The Cardinal of War found the half-saiyan’s banter lacking, as opposed to the absence of the saiyan’s. Of course the stoic hero, he mused. He had slain hundreds of them, each one more determined than the last to become legend. Shooting to the former prince’s side the blue haired warrior spoke of strategy, but only murder was in Ninjin’s eyes. Invictus Maneo was well acquainted with the cold, unforgiving stare. It burned and like all fires, it hungered for more fuel to hasten the flames.
“I, Guardian of Mement Mor, holy Relic of the One, will not allow you defilers to claim these innocent souls!”
The armor bellowed, echoing deep from within the hallowed armor before rolling out across the city. Light brimmed from within, making the holy metal glow red as he summoned forth all his power. First Aon’s Flare cannon struck Conri’s ki, overwhelming it and pushing it back as one would expect. Then Ninjin’s amassed energy entered the fray and for a first time in a long while the Cardinal of War was overwhelmed. For a moment he felt the power gap that the warriors before him knew all too well.
Once it was clear his wave would be overwhelmed he relinquished his attack. As the saiyan’s wave came to him he threw a hand up summoning Aon’s Shield, a spherical barrier of fiery white ki and another of his master techniques. Immediately as he is struck he is sent hurtling backwards. Throwing up his second hand to maintain the barrier he was thankful the three had been level thus sparing the city of damage from the monstrous attack; as Aon would never forgive the destruction of a blessed home and his children. It was why Invictus did not fight the beam as it overtook, allowing it to rocket his spherical shield across the sky.
As Maneo flew across the lands of his charge at a tangent from the planet’s surface, he felt himself reaching the upper limits of the atmosphere by gravity’s loosening grip. Leaning forward his armor clad fingers touched the raging white ki, infusing it with a portion of his very life force to strengthen it. Finally it halted, though the intense attack still raged over the barrier. A slight tremble set upon the mighty gauntlets of the archangel from the effort.
Then it ignited, the attacked expanded outward aggressively as the explosion took hold, far from the field of battle and at the precipice of space. Though no serious damage would befall the planet or city, the detonation itself sent shockwaves throughout. It was so strong that even by the time it reached Mor it shattered countless windows throughout the capital. But as always, a calm would follow the ‘big boom.’ A hush as all waited with bated breath to see the bloodthirsty heroes slay the protective villain.
However this calm would be short lived as no sooner than the black passed than Invictus fired back at the saiyans at full force, using his bukujutsu x2 technique to surpass his limits. As soon as he was within range the behemoth would activate zanzoken, exchanging his supersonic charge for the prince’s back. They had both attempted to bring damage down upon the capital; the holiest place on the holiest place in the UCO. The saiyan was vermin, all their people were. But most of all, they reminded him of a failure, long ago, that Aon’s gentle hand has finally allowed him to rectify. With his full available power, immediately upon appearing he would perform a double axe handle, bringing the heavy armored hands down upon the top of Ninjin.
“You were right Conri Lane, I did underestimate both the Hattori and you. It will not happen again... Though you are the strongest adversaries I’ve faced in many centuries, just like the rest you will fall. In Aon’s name; you will fall.”
His voice would echo through the skies, though as soon as he begun to speak he would move directly into the next move, immediately after attempting to repay the fallen prince for the disgrace he showed this hallowed land. Holding out a palm Invictus unleashed an Aon’s Flare in cannon form, directly at the adjacent half-saiyan. All his wings, bristling with shocking ki snap like whips should he shy the blast. In those few moments, Conri would find that the white barrier he had seen carried off by the attack had failed after all. Even Ninjin, if he had evaded the blow or looked up from where he fell, could see the seemingly impenetrable armor scarred black in some places while a few small cracks appeared in various others.
He was injured, as far as holy armor wearing angels go, and weakened, as anyone would be after expending so much energy, including life force. However the seasoned veteran knew he could not sit around for the saiyans to also regain their energy, hence why he made haste back from the planet’s boundary. They too would feel a similar drain to Cardinal, perhaps Ninjin more than Conri, but nonetheless he had to press the attack. His subordinates did not seem to faring well collectively; the timeless warrior knew this was the time to strike a decisive blow.

He noted that there was a distinct lack of talking from Ninjin and something wasn't right with it, he knew what Ninjin had said to not only him but Invictus as well. If that was how he felt, even if they did defeat the Cardinal the fighting would not be over so easily and he was prepared to make sure that Ninjin would not walk the path of a monster. The first thing that had to be dealt with though, was the armored being in front of them, he believed himself to be so far above them that they wouldn't be able to harm him.
"I have no intention to claim any lives except for you cardinals and your leader, you are the ones that have defiled lives."
The attacks were launched together push through the cardinal's attack continuing on as towards their intended target, all to clash against the shield of the Cardinal. Although while his attack was stopped uselessly, not seeing what affect his attack did have as Ninjin's attack began to push through the barrier despite Invictus' attempts to hold it off. The Cardinal was sent soaring from the area as the sheer power behind the attack pushed him away at tremendous speed and he remembered that the first instance he saw similar was when Ninjin was pointing such an attack at the planet itself. Did he really intend to become a murderer just like the Universal Church of One? Before his thoughts could go further the blast finally exploded and created a massive sphere of destruction that he could only imagine what it would have done had it hit the city or if it had been charged anymore than what it had been. The new level of power they fought at came with a whole new array of concerns, most of which centered around the whether someone wanted to be a genocidal maniac.
Conri and Ninjin would be having a conversation at the very least about what he had been planning when he first arrived, but that would have to wait until after they dealt with Invictus. The person that was headed towards them once more at an incredible speed, his heightened sensing abilities having allowed him to detect the energy coming towards them. Which helped, but wasn't enough to fully allow him to predict or try to catch the Cardinal by surprise. As evident when he appeared behind the Saiyan Prince and executed a double axe handle aimed at his back. However, Conri didn't get to see what happened with him as the Cardinal turned towards the Half-Saiyan with an extended hand charging and firing his attack point blank.
Throwing up a wall of compressed air as a barrier, it didn't last long but its purpose wasn't to completely stop the attack as he had no defensive techniques on the same level. Instead, it should allow him to take less damage than he would unprotected, which in this fight he would need to try to keep the damage as low as possible if he wanted to make sure that he succeeded here. When the blast reaches him it detonates and sends him flying down towards the city below crashing and making a small crater in the street with dust billowing up around the impact spot.
As the dust settled it revealed the Half-Saiyan standing once more though his body was worse for wear, it had at least been able to mitigate some of the damage that had been unleashed on him. Covered in blood, cuts, burns, bruises, and a slew of other wounds across his body. There was pain coursing through him as well, probably signaling that he had fractured or broken bones, however the adrenaline pumping through his body was dulling it now. His focus returned to Invictus, who had admitted that he underestimated them and that he would kill them in the name of Aon. That name was really starting to piss him off, because it cost millions of innocent lives that should never have been attacked in the first place.
