“Ugh, seriously, don’t you ever give up with that? I’m not like you and I don’t follow the same ideals as you, it’s just that simple,” he hung up the phone with a loud crash. That was the third time this week that he received the same call and it was really starting to annoy the hell out of him. Now he had all this frustration building up inside him that he would have been happy to go without the entire day. Sighing his finger drummed lightly against his desk, creating a rhythm to try and help relieve the tension that was creeping through him. Grabbing his jacket as he headed out of the apartment he was living in, he needed to go for a ride, he didn’t need a destination he just needed to drive and let the wind take his tension.
Lately, he had been finding it hard to stay still something inside him was stirring even more, wanting to release all his pent up energy. It had been a few years ago that he’d discovered that riding on his motorcycle could actually relax him, and it came in handy quite a few times. As he turned the key the engine roared to life before settling into a low rumble, the familiar sounds relaxing his nerves already. Wrapping his tail around his waist he hit the kickstand up and took off down the street at speeds that would not be considered safe for normal people.
The wind rushed passed his face as even in first gear the old bike had a lot of power, but it still wasn’t enough for him. With a swift movement of his hands and feet he closed the throttle, pulled on the clutch, and shifted into a higher gear as he hit the open roads outside the city limits. He didn’t need a destination right now, he would just let the wind guide him to where he wanted to be, that was what he did and it worked. When a powerful gust came across him, the course he was driving took a ninety degree turn, following the direction it blew as if it came naturally to him.
Finding a place to stop after all the tension was gone, he flopped to the ground and watched the stars as his eyes gleamed with excitement. The entirety of space would be where he called his home, exploring the deepest reaches while dealing with any bastards that wanted to get in his way. Whatever called out to him he would follow it without a second of hesitation and put all his heart into it, that was the way he lived his life. Now he needed to decide where he would go from here, given that he’d already spent a couple of years in Central City, it was time for him to move on. Opening up a map, he decided he would leave it up to chance and taking out a small needle, he flattened the map to make it easier.
Tossing the needle into the air as the wind blew the needle moved according to the direction before landing on the next location that he would be heading. “Lessee here, my next stop is Metropolis City, well that should be fun. I guess tomorrow I’ll head out. Wonder what it’s like over there, maybe I’ll find something fun, like a strong opponent,” he smirked, the thought of all the things he might run into spurring him on even more. The thrill of the unknown was unlike any other, there were so many possibilities that could come from it that it was staggering. He couldn’t see going through life with a plan, to him having the freedom of anything happening was the best. No one could predict what would happen in the future, but they still made plans to have some form of structure, for what? He didn’t understand it himself, then again it wasn’t like he was unfamiliar with routine either, sure it could give some comfort, but it was dull.
