A saiyan and a kind, gentle human woman stood beside each other, smiling and looking through an observation window at several babies that were all cuddled up and cozy in a blue or pink blanket and in clear containers. Some were crying yet some were calm and seemed to be asleep. The human mother’s eyes brightened up as a new baby was being brought out as a person clad in white calmly placed the new arrival in an empty clear container. It wrapped in a blue blanket, showing that it was a boy. “There he is Tadashi….our little baby boy.” The doctor clad in white looked up at the eager couple and smiled at them before walking away. “Yes, there he is….our little Toshio Katsuo.” The baby Toshio laid there in his container, all at peace, as the baby seemed to just be relaxing. The two parents looked at each other and kissed as they then turned back to look at their baby boy.
“I want him to be as strong as you are..” the mother, Bliss, said to her husband. The saiyan smiled “and I want him to be as sweet and tender as you….with maybe a rough edge because after all...he does have saiyan blood.” The father chuckled and kissed his wife once more before they continued to look in on the nursery at their precious newborn baby boy.
What the parents said would come to fruition...although not all at once. Tadashi wanted to enroll the young boy at a nearby martial arts school, hoping that the school would help teach him restraint and discipline. Bliss agreed, and thus at the age of five Toshio Katsuo was enrolled at the Hamoni Yushu’s institute or ‘School of Harmony and Excellence’. Their motto, that of an older generation, was this Friendship, Struggle and Victory. One must Struggle to attain Friendship and through that Friendship one gains Victory overall resulting in a good balance of harmony and excellence.
As the boy was enrolled, Toshio’s aggressive nature began to show itself. It didn’t take long before Toshio had become a bully of sorts, often taunting and beating the other kids in his class with malicious intent so much so that he was moved to several different classes in order to try and mediate his anger issues. Although his anger and aggression continued to last, the boy did show impressive technique and fighting skills, and was often called the fury prodigy. As Toshio grew in age, so did his malicious intent, at the age of fourteen the young teenage half-saiyan nearly killed an opposing school member in a fight that was not supervised on school ground. That had been the last straw and the headmaster brought in his parents to have a stern talk about their violent boy.
After their long talk, Tadashi agreed to have a stern talking to with his boy and for him to be given one last chance to show that he can turn his ill tendencies around and become a more disciplined martial artist. The school’s headmaster reluctantly agreed to Tadashi’s terms and would give the boy one last chance and a week to show improvement otherwise he would be expelled. Tadashi and Bliss left, hoping that they could change their boy’s life around.
They took Toshio back home up in the mountain area, and he and his father would go out on what he told Toshio was a ‘routine training session’ while Toshio was none the wiser, Tadashi was going to physically and mentally drain the young boy out.
After several hours and a very worried mother later, they returned to their small house. Both battered and bruised but Toshio looking the worse and Bliss saw something in her boy that she had not seen since he was a baby, the face of someone who had been crying. The heart felt mother managed to keep her tears of joy in check as she looked upon her once hardened boy. Hopefully...whatever Tadashi did and said would change their young son’s life.
The first day back at school for Toshio, the headmaster could immediately see a change in the young boy. He was more silent and more willingly to lend a helping hand to others, he also seemed to take in more of what the teachers said and did during their many lessons. A week would go by without an incident; in fact the young teenager happened to dismantle something that would have been a nasty situation. Adhering to their agreement, the headmaster would let the young Katsuo but would still be on a short leash saying that years of the same mentality needed more time to heal than just a week’s time. Days would turn to months and months to years, soon Toshio was seventeen, and had arguably become the most talented warrior at the school. However… something was about to happen to Toshio that would change his life once more.
One weekend, his father had come down to the school seeking to talk to his soon. Daunted by how his son had done so well at the school the last three years, he wanted to take the boy on a vacation, just the two of them because of his hard and dedicated work. Toshio agreed, happy to spend time with his father. The father-son duo would head to an abandoned island, just to take in the scenery and enjoy the ocean waves and eve get in a few sparring sessions every once in a while. The two spent two weeks doing such things before two saiyans randomly showed up, Toshio had been gathering food supplies when he saw his father talking to the new arrivals. When he got close enough, his father stopped talking and turned to his son. The two would then have a conversation, informing the younger Katsuo that he had brought him out here because he was about to head on a super secret mission for the king of New Vegeta and wanted to spend his remaining time with his family on Earth. Haven chosen the first two weeks of the month to spend with just his mother and having spent the other two weeks of the month spending it here with just his boy. After a tearful goodbye and promises of a great return, Tadashi would leave with the two saiyans leaving a tearful Toshio Katsuo standing on the lone island…alone.
