles had grown nearly double in size, and yet even with this focus state he felt his energy less than it had been before. His plan was simple, he would fire a spirit gun at his opponent. But not before closing the now sizable gap between the two of them. The already large man was now slightly bigger. He rose his right index finger pointing it squarely at the black man, a small blue ball of energy no bigger than a marble forming at the tip. Though it was small, its energy was significant. It was no basic Ki blast. This was his signature spirit gun. The ball began to glow and Kit let out a light grin. He always enjoyed firing his spirit gun. It brought him incredible joy, mostly from the release of his pent up spirit energy. Clasping his wrist tightly so that he could get the maximum effectiveness out of his attack, he yelled.
"Spirit Gun!"
At this point the attack would have fired. But had Popo blinked he would have missed it. Kit used the last of his remaining leg strength to use his Ki dash simultaneously, something he had not yet tried. He fired short of Popo, appearing roughly five feet to his right. Still air born from the rapid movement he released his energy, and with it came a blast of Ki that would have superseded the yellow one. While it was still limited to Kit's Ki, it was the strongest one he had ever fired. His training was clearly paying off. Popo however was fast, so it was entirely possible that even given the close proximity to him the genie would move.
After firing the shot, his body hit the tiled floor knee's first. His legs would be unable to perform the dash again, and for the time being he was limited to the ground. His calves felt as though they were on fire as a tightness squeezed around them. He was beginning to cramp. His chest was also still burning from the genies attack. He felt foolish already being out of energy, but he was. He could possibly fire another spirit gun, but if the last one didn't finish the job there was really no point to a second one. Breathing heavily and putting his forehead to the tile he couldn't help but chuckle. He had really defeated himself here. He had climbed for over twelve hours and then for some reason demanded to meet the strongest known teacher in all the land. He had brought this on himself and the humor wasn't lost on him. Bringing his head back up and twisting his neck around he was interested to see how his attack had faired against the man. He had never fired a blast that powerful before. Really, he had impressed himself with it.

Popo watched as the yellow ki beam went right through Saito’s arms and smashed into his chest. Popo could tell that the man was tired, but he didn’t think he was that tired. Watching as Saito slid across the marble floor for a few seconds before being taken off his feet, slamming into the ground. Popo didn’t think he put that much ki behind the blast, but apparently he was wrong. Saito was now lying on his stomach and Popo didn’t know if he was going to get back up. Popo didn’t move from his position, he hoped that Saito was going to get back up and he did.
“I guess Saito is too tired to continue fighting, even though he has gotten back up he seems exhausted. I wonder if he climbed up the tower to get here. It seems that more and more people do not know how to fly. If he did in fact climb the tower, then he is more than capable to train with Kami. He would be the first person that I can remember to accomplish that feat.” Popo said to himself
That is when Popo would get the answer to his question and that Saito had in fact climbed up the tower all night. Saito went on to explain that his body might not be able to take any more training or at least not for right now. Once Saito was done speaking, Popo felt his power began to increase, which confused the genie. It seemed that Saito was about to give up and stop this fight, but Popo was wrong. Before Popo could react he watched as a small blue ball appeared at the end of Saito’s index finger.
Popo couldn’t react fast enough before the slam blue ball was shot at him, slamming directly into the genie’s chest causing him so stumble backwards. A great deal of pain shot through Popo’s body as he placed his hand over the wound. When he looked back up Saito was gone, well that’s what Popo thought. In fact Saito was approximately five feet to his right. Rolling out of the way Popo was able to dodge Saito’s second attack. Luckily for the genie he was able to sense ki, so he knew where Saito was before the energy was released.
Getting back to his feet Popo looked over to Saito, getting ready to block his next attack, if one was to come. This time it really did look like Saito was done, perhaps even he was out of energy. Walking over to Saito, Popo would place a hand in his shoulder.
“You have done well Saito, I think Kami would be interested in seeing you, once the matter on hand is dealt with. I say we rest for a while, then start this spar over again. You have already impressed me, just by climbing up the tower. I still need to see your true fighting prowess.” Popo explained to Saito as he sat on the ground next to Saito.

