I have a question for anyone who can answer. I need to make some animated GIF's for my spriting but don't need to shell out five million dollars for a copy of photoshop. Does anyone know of a utility that can do this? In addition I will need the option to set transparency colors and I would like something that stays on the machine, not an internet utility.
And of course, here's an example of some of my first sprites for Ethan. These two frames would repeat for a flying animation:
And since I'm not an art thief, credit goes to Sean Altly for much of the original work. Mainly what I've done is a palette swap and then some custom poses from there.

Another updated, primarily just to bump this topic back up to the top of the stack, and secondarily, to showcase my next animation for Ethan Sprite. This is a jumping mount onto his board. The arm motion is a little jerky but I don't have anything that can serve as a frame in between the two positions. I also increased the frame rate a bit to try and hide the jerky motions but there's only so much I can do with the sprites I have on hand.