"Screw you and your 'god' it's because of you both that I'm even on this planet. You take lives without a care about them, and if you claim the same of Saiyans then that just makes you as bad as them. I'm tired of the bullshit on both sides," he drew his line in the sand and focused his energy until a red aura mixed in with his golden one. He was tired of taking things easy with this fight if he wanted to make an impact then he was going to have to push himself past limits he'd never crossed before now. Pouring his Ki and life force into the energy surrounding his arms, he would need to take this technique to a new level of power if he wanted to do some serious damage to Invictus. The power that surged forth from Ninjin was the greatest he had ever felt amassed. Perhaps it was. The ball of energy that shot forth from Ninjin carried with in tremendous power, well worthy of the legend of the Super Saiyan. What could the armored foe do in face of such tremendous power? And with Conri Lane being a Super Saiyan and throwing an attack against the armored foe as well? Invictus was the most powerful being Ninjin had ever met. He surpassed even the two super Saiyans that now fought against him. Was the he most powerful member of the church? Ninjin doubted it, that would no doubt be Warlock, but it was possible that Invictus was one of the most powerful weapons of the church. He would be crushed against the might of the Saiyans.
The might behind the move that now rocketed towards the suit of armor had not been meant for him. It had been meant to destroy the world, to take out the Universal Church of One once and for all here on this accursed rock. They had taken everything from him. They would never stop. Not unless someone made them. They could not afford to lose here. Ninjin could not afford to lose here. And that meant killing Invictus Maneo. Ninjin gritted his teeth as Conri’s attack met the Cardinal’s and was pushed back. That was to be expected. Then his own attack hit. It quickly ate up Invictus’ attack and the Cardinal had just enough time to throw up a shield before being obliterated entirely.
As the blast struck his shield the Cardinal was sent hurtling backwards. Ninjiin was afforded a moment to breath as he watched the Cardinal fly away. The explosion that followed would end Invictus, and he would be able to take out the rest of those that had showed up to side with the Cardinal. Then he would get Conri and the others the hell off the planet and destroy it. No doubt the blue haired Saiyan would have –
The explosion that came next was the loudest and most powerful that Ninjin had ever heard, and he was rocked by the sonic waves that were created by it. Throughout the city below them glass shattered it blooming explosions. But something was wrong… Invictus… Was… alive?!?!
Before the prince knew what was happening the suit of armor was back amongst them. What would it take to kill the man?! How in the world had he survived the explosion that had just taken place? It had had behind it the power to destroy worlds. Was he immortal? Perhaps his power was even greater than what Ninjin could see. Was Aon in the suit of armor somehow? Aon had once come to Ninjin and spoken to him, right before Ninjin had almost died on New Vegeta during their attack. He had told Ninjin that he should have died a long time ago. Maybe he had finally decided to do it himself. Would Ninjin be able to accomplish his mission if the suit of armor could survive such a move and appear unharmed?
Ninjin barely had time to make a slight turn when Invictus’ hands came down together, but they caught him in the shoulder instead of the head. The prince felt his collarbone snap like it was paper mache, and he rocketed into ground, creating a crater where he fell.
The air wouldn’t come to his lungs, and his shoulder felt like someone was thrusting a thorn-covered branch in and out of it. His mouth was filled with a mixture of dirt, saliva, and whatever it was the streets on Mement Mor were made from. The world spun, but the only thing he could see in front of him was the dirt of the crater. With great effort he managed to flip himself over in the crater, taking in long drags of air. His vision was clouded and he concluded that it had to be from a concussion. His face still hurt, and his tail still hurt. Now to top it all off he couldn’t move his right arm. Above him Invictus launched an attack at Conri Lane. The metal suit of armor shone like light. And to Ninjin he seemed immortal.
Ninjin coughed but mentally caught the blood that tried to escape. Had something punctured a lung when he slammed into the ground? Add that to the mental-checklist of things that was wrong with his body at this point. How in the world was he going to complete his mission of destroying the planet and decimating the church when he was going to be killed? Once more it looked the like he had endured so much only to be kicked back down again. New Vegeta… would it be safe? Invictus said he was going to take the war there next. Akassa was said to be powerful, but would she be able to match the suit of armor’s might? Conri and Ninjin were both Super Saiyans and he was throwing them around as if they were a set of Earth action figures.
Thoughts of home came into his mind. What he wouldn’t give to be on New Vegeta right now. Home. But home was not Home anymore. His mother and father were dead. His younger brother was dead. The church had taken from him his home, but his sister had taken from him his family. He swallowed hard, and once again suppressed the blood that threatened to come with his cough. New Vegeta as it was no was vastly different from the one he had left.
When he returned home, would his sister give up her regency? Would she acknowledge Ninjin as rightful king? Scenes of their interactions flashed through his mind. Growing up, being friends, hating each other, nearly killing each other… Then the more recent interactions. The growing bitterness he had seen in her. No… There had been something different about his sister after the attack on New Vegeta. Then the confrontation in the War Room? Then what he had heard occurred. No. He had his answer.
His return to his home planet only meant war, as he would not bend the knee to his sister. She had murdered her way into his rightful place, had stolen everything from him. To return home meant to once again subjugate his people, so wounded, so recently kicked to their knees. Ninjin gritted his teeth. An angry tear slipped out of his eye. His body was broken, but he was still a Super Saiyan. He was still Ninjin Hattori damn it! He was the rightful King of New Vegeta, and that meant making a very difficult decision. He knew what he had to do.
The fingers of his left hand gripped the edge of the crater. Another tear slipped out of his eye. Images of his friends slipped in and out of his mind. The image of Leke smiling at him. Drinking and fooling around with Nasu. Walking the palace ground with Truffle. Goofing off with Kabocha, Endou, and Shiitake in the barrack. He looked up and was surprised at what he saw.
Invictus was wounded?! Somehow, beyond everything the prince had thought they had managed to wound him. So he was not immortal. Then there was hope. Still as injured as he was Ninjin was no doubt hurt worse, and to top it all off Conri was nowhere to be seen in the sky, no doubt flung away by the attack Ninjin had seen Invictus throw at him.
“This is not how things are supposed to occur!” A familiar voice snarled out in the back of Ninjin’s mind.
“Bite me.” The prince simply muttered back, and did his best to cut out the intruder. Invictus was still somewhere above him, and Conri was who-knows-where. There would only be one shot at this, he would get no do-overs. Slowly Ninjin rose to his feet, despite his body screaming in defiance. It was all he could do to get to his feet.
Once more he shot his power up as high as it would go. It felt good to be a Super Saiyan. At the very least he would always had that.
“Will you never just lay down and die!?” The familiar voice hissed in the back of his mind once again. Why did Aon always have to butt in when he was dying? Did the Cardinals get this type of personal one-on-one interactions with their god? Or did that honor belong solely to the person who wanted it least in the universe?
“Saiyans have a problem with staying down for too long, you of all people should know that.”
Ninjin gritted his teeth, and somewhere off in the distance he felt Conri lane begin to charge an attack. Good. He would need it if this didn’t work. His plan was going to cost him everything, and he wouldn’t be around to see the aftermath. Mouse… Ninjin considered him a friend, and he was a good man. The universe needed more Conri Lane’s. More people willing to stop those like… well like himself. Those that would do unspeakable things. Ninjin thought a silent goodbye to his friend, and to the others gathered, William and Frigid, two others he considered friends. Then to Celeh. Had there been something there? He had thought so, but maybe that had just been end of the world thought. Still, whatever else there was there, there was friendship.