(Only one attack. The shot fired after Kit Dashed so it was up close )
Saito was disappointed. Though his attack had gone off just as planned he was still far too weak to impress the genie enough. Surely his words were kind, but his actions spoke otherwise. If he had truly been impressed he would have taken him to the teacher and been done with it. Yet his words seemed as though the Kami was dealing with a situation. What could possibly be so demanding for the man that he couldn't spare a moment to speak with Saito. The man could feel the energy of two other people on the lookout, though it was feint and vague. Perhaps he was having trouble with the other person on the lookout. Or perhaps even more importantly he was training that other person. Saito hated being put off, especially when he had such an urgent task at hand. But he could hardly expect to cut in line so easily. If the Kami had a line to see him then Kit would be as respectful and patient as he could be. He was no savage.
Even more disappointing was that his energy had been so drained. He had flown the last portion of the tower, the part that he could not possibly climb. He wished he could replicate the ability for the genie, maybe then he would be impressed. Though if creatures like Anri could fly it was possible that all great masters could. Was Anri a great master? Kit couldn't get the bug eyed alien out of his thoughts. As if he had met the creature for a reason and that had yet to unfold. He shook it off, his hands clenching tightly as he slid off of his knee's and onto his rear on the tile. He released his fists only so that he could rub the tension out of his legs. He had used his technique twice in one day, but running on air had been far more difficult than he had predicted. Nearly impossible really. Had the tower been even ten feet higher in the air Kit may have fallen to his death. He needed more training. He rubbed his calves, slowly working out the cramping that was starting to take place. Slowly his dash was becoming his greatest advantage, and it was a double edged attack.
"I truly hate stopping after such a short encounter. That tower of yours took me out. Sir I respect your needs, but I too have a very important job ahead"
Having no idea what Kami was dealing with, Kit couldn't imagine it being much worse than what he was dealing with. The mighty lord Tundra was about to come to Earth. Perhaps Kami didn't recognize what kind of danger the Earth was in. Maybe he failed to recognize the importance of a properly trained soldier on the battle field. He knew that he needed to move forward in his training and that there was only so much he could do on his own. The blond had grown over fifteen times his original strength in the last several months, and he would only continue to grow up this ladder. He knew being honest with Popo was his best option. The man needed to know what he was doing and why.
"I have been rebuilding the Crane school brick by brick for the last several weeks. My brother and I live there happily. I wouldn't have traveled so far if it hadn't been for my recent experiences. The birds told me that I could find a man who could help me with these troubles and I pray they were not misled"
He took a deep breath. Kit wasn't exactly open about his hardships. He believed in handling situations on his own, but this had gotten out of hand. It was a matter of life and death.
"A few weeks ago an Alien by the name of Nyu came to my dojo. He was looking for the strongest fighter in the area to pass on a message. His message was that the planet was now under his direct control and that his emperor would be arriving within a few months time to claim his new territory. When I engaged him, a good man lost his life. I don't fully understand Ki myself, but he used numbers. While the creature said his own power was near thirty thousand, he said his master was ten times that."
If Popo could even understand what he was talking about, maybe he had a chance to get the genie to empathize with his position. He wasted no time continuing his tale.
"He swore vengeance, and now I am certain he will return and do great damage to this planet. I had thought that this man was the least of my troubles, but it appears that monsterous alien power levels are everywhere. Another Alien engaged me in combat at my school, he called himself a Vennar...I think. I hadn't any idea life existed outside of this planet."
He was trailing off. The important part of what he had to say came next. He took a deep breath and spoke with a stern honesty, meeting the black man's gaze with fierce determination.
"I refuse to be intimidated by these powers. There is no reason for it. I will push myself until no threats can possibly stand between me and success. I will not allow myself to be pushed aside by some creature that is unwelcome here. This is my home, and I will be damned if some pretensious shit is going to take it from me!"
Kit turned his head away, his words had gotten heated. He never swore and yet he found himself cursing at a total stranger. Running a hand through his sweat drenched hair and taking another deep breath Saito knew he had to start asking question. Perhaps he could finally get the answers he had been pondering over since his encounter with Nyu. The black man was likely an alien creature himself considering his skin and eyes. If that was the case he may have even been offended by his words. Unintentional to be sure, but still warranting an apology.
