"Boom!"
"Boom!"
"BOOM!"
The sound of powerful fists hitting against a punching bag echoed through a large, empty chamber. Inside stood a single, reptilian like being with pale white skin and a large domed head. His tail whipped out behind it as he let it touch the concrete floor beneath his clawed feet. He had been hitting a bag that was four feet in height for the past five minutes but all he could do was get it to swing ever so slightly. His fists opened up and his arms stretched out to catch the large training device as it swung back his way.
He let out a loud, "Oomph," and grit his teeth in disgust. "How can I, Snow, the most controversial Icejin on this blasted rock, be so weak?"
He turned his head and the light blue plating on top of it shined under the overhead lights of the gym he was inside. At the moment, he was training to buff up and look presentable for the baby sitters that would be coming in a few minutes to speak with him. Yet even with all the elliptical machines, punching bags, and training devices of the gym he had full membership to on Beta Minor he could not get any stronger seeming than he already was. Not with the time he had at least.
Once the women he had invited to watch his son heard his name they would likely not care to stick around and spend the night with his little boy. Snow was near criminal in the minds of the people on Icejin he and his family had threatened to kill or had killed Icejins in the past. That was a bad thing to do in terms of the laws on Beta Minor, his home. Not to mention the blood on his hands had been his own wife, a fine police officer and a mother full of potential and a fine violent streak.
He had turned his head away from the punching bags because he had wanted to check that was actually coming to visit him again via some profiles and applications he had gotten from the sitters. He walked over to a stack of brown envelopes resting on a table and pulled out two of them. Opening them with a sharp nail, he read the names at the top of two files he wanted.
"Sleet and Rain, huh?" he spoke to himself as he slapped their files onto the table surface. He looked at their facial images and what they had done prior to baby sitting and read off bits and pieces of their work experience.
"Sleet, Female, Likes body building, small dogs, and children. Former assassin and pickpocket from the Gamma Slums." The male Icer read off to himself. He began to laugh as he dropped this file in a trashcan next to the table. This Sleet really reminded him of his former wife Hailey, a woman with a strong sense of independence, but a love of children.
Snow had already learned from experience such a person, like her, would not make a good impression for his little one-year-old boy. If she brought it upon herself to care for his child Blizzard’s already detrimental tantrum would become worse than it was. The small ear holes on the side of Snow’s head perked up as they captured the sounds of banging across the way.
It sounded like barrels were slamming against the wall next door. “Oh no…” Snow thought as he rushed out of the gym and across the way. He stopped at the front door as he put his finger on a finger print scanner and sighed. A five pound barrel flew up into the air and hit the top of his home’s door frame as his computer finished scanning his finger. He was glad he had installed reinforced doors.
When he was able to open the door he stepped inside and found a white humanoid, reptilian like child sitting at the front door with five and ten pound barrels sprawled out around him. He scowled at the boy and cried, “Blizzard! Stop throwing your building blocks around and go play with your stuffed animals!”
Snow had not meant to yell, but he was in the middle of waiting for two important guests who had not shown up at the gym like they were supposed to. Suddenly, Blizzard’s blue eyes filled with tears and he let out a loud wail. The barrels he had been playing with began to levitate but before Snow could even step in to comfort his own child two female Icejins that were his age stepped into the room and quickly ducked under the barrels.
One wore a black leather jacket and had black mascara under her eyes. She had black lipstick and other than her chest and the shiny black plates black plates covering her skin she looked exactly like Snow, for the most part, even height wise, for Snow was only five feet six inches and she measured out to the same height in his blue eyes. She glared at him for a moment before saying, “What kind of man, especially an Icejin like you yells at his own son?”
Blaze ignored this woman for a moment while he looked at the other Icejin. She wore a big yellow sunhat and had purple plates all over light snow-white body. She, compared to the other Icejin before him, was much smaller in stature than him, probably no more than four feet eleven inches. She had the shiniest, yet oddest gray plates he had ever seen on her shoulders and head.
“Just who are you people?” he demanded as his eyes glowed with a white aura.
“I’m Sleet,” the woman with the mascara answered as she stood up. The other lady with the sunhat picked up Blizzard in her arms and all his building blocks dropped to the floor with a loud thud.
“I’m Rain…” the other woman answered him quickly as she coddled a now giggling Blizzard. “We used your house key to get in.”
“You mean I hacked the house security system to get in since we did not know where we would meet. But let’s go sit down and all talk this out like adults.” Sleet interjected as pointed at her own self and puffed out her chest with pride.
Snow’s jaw dropped and he slapped himself across the front of the face. He had barely had time to look at Sleet’s resume and had not even properly touched upon Rain’s profile. Not only that but he had left them in the gym where they were supposed to meet, and now he was talking to both them in his house where he should have been arresting the both of them, but since they were to be his potential baby sitters he felt it would be best to follow things through. He nodded and led them into his living room where he intended to have a long, long discussion with them about their actions and his son. Thanks to them, he would be able to go out and complete his mission tonight, but their break in and entry was wrong, especially since all three present, excluding Blizzard were adults.
“How would Arctic, the great Icejin leader deal with people who entered his home?” Snow asked himself. He had no clue so he shook his head and sat down in a big gray armchair in his living room. Rain set Blizzard down next to the end of a blue couch and then she and Sleet sat across from him. The male Icer could not help but notice Rain had put him down right across from him in arms’ length of Sleet. He hardly had any information on these two, so he decided he would play it by ear. There was no helping this a proper baby sitter came way before his police work.