With a roar he lurched from the crater as fast as his bukujutsu at full power could take him. As soon as he got close to Invictus he would Zanzoken behind the suit of armor.
He was doing this for his people. His sister would never bend, and neither would he. It would cost many more Saiyans their lives. His first and only act as true king of New Vegeta would be giving his life for his people. He would commit no genocide. And truthfully his heart was relieved. He would have done it. He knew in his heart and soul that he would have done it and never looked back, but it would have destroyed some part of him that he would and could never have gotten back. Perhaps even that he would have done it was enough. Could the civilians of the church ever be anything other than fanatical worshipers of the death of half-breeds and Saiyans? Was that up to him to decide? It didn’t matter anymore. His people would be made safer by the stability of the kingdom, and by the death of one of the greatest weapons of the Church. He could give them nothing else as King.
“LONG LIVE THE SAIYAN RACE! LONG LIVE THE HATTORIS!” He roared with a defiant fury.
He would say no other words. He didn’t know how he knew what he was doing next, but it felt like something was unzipped from inside of him. His found that his last thought was of his son, Azuki. He knew nothing of him, only that he existed. Would he ever know what his father had done? Would anyone? Then all of his energy ruptured forth, blowing out in all direction, but most importantly directly into the wounded Invictus. It was a wave 2,665,454 pl strong and contained all the power of the Former Saiyan Prince. He would not be alive to see what happened to the rest of those on Mement Mor, or even if his attack had worked.
Ninjin Hattori had given himself for his people.

The Cardinal of War’s plan worked flawlessly, as to be expected of one in his position. Whilst the boy prince had the wherewithal to move his head, the move still connected. The sickening snap of the Ninjin’s collarbone was a sweet symphony to Invictus. Meanwhile Conri threw up a meager defense before being blasted away, creating a crater similar to his ally’s. He had successfully injured and separated both opponents; furthering his plan to divide and conquer, as it was clear with the damage he was sustaining that he could not maintain a handicap contest forever.
However in single combat they were around two thirds of his own power, a feat he could easily handle. Then he heard his lord speak to him, as he had when he once stood at his side in his heavenly plane. “Relieve the heretic prince of his mortality!” came the voice of the Almighty, with the Cardinal’s mind. Throwing an arm across his chest and nodding his head slightly he obeyed without question.
“As you command, my lord.”
Immediately he began to gather energy, his armor shining red hot as the ki welled up within. His omnisense alerted him to Ninjin’s and Conri’s movements however, though he shifted toward the half-saiyan. The prince could barely pull himself from the crater of his own impact. While quite banged up by his appearance, the mutt still had the audacity to defame the One.
"Screw you and your 'god' it's because of you both that I'm even on this planet. You take lives without a care about them, and if you claim the same of Saiyans then that just makes you as bad as them. I'm tired of the bullshit on both sides."
Invictus scoffed; indeed the closest thing to a laugh anyone would ever hear him utter. He did not understand, how could he; his brethren and he are all of were thieves of life. They would never understand what it is to be born of the Light.
“You are fool, half-blood. Your resurrection was not sanctioned; your mere existence is blasphemy. The arrogance to ignore Aon’s decree by mixing race is too unforgiveable. Lives of those born outside of Aon’s light are forfeit upon conception. You see I take no lives because your people and you were never meant to have one to begin with. The church corrects the natural errors of the universe, to align them with Aon’s plan. This you shall see soon enough; and the rest of your people shortly after that.”
It was then the General felt Aon’s presence once more, though it was with Ninjin now. How peculiar that a heretic be given such an ethereal gift as hearing His voice, Aon truly wanted the saiyan did perhaps more than any other. The utter disrespect he showed the Almighty made the Cardinal seethe with anger. Then Conri began to charge energy as well, distracting him for a brief moment when suddenly the Hattori’s signature disappeared for a flash. Thanks to his omnisense he found the saiyan right behind him, but something felt wrong.
“LONG LIVE THE SAIYAN RACE! LONG LIVE THE HATTORIS!”
As he spun the Cardinal knew what was coming, the boy was not the first to sacrifice his life in such a manner. However the move was a severe shock, and despite his promise he had once more underestimated the would be king. Never would the archangel believe that Ninjin Hattori would self-destruct; the most selfless move possible. Invictus had just enough time to convert the energy amassing within him into a self-barrier to line his body.
Then the blast came, as the boy’s body seemed to give way like a dam under the weight of a tsunami as his power rushed out in a massive blast. As the dome of destruction expanded it enveloped the Cardinal, as it surely would Conri and anyone else at the city’s epicenter. However even on the farthest reaches they would feel the surging rush of air and crashing thunder of the explosion. The blast itself would light the sky and the resulting cloud of debris would cover a huge concentric circle at the city’s center in a thick haze for several moments.
A calm would wash over after the mighty explosion, though like all they do not last. Massive slabs of concrete began to tremble before a massive fist exploded outward, sending a shower of debris in all directions as the Cardinal of War appeared, before pulling himself out of the tunnel he created through the mountain which had lay atop him. A crack, from which many tributaries flow, winds down the center of his helmet. His armor is nearly unrecognizable; uneven in some areas due to being melted off by the proceeding attacks, and riddled with cracks. Managing to his feet his wings, barely wisps of what they were a minute ago, steady him as he looks out over the battlefield as he takes in his surroundings with his omnisense intact, despite his heavy damage.

Despite the gathering of his energy he was taking a few moments to assess all the damage to his body while he could, there was far too little time for him to get everything but if he didn't figure it out they would make him more vulnerable during the upcoming fighting. Even though he was checking his body for the damage, he could still pay attention to what was going on around him as well, able to sense the area where Ninjin had landed. His power was waning, a bad sign no doubt for both of them as they were still trying to combat this bastard of a cardinal so that he couldn't kill anyone else for whatever bullshit reason he wanted to make up. He'd had enough of that already, he was done with their excuses, they wanted to commit genocide without any real reason than he was going to throw everything he had at them and let them have a taste of what it was like to have their life treated with such little regard. Conri had done nothing yet they still came after him and his family, there was no more giving them the chance to repeat that and he set himself to destroy each and every one of the cardinals that were here. They pushed him passed the limit of his tolerance and they were going to get a taste of just what that meant, his rage had reached a new plateau and he was done being the nice guy.
Invictus' words would have caused an even worse reaction though, if not for the fact that Conri could sense Ninjin rushing toward him and normally he would be running straight towards the armor clad warrior as well, but his instincts told him that the situation was dangerous. Something that he was seeing threw his instinct into flight mode, but he couldn't understand what it was, he was not one to ignore his instincts however. Activating his Sankanken his arms were wrapped in the energy of his Ki and Life force, he wasn't one to waste the energy he had been gathering, plus he would be able to utilize it if things became more hectic than he was expecting of them because nothing ever went according to plan. However, his instincts were something that he didn't ignore they had been trained to help him make decisions in the midst of battle like this and he turned on his heel launching himself in the opposite direction of Ninjin and Invictus. His feet carrying him passed several blocks of street in almost no time, his speed had reached such a level that he was surprising even himself with just what he was actually capable of right now. His attention was focused back towards the other two when he heard Ninjin's roar of defiance, something inside of him told him it was going to be bad from that. Without any pause there was a sudden explosion of Ninjin's power that even his own senses were hard pressed to understand where he got it from.