Toshio would return first to his home to grieve with his mother at their father’s departure, but managed to brighten up in hopes that he would return soon safe and sound. Toshio would then return to school once more and proceeded to continue training, in hopes to impress his father even more upon his return. A year would go by without any word from Tadashi, and worry began to sink in for the now eighteen year old Toshio. His training would slack off and he would sink into a multitude of depressions, the friends he had gained and the teachers he had trained under all tried to help but nothing seemed to work. Even his mother came to the school to try and comfort her boy but to little avail. Another year would go by and Toshio would be out shopping for supplies for the school when he noticed the same two saiyans that came to get his father arrived at his location. Talking to them he learned that his father...had been killed on the mission just recently, the mission having longevity because of the trouble they had with it. Learning the details of the mission, receiving a letter and bidding the saiyans goodbye, Toshio would seek out and return to the same island from before he left and spend that time reading and re-reading the letter as well as just thinking over all the times he spent with his father. A full day passed before the elder teenager returned to his family home and gave the news to their mother, they would both grieve together.
After having somewhat of a closure to his father’s hopeful return, Toshio pushed the depression out of him, citing to train harder than ever before and prove to his father that he can handle anything thrown his way and that he would become the best warrior possible. More years would pass and Toshio’s tough training would put him at the top of the school’s list for trained talent and often was consulted to help with the younger students in training lessons. It wasn’t long before the headmaster himself would begin to solely train the young boy, taking him under his wing personally. Years would pass again and Toshio would soon be thirty years of age and had become a teacher of the school once the headmaster’s training had been completed just three years prior.
One day the headmaster called a meeting of all the teachers and helpers of the school, it was a meeting where the elderly headmaster would announce his retirement and bestow the title of headmaster to a new person. Although Toshio had probably been the top candidate for years now, he himself was still surprised and humbly honored when the grandmaster had chosen him to help continue leading the school. Toshio was the first half-bred to become a headmaster of the school in it’s long history, most having been full blooded humans and a few full saiyans. Toshio was also the youngest headmaster ever chosen, thirty-five being the previous record going all the way back to it’s original founder.
Toshio would prove to be an admirable headmaster, providing leadership, valuable training, and a great overall helpful presence during the next thirty-five years. Finally...it was his time to retire and name another commendable chief to help continue to lead the school. Toshio had trained many apprentices over the last few years; instead of just focusing on one particular person he had many that would make grand headmasters. The choice was difficult, however the choice would be the first big change in the school’s major history since it began. Calling fourth all the staff and helpers, like the grandmaster before him, to a meeting he would give one of his now well known great speeches before choosing the next headmaster. It was a surprise to everyone there we he choose not one...but two individuals to act as the headmasters of the school. Each one having the same power applied. Toshio would go into the details of why he had chosen two individuals and thus providing comfort to those that were still shocked at the decision. For the first time in the school’s history, it would have two people leading the school. Toshio hoped that his decision would not be in vein.
After bidding farewell to the new leader’s and everyone at the school, he would embark on a new journey...To a planet he had heard and read about but never visited. Once there he would meet and greet the namekians there and upon arriving became close to the namekians that followed the old traditions, helping in terms o gardening, in which the namekians had only done in sport before Toshio had gotten there as well as help train and teach young namekians many valuable lessons. He would also get to know and help out the Guru that was there, helping in any way that he could. He might have been an old man by earth standards but it was nothing compared to the age of namekians. Five years have now gone by since his arrival and Toshio has learned many things from the namekians and hence helped to try and teach them stuff as well. Still enjoying his retirement now at the ripe age of seventy, the half-saiyan half human warrior and educator continues to enjoy helping out others and spending time with the many young namekians eager to hear his stories and teachings from back on earth.
