The jungle was deep and it had already taken days to hack through to get here. This wasn't his place in the world, he was a city boy, but he’d been forced into this, the simulator had thrown him into the jungle, had ramped up gravity to the point where Nasu could barely get off the ground let alone fly above the trees.
The new tech was amazing. Able to simulate the most life like environments all around him. Able to convince him he was in a far off land fighting for his life in a jungle. All the while in the back of his head he knew he was safe on his home of New Vegeta. Still he remembered the last time he had been in one of these simulators he had pleaded to be set free. To end the training while he could, but the simulator malfunctioned and he was trapped.
The thought lingered in the back of his mind as he debated taking off his heavy weighted clothing. The weights made his training far more effective even as they clung to his body, attached to him by the layer of salt and sweat that covered his skin. But the risks that came with it were huge. His own AI had never been a fan of him and if it could it would take any opportunity to rid itself of Nasu and find a better owner. Still the risk was worth the reward, he could feel his body getting stronger every time he stepped in the chamber and even if there wasn't time to take off the weights later, for now they stayed on.
Staring up he looked at the tower in front of him. It had taken him four days to reach it but something told Nasu the end of his journey was here. This was the first structure he’d seen since the computer threw him into the jungle. He’d been here so long he ran out of supplies, he was forced to scavenge for food and water. He didn’t have a razor and a thick bushy mustache had grown on his face, but much to his disappointment not even a trace of a beard to match. Sometimes his mixed race blood confused him.
Still, up to this point the dense jungle had only been his second biggest problem on the way here, the first had been the constant attacks by the monkey troops that lived in the area. From the moment he drew near to the structure, they had done everything in their power to stop him getting here. But they had failed. Still they had done their damage, a gash on the top of his skull continued to bleed from their last attack turning. He tore off part of his tee shirt to tie off the blood and to make a hat to shield himself from the sun and the heat, but the blood had turned his previously white shirt a bright red and he could tell sooner or later the shirt would be soaked beyond it’s ability to absorb and the blood would start dripping through.
Still now the tower stretched above him, huge and ancient, inside was his goal, but he was tired and hungry and the wonder was lost on him. A screech from deep in the jungle reminded Nasu that it was getting dark and the monkeys would be back soon. He’d managed to kill several after their last attack, but there were always hundreds more - at least they gave him something to eat.
The door creaked open and he pushed inside the dark tower. The jungle had spilled inside, through every crack in the walls and creepers and roots were thick across the floor, but it was fairly secure and after wedging the door closed, Nasu felt fairly sure he would be safer here than he had been for days.
With a grunt he pulled a hunk of monkey from his bag and then found his matches and began making a small fire, roasting the meat over it. As grease dripped down his chin and fingers he smiled for once he would eat well. The light danced on the stones and once he had eaten, he looked around and began to explore the space.
It was eerily quiet, the walls somehow completely blocking out all noise from the jungle leaving him alone, able to hear nothing but the sound of his own breath and his heartbeat. Across from where Nasu had entered were the ruined remains of a staircase. They had mostly fallen down from above and blocked the way up, but there were gaps and he could see a way through the rubble; that was for tomorrow though. As he moved away he just caught a glimpse of something carved in the wall "Level 1". It made his blood run cold.
Sitting down Nasu curled up facing away from the carving pulling his jacket up over his shoulders and huddling underneath. Warm under his weighted jacket Nasu slept well and woke at first light. Before long he had pulled aside the rocks that blocked the stairs and worked his way through. Above, the next few floors of the tower had collapsed and the floor was thick with stone, but beams still criss crossed the tower, close enough to climb, although it would be difficult.
Within a half hour he had pulled himself up to a small upper area. His hands covered in scrapes skin torn from the climb were on his knees and he breathing hard from exertion. He could truly feel the effects of the increased gravity and cursed the fact he couldn’t fly. His eyes adjusting to the light on this new level he noticed bones lying in front of him and stepped back instinctively. When he realized whoever left the bones had to be long dead he inched forward to get a closer look. It was probably a man just judging from the unusual height, and a man with terrible fashion sense going off the ugly green shirt the dead man was wearing. Still Nasu said a quiet prayer that this man would get another shot at life when the first noise came.
It was a shuffling scrape, coming from above him. Like huge footsteps with something dragged and it came from high above me. Through the dust and the broken beams he glared up, trying to see whatever had broken the perfect silence around him. But before he saw whatever it was he heard it. A primal scream which echoed back and forth and then a deep grunting.
It moved out onto a ledge and Nasu finally saw what he was up against; it was the king of all monkeys, a huge ape with vast bulging muscles and his small eyes were fixed on mine. He screamed again, the noise shaking something primal inside of the creature, the beast grabbed a piece of stone and flung it at Nasu, sending it bouncing through the beams.
It missed, but he was already looking for another and Nasu realised he would have to move fast. He scrambled up, pulling himself up the beams fighting the increased gravity every step of the way, his muscles aching in rebellion. Once in an effort to avoid one of the stones thrown down at him he attempted to fly up a level but the gravity in the chamber shot up only for a moment sending him crashing to the ground in a heap. Pushing with both his arms and legs as fast as he could he just barely jumped over the stone crashing down towards his head.
Avoiding the stones and other detritus that the monkey flung at him Nasu slowly made his way upwards, climbing the tower inch by inch and getting closer and closer. Then the silence was broken again, but not by the beast, but by a sob.
The ape heard it too and turned, screaming at the small bundle beside him that Nasu had ignored, but he was now close enough to see was a pink dress.
His heart leapt, he had a prisoner, a girl and she was still alive. How she had ended up here he didn't know and why the monkey king kept her he had no idea, but she was there and still alive.
Energised Nasu redoubled his efforts, leaping like a simian himself, getting closer and closer. The huge ape threw things more quickly now, but he looked worried too and soon Nasu was near enough to be able to smell him. With a final wild leap he flung himself onto the beast’s platform and clawed his way to standing, but when Nasu stood, it was too late, he was gone.
A rain of pebbles made him look up, the monkey king was far above me, already making his way to a higher platform. The only thing that remained where Nasu stood was a small tiara that must have belonged to the girl and the smell of fresh peaches as if she had been baking them into a pie.
The chase was on, Nasu pulled his red cap low and flexed his aching muscles, he would not fail this test. He would save princess...peach.

Come on tell me you didn't both laugh and face palm when you realized?
