After the events on Mement Mor he hadn't wanted to stick around with Zex and the others, instead choosing to take care of a few things before he left this place. Heading to the nearest vendor he could find, there was one thing that he wanted to get rid of the most before he could fully leave everything behind. Using his psychokinetic powers he brought along the sword that he had taken from Sebastian and placed it on the counter for the man to look it over. It was a finely crafted sword and it would serve someone greatly, but that person wasn't him because after that battle he needed to build himself from the ground up. That meant not using swords anymore either, which he would have to go to New Vegeta once more to talk with Master Masamune and apologize to the man. He had received such an amazing sword, but he would no longer be using them as his primary fighting style.
“It's a good sword, you can tell there was a lot of work put into it, so the price should be a fair one. It is still a useable weapon after all. Just not for those without arms,” he chuckled and waved his nubs at the man. He could tell by the look on his face that he was not that accustomed to dealing with people that were missing limbs like he was, and Conri couldn't blame him. He was still getting used to not having them, but he preferred to have a lighthearted outlook on the matter rather than be depressed about it. Plus in this case he figured he might be able to use it to get a little bit extra from the guy, it never hurt to try right?
“I dunno, never seen this kinda word before here, why should I buy it off you?” the man questioned continuing to examine the blade. Haggling, one of the universes most ancient traditions of trying to get the best price, for either side. A smirk formed on his lips acknowledging that the guy at least had a good head on his shoulders to treat him the same as ordinary folk. Well, then it was only fair that he try to get the absolute best deal for himself but at the same time didn't want to take too much money from the guy either. Lifting a pen and paper with his mind he went over the facts of the sword in his mind, trying to take everything into account while thinking of a fair price. It wasn't easy though, with everything he knew after having Marisa scan it over, the tech involved with that was pretty high gear. Still, it was only a sword at the same time, and when you didn't really care too much about having lots of money it made it difficult to decide.
So he went with another option and took into mind the stuff that would be required to create it in the first place and did a bit of weird math to get a price written down. Then handing it over to the man for him to look over the number, before he glanced at Conri thinking over the price a bit. They were both doing similar calculations in their heads, so it was more of a way to come to an agreement and at least this way numbers would be involved. Otherwise they would try to argue the quality or something when that wasn't an issue for debate and both were well aware of that. If all went well then they could have something worked out in maybe an hour of back and forth, of course he was expecting much less time to be needed for this particular event.
The man wrote down a number himself before placing the paper down on the counter and sliding it towards Conri. He looked over the figure carefully and smirked slightly at the setup that it allowed for, if he opted for the middle ground of the figures it would be a price that both could work with and neither would have too much of a loss of funds. This guy was good and seemed to have a sense of fair business to him, maybe he would make this shop a regular for his purchase needs in the future. Anything that he specifically needed was covered by his friend back on Earth, this guy could cover the stuff that wasn't covered by him. It would give him more options on finding the items that he was looking for in the long run, plus it would be good to have an established trader for anything he might need. Depending on where his path took him from this point forward, it was possible that he would need to have someone willing to ship things to him.
With that in mind he wrote down the number that he was thinking about and showed it once more to the shop keep who smiled as well. They were on the same page in terms of the price they figured the sword could be worth, which was good since that made this transaction end all the sooner. Heading into the back of the shop, the man was getting the money, so that they could conclude the deal. Meanwhile, Conri went about thinking of everything that had happened up until this point and how everything was different for him this time. It was just like a weight being lifted off his shoulder, literally and figuratively speaking! However, that meant that he needed to change himself to be better in every possible way than his past self, so that he could embody that feeling. He was a new man and this was a new day for him to start changing things, he supposed that he could just go ahead and sell the other things that he was holding onto all this time.
He'd gathered a lot of stuff over the years, so it was time to get rid of it all and get as much money as he could from everything. That seemed the best approach, plus the funds would be more useful in the long run, he was certain that he would need to upgrade some of his stuff down the line. While the man was busy gathering the money in the back, Conri returned to the ship at full speed and gathered up all of the useless junk that was littering his room. When the man returned he looked at all the stuff that the Half-Saiyan had brought and was surprised at how much he was able to carry without any arms. Though the man wasn't sure if he was happy or distraught at the amount of stuff brought to him.
