There was more there. He was sure of it. If only he could tap further into that storm that dwelled within him. Then he could push beyond what he was capable of now. He could go further. Ninjin sat with eyes closed, sitting, mediating, as he was want to do. His arms rest on his lap and his posture is pristine. A soft humming escapes his lips, lifting out and down across the fields of Heaven. It was peace. This time however he was in his Super Saiyan form. He had ascended the first level of Super Saiyan, and now, whatever level he was at, was stronger than it had been. His power was growing, and there seemed to be no end.
Yasai, his four-time great grandfather, kept commenting whenever he would fighting against any of the clones of any of them that he thought that there was more to the Super Saiyan form than what he was accessing. Ninjin too was sure of it. The problem however remained that he still did not have control over the storm. The font of energy that he drew his power in all forms from. When he had first accessed it had been in the spaceship on the way to Mement Mor. Or at least that’s when it truly came into focus. He supposed that it had always been there though, it was the same energy that fed his Oozaru transformation, but it had changed. It felt as if he was accessing a large part of it when he went into his ascended Super Saiyan form, but there was more. There was definitely more.
Yasai’s cough interrupted Ninjin’s meditation and one of the dead Saiyan’s eyes opened to stare at his grandfather. Yasai nodded, but his mouth was set in a firm line of displeasure. Ninjin rose to meet him.
“Have I told you I think you do too much of that?” He gestured with his hand at Ninjin and what he had been doing moments before.
“Meditation?” His question was met with a firm “hmmp.”
“What’s wrong with meditation?”
“You have an eternity to train and hone your body to physical perfection. You are the Super Saiyan. If I had to wager a guess I would say that you were the legendary Super Saiyan. I’ve never seen such power as you wield and yet here you are sitting cross legged on a field thinking thoughts. I hope that that puts you at ease, because it certainly doesn’t do the same for me, and anyone else sane for that matter.”
Ninjin was taken aback by his grandfather’s sudden outburst. Yasai turned away from Ninjin and crossed his arms, but it looked as if he still had more to say.
“Is there more?”
“It almost literally pains me to watch you sit there and not train in the Super Saiyan form. If I had it I would do little but. That form is the strength of legend. The strength of our people. It is a symbol of Saiyan might. Of Saiyan hope and prosperity in the universe. The stronger you become the stronger our people become and when, not it, you return to the land of the living you need that strength. To not access the next level, to not continue to strive to the next level, is a complete insult to our race.” Yasai had turned to face him during his outburst and it was clear that his hot-headed great-great-great-great grandfather was upset by his inaction. Still Ninjin needed to meditate to access further levels of the storm inside himself as much as he needed to train the physical form. Yasai seemed to forget that not all battles were won with pure physical might.
“I have an idea for more power in the Saiyan form, if you’d hear it.” Yasai said the words after a long moment of silence between the two. Ninjin nodded and Yasai, for the first time since walking over, smiled.
“When you achieved the next level your muscles grew to a level they had not been before.” Ninjin nodded and looked down at himself to inspect. It was true that his body had bulked up in size during his transformation.
“Could you focus on that?” Yasai poised the question and Ninjin shrugged. Theoretically it was possible he supposed. A crystal came quickly out of Yasai’s pocket and a demonic form of Ua surged forwards and smacked Ninjin hard in the face. The unexpectedness of the attack staggered the dead prince and before he knew it three further Demonic Ua’s sprang forth from the crystal. Ninjin’s armor of Bubebolos came onto him with a thought.
The Ua’s charged, but more and more came forth from Yasai’s simulation crystal. They began to bog him down with sheer weight and size. It was more than he could handle. They began to wail upon him without mercy, blow after blow bounced off his armor but that would only hold for so long. Somewhere from the outside he heard Yasai’s voice.
“Push your focus into strength and durability!”
Ninjin roared with focus. His Super Saiyan form was powerful, and it had brought with it a rush of new strength and a swelling of his muscles. Yasai’s idea meant to focus upon that and push his pure and raw physical strength and durability to levels beyond. Ninjin began to focus. His muscles began to swell beyond what his armor would allow and so with a thought he dismissed it. The blows that the Ua’s were raining down upon him were somehow less painful than when he had had the armor on. Though they had began to force him into a crater created by his own body he slowly began to stand despite the force. His muscles felt like they were engorged, though his power was undeniable. Despite the strength and durability he felt much slower. Not slow enough as to be weak, but his speed felt drastically reduced from his ascended form, as if he had lost that which he had gained in the ascendancy.
After that the Uas were nothing to him. With great force he flung them away and then hit each of them with a ki blast. They could do nothing to stop him. Though he did it slowly, they could not stop his relentless advance until each and every last one was gone. Yasai’s eyes were filled with a look of delight, but there was also vindication there. Ninjin turned, his bulky frame engorged with muscle.
“You were right.” The words were said confidently, as if Ninjin was assured in his new power. And why wouldn’t he be. If there was more, Ninjin would surely reach that level as well. Who could match the new might of Ninjin Hattori?