What was worse was the sheer size of the explosion as well, he stopped running when he realized he couldn't outrun it, understanding why he had started to run in the first place. Turning back towards it, he knew he couldn't escape it, but maybe he could manage to survive it. As the wave came rushing towards him he leapt into the air and curled into a ball, bracing his body as much as he could. Crossing his arms in front of his body to put his own energy between him and that blast, it probably wouldn't help too much but it might let him survive the blast in one piece. As the blast washed over his body he was thrown backwards through anything that was in his and the wave of energy's path. Smashing through several buildings of various sizes, shapes, and designs as if they were made of paper although they did not feel that way to his body considering the force and speed that he was being pushed through them with. When it finally stopped the only sensation that the Half-Saiyan could feel was pain and weariness, as he opened his right eye he could see that he was inside of a building at the moment. There was a creeping darkness around the edge of his vision as he forced himself to even stay awake, his body just wanting to rest now but there was no way he could comply to its desires. Looking down at his arms, he could see that they were still surrounded by the energy of his Sankanken, but they were now hanging limply, crap that meant that they were broken for sure this time. They were also severely burned from the power of that blast, he could tell with the smell that was in the room, it was the stench of burnt flesh. He knew that smell all too well, and it only served to make the physical pain worse now, as the galactic champion now had to struggle to keep his composure through this whole thing. The memories flooding his mind made him want to curl up and just cry, signs of his repeated failure to protect what was important to him, maybe this was a sign that he should stop struggling.
The energy continued to drain from his body, he could feel himself slipping away and losing his grasp on staying even coherent and when he looked down at the rest of his body he understood why that was the case. There was a pipe sticking through his chest, which had probably punctured his right lung and the only reason he was even still alive was because it had missed the major artery as well as his heart by sheer luck. All he could do was chuckle at the sight of himself right now, but that just caused him even more physical pain which was not the smartest of things for him to do. Extending his senses out to see what the damage was elsewhere, he was made immediately aware of the absence of Ninjin's power. Shit, he had given up his own life to take out that sonuvabitch Cardinal, and as he extended his sense he was made aware of just how that had failed. He could only sense that the cardinal was still alive though, unable to figure out how bad off he might be or not. Closing his eye he could only chuckle a bit before letting his head fall back against the wall behind him, at least it felt like a wall and that was all he really cared about right now.
If Ninjin had given up his life for such an enormous burst of power and the Cardinal was still alive what was he going to do against that on his own? He was just really tired right now and it seemed that there wasn't much that he could do in his current situation, he was facing an insanely uphill battle. If he did the same as Ninjin, would it even make a dent against the cardinal or would he still be able to survive the blast? His strength was draining from him with each passing second as well, the wounds were probably much more severe than what he was aware of, but then again his body was just filled with pain to the point he couldn't even understand what had happened to him during the blast. Before he could think anymore he was hit with a sudden coughing fit, which shot a sharp pain throughout his body during the entire thing. When he looked to where he had coughed, he saw blood on the wall beside him from it, and that was never a good sign to see, in fact things seemed to be going slowly around him. Oh...that was what was going on? It made sense now, that blast was more powerful than the one that Invictus hit him with so it made sense now given the condition of his body. Connecting all the dots in his head, it just meant that he was dying, a rather disappointing end he supposed with the whole bleeding to death thing but it might have been fitting. It gave him time to reflected on how much he had failed those around him, and even let down Ninjin who unleashed such a blast in a desperate attempt to take out the foe that was giving them both so much trouble.
Maybe he would just close his eyes and let it slowly take him away, he was tired anyways so there wouldn't be much that he could do, right? His mind began to wind through the events of his life, that was what happened when you were dying right? That whole life flashing before your eyes thing? Surprisingly enough there were things in his life that he had just flat out forgotten about, but now he could remember them crystal clear. A soft smile as he remembered the time that he had actually spent with his grandpa in the city, and how much he had actually learned from the man. One of them being that he shouldn't give up on anything without a fight, and he had fought with as much as he had but he still lost. The other thing was that if he wanted something then he couldn't beg for it, he had to go and grab it with his own hands. He continued to smile at that thought, his grandpa had taught him more about himself than his old man had, even though he fought against him for so many years. The memories continued on as well, moving through his teenage years quickly, he had only really fought against his old man and met his cousins during that time.
The next part he forced his mind to jump past because it just reminded him of everything that he had lost along with his own failure, it was not something that he wanted to see just before he went to the other side. Then came the bit of time before they had started the fighting on Mement Mor and were talking to Ninjin, it was when he remembered the words that his friend had spoke, that Vegeta had been attacked which caused him to come to this planet in retaliation. Damn it, what happened to the people on the planet and what happened to Akassa!? Did something happen to her? What about Masamune and his wife, were they alright?? Damn it, why didn't he pay more attention at the time? Oh, right, giant blast aimed at the city. Shut up, you try keeping track of thoughts while dying and see how easy it is for you! Then what was the end result of all of that? Who was still alive and who was dead? What about the Earth or humans that might have been visiting New Vegeta? Were they killed with just as much of an empty heart as the Saiyans? His hair had returned to its normal shade of color by this point his energy starting to drop off to the point of not being able to sustain the form. Although that suddenly made the pain much worse as well, however, he grit his teeth through it. It probably wouldn't be much longer now, it was a shame too, he could think of a much better way to die and it wasn't because he was in the middle of a battle.
Wait, that was right, there was a much better reason for him to die than to allow himself to give up here. Opening his eye once more, having not realized it had closed, he uses what strength he has to grab onto his arm with his psychokinesis and move it to his pocket. Thankfully, his pants from the knee up were still relatively alright, the rest of his clothes were not so lucky and it made him look like he had blown them up by transforming. That would be a silly thing though, he'd have to become some kind of big, hulking creature to do that. Shaking the thoughts from his head, he focused on the situation at hand, grabbing the item inside that would help him he would need to be careful with this next series of events he needed to pull off. He needed speed and precision, he'd probably only get speed out of his body right now for what he needed, but that was alright too. Wrapping his psychokinesis around the pipe that was sticking through his chest he brought the hand with the bean to his mouth, and prepared to release it into his mouth. His mind was the only thing that would even work properly right now, but it was all that he needed. Bracing himself for the pain that was going to follow, he pulled with all the strength he could muster and yanked the pipe from his chest and then threw the bean into his mouth. He couldn't afford to try chewing and instead swallowed it whole, hoping that it would kick in before he bled out from the hole in his lung.