“Here's the payment for the sword, now what is all this stuff?” he questioned looking at the various objects, one being a sniper rifle that hadn't been used in a while, and was high tech even by this day's standards even if it was older. It would probably be worth a pretty penny, but he had to make sure he didn't pay a fortune for it either, otherwise he would likely just break even and that was not good business sense. Still, the kid had not done him wrong on the price of the sword, so he should see what he was looking for with the rest of this stuff before he decided for or against buying any of it. No sense of wasting the opportunity to get his hands on some unique merchandise with the gear and items he had laying about his counter. Especially those crystals in the middle, they were rare things that very few people could get their hands on, how he had done so was a curiosity in itself.
“This is a bunch of stuff I gathered while I worked for a mercenary group, let's just say I used to be a fond collector of these little souvenirs. Now, I am starting over, and don't need them anymore, they are reminders of a time that I have gotten over,” he explained and took the pen and paper once more, writing down a list of the pricing for each item with a total price listed at the bottom. Since he had so many things here he figured he could give the guy something of a bulk discount, and not try to take all of the money that he had. It was just time to let him keep the memories he had in his head, and let these items disappear into the depths of history, it was probably the best for his sanity. When he was finished with calculating everything in his head he handed the paper to the store owner who looked at the price and then back at him.
“You sure you want to sell all this stuff for just this amount? I'm an honest business man, so I don't feel right robbing people if they are unaware. Some of your items are worth well more than this price,” he explained his eyebrow being quirked the entire time. The blue-haired kid seemed to be a good guy himself, so he wouldn't just accept what was handed to him anyways, even if it was what he wanted for all of this. If he was going to buy it, then it would be for a better price, he didn't cheat his customers no matter if it cost him the business either. With that in mind he took the paper and scribbled out number of his own that would be fair for the kid and still allow him to profit at fair market value for each of these items. Hell, those jewels alone could help him regain all the money he spent here, and that was part of the reason he couldn't just take them so cheaply. Sometimes it wasn't all that profitable to be honest, but he figured that this was a special occasion that happened very rarely for merchants. It was only fair that he treat this customer with the utmost respect and not try to get any merchandise without fair value trade. He handed the paper to the kid once more to see what he had to say about the new numbers, he had a feeling that they could both be stubborn about this sale.
Taking the paper he looked over the figures for that the merchant put down and was surprised to see that they were higher than the ones that he had listed. Usually haggling worked the other way and the person selling wanted to get the most out of it, but this time it seemed that they were working it in reverse. Lifting his eyes from the paper to look at the man, they both stared at each other before starting to laugh at their own antics. Conri had to admit that this guy was definitely an interesting merchant, and he would have to come by here more often just to see what he could get for him. Generally, when one proved they were trustworthy in all aspects, it opened up a lot of doors especially if that person was a merchant looking for business. He sighed slightly at that and had to nod, there was no way he could disagree with the numbers after the man went out of his way to reject the low ones that he had been given. As a man, it would be like an insult if he continued to try pushing for a lower number for his own goods when the man before him wouldn't accept them. It would be like fighting a battle that neither participant wanted, but were fighting it just for the sake of fighting. That would never really accomplish anything and it might just create a bit of bad air between the two for no reason.
“Alright, you win, that's how much I'll sell them for. I never met a merchant that wanted to pay more for something before,” he had to laugh, the idea nowadays seemed almost like a foreign concept. He took a seat by the stand and used his psychokinesis to help the man move all of it into the back of his shop. There he would wait for him to come back out with the payment for the items and from that point on he could start walking a path that wasn't weighed down by that past. There were times where being too focused on what was behind you, that you failed to see what was waiting in front of you and he wanted to avoid that kind of thing from here on if it were possible. When the man came back with the rest of the money, he didn't need to count it, he trusted the man enough to take whatever payment he'd been given.
“Thanks for the money, if I need anything I'll be sure to contact you first,” he said with a nod to the man as he headed for his ship to get back to Earth for a bit. He was somewhat homesick at this point, but before that he had one more stop to make, he needed to let someone know about Ninjin and the female Saiyan. He needed to learn her name so that he could offer her the proper respect because she was a warrior that deserved to be respected. With his ship having been brought back to him, he could easily head to New Vegeta and then to Earth.
“It's a good sword, you can tell there was a lot of work put into it, so the price should be a fair one. It is still a useable weapon after all.
