Within the eastern seas of Earth, there is an island covered full of thick green forest. However if someone could get a close enough bird’s eye view of the place, they would notice a building and a clearing within the centre of the mass of trees. This was the dojo Shiro Tora, a master of the white tiger style of fighting and philosophy. It was here that he was training his next pupil, as this master himself has grown old with age and intended the next generation to inherit his teachings.
The trees around the dojo suddenly rustled viciously as it was knocked around by rapid sonic booms within the clearing, all caused by two fighters clashing repeatedly just above the trees. A loud clap of two palms could be heard before another boom sounded another blast of wind, then two shadowy figures could be seen bouncing at each other repeatedly like they were mirror reflections of each other.
There was silence for a couple of seconds as the two shadows dropped back towards the ground, now revealing two visible fighters. On the left was an elderly man with a growing white moustache and beard wearing white styled traditional kung fu suit, also emitting a white aura. On the right was a man with long black hair who looked like he was at his physical prime from his physique, donning a loose white gi with a black belt and red headband around his forehead, with his whole body shrouded in a light green glow. What was worthy of notice was a ying-yang symbol on the man’s red headband, and also on the old man’s suit at the heart area.

The auras of white and green clashed once again and rapid blows were exchanged once more, now just on the ground with enough force to send dust from the clearing up and everywhere. “Guh!” With a powerful palm thrust to his chest, the younger man Toshiro was sent skidding out of the dust cloud with a cringing look on his face and one eye open. He was panting heavily, and that was not ever close in showing the aching that he felt all over his body
Not to mention, he was feeling light headed as well, he needed a breather but he knew he didn’t have much time to rest. “This isn’t good, I’ve used up too much ki during the spar and now I’m slowing down more than master is…” he thought as the dust suddenly blew outwards to reveal the old master having emerged after swatting his hand to the side.
“You can’t be reaching your limit already, my dead student. Let I remind you, if you cannot defeat me here and now, you cannot officially graduate from my school and have my permission to venture into the world outside this island like you always wanted.” Master Tora told his student, trying to encourage him to keep fighting to the end despite his dwindling state.
Toshiro did not respond, and kept himself focused on recovering despite his body straining to the point that he fell to one knee, it hurt too much to move. “Now, for the finishing blow…” the old master then sped towards his student with a clawed hand enhanced with white ki swirling around it. The student could do nothing but stare at his potential loss with a widened eye and grit teeth in anticipation. The clearing was met again without another shockwave that managed to level the area around them, the blow had hit and things were seemingly over.
“What is this…” Master Tora stammered in surprise as his ki claw like strike hit something solid but it was not bone or muscle, he had instead hit thin bars of light green ki which he soon noticed dug into the ground. At seeing the ki bars collapsing towards him, he promptly hopped back only to bump into someone’s back to his added shock.
A split second later, someone tapped him at the back of his neck, signalling that if they were intent of being serious, they could easily have knocked him out right then. “Splendid, it seems the student has finally surpassed the master.” Master Tora said with a weak smile, perhaps their powers just finally crossed with his decline due to age and Toshiro getting stronger and nearing his prime at 23 years of age under his training. It did not matter in the end though; he taught the boy the basics and everything he knew, and he applied them well against him.
“I wouldn’t say that, master. You were nowhere near your prime, especially spending the last couple of years training me while you aged, it was about the matter of time that your training paid off.” Toshiro replied modestly, it was honestly a spur of the moment thing. In desperation he had extended a ki claw into the ground as he flew into the air to evade the final blow, and then flew behind the old man quickly when he swung the claw downward to force his master to move out of the way while distracted, he was convinced he was just lucky.
“Do not forget, luck and skill go hand in hand in battle. You acted swiftly while my guard was down, and that’s what gave you your victory. You should be proud; I have nothing more to teach you. All you can do is better yourself into your own fighting style and become stronger from whatever challenges the outside world has in store for you.” The teacher replied as he turned to face his student with a pat on his shoulder. “So now that your business here is done, what will you do now? Do you still intend to avenge your parents’ death? Taking a life for another to make things right or bring them back, you will be no different than the organisation itself if you go to that path."
Toshiro bowed his head a little, despite all the training he did under his master, his heart was still split between revenge and moving on with his life. He couldn’t lie to his master, he was still undecided. “I don’t know what I’ll do, I’ll just have to see what my heart decides when I meet them one day. But really, all I want is some kind of answer as to why. Until then, I will continue my training, I still have a long way till near perfection after all.” he said honestly, and soon bowed on his knees in front of his master.
“Thank you for everything sensei, I can’t thank you enough for what you have done. From stopping me while I was in that beast form, sealing it away, taking me in as your student, I am eternally grateful.” he said sincerely, and he truly meant it. If he had not met this master, he’d be nothing more than a rampaging beast in the city that would eventually be killed.
“It has been well spent couple of years, the time I have spent training you into the fighter you are now. My goal was nothing more than to give you the power to control the beast within you, but you also have a talent for ki control that cannot be wasted. I can tell that you will do great things Toshiro, I merely helped you go on the right path, so the rest is up to you. Now go, show the world who you are.” The master gently put a hand on his student’s head, it would be sad to see him go, he had become as much as a son as he was a student. But he must let him go on his intended path, while he watched from the sidelines.
“Yeah! Keep your eyes on the media master, because one day the whole world will know my name and when that happens, I will publically thank you for it so they know too.” Toshiro couldn’t help but grin, he couldn’t wait until he got famous. As a teenager he always envied celebrities, they had the ideal life. But everything fell into place now, his quest for revenge, a better life, a chance to prove himself to the world, it was about to start.
With that being said, he gave his master a hug before walking back into the dojo to pack his things into a capsule. “Don’t worry master, I’ll come and visit you when I can so I can tell you things that the media don’t cover!” Toshiro called as he dashed outside and then leaped up into the air and waved to his teacher briefly before kicking off to fly into the distance, heading off towards the nearest city so he could restart his life again.