Thankfully the bean had worked its magic just in time, but even then it seemed he was damaged so badly that it would likely take something much stronger than the bean to repair it all. However, it did the job, his body was mending itself the holes, burns, cuts, and all the other wounds were healed almost instantly as his body was flooded with renewed strength. Standing up, he looked at his arms, noting that there were still a couple disfiguring burn scars along them but he didn't mind that too much. There were scars along his chest, one was the hole where the pipe had pierced and another he was unsure of, but it went across his chest horizontally and was easily noticeable. His vest was gone as well, destroyed from all the damage that it took, it was a shame though he did like that vest. Flexing his arms a bit he tried to make sure that he was back up to one hundred percent fighting strength, and so far it seemed like that as well. His eyes focused in the direction where Invictus was and there was no need to find a source of anger, he had it in spades with this bastard. He had insulted the deaths of his family, forced his friend to attempt to blow himself up in an attempt to stop him, and threatened the people that he cared about who were on this planet. Worst of all, he had almost put it into Conri to just give up the fight, "I'm not going to die until I steal a kiss from Akassa and she kills me, so bring your A game universe."
With the new found rage and determination he once more summoned forth the strength of millennia gone by, as his hair spiked and changed color to the golden shade, followed by his eyes once more becoming a sharp emerald color. It was this golden form that seemed to stand in stark contrast to Invictus, he seemed to have a golden glow as well but in the eyes of the Half-Saiyan it was a tarnished gold. The rage inside of him had boiled over the top, but this time instead of letting it rage around him, he focused it like a laser towards Invictus, if he was going to be fueled by his rage then he was going to make it work for him. Glancing at the energy wrapped around his arms, thankfully it was still there, already powered by the energy he had put into it his fist would be able to match the strength of the Cardinal's blows like this. There was still much more fighting for him to do, there was far more pushing him forward not letting him just give up the ghost as it were and he was ready to accept that responsibility as well. He had brought this about with his winning the Galactic Championship, then that meant he had a responsibility to end it with his own power.
Leaning forward he gathered compressed air under his feet and launched himself towards his opponent, as he flew by he stuck his hand out to summon Fragarach into his hand, still in its war hammer form. As he neared the Cardinal, he closed his eyes for a second, "If there are any other gods out there, then I'll just ask this once. If you give even a fraction of a damn about the people in the universe than do something now, cut the power to Aon's lap dog or just let me get in a fatal strike against this bastard. I doubt any of you will listen or do anything though, so I'll take this with my own strength and show you whose universe this actually is," he finished before opening his eyes. As he neared his target, he noticed the damage of the armor and fixated his own mind to breaking him apart, the first strike would be a rotation of his body so that he could strike with the war hammer in the dead center of the chest once more. The same spot that he had struck the first time with his hammer. The next would be a punch aimed towards the head of the Cardinal with his right arm engulfed in the energies of his Sankanken.
"Your words show that you are not a warrior Invictus, you're just a dog that puppets his master's words. You try to ignore the personal responsibility of your actions by claiming it not of your gods will or not under his light. There is no need for me to respect you as a warrior anymore, I'll just treat you like every other scumbag that I've come across." (Sankanken 1/3 Zenkai? Hopefully this is all good and I don't have to rewrite the whole thing xD)

As the Cardinal of War looked out upon the desolation brought to the city by the heretic prince, a great sorrow befell him. This planet, crown of the Church, and especially its jewel, Mori, were his charge. His armor had suffered more damage than it ever had before. Yet it still held strong, bonded by Aon’s will. Invictus was thankful for that.
But the crown jewel had been defiled by the interlopers, and its shame fell upon Maneo. The Great General whom knew no shame or defeat in centuries. He reviled the feelings presented to him now, as he knew only the satisfaction of flawless victory. Filthy saiyans, bane of Aon’s existence. The cretins were exterminated many years ago, as Aon saw fit. Yet they defied Him. Invictus was their reckoning.
Slowly a great anger began to rise in the archangel as he looked from the armor to the devastation surrounding him. The armor was formed by Aon’s hand, a more sacred vestment one could not find. It was as holy a relic as any. And the capital city of the Church’s capital planet, the holiest of grounds. The highest forms of sacrilege and heresy. The timeless warrior cursed for his inability to punish Ninjin for his crimes. Now only Conri remained and by the feeling of his signature that would not be true for long.
“Do not worry Ninjin Hattori… I will repay you in kind for Mori’s desecration. I will gather the Church’s armies and rain fire upon New Vegeta. I will crush the still beating hearts of every last friend and family you ever knew. Then I will eradicate the entire moon. You may have taken your body boy, but I will crush your soul.”
Invictus promised himself as he shook off the damage he received, regaining his composure. But then the half-saiyan’s power shot right back up to its highest levels. How was it possible, moments ago he had been on his death bed, but now he raced forth at the Cardinal, full of energy.
“Accursed beans… Once I complete the saiyan extermination, I will eliminate every last one of them in the universe.”
He would murmur to himself near the same moment Conri gave himself a pep talk. Too many a time the beans had caused him grief. The church concocted their own elixir, with Aon’s blessing, with an identical ability, however it only worked on mortals. Invictus was a being of light. Besides such, as a warrior he finds them begetting a weakling. But, then again, fewer existed with higher standards than he.
As Lane neared the Cardinal made note of the energy coating his fists. Comprised of life energy along with his ki, something Invictus was quite aware of due to mastery of his own life force. The half-saiyan swung his once more summoned war hammer for Maneo’s scarred chest. Throwing forth his right arm up, a round shield seemingly comprised of a sun appeared at the ready. Bringing the shield forth with momentum, Invictus deflected the blow as Lane went in to strike with his fist.
The two were more evenly matched now than ever before. While Invcitus was still quite stronger, the damage he had sustained allowed Conri to close the gap. Now he would be able to challenge the archangel in singles combat. Naturally the ever aware Maneo knew of this and had to rely on his skills; which had been building for hundreds of years. He knew he had to press his experience if he wanted to end the fight favorably.
When the strike came around his shield he pulled himself back with help of his bukujutsu, turning the blow to the approximation of one’s collarbone. It left a heavy dent, evident of the power behind it. Not one to waste time, the General swung his left fist, backed by the solar round shield emanating from his form. Driving both first and shield into the Conri’s gut, the Cardinal used the move to set up for the real strike.
Countless years of practiced precision showed as he picked out every weak point in the half-saiyan’s anatomy and in that moment with his right arm unleashed a flurry of strikes. Each would cause excruciating pain if not momentary weakness of the effected limb. Regardless of the outcome his wings would come alive once more, crackling with power as the Cardinal exerted more energy. They would snap forth at the warrior, attempting to force an opening for more critical strikes.
“I need not your respect half-blood, only your life; which I will take.”

