Willie stepped lightly through the emptying streets of a simulated Alpha Prime. Shadows were everywhere, each a portal from which the shadow demon could appear and attack when he was most vulnerable. While the well-dressed man had the upper hand in the beginning, things had evened out, up until his disappearance. It was an eerie feeling, knowing that the monster could be lurking anywhere, and William would not see him until he wanted to be seen.
Then he heard a noise, it sounded as if it was being announced through the streets from an omniscient voice, “Gravity increasing to 20 times normal level.” Then he felt it, while an additional 5 times gravity was not a big deal, it sure felt like it was once placed atop the existing 15. With the heavy weights it was all the more noticeable. The sudden shift put the boy off balance for a moment as he adjusted, and in that moment he stepped too close to a shadow casted by rubble.
A pale hand thrust out of the blackness, grabbing Willie by the ankle and took him off his feet. “In the shadows you must fall… Where painful deaths awaits all…” came a haunting rhyme as William dug his hands into the concrete, to no avail as the hand pulled him deeper and deeper into the shadow portal. Grabbing hold of the edge he held on with all his strength as he tried to pull himself free. His arms trembled with effort but it seemed to be for naught.
Looking down he saw a terrifying sight; a world of darkness, littered with dead trees. Then his fingers lost purchase and he fell. He hit the ground hard, his face landing in one of many puddles which littered the area, despite the fact that it looked as if it had seen rainfall in years. As his head went into the seemingly inch or see deep water, his eyes saw the very street which he had been pulled away from. Pushing deeper into the puddle he looked down and saw that his head was coming out of a shadow.
“And where do you think you’re going Mr. Watson?” the pale fingers once more grabbed him by the ankle, pulling him from the realm of the living. With little effort the shadow demon took him from the water and threw him into one of the dead trees. As he hit the bark, Willie felt reverberations of pain echoing through his body. The tree was completely unharmed, as if it was made of the strongest steel in existence. Pushing himself off the dry and cracked earth, William found himself look down at the sharp dressed man.
“Notice anything different?” the demon questioned coyly. He was a horrifying sight, his pale slender frame clad in fine attire, with sunglasses covering the orbs of smoke that he called eyes, but then with his shadow demon form superimposed over him, transparent. As if he existed in both forms simultaneously, or perhaps his human form was an anchor to the blue behemoth within. “Surprising, to be honest I hadn’t thought you could get any uglier. My mistake,” Watson retorted with a half grin.
Without word the demon covered the ground between them near instantaneously via what looked like several consecutive short distance teleports. It was like he took one step and would suddenly be ten steps forward. Either way it ended with its fist slamming William back into the seemingly indestructible tree. “Foolish boy, do you not understand that you are in my world now. You cannot hope to win.” A devilish smile played upon his face.
Opening his palms, Willie summoned Hell’s Gates before taking the densely concentrated crimson ki rings and brought together the blunt edges on either side of the well-dressed man’s head. The blow staggered him while also destroying his sunglasses, once more revealing his haunting eyes. Still jacked up against the tree, William then shot his legs forward in a sort of drop kick, using the tree at his back to give the maneuver a little extra power.
The demon shot backwards across the dimly lit landscape, catching himself before he crashed into a tree. “Did anyone ever tell you that you talk too much? Oh, and that you have some seriously creepy eyes?” With a howl he leapt forward much as did before, disappearing and then reappearing a split second later, again and again throughout the charge. Quickly William threw one, and then the other, chakram at the demon before kicking off the tree.
The first disc missed him in the midst of a teleport, the second he deflected with his arm, but the head butt to the sternum hit him hard. Dropping to a knee as the monster stumbled backward, Willie unleashed one Vanishing Beam after another, each one striking a different location on his body. Regaining composure he smacked the third beam away, only to be struck in the side of the head by the expertly guided ring. Stumbling to one side, the other ring struck him on the opposite side of his face.
From his knelt position Watson had been charging power since the last, deflected, blast, and after the second ring struck him he fired a full powered crimson beam into the demon’s chest. Dropping to a knee himself, the well-dressed man’s body began to weaken from its physical state, struggling break into a gaseous state as it looked like steam rose from him. Willie did not wait to see if he would recover, as he had a feeling he would soon as this was his domain, instead jumping to his feet before running and diving into a nearby puddle.
As he dove in, he emerged back on the streets of Alpha Prime, flying up out of a shadow. Rolling to the side he took a moment to catch his breath. “Nice move, Mr. Watson, but not good enough,” came the haunting whisper as the pale man rose from the same shadow, once more appearing like a regular human. Taking into account that this was simulation, and that he did not need to hide his abilities any longer, Willie looked at his hand and focused on transforming it. As the demon leaned over to grab the knelt boy, he would pivot around and cut off his hand with a massive blade which now made up his right arm.
“What the-!?” with genuine surprise he stepped back, as Willie, now becoming comfortable with controlling the weaponization of his body, turned his other arm into an odd whip with razor like edges. Before the monster could recover William cracked the whip, slicing off his left leg at the knee. Without stability he fell backwards too his ass, helpless. As he looked up with the smoky eyes, Watson thought he saw fear. “You’re not the only demon.” the boy said with regret, before driving his blade arm straight through the monster’s face. Instantly his body turned to smoke, which then slowly dissipated as it rose into the air.
“Simulation over…”
