With her battle with Azazel coming to it's end Della knew she now needed to deal with Kaladar, due to her own suggestion Popo had not informed any of the others about what was really going on, that she was not actually working alongside Kemuri as her actions up until her return to the Lookout after fighting Popo had indicated. Her fight with Popo had given her time to clear her mind and most importantly given her a chance to speak with Jenn and for Jenn to stop her from doing something that they would all regret. Her own need to put on a show however still lead to a few complications, though with Azazel's last words Della wondered if even Popo informing her of the truth of the situation would have made any difference. "We might never know, we just have to hope that Azazel has what she wants now. Perhaps she was like us, ageless and willing to pass on if necessary." Jenn chimed in as they floated down to the forest level. Della's lips quirked in discomfort over hearing Jenn put that particular thought into words "I thought we were going to avoid talking about that." Della responded with a sigh as she began weaving through the trees heading in the direction of where he fight with Popo had occurred.
"I know we both would prefer to avoid the subject but it is one we should discuss, it almost effected how we fought." "There is not much to talk about, we had a chance to let ourselves pass on and we declined it, we had to make sure Azazel would not continue acting incoherently and Vixi still needs someone to look out for her." Della muttered with a shrug voicing the reasons they had both used to hold strong "It was just a thought anyway, nothing more." "But that is exactly the problem, in all our years we have never thought about simply giving up and passing on." "We have never had someone who could match us like Azazel, Litch was tough as nails but we knew we couldn't let him win we KNEW what he would do to the earth and the people. Azazel had the power to do it like Litch did but we had no idea what she would do afterward." Della shrugged and she could feel the equivilant of Jenn nodding and likewise she felt much of Jenn's worrying begin to fade.
"Found him" Della said with a smirk after a few moments of silent searching, the unconscious form of the rotund Genie was somewhat more difficult to find than she had expected due to how low he had brought his power before being knocked out but once she was near enough it had been a simple matter of recognizing it. With one arm Della scooped Popo up and tossed him over her shoulder the strength provided by uniting with Jenn making it easy enough even with how exhausted she was from fighting Azazel. Now with Popo in hand Della would take to the sky once again making a beeline for the Lookout, she could still feel Kaladar's power signature and right with it was the new signature, the one that belonged to the being that along with the boy she assumed to be Kaladar's student had landed the final blows on Kemuri, so long as this new arrival was no threat she very much wanted a chance to thank it for the role it played in ending the Hyena's life and within a few moments Della would be on the Lookout again bringing a small smile to her face, her home was spared from any significant harm save for a bit of damage to the tiling which could all be easily sorted out soon enough.
Now with the Lookout in sight Della could see the being that stood with Kaladar, he was a large man and from what she could tell he was just as Human as Kaladar was though he seemed quite a bit younger than the Guardian. It was truly an astounding sight to behold a Human with this much power. By the looks of things the duo had been waiting for her fight to end. "I am unsure how much of my fight with Azazel you were able to witness Kaladar, I did my best to talk to her but Azazel was unwilling to listen to me, I hope you will be different." Della called out as she floated closer to the Lookout her body shifting from that of a female Vennor back into a human-like form much like the one she had arrived in though now her apperance appeared to have it's features reshaped slightly to bear more of a resemblance to Jenn though lacking the blue skin that Jenn possessed. "Popo is alive, unconscious and certainly he will ache once he awakens but alive nonetheless. Jenn and to a lesser extent Popo himself brought me to my senses, I decided to give Kemuri a surprise by springing on him the knowledge that he could not control me but Azazel interfered with that, I believe her mind was clouded either by the new power of her transformation or something else. I did my best to inform her of the truth of the matter, she used a threat against the Lookout to build the time necessary to charge a powerful attack and in that time I did the same. When out attacks clashed I provided her an opportunity for us to end the battle peacefully I did not want either of us to fall but she made her choice. I think perhaps she wanted it to end in that manner" Della said pausing for a moment to let out a sigh "She let her power slip away at the end and just before she was overwhelmed she thanked me I do not know why as I know little about Azazel but if she is in any way like myself I imagine I can understand to an extent" another sigh from Della as she looked to Kaladar for a reaction, her focus was on the Guardian as while the other being was certainly powerful she knew nothing of who he was.