As he moved across the now wide open landscape he was saddened to see the level of destruction that had been brought to the planet, but he knew that there was nothing to do about it now. The type of attack that Ninjin had used was one of a last resort which meant that he had been pushed to that point whether it be through psychological means or physical. Regardless he would offer Ninjin a small wish that he have a good journey in the afterlife now, and promised that he would take up his fight to bring the church that pain that they rightly deserved. He would focus his anger against the cardinals, bishops, and the like while leaving the citizens alone because unlike the church he did not need to kill people that couldn't defend themselves. He had almost slipped up on that earlier and he should thank Invictus for that, but now he had more of a reign on his emotions. While it wasn't perfect, it was enough to allow him to not target bystanders again at the very least and that was all he needed. Eyes focused on the target as he neared, Invictus wasn't in the greatest of shape anymore and it showed not just in his appearance but in his power as well. There was still a gap, but it was no longer as large as it had been thanks in part to the sensu bean as well as Ninjin's sacrifice, and it was not an opportunity that he would just let slip by.
As the hammer went to strike a round shield of energy was brought up to block it, which showed that Invictus was on the defensive even more so than before now. A smirk spread across his lips now that this fight was going to be more evened he was going to have fun dealing with Invictus. Of course as he struck out with his fist he was measuring the Cardinal's response to his attack as well to see just how well he was paying attention to Conri's own plan of attack. The attack to his gut hit hard, but it was also exactly what the Half-Saiyan needed as he opened his fist and unleashed a barrage of the Renzoku Energy Dan at point blank range for the same point that his fist had connected with previously. Using the force of Invictus' own strike and the power of his attack to launch himself away from the Cardinal although he had been struck by a couple of the follow up punches from his opponent, it had not been as bad as it could have thanks to his attack allowing him to create some distance.
"Sorry, but my life isn't for you. I'm keeping it for someone that's actually worthy of it, not you and your whiny dick of a god," his tone calm with a hint of amusement to it. Though he had received some backlash from his own attack as well, he was going to start enjoying himself with this and using all of the advantages he had at his disposal. While Invictus no doubt had the edge in power and experience, there were areas that Conri excelled at as well, especially thanks to his genetic make-up and they were ones that he practiced with quite often. Bringing his arms up in front of him he hopped from one foot to the other for a bit before making the 'bring it' motion towards Invictus to show that he was ready to take him on. Just to make things a touch more interesting as well, he was going to add a bit of insult to the injury that the larger warrior had going for him.
"You know, you say you won't keep underestimating me, but I think you always will because of how Aon made you. You've got a preconceived prejudice built into your very being that makes you look down on others. Whether it be intentional or not, it's a glaring flaw that you seem to have going on for you," taking a stance that he hadn't in ages his left fist was held out to act as a barrier between Conri and Invictus while his right hand was held hidden up against his body as he turned himself to the side aligning his body so that it was straight with his arm and that the Cardinal would only see the side of him along with his extended fist. This time he would wait for Invictus to come for him, and would use the time to see what all was inside the ancient warrior's head, it might be fun.
"By the by, you should probably be less worried about my Saiyan half and more concerned with my Human half, I'd consider that the more dangerous component here. Especially with how the entire universe seems to underestimate humans at every chance it has, I think that's the biggest strength that human's have as a whole," he figured he should give Invictus a bit of a head's up about that, given that Conri himself tended to think his human half was where the biggest well of potential lay with him. Well, maybe it was the mix of the races that created that well, he could probably think on that latter anyways. The point was that Invictus was only seeing a Saiyan mix, he wasn't looking at the whole image and that would be a fatal mistake against the Galactic Champion.

Invictus landed a decisive blow into the half-saiyan’s abdomen. Then the apparent genetic predisposition toward self-destruction hailing from Conri’s saiyan half surged to the forefront once more. The fool lit up the living armor with a point blank renzoku energy dan, enveloping them both in the explosion. Luckily the great general was able to land a few blows, albeit grazing ones, as the knave propelled himself backward. Maneo quickly took refuge behind his round shield, which grew in size to encompass his whole body.
"Sorry, but my life isn't for you. I'm keeping it for someone that's actually worthy of it, not you and your whiny dick of a god.”
The insolent worm chuckled amidst a new found cheer. It irritated the ageless warrior, beyond the profound sacrilege. His supposed friend had killed himself in vain to stop the unstoppable. He had his entrails rearranged. Now he pranced about, taunting the Cardinal; an overzealous monkey eager to play. They invade the Church’s holy gem, lay waste to its capital city and now one of the chief instigators pokes the king bear? Insanity.
"You know, you say you won't keep underestimating me, but I think you always will because of how Aon made you. You've got a preconceived prejudice built into your very being that makes you look down on others. Whether it be intentional or not, it's a glaring flaw that you seem to have going on for you."
As the smoke cleared, War would be rolling his shoulders. Six wings crackled with energy behind him, eager to inflict pain. The shield was gone, transformed into a concentrated ki gauntlet to double his own with a matching one on his other hand. They covered all the way to his elbows in a fiery energy which burned like the surface of the sun, similar to his weapons. Meanwhile the defiler took a stance reminiscent of many styles he had seen in his years, though peculiar in its own right.
"By the by, you should probably be less worried about my Saiyan half and more concerned with my Human half, I'd consider that the more dangerous component here. Especially with how the entire universe seems to underestimate humans at every chance it has, I think that's the biggest strength that human's have as a whole.”
The cardinal scoffed.
“I assure you mongrel I am quite familiar with humans. They are an integral part of the Church; the Cardinal of Truth whom you fought is a member of said race. Humans are a sly, cunning people capable of great manipulation and limitless greed. They are, whoever, still not a threat. However, combine a snake with an ape, and you have an abomination. Vile cunning mixed with ruthless barbarism; you are the sum of our disdain, mutt.”
Without any indication two beams of white flames, similar to Aon’s Flare, sprang forth from the eyes of the helmet. They were aimed straight at the half-saiyan’s chest and would explode upon impact. But Invictus was already on the next move, just waiting for the boy’s reaction. As soon as he attack landed or otherwise he would disappear only to reappear a fraction of a second later before Conri, using zanzoken to launch himself forward in a blur of speed, already with an uppercut in motion as he appeared. The intent was to shatter some ribs, hurt his breathing and lessen his endurance. Not one to linger Maneo would spring into a combination, using the energy clad fists to light up the boy and follow up on the initial strike, land or not.
The ki infused tentacle-like wings of light hovered about ominously, caging in the warriors.

There was a knowing smile formed across the lips of the Half-Saiyan as he spoke his words, Invictus was the type that insults to his god would be taken personally and worse yet it was spoken to by his enemy. To make matters worse it was an enemy who had pushed him harder than ever, and who thanks to the sacrifice of his comrade was fighting on much more even ground than before now. While he was saddened by the fact of Ninjin's death, he wasn't going to waste the opportunity that his friend had given him either and he was going to fight the best way that he knew possible. Although, he wondered if the Cardinal had come across a way of fighting like his own or if he was going to see something new while facing off with the revitalized Conri Lane. It seemed that his words were having an effect as well given the way Invictus was starting to act.
At his words, he could only laugh at the Cardinal, he had pegged him right on the head with his words. There was a serious flaw in Invictus' thinking and it was rather fun to have him reveal his own prejudices against other races. It would be entertaining to see what the Cardinal thought of other races, but he doubted there would be time for that with the actions he was taking. His hands wrapped in energy like Conri's own and it seemed that he was ready to continue this battle once more. That was fine with the Half-Saiyan he was going to be pulling out all the stops here himself, but he would continue to attack Invictus on two fronts, given how he was starting to get worked up already.