"Sincerest apologies, I do not mean to swear or discriminate, but it has been a trying few months. My body has been in bondage in preparation for the attack. I haven't taken them off since the encounter and I don't intend to until I have Tundra on the run. Or perhaps when I face the Vennar again. Sir I desperately request any training you, or your sensei, can provide. I believe I have reached my maximum limitations in training myself. I wish to reopen the school and train others to be honorable and defend their homes as well. If this man knows the hidden techniques that the animals speak of they would be invaluable weapons against these evils"
That was it, his entire story post Nyu's invasion. Putting both hands behind him, leaning back into the tiles he would listen to Popo's response. He may have come on too strong and scared the man off. Perhaps he was speaking to an enemy all along. No, Popo was giving off a positive aura, probably the purest Kit had ever felt. This man was empathetic to his cause, and whatever he said next would shape Kit's future on the mysterious lookout.

Saito seemed frustrated that they were stopping so soon, but he was out of energy. At least that is what Popo figured. Popo could understand his frustration on what happened. Since he had climbed up the tower, it was completely understandable to be tired and sore. There were few people on this planet that could accomplish that feat, without falling off. He could also understand Saito’s impatience in wanting to talk to Kami. HE was going to have to wait until Kami was done with Carla, before being able to speak with him. As of late there have been a lot or warriors coming up here to train with him, but these are pressing times. Kami needs to make sure his number one student is ready for the fight of her life.
As Popo listened to Saito he began to understand the reason for him coming here. Apparently an alien came to earth, claiming the planet under the rule of someone called Nyu. Which turned out to be that very alien. Popo was surprised to hear that someone had claimed earth for themselves. Saito engaged the alien and defeated him, but his master was still on his way here. This was troubling news, first Kemuri takes over earth and then apparently there is this alien coming to the planet that is trying to do the same thing. It seemed that Saito was running into dangerous alien’s on Earth as of recently. As Popo listened, he began to believe that Saito Kito would be a fine student for Kami.
Popo could see the same determination in him that he sees in Kaladar. There was absolutely no doubt in his mind that Kami would train this man and help him achieve his ultimate goals. Unfortunately for Saito, he was going to stil have to wait for Kami to finish teaching Carla. Watching as Saito turned his head away from Popo, he realized his passion for this planet, for his home. When Saito called Kami his sensei, Popo smiled.
“Kami is not my sensei Saito. I am just a friend of the Guardian not a student. I do help him train the potential Guardians if he asks me. Otherwise I stay out of his way, only giving my advice when it is needed. As for you wanting to learn the hidden techniques you have come to the right place. Kami is the person that the birds spoke of.” Popo looked back at the building.
“There is no doubt in my mind that Kami can help you achieve your goal and defeat this Tundra. Unfortunately, Kami is busy teaching one of those hidden techniques to a student of his right at this moment and no one is allowed to go where they are. Once he is done with that I know he is going to make his way over here. SO I suggest we rest for a little while and when you are ready to train again we can continue.” Popo said looking back at Saito

Who was he kidding, there was no point in arguing with the black genie. He was in fact too weak to train with even popo at this point. Though the spirit was willing, the body had undergone the harshest training it had yet come across and Saito was pushing it even further. He felt the feeling return to his legs which meant at the very least he could stand back up. With the support of his right arm he rose back to his feet, focusing heavily on his leg muscles so that he would not accidently fall back down, thus defeating any hopes he had of looking like he had everything under control. It occurred to him that Kami was no ordinary sensei. He was not simply a teacher. When Popo spoke he suggested that Kami trained guardians for the Earth. Kit was not looking to become a guardian, he had no aspirations or goals of the like. While he did have plans to run the Crane school he was uninterested in protecting the entire planet. Although that was what he had come to the lookout for. Even with all the danger he had come to recognize in his weeks prior to the lookout he still had the passion and drive to face off against the dangerous Tundra. He would undoubtedly seek this man's training, but if the Kami was already training another student there was no point in harrassing the poor assistant any further. Besides that Popo had proven stronger than Kit, so there was no reason to look any further than him for a training partner.
"Mr. Popo...I hate to be an intruding guest but...might you...have something to eat?"