The battle for Earth was over, Kemuri’s life was ended with the help of the King and Saito Kito. Even though Saito left immediately after Kemuri fell, Kaladar understood. It was obvious that it was the first time the boy had taken a life and he didn’t know how to react. Kaladar looked over to his long time friend and nodded. The two of them had been through a lot together. With this last altercation it was clear the two of them were getting to old to fully protect the Earth from harm. Kaladar knew that his time was running short, but he still needed to find a replacement.
“Well my friend, it looks like all of this mess has been taken care of. Now we need to get everything back in order and try to move on. First I think we need to find Saito and see if he is alright. No doubt the boy doesn’t know how to process everything that happened here. So much unnecessary death, all because one man tried to take control.” Kaladar said shaking his head
Before they would have the chance to go find Saito, Kaladar felt a presence coming towards them. Judging by the aura he remembered it was the women from before, it was Jenn. The last time he saw her she was leaving the lookout to fight Azazel. Since it was only her coming back, Kaladar pieced together that Azazel was no longer alive. To his surprise Jenn came back carrying a familiar figure. Mr. Popo was tossed over her shoulder.
Jenn started off by stating that Popo was alive, unconscious, but alive none the less. This brought joy to Kaladar, knowing that one his long time friends was still with him. Even though Jenn disliked the genie, she didn’t give in, she didn’t take his life even though it was clear she had the power to do so. Folding his arms Kaladar listened to Jenn speak. She went on to explain why she thought Azazel acted the way she did. Listening Kaladar agreed with what she had to say. It was more than likely possible that Azazel couldn’t control her new found power.
Remembering back, she took the life of the man called Anri without even thinking about it. That was not the Azazel that Kaladar remembered talking to just moments before all of this mess happened. When Kaladar heard that she used the Lookout as a threat, it was clear there was something wrong with her. As Jenn continued, their altercation started to get more confusing. Azazel ended up releasing her power, letting jenn take control and end her life, and thanked her for it before she left.
“Perhaps Azazel had a plan all along and needed you to accomplish it. If that is the case then she is at rest now. Her heart was in the right place, her mind was just clouded with vengeance. I hope she finds peace wherever she ends up. I thank you for trying to talk her out of it and even giving her the opportunity to end it. You did everything that you could without giving your own life instead.” Kaladar said looking at Della. “Anyways the threat of Kemuri has been dealt with and I believe it is time to try to move on. So Burradori what do you suggest we do now?” Kaladar said looking at the king.

The entire situation was just a mess. People were dying left and right including his former top advisor who had literally been aiding the king since taking the throne from Vector all those years ago. The thought made his joints ache a bit. It wasn’t due to any actual stress that had been put on his body now but more so the thought of everything that he had been through in his life. He was tired. The thought of retirement was sounding much more appealing after this but the problem was that he had no replacement. Sure he could turn it over to one of the generals in the army but then it would accomplish little than set up another Vector or Kemuri scenario. There were no options on the table for the King to decide.
“What I want to do is take a list of everything that Kemuri has done in order to give me an order to know what to fix…” The King grumbled to himself. This genie as Kaladar had explained was something that Burradori questioned. Kaladar had said she was bound by the ring that she once called home but all of a sudden she wasn’t when Kemuri ordered her to attack. It was suspicious either she was lying then or something changed which needed to be taken into account.
The Fuhrer walked to the edge of the Lookout and stared down at the world below. It was quite a view that his friend had been enjoying for so many years. The people below going on about their lives unsuspecting of the powers that had collected and then dispersed, it was comforting strangely enough. He hoped that a war like that of the one with Vector never be seen on Earth soil again. To watch the people that he had fought for so much to be hurt and torn apart was more than enough to bear. It was in that moment that he realized what needed to be done.
“Kaladar let me ask you a personal question, you getting tired?” Burradori asked before turning to the genie. “Would you defend this planet when and if it needed you? No matter where you were, you would come to its aid?” Burradori asked. There was no middle ground on this answer he needed a yes or no. It could determine the planet’s ability to defend itself from outside threats.