"Wow, it is so funny to hear how ingrained your prejudices are, and I know all about Sebastian. I wonder why you haven't told him the full goals of the church, however, it seems strange that you cry of human manipulation and yet when I spoke to Sebastian before he said the Church had no problem with half breeds. Uh oh spaghetti oh's it seems like someone wasn't completely honest with one of the other Cardinals, and I wonder what he would think if he heard you talk about him like that. Man, when Aon makes flawed things he certainly doesn't half ass it either given the evidence I'm seeing here, you underestimate and make up your own judgments about races. Just sad really."
The blasts that had been fired at his chest were interesting, though he understood Invictus a bit more than that, someone with centuries of experience wouldn't just use that attack alone. Crossing his arms in front of his chest, the energy surrounding his arms helped dampen the blasts from the Cardinal's eyes as it pushed him back and left his arms with scorch marks along them, he could feel Invictus' energy approaching him and when the blast cleared he saw the fist aimed for him. Instead of trying to blocking this attack he had a better way of dealing with it, using the ape-like flexibility of his body, he bent backwards as if to sway back away from the strike, but there would be much more to it than that. As the fist got closer he threw himself backward so that the fist would slip over him and using his hands to brace himself while also launching himself around the fist his feet aimed for a missile kick to Invictus' chest. To add to that, his leg surged with power and accelerated his body to smash even harder into the chest plate of the Cardinal utilizing his Champion's Cannon to increase his power.
"Hiss Hiss, Ook Ook motherfucker," using the Cardinal's own analogy of what Conri was to add insult to injury, utilizing the attack to also bring Fragarach back to his hand. Shifting its form to that of a .75 caliber pistol he aimed the weapon at the damaged helmet and pulled the trigger for a three shot burst of ki bullets to blast the weakened section to try and further damage the helmet and possibly break it off. Maybe if he could do that it would shatter some of Invictus' resolve, he assumed that no one had ever been able to damage or break the thing, so if it happened it might be a strong shaking of the Cardinal's foundations. That was just a wild guess though, it could just as likely turn his opponent into a raging berserker, but there was only one way to know for sure and it was either do or die at this point of the fight anyways. Any punches Conri would roll with, taking a few of them as he swayed, rolled and otherwise moved his body to lessen the impact, but he could only do so for so many, thankfully he did have a hardy body to take a few hits. He couldn't keep taking them though and he needed to try other attacks to see what might effect the cardinal better, maybe start chipping away at his own fighting capabilities. Updated PL Lock Conri Lane - Base: 135,215 / Frenzy: 270,430 / Oozaru: 676,075 / SSJ: 1,487,365
~
The half-saiyan took the eye beams to the chest, reinforced by his ki clad forearms. It was apparent that Conri was beginning to understand the cunning of the great general and was trying to play on even ground. Invictus would scoff at such an idea; to believe another warrior, especially a mutt, could best him was incomprehensible. He was the timeless warrior, an archangel of Aon.
Nonetheless, he was prepared for the follow up strike, strangely bending backwards to dodge and uppercut, though he followed through with a memorable attack. The same as before, though it had been a fist that time, it was unmistakable. Using his omnisense War adapted quickly and fluidly. Bringing up his other energy infused hand he went to intercept the kick whilst simultaneously opening his other fist, which given Lane’s dodge and follow up, placed it just above his chest as he summoned his weapon to his hand.
The two moves would strike at once, Conri’s plasma explosion pulsing over the living armor as it shatters the ki over his hand and sends him flying backwards while a wall of surging white flames would envelop the half-saiyan at point blank range. Lane’s own attack sending the Cardinal out of the resulting explosion. Nearly a hundred feet away, the archangel’s tendril wings of light would snap out in all directions, as if to catch him, thus halting his movement. Steam rose off his blackened frame .
“Poor boy… The Cardinal of Truth tells you something and you believe him? Sounds like he told you the truth he thought you wanted to hear.”
A fleeting chuckle escaped his nonexistent lips, a move which surprised even him. Such a noise he had not uttered for longer than any he commanded could remember. Yet the half-saiyan’s foolishness was laughable. Had no one told him it was pointless arguing religion with a believer? Better to argue the paint off the walls or the blue from the sky. Faith is the glue that binds them together. Faith was knowing, that what you believed in was right.
The Cardinal of War was molded by Aon Himself; he was faith itself. Unshakeable. Unquestionable. All else was ignorance. Heresy and ignorance. The beast before the righteous crusader was the embodiment of all the Church condemned. Sacrilege incarnate. Earning that title, they had defiled the sacred planet, leveled the center of the holiest city. He was a saiyan and, worse yet, a half-breed. Him and his allies were destined to die, and Invictus was dead set on seeing it so.
As soon as he stopped, and while he began speaking, Maneo quickly spawned ten Aon’s Flares, each appearing as suns of white fire as they circled, each easily the size of a vehicle. Each carrying his full strength. Lifting his hands to his sides, the armored fingers began to move, as if a pianist striking keys or a puppeteer pulling strings. Altogether the orbs moved in a weird harmony, their movements synced up. Five circled the Cardinal whilst he regained his strength.
The others surged forth at the beast, precisely guided by the watchful ‘eyes’ of Invictus, as they would move more as a strike team going for the kill than a cluster of spheres flung at a target.

It seemed that Invictus was taking things a bit more seriously now, but it didn't stop his champion's cannon from shattering the energy that had been wrapped around his hand. While to others might seem insignificant was an indication that his attack was strong enough to overcome the Cardinal's and this was a very important thing to take note of right now. A grin formed when that happened as well, it was a small victory, but it was still a victory for him as well. The hand that had come up to his chest was doing something as well, and instinct had him use a burst of compressed air to put some distance between the two, and although he hadn't quite gotten far there was enough distance where the explosion wasn't right on top of him, which would allow his body to take the damage more spread out.
As the blast knocked him back he didn't need to look at the damage that had been done by Invictus' attack, he could feel them, and he knew he hadn't been able to get too far away. His body was littered with bruises and burns, that much was clear but they didn't hurt as bad as the attacks before and would allow him to continue his own attack. He would be using his aerokinetic abilities for two different tasks, the first was to create more distance between him and Invictus for the other aspect he was working on. The second aspect was creating a powerful micro burst that would be about a mile in diameter and with him landing about one hundred yards away from the Cardinal, the stopping point for the attack would be just in front of him as he prepared the final touches on the attack.
"Well, if you would like to clarify I could always bring Sebastian here, I doubt a man that's pretty much at death's door right now would lie as his last act. Granted, you're essentially calling him a liar anyways, but hey I guess that's how the universal church rolls huh? Everyone is trash and corrupt except for Aon, even though he is acting like a snot-nosed, whiny, spoiled brat, right?"