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Mr. Popo was a polite host. He had taken Saito inside to view the first hallway of the lookout. This is as far as they would be taken however as his need for food increased. He had fed the man a freshly grown salad that contained a plethora of fruits and vegetables maintained on the lookout. Saito had been impressed with the display though not for long as he dug into it. After eating, and resting in a meditative state for a few hours Saito felt back to his own natural self. The lookout had that effect on a person, that they would regenerate their energy more readily with rest and meditation. Saito was no stranger to this meditation as it often brought him peace of mind. The answers to many of lifes questions could be found just by closing ones mouth and opening ones mind. The answer to this question had been made clear. Already from his climb up the tower Kit felt empowered like he had never felt before. The climb had raised his spirits and even more so shown him that he was in fact capable of handling any challenge he put before himself. He was not yet as strong as a creature such as Anri, but he was most certainly comparable to what Nyu had been. No he was even stronger than that lowly creature. Saito was in a whole different league than that thing. He was ready and able to fight Tundra whenever he did arrive. Unfortunately Saito still needed the reassurance that the Kami could provide. Even without Tundra's coming he intended to learn the Hidden Crane techniques that time had forgotten, and if the Kami was able to teach these techniques then he would wait day and night for the man to be ready.
Through his meditation he considered a few things. Perhaps he would challenge the star student for a chance to replace him. Saito decided against that, especially since he was not here to be a planetary guardian. It would be selfish of him to interrupt the training of someone looking out for the well being of Earth. Though he considered himself as someone who was doing that. Really it all made him even more disturbed. Stirring from his meditation he could feel his strength returned to him. It was time to challenge popo for a second time. He rose, leaving the small entry room and walking back onto the bright lookout. Although it had started as meditation Kit believed he had fallen asleep briefly, as he felt similarly to how the sensation of a nap would feel. He was ready to square off once more.
"I do appreciate your waiting Mr. Popo. I will not disappoint you as I did last time. I am much more talented than I allowed myself to be."
Again he entered a stance his father had taught him, a defensive stance, inviting Popo to make the first move. He had shown that he was capable of being offensive, though not at all revealed his own counter-attacks. Saito specialized in that. He always hated attacking first, as defense was easier and came like second nature to him. With both arms raised into the air, and feet separated to give him the greatest balance, he would await the genies attack, his mind set on proving his abilities to him. If he could not defeat Popo, what was the point in looking forward at potentially facing the Kami of Earth?

Popo shook his head in approval when Saito asked for food and something to drink. Mr. Popo brought him inside to view some on the Lookout before offering him a salad with plenty of fruits and vegetables. Once the two of them were done eating they decided to regenerate their energy to continue Saito’s training. As they were meditating Popo thought it would be a good time to contact Kami. HE needed to explain Saito’s situation and hope that Kami would see him.
“Kami are you busy at the current moment?[/i] Popo asked
“What is up Popo? Did something happened with the new possibly fighter? Have you asked him if he is going to help us yet? We need all the fighters we can get, since Brandon has decided to leave. I hope he isn’t going to do something dangerous and get killed.”
“Everything is going fine Kami. As far as asking him I was about to do that before we started training again. I contacted you to tell you that Saito has an emergency and he needs to talk to you. There was an alien that came to Earth, he called himself Nyu and he claimed Earth for himself, but Saito was able to defeat him. Unfortunately his leader is coming to Earth as well. Saito is in the process of reopening the Crane School and wants to learn the hidden techniques.”[/i]
“Well then, it looks like we have another problem on our hands Mr. Popo. Once you two are done training. Come and find me if I am not done teaching Carla. I would like to see what my potential new student looks like.”
Popo agreed to Kami’s suggestion and followed Saito back outside. He watched Saito get back into the same stance he had done when they first meet. It seemed that he wanted Popo to make the first strike, which Popo was more than happy to oblige, but before they would fight he needed to ask a question.
“Saito, since it looks like you are going to be sticking around here for a while, getting training from Kami I would like to ask you something.” Popo took a brief pause. “There is a situation on Earth happening right now. A man by the name of Kemuri has put collars on the king of Earth and Kami reducing their power levels to almost nothing. I would like to ask you to help us take this man out and return The King and Kami to their normal selves.” Again Popo would take a brief pause
“I hope that you are willing to help us defeat Kemuri for the sake of Earth.”