Della felt as if a mighty weight was lifted from her shoulders as Kaladar spoke, he was not angry, did not seem to hold what she had done against her, and most of all seemed to understand she had worried on the fly up to the Lookout about how Kaladar would react to the situation, she knew that logically as the Guardian Kaladar would have to be at least somewhere near as understanding as the others had been, but there was still the very real chance that he could have seen her in the wrong, decided that she was too dangerous and sought to end a potential threat to the planet.
That would not have gone well, while it seemed that Kaladar lacked the power to properly handle her full strength there were a few things that put Kaladar at the advantage here, firstly was Della's own disinterest in fighting any mroe for the day, least of all the successor to her family's legacy. Secondly she was exhausted, the power needed to match Azazel had been enormoius enough that it left Della feeling for the first time since attaining her freedom and power feeling utterly drained and Thirdly, there was the other man 'Burradori' as Kaladar had referred to him.
He was relaxed now but she had FELT his power it more than matched her own and Azazel's and as such had eclipsed Kemuri's just as she and Azazel would have, he was clearly a warrior and on top of having the power to fight her he was fresh having had to expend very little power to kill Kemuri. Thankfully a fight was not necessary as instead she recieved a question from Buraddori. He asked her if she would defend the Earth if it needed her, no matter where she was. Della's features softened as she thought the question over.
"Not very long ago I might have said no, I was... so very angry with the state of the world. You do not know me and I do not expect you to understand why I would have held that stance, but today I was shown that perhaps my Earth is not so far away from the dream Seikatsu had for it, there are still people such as that young man willing to put everything on the line for the Earth, people like Popo willing to give everything just to buy just a few extra moments for a chance. The Earth is my home still, perhaps a bit different than I remember it, but my home all the same. And any who would pose a threat to my home can be certain that they will have to pass through me before I see it's end." Della said with a nod directed at Buraddori.
With the question answered Della let out a sigh with the heaviness of the situation finally alleviated it gave her a chance to think and in her first moment with a clear mind Della realized something very odd, she was standing before Kaladar and Burradori with Kemuri's corpse just a few feet away. Kemuri was dead, that much was obvious and yet despite this she remained free without a word Della took a step forward immediately vanishing from sight as she reappeared next to the Hyena's corpse, shoving the dead form of Kemuri over Della looked over his hands finding her ring quite easily, without much effort Della pulled the ring off of Kemuri's finger and inspected it, she could feel the mystical link between herself and the ring and yet despite this she was not drawn back into it upon the death of Kemuri.
Neither that nor had the ring defaulted control back to Kaladar, it was not in the nature of the magic, she had encountered situations such as this before and it still required the previous to take up the ring again. The most important and odd part of the situation was that she could even hold the ring, any other time she had tried simply resulted in her body being drawn into it as sort of fail safe of the magic from what she had understood. The only time she should have been able to do so was...upon becoming free.

