Mid-afternoon, an overcast sky cast its grays down upon the Valkyrie known as Tenshi. She was strolling through Central City, letting her mind wander, as she often did. After all, there was much to think about, and with her ever-increasing strength, her options were always increasing. She could go to work; Nodu had told her she could come in whenever she wanted. She could go shopping, buy clothes and groceries. Some days she could fly to the islands, or Mt. Paozu, though not particularly today, given the weather. But right now, she wanted to fight. Her muscles ached from yesterday, but as many people said, pain is weakness leaving the body.
Turning left at the end of the street, she followed a now more-than-familiar path, not having to think through the twists and turns. Eventually she came to a spot between two buildings, almost easy to look over. The brick exterior looked like nothing, but Tenshi knew the treasures that it held inside. Kit had been working hard to restore the Crane School to its former glory. Walking up the stone pathway to the door, she slid her shoes off, and knocked on the door frame. Three sharp raps, and with no response. Not caring much about it, she entered the dojo.
Inside, there were only four walls, no divider between the training area and the kitchen. She glanced briefly over the area that she and Kit had played a game called dominoes, which she had lost, before her eyes rested eagerly over the worn floor of the training area. Using the balls of her feet to walk, she made her way over to the spot. Closing her eyes, the woman flexed her toes, bent her knees, and brought her legs into a stance. Her eyes snapped open, set on a random spot at eye-level on the wall. Hands coming up in standard form, she began to practice.
At first, she did normal speed. Kicks, punches, blocks, slides, she felt graceful, unsure of how she looked. Her wings provided balance, but she knew from training with Kit that they also added more target area for opponents. She transitioned to a slower pace, everything done with exact, precise movements, more of a yoga than martial arts. This was used to practice focusing, making sure that there was no shake in your movements, no change to the motion. This style was more about training the mind rather than the muscles. It was relaxing, and Tenshi spent a lot of time on it whenever she trained by herself.