Popo would take a minute to let Saito respond to his question before starting the spar. Once Saito responded Popo would dash across the ground quickly closing the gap between Saito and himself. Once he was close a combination of punches would be thrown at Saito. The combination would come to an end with a spin kick aimed at Saito’s head,

Popo had accepted his challenge and moved in for the attack, but not before speaking of a rather important dilemma that they were facing. It appeared that Saito was not the only one stuck between scylla and charybdis. The idea of shackels being placed on Kit's powerlevel was certainly unnerving. He wasn't nearly strong enough to do much good in a full on combat against someone significantly stronger than himself. Anri had proven that only a few short weeks prior. He had also heard grand stories revolving around the Earth's leader. Saito had suggested in his youth that his father expand outside of the compound, and his response was always that there was a much higher power that wouldn't allow him to do so. Kit knew this to be the man who now appeared to be in shackles. This really wasn't any of Saito's business though. As much as he wanted to help he could hardly see himself accepting the plea of someone he had only just met with such little information. He would need to hear more.
"That does sound important Mr. Popo. Tell me about these collars, how have they been chained from their own power?"
He wasn't ready to answer just yet. With Tundra on his way, and Ethan still living peacefully on the lookout it would be foolish to jump into a foreign problem without a little probing. This however was enough to initiate the combat. The two would talk and spar at the same time, something Saito actually had come to enjoy. Silence during a battle didn't suit him at all. And with such interesting subject matter it only made the fighting that much more intense. Popo was quick, his body dashing across the gap between them in no time and appearing directly in front of him. The genie began throwing punches, and Kit began catching them in his palm. The two were gracefully in combat, and to an onlooker with little experience it would be hard to keep up with their attacks. Kit took the rapid fire of punches rather well, noting that the genies hands were significantly larger than his own. Each meaty fist took up both his palm and finger spread, which was not common in most fighters he had been in. The creatures anatomy while very humanoid was clearly different from his own. The sage would then spin for a kick at Kit's upper body. Putting up both forearms the man blocked the hit, his legs sliding back two feet from the impact. He felt his arms rattle at the strike. This was how a good hand to hand combat would start. The two would throw several physical strikes at one another until someone slipped up. Determined to prove his worth physically Kit would hold out as long as he could, still not sure what the black man was capable of.
He had to counter of course, leaning forward to begin his own punching barrage. The first aimed for his stomach, and the second for his chest. He worked his way up until after the fifth or sixth punch he was aiming for the genies head and neatly wrapped turban. He was much taller than Popo so it was actually easier for him to aim for the man's face than anything else. Popo did not seem the type to be pushed around by basic physical attacks, so Kit would try and kick it up a notch for him. After the eighth consecutive punch, Saito would raise up his right leg in an attempt to Knee the genie in the abdomin. Quickly after the strike, successful or not, he would follow up by dropping that same leg to the ground, and then raising the other to repeat the attack from the otherside. This time however rather than dropping the second knee attempt, he would extend the leg after impact -or miss- into a swinging Kick to the side.
Hand to hand combat is where Saito really shined. He could hold his own fairly well and was eager to show it. He would ask another question while the encounter too place just to ensure that the conversation continued as well as the combat. His voice labored with the breathing of their combat.
"This Kemuri must be dangerous. Is he who I would be fighting. Could I even handle a foe like that Mr. Popo?"
A legitimate question. The two had fought once already, and Popo had a decent feel for Kit's powerlevel. He must have also understood the situation that was taking place in Central well enough to recognize if Kit could even be of use. Of course if the situation was not important he wouldn't have asked, but really Saito could just be one more body to throw out as cannon fodder. He was uninterested in that task.

Popo didn’t receive an answer to his question, no instead Saito asked hima counter question about the collars. It would take Popo several seconds before being able to respond to Saito’s question as the spar began. As the punches began to be thrown, Saito was fasted enough to catch each one in the palm of his hands. The two began to go back and forth with attacks. Not one of them letting up or creating an opening. Even when the spin kick came for Saito’s head, he was quick to put up his arms to block. Popo quickly brought his leg back down as the two were locked in combat once again.