Kaladar watched as the king walked to the edge of the Lookout and look down at Earth. The two of them have been defending this planet for many years. Kaladar knew it was clear to both of them that they were getting to old to defend Earth to the best of their abilities. Someone new needed to step up and take control, for the sake of the planet it needed to be done. When the King turned back around and asked Kaladar if he was getting tired. Kaladar couldn’t help but smile. Before Kaladar answered the kings question, he was more interested to hear what Jenn had to say.
Kaladar listened careful to each and every word that Jenn said in response to the kings question. As it was seen to Kaladar she was one of the few people left on the planet that could still defend it. Saito Kito had run off immediately after the battle and Kaladar knew he was going to have to find him eventually. Ultimately Kaladar was glad to hear that Jenn would defend Earth from any threat that would come. It was comforting to hear that there were still people willing to defend the planet.
Then Kaladar watched as Jenn quickly moved over to Kemuri’s corpse. HE knew what she was looking for and when she reached down to him, he knew she found it. Kaladar didn’t understand everything that the ring could do, but it seemed that it no longer had control over Jenn. That she was free from whatever spell it had on her before all of this happened. Kaladar turned his attention back to the king.
“To answer your question from before my friend. Yes, I am indeed getting tired, but I am not doing being the Guardian of Earth quite yet. I cannot be done until I have found someone else to replace me. We are getting older and it is clear that it is becoming harder to keep the planet safe.” Kaladar said looking over at Popo, who was still unconscious.
“As long as I am still on this planet I will defend it with my life. There will be a day when someone else becomes Guardian. So maybe when that day finally happens I can finally rest, and I think that day is almost upon us. Now it is just a matter of finding the right person, someone who will give their life for this planet.” Kaladar said turning back to the King.

The King laughed at his friend. The two had been through so much together that it seemed that no matter what it the two would forever be bonded. They fought against tyranny and helped reshape into the glorious place that it had become but he knew as well as Burradori that time was up. Or at least it would be. Listening to the woman Burradori was filled with joy because to have someone who seemed to rival him in power that is ready to stand in Earth’s defenses. It would need it if he wanted his plan to go off without a hitch. Pausing for a moment as the woman seemed to loot Kemuri’s body, normally something like this would be unacceptable but considering how the day was going he really didn’t care.
“Old friend you will find a replacement but they will not be able to fill your shoes. No one will you have guarded over Earth for the last few decades with nothing but honor and prestige.” Burradori praised with a smile on his face. Turning to the woman the King decided to choose his words carefully. “I ask if you will defend Earth if it ever needs it because it soon will. This entire incident has left me painfully aware that my mind is not as sharp as it once was. As such I will not be able to defend Earth to the fullest against threats that are bound to arrive. Earth will need its guardians as I hand off power…to the people. I wish to allow the people of Earth to choose their next leader. I realize that they may not be the most powerful person in the world. That is where you come in. I will need you to stand by this leader in order to defend this beautiful planet.”
Burradori took several steps forward before placing his hand on Kaladar’s shoulder. “Will you help this new leader in Earth’s time of need?”
(I apologize for the delay. The holidays threw me for a loop.)

Della smiled as she listened to both Burradori and Kaladar speak, it was clear that both men cared quite deeply for the Earth and it's people, enough that they were even willing to stand down from such important positions because they felt that it was time for a new generation to take the reins. Buraddori's words were perhaps the most interesting, he intended to not just step down as King but on top of that allow the people of Earth to be the ones to choose who would become the next ruler of Earth. For the first time in a very long time the Earth would have a chance to make a direct choice in who would rule them without the need for the people to revolt against the current king.
"If ever the Earth needs me I will do everything I can to make sure it does not fall into the hands of men like Kemuri. Regardless of who leads the Earth if it needs me I will come to it's aid." Della said with a nod, not long ago she had been ready to write off the Earth entirely but today had shown here that there most certainly were still people worth looking after here on Earth. "But..." Della said with a sigh knowing it was likely that what she had to say next would perhaps put a hitch into what Buraddori wanted. "I have been tied to the Earth for... a very long time. Longer than even I can recall with any clarity. I may very well be the oldest being on this planet depending on how old Popo is and I have spent my entire life here."
"And today I am free." Della said turning the ring over in her hand a few times before slipping it onto her finger, it fit as perfectly as if she had created it herself Seikatsu's work was even to this day impeccable. "And I want to see the stars, I can not have some of the other dreams I have had in my life, the people they involved have been gone for a very long time. But seeing what lays beyond the Earth is one that I now have a chance to experiance and I intend to do so soon. I will still come if the Earth needs me and do so as quickly as I can that I guarantee, it may simply take time to get back."