As Invictus began to summon orbs, Conri finished his own preparations and with a motion of his arms the downburst rocketed towards the ground with ferocity the target was Invictus and those orbs, if he could smash them with enough force to knock them into the ground it was possible to make them detonate harmlessly, or best case scenario would be to have them blow up in the Cardinal's face. That would be the best thing as it would damage the cardinal even more, even though the downburst was aimed mainly at him anyways but more damage to him was never a bad thing. His own attacks wouldn't stop there, however, as he fired off four lightning balls to home in on the Cardinal while they traveled their erratic paths. When those were launched he followed that up with three bolts of lightning to rain down on the Cardinal, hoping to pile on even more damage.
With all of that thrown at the cardinal, he would have to wait and see what happened once the dust settled, and he was hoping with everything that he had that the Cardinal had been damage even more so than before now. Flexing his hands the sudden throwing of attacks stung at his hands a bit probably a sign that he had thrown too much at once and his body was trying to deal with it all now. Still, if he was going to take out Invictus, he needed to throw everything in his arsenal at the Cardinal and he still had a few more things to throw. [Champion's Cannon 1/3]

The boy’s mastery of the wind was quite annoying as he used it with just about every movement; Invictus had to wonder how much of a drain its constant use was putting on him. Controlling anything with your mind costs ki; more frequent the use, and the larger the effect, the greater the cost. A thought which continued to cross his mind as the half-saiyan pulled off one stunt after another. First he pulled himself from the direct line of fire, escaping only with burns and bruises, as both competitors made some distance.
Maneo would sense energy stirring within the half breed as he blathered on, intent only on defaming the Church. If only the Cardinal had eyes to roll. The litany of sacrilegious profanity which spewed forth from him at every turn merely confirmed the necessity of his death. While he spit his hate, energy amassed as he prepared for something, this much War was sure. As he dashed away a great distance the orbs would adjust direction to follow him. As he landed his power reached a peak as he theatrically brought his arms down, bringing with it a downward burst of air.
The Aon’s Flares which followed him would be near him as he executed his move, following him as he soared through the air and as he came to the ground. Three of these were too close to the ground and when bombarded by the sudden force they were sent into the ground, coupling together to create a rather huge explosion. While not close enough to sustain life-threatening damage, the blast would still catch him as he released his seven lightning bolts, further exacerbating himself. Two of these orbs, however, would escape the limits of the downburst just in time, skirting outwards before circling back in for a reeling target.
No doubt similar to how Conri must feel now, Invictus was temporarily drained from the creation of his orbs. While he could do nothing for the puppets at the ends of his strings, the five encircling him were another story. His omnisense gave him immediate awareness of the coming force moments before it hit. As it washed over him it would send him feet first into the ground, like a nail struck by a hammer. He would be buried up to his knees, however his arms would be at his sides, palms upon and facing up, fingers gnarled with focus. The five orbs each hovered inches above the ground; he allowed himself to take the gust in order to channel his energy into forcing them upwards against the wind.
“The only thing that needs clarification is your fate. Whether today, tomorrow, or a year from now you and all of your people will perish; cleansed by the Aon’s light. On that day I will look down upon the countless lifeless heretics and I will think of you Conri Lane. Think of how you failed them.”
With two knee jerks he pulled his legs from where they had been hammered into the ground and levitated once more into the air as his wings floated around him, crackling with energy. The first salvo of four lightning orbs pierced the cloud of debris, created by the forced explosions of the three orbs directly between the two warriors. Immediately the armored ring finger on his right hand flicked ever so quickly and one of the five encircling orbs shot forward, connecting with the incoming attacks at a safe distance from the general. Though he could still feel the warmth of the blast as the ends of it washed over him.
The next three pierced both debris clouds, again a finger jerked and another ball went flying, however the erratic movement of the orbs allowed them to narrowly miss the large white sun out of chaotic derived chance. As they sped at the Cardinal his wings went to intercept them, though it was difficult given their movement. A wing slapped one into the ground, causing a small detonation while one grazed the left side of his helmet, leaving a small streak. The third made a direct hit near his right should; close to where the boy’s grazing blow had dented it earlier. A small explosion lit up his side though simply flexing his aura cleared the air. A small crack appear along the edge of the indent.
Gathering his energy he would lift higher into the air, the four remaining balls which had remained near him lifting as well, moving around him like electrons about a nucleus. Meanwhile, using his omnisense as a trusted guide, he continued to move the last two Aon’s Flares which had pursued Conri to move in for a direct hit. Using these fleeting moments he allowed his energy to return to him; he only wished he was able to tap into his full power. The accursed prince had to choose today of all days to make his first truly selfless act. Go figure.

If it meant that he was able to take down Invictus once and for all then Conri was more than willing to push his body beyond the normal limits that it could withstand. Being in this new form helped a lot with that as well, especially after he recovered he could feel that his body was tougher than it had been before now. There was far too much riding on this battle for him to take it easy or let himself fall here, and he had an idea of how to get at Invictus even more, and it would require the most careful of timing to pull off. However, he could see the path even as his earlier plans didn't go as anticipated. When the downburst slammed three of the attacks into the ground causing them to explode, he launched himself backwards to both reduce the damage done to him, crossing his arms to help protect himself even more, and keep control over his body as the force overtook him. With the preparations he took, however, he was able to flip himself and halt his movement before he moved too far back, taking note of Invictus' own actions before making more of his own adjustments, as he ripped two chunks of ground from the planet and tossed them at the two orbs meant to attack him to detonate them, while the Cardinal was trying to deal with the attacks that Conri had thrown at him.
The words the Invictus spewed were nothing more than his own hatred-filled ignorance, but the last part had been a bad word for the Cardinal to speak to him. He wanted to see what the fate of Conri would be? Then the Half-Saiyan would carve his own path that would lead to the defeat of Invictus once and for all, but now he would start picking at the Cardinal's words even more. "Oh, so you plan to attack humans after all, huh? I mean, you did say you were going after all my people, and I don't have one set of people being Half-Human. As for my fate, well, I guess that might be hard since I'll be carving my own path to victory and not relying on some non-existent force like fate. So when you lose, you will only have yourself to blame because you let your prejudice blind you and make you underestimate your opponents."
Rushing forward as the Cardinal tried to right himself and take off in an attempt to regain his strength, the fact that he was acting defensively and keeping his distance was a give away now to his own flaws. He shifted Fragarach into its warhammer form once more, before his arms became enveloped in the crimson energy once more that signified his Sankanken ability, and that he was truly going to push his body well beyond the normal limits that it was capable of for the sake of ending the threat of Invictus regardless of what it would cost him. As he was within range he jumped for the Cardinal and sent the warhammer ahead with his telekinesis, dragging more and more Ki from deep within his body and pushing himself further and further towards his own destruction with each technique that he would use. However, if it meant that the others would be safe and those on Earth as well as New Vegeta would have less of a threat to deal with, then it would be worth it.
Aiming the warhammer to slam down on the top of his helmet, he threw his left fist for the weakened armoring on his chest and his right arm for the weakened armoring on his shoulder if he could pierce either, then he had an idea of how to end this battle faster. He could feel the strain of pushing himself starting to effect his body, but if he could keep going just a bit more then he could potentially take the victory for this battle one way or another. If his fist could reach their target then he had the chance to turn this fight around but he needed to reach his target. (Champion's Cannon 2/3)