Saito leaned forward and began to throw some punches of his own. Popo was able to block the one aimed for his stomach, but the second one came quicker than expected. The fist slammed into his chest causing Popo to stumble backwards a step, but Saito didn’t let up, quickly closing the small gap. Then continuing his assault upon Popo. Regaining his ground Popo was able to catch the rest of the punches that were being thrown. He was grateful for this, because Saito started to focus on his head. Saito was much taller than Popo was, so it was a bit difficult to block his attacks.
After the eighth consecutive punch Saito would attempt to raise his leg, trying to slam it into Popo’s abdomen. Bringing his arms down, the knee would slam into Popo’s forearms. His forearms were pushed back against his abdomen, but the block was successful. Watching a Saito’s leg was brought back down Popo dropped his arms, his first mistake. Saito was quick to follow up with another knee strike this time with the opposite leg. The knee slammed into Popo’s abdomen, the skin on his abdomen rippled, while a slight pain began to arise.
Saito then followed up with attempt a swinging kick to Popo’s side, but Popo was just quick enough to move his arm to block the leg. The sheer momentum was still enough to push Popo to the side. Popo would push off Saito’s leg creating a small gap.
“Good start Saito, as for your earlier question the collars reduce the wearer’s power to a very low level. Right now almost anyone could stand up against Kaladar, since his power is reduced to a mere fraction of what it could be.” Popo said checking his side to see the damage.
Popo began to answer Saito’s second question “With continued training I believe that you will be able to handle someone like Kemuri. We have other fighters here that I believe are strong enough to face him. It is the other people that might have joined his side that I am worried about.” Popo explained as he quickly moved backwards, creating an even bigger gap between Saito and himself
Popo began to charge ki in his hands and then rapidly throw them at Saito. Popo knew the only way he would get stronger to face Kemuri would be if they continued sparring, the talking during it was a nice change. Popo would begin rapidly launching yellow ki balls that would explode on contact at Saito. Of course since he was launching them so fast not all of them were going to hit Saito. Many would hit the general area around him, but there would be some that would find their mark. After a few dozen yellow ki balls were thrown, Popo would bring his arms up ready to try to counter whatever Saito would do next.

Saito was able to put together exactly what the collars did. Physical strength couldn't be masked, but Ki energy clearly could be. Kaladar -who saito assumed to be the Kami they had been speaking of- was not able to fight off this evil by himself because of the collar that bound him to a lower level. Now he understood why they needed help. In a regular scenario like this one, perhaps Kami would have intervened on his own, but with a collar restricting his abilities he had to rely on the help of others. Saito did sense other power levels around the lookout. Three appeared to be in combat elsewhere, two currently stagnant powers deeper within the lookout, and one that appeared to have left while he was recovering. If one of them was Kaladar, and the one leaving wasn't involved, that meant that there were only four fighters currently standing to aid Kami, and frankly Saito wasn't impressed. He could feel the energy of the other fighters, but only one seemed to surpass his own energy, and as Kit had learned already, he wasn't much. God forbid one of the creatures he had already faced was working for Kemuri. They would all be screwed.
"How does one remove such an unsightly fashion statement?"
Saito replied just as his knee landed a solid blow into the genies gut. He was pleased to see that in a hand to hand combat he was superior to the trainer, at least at this current level. He had been so embarrassed before having yielded within minutes. This fight would not end the same way, Saito would not be on his knees unless Popo really worked for it. Unfortunately after two rather successful hits, Kit was back on the defensive as Popo lashed out with energy attacks. This is where Popo held the advantage. While Kit had a number of techniques he had not yet learned how to manage his energy in such a quantity. He could, at the moment, fire off 12 spirit gun blasts if he powered up to his maximum power. This would mean sacrificing all of his other techniques as well, and yet the black trainer was able to launch several dozen all at once. None of them were as strong as his spirit gun, but each was strong enough to cause significant pain, something Kit hoped to avoid.