He may have been ready to defend it in mind but he was beginning to doubt if he was going to be able to defend planet Earth with his body. Kaladar knew his time as Guardian was coming to a close; it was only made more evident by the way that Kemuri had pushed the Guardian. Never in his life had he thought that he was going to come under the amount of pressure he had from Kemuri. This generation was proving to be filled with more potential than the last five combined and it was for that he smiled at what was going on.
“To travel the stars…frankly I never thought you interested in such a journey Mahajenn.”[/red] Kaladar speaks as his eyes drift upwards towards the stars. “What would you do on your travels? Take in the various wonders of the universe, spread good will, spread magic or something more sinister?” Kaladar asked. The last words were latent with poison. Too much death had occurred today not to at least take a cautious stance. She had said that she had taken the life of Brandon which regardless of the circumstances was something that would in the future need to be addressed.
Looking to his old friend he could see the pride in Burradori’s eyes. The way he moved reminded him of the young general that he aided when he fought against Vector all those years ago. Over time that had slowly faded into what was still pride but more of a faint glow of the fire that once burned inside of him. He had always talked about giving the power of choosing their own leader to the people though every time Burradori had closed in on the idea something would come up and cause him to put it on the back burner. This time it seemed different, it seemed like it was actually going to happen.

It was fine with the King that she explore this apparent new found freedom. It was going to be exhilarating to finally seek retirement and take the load off of his shoulders.
“That is fine. Just knowing that there is a guardian such as yourself ready to spring to Earth’s defense helps this old man’s heart rest a little easier. Though, I am partially disappointed that you will be leaving our beautiful planet.” His eyes drifting towards the sky he could see a silhouette of the Moon just hovering above the horizon and a few stars behind it. “This world is going to entering a new portion of history, one that it has no experience in. It will need all the protection it can manage. Knowing you are there brings confidence that Earth will be safe once I choose to step away.”

Della smiled at Burradori, the more he spoek the more clear it was that he was a man who loved the Earth quite a lot and it brought her no small amount of joy to see more people with that much love for the planet that gave Della her family. It was as well somewhat amusing to listen to Buraddori call himself an old man, much of the reason the Guardian and King seemed intent on passing on there titles was for the same reason, the rigors of age. With the state of the Earth and the universe neither quite had the ability to do as the Guardians of the past had done, serving the planet in there role until there last day. The Earth NEEDED new blood at the helm the threats to it were on an entirely different scale.
"I think it is for that exact reason that it is best that I too depart, while the Earth certainly needs powerful people to keep it safe from people such as Kemuri it also needs to be given a chance to grow. I may not have been around for quite some time, but I have been with the Earth for as long as I can remember. I am something out of the Earths history and I think too much direct influence from myself on the Earth would be more harmful than good." Della said with a wistful sigh, perhaps it was simply more attempts to further rationalize her interest in leaving the planet but at its heart her intention was much rooted in the same concept as Seikatsu's choice to live a mortal life.
"My love, Seikatsu, the first Guardian. He felt it was important for the Earth to be protected and overseen by a new Guardian, to ensure that the way the Earth was guided was always in the best interests of the planet, to ensure that it would move forward rather than stagnate or fall behind. I think now is the best time for me to depart, my views on the way things should be are those of someone from Earths past, the Earth needs people who are looking to shape it's future rather than cling to the past. If I stay I would do just that"
With that Della turned to look at Kaladar "As for what I will do out there" Della said making a vague gesture at the stars "I do not have any direct plans for my travels, for now I simply wish to see beyond the Earth. What I will do out there is something not even I know yet." Della said her look hardening on Kaladar for a brief moment at the implication in his words and his tone.