The man's attacks were sporadic, flying quickly but in many different directions. The first one flew several feet to Kit's right, hitting the tiled floor with a resounding CRASH. The next one would not be so friendly as to fly out of his range, this one took aim at Saito's chest. Kit jumped to his left only to find himself in the path of another. From there he kicked off the ground into a jump that helped him avoid the next. He would flip in the air as another came his way. Landing on his hands, and pushing off the ground once more into a successful somersault, Kit continued his attempts to dodge the oncoming blasts. He had dodged more than he had the focus to count and was now consecutively back flipping across the tiled floor until finally reaching one of the many palm tree's Grabbing it with both hands behind his back, and kicking up his legs so that his feet were flat against the trunk of the palm he saw something he had never witnessed before. Popo was still throwing energy, and a lot of it. Now the attacks were aiming more properly, and several were flying at him, giving the man no time for a breath. Kicking off the tree up into the sky Kit tried to avoid the remaining blasts but found it impossible, he was now in the air exposed. Three of the blasts hit him almost simultaneously creating a smokescreen in the sky just a dozen feet over Popo's head. Perhaps had it not been for his demanding weights the man could have continued his graceful evasion, but alas his legs and arms pulled too heavily on his body, and he was struck.
For a second after the crash there was a serene silence, but Popo -being the well trained fighter that he was- would notice the spike in PL. Saito's body flew from the smoke, his muscles nearly twice the size they had been before the attack. His hair slightly longer and sharpened from the static frizz of his PL. His eyes had turned from a deep blue to a gold that matched his hair's root color. This was his focus state, and Popo had forced him into it. The next thing the genie would likely notice was the immense energy forming within the man's right hand. It was his ever so appropriately named Righteous Fist attack. The teal glow around his right hand would be thrust forward as Kit planned a downward punch on his opponent. If Popo dodged the fist would hit the marble, which to this point in the battle had been unscathed by their fighting, and create a small crater, twice the size of Saito's fist. If he hit Popo there was no telling how much damage the primed physical and spiritual attack would do. Regardless of how the punch turned out, Kit would land in a crouched position his fist's Ki slowly fading as he continued speaking.
"Who would you have us face if not Kemuri Popo?"
Not as though Saito knew any of them. It was unlikely considering his being locked up from the world. But if there was a chance he could learn of what was to come, he would take it. Though his spar with Popo was not concluded, even if the attack had hit its mark perfectly his opponent would likely not be injured to the point of surrender. Standing straight up, Kit put his right fist into the palm of his left hand, and cracked the fingers inside. He couldn't allow Popo the chance to fire off another volley like that one. His skin was steaming from the blast, and his Gi that had been carelessly fluttering at his waist was now burnt to a crisp. He had to play off a tough persona, as intimidation was half of any good fight, but another attack like that would be harder to shrug off.

Popo heard Saito ask how to remove the collar, but he was going to have to wait a little longer before responding. Popo watched as the first couple of energy blasts failed to find their target. The next ones after that were flying through the air at Saito’s chest. Popo watched as he jumped to the left avoiding the blast. From that Saito had to kick off the ground launching himself into the air to dodge more ki balls. Popo was impressed with Saito’s agility, as he began to wonder how long the man was going to be able to keep this up. Saito was now consecutively back flipping across the Lookout to avoid getting hurt.
“We assume that the device to remove the collar is on Kemuri’s person. Without that device those collars are going to remain around the neck of the king and Kami." Popo explained
Watching as the male combatant back flipped his way over to one of the palm trees. Popo was surprised to see the series of events that happened next. Continuing to throw yellow ki balls at Kit, he was also making sure to keep his eyes focused on Saito. Saito had grabbed on to the palm tree and was now resting his feet on the trunk. Popo wasn’t about to give Saito a rest as more and more blasts were sent his way. Saito managed to dodge a few more as he pushed himself off the tree, in to the air.
Unfortunately for Saito there were still more blasts coming his way. Three of the blasts would slam into Saito at the same time. Causing a smoke screen that was just above Popo’s head. It was at this moment that Popo stopped releasing yellow ki orbs from his hands. For a second there was nothing but silence, Popo could feel and hear the breeze. That is when he felt a power spike come from Saito’s position. It appeared that Saito was done holding back and was ready to truly begin training. Popo couldn’t help but smirk. This man was still full of surprises and was so far impressive in the early goings of this spar.
Saito shot out of the smoke. He was nearly twice his previous size His hair was slightly longer and some features about his person were different. Popo was glad to see that Saito finally increased his power to his max. Popo wondered how long it was going to be before this was done. Popo soon noticed the teal energy that was gathering in Saito’s right hand. As his fist was coming down, Popo would back flip out of the way. The moment Popo’s feet would hit the ground he would push back again creating more space. He would be glad he did this. Where Popo was standing just seconds before now was a crater. The tile flooring smashed into pieces from the attack.
“I do not know who has joined forces with Kemuri. Whoever it is, that is who you are going to be fighting Saito. I wish I could tell you who they were and how strong they were, but that information I do not have. I only know that two people are being forced to join Kemuri and they are Bear and Jenn. I have no doubt you sill see them when you leave here, if you decide to join us.” Popo said responding to Kit
HE watched as Saito stood in place, cracking his knuckles. Since Saito had just powered up. He was going to let him make the first move again. It had been quit some time since Popo has tried to fight defensively and he figured now was as good a time as any. Popo motioned for Saito to come at him as he stood with his arms by his side waiting for the male fighter.

When Popo stood firmly in place it told Saito that he would wait for the man to attack him first. Their exchange had heated up and it felt almost as if this were the true begining to their spar. He had already proven his ability to physically manuever, and with the small crater separating them he had proven he was capable of dealing some damage. Now he had to show that he could think strategically as well. Running into battle without a plan made little sense, and being able to predict your opponents next move could be the difference between life and death. Popo of course wasn't out to kill Saito, but treating the spar seriously was the only way to improve. He considered his surroundings, and the abilities of his opponent. Popo was very obviously a Ki based fighter. Saito had encountered others with this focus in the past so it was not impossible to predict his movements. While he could never accurately determine what was next, he could make assumptions based on the facts in front of him. Popo for example was quick to dodge any attacks that gave him too much notice, and would not hesitate to counter from a distance, which would put Kit at a disadvantage. Clearly the Crane was better in up close and personal fighting styles. He wouldn't disappoint in that regard.
"You would ask me to fight against an enemy I know nothing about? Seems a little...vacuous"
He didn't intend to insult the genies ability to plan an attack, but it did seem as though he was being recruited to fight with a blindfold. In this fight however he could see rather clearly, and darted forward, kicking off in a sprint to close the gap between them. With only a few feet to run it would be a short time to prepare, but Saito had no doubt that Popo could defend himself. Only a truly novice fighter was ever hit by the first punch, especially when their powerlevels appeared so reasonably close to one another. Bringing his right arm back, he prepared to throw is first punch, but just as the fist began its descent, the fighter made a sudden right turn. He had activated a new attack, his first truly Ki draining attack in the fight. His Ki dash had already gotten him far, especially when it came to the jump from Korin tower to the lookout. His dash pushed him in a full circle around Popo. Holding the Dash was not easy, and was impossible to do for more than a few seconds without causing harm to his own leg muscles, he had learned that through his training and previous encounters. He could however run around Popo for a few seconds in an attempt to disorient the fighter. At the forth second Saito felt a pull in his left leg, that was the sign that if he kept this going any longer he would inevitably harm himself, and so he began his assault.
It would come from behind Popo, both palms extended outward together -similar to how they were cupped for a Kamehameha wave, but with flat hands- The push would be aimed at the small of the man's back, directly at the separation between his vest and baggy white pants. The ability to stop on a dime was nice, and allowed him to continue his assault. If Popo somehow managed to guard himself from the initial push, he would still have to deal with the remaining combination of physical strikes. The next one would be his elbow. After forcefully striking Popo's back once already, he would aim for a spot slightly higher, close to the middle of the spine, and with a step forward would bring his right elbow down as hard as he could. If Popo had been pushed successfully, the next half of this attack was meant to put him on the ground. Regardless of where he ended up, saito would end the punishing combo with a kick, one powered by his full energy. If all of the attack was successful, Popo would be kicked from the ground and into the air towards the edge of the lookout. It was entirely possible that Popo at some point disrupted the physical barrage, but Saito hoped that was not the case.
His arms were up, and his feet were moving, Saito would be ready for the next attack. His leg pulsed gently, it wasn't yet in pain but showed significant signs of fatigue. He had only used the attack once, but as he had already learned three times was his limit, and two would have him pay a dangerous price. He would need to be careful about using it in the future.
