Ohkara was dumbfounded as two small children ran around her in circles, screaming at the top of their lungs. How she ended up in such a situation was still somewhat of a mystery, even to her. Her head felt like it was going to explode and it was hard for her to think. The only thought coming through to her was to rethink her whole day, and try to find what had gone wrong. So that was exactly what she did.
Her morning was ordinary. She ate breakfast, did her morning exercises, and took a shower, but from there on was where things began to get weird. Leaving her apartment, Ohkara was greeted by an older homeless man, who insisted she was the most beautiful women in the world. She was not flattered by this, and had to repeatedly push him off of her. To top it all, the man stunk like nothing she'd even smelt before, so needless to say, she wasn't going to let him get too near to her.
Using her ability to fly, Ohkara took to the sky, raising out of reach just in time to avoid a violent grab from the hobo. With a sigh of relief she watched him from above, trying to decided if he was truly dangerous or not. Her decision was made easily as the man let out a rude, loud spell of flatulence before vomiting, wetting himself, and falling over blacked out. Just to make sure he would survive before she left, she quickly dialed up a medic on her phone, and asked for their assistance.
It was a Saturday and with the tone that seemed to be set already, Ohkara had an idea she was in for quite the day. But having no plans, she though that maybe she'd at least have something to do. She always hated to have too much down time. "Idle hands are the devil's playthings,"she would say, quoting her late father's most infamous saying.
Her father had been quite the workaholic, a trait that he had passed down to his daughter along with many other interesting quirks. If she wasn't doing something to help others, she was improving herself, and if she wasn't doing that, she was probably sleeping. Even in her dreams she was always training and trying to hone her skills; which was something she'd only stop doing when she died. Though unknown to her, that was most likely due to her hidden Saiyan half.
Her origins had not been intentionally kept from her, but her father fell ill before he could tell her and the truth behind her Saiyan mother died with him. Even the fact that her first name was of Saiyan origin was unknown to her. The only facts left that could bring her the truth were hidden deep inside her, waiting to be awoken.
Carrying on her marry way, she soared high in the sky, using her ability to sense ki to scan below for any disturbances. From up there she felt like a guardian angel, watching over a whole city. It was a feeling like no other, the power and responsibility almost overwhelming. Ohkara had always loved to be a protect; yet another train inherited from her father, she assumed.
Her concentration was broken as the sound of a siren echoed through the air. Stopping in her tracks, Ohkara's eyes frantically scanned the city below, and it wouldn't take long for her to track down the source. Far below, deep inside the city, sirens from a bank squealed. Down the road from that, two figures dressed in black were zooming carelessly through the busy city streets on a motorcycle. As they darted in and out of oncoming traffic and up and onto sidewalks, a line of police cars followed them, their sirens blaring as well.
Quickly deciding that it would be best for these men to be taken care of before they hurt anyone, Ohkara descended to the ground. Dropping like a stone, she fell, her feet somehow connecting silently with the pavement, amazing grace in her movements. Raising her hand with her middle and index fingers pointed at the criminals, she gave a bright smile. But the criminals seemed to be too preoccupied to notice the girl standing in front of them and barreled on forwards.
Her smiled faded as she noted they would not be stopped so easily. Why was it that criminals always had to do things the hard way? Giving a wink, her hand shifted lightly and a bright green blast left her fingers, "Bang," she said, with a slight humored tone. The blast traveled through the air with speed and precision, easily hitting it's target. Connecting with the front tire of the bike, it would pierce right through the rubber, sending the bike flying and one of the riders into the sky. However, Ohkara was ready for this and was easily able to catch the man right before he hit the ground.
Upon her catch the man fainted and soiled himself. The driver of the bike, however wasn't quite as lucky. As the bike skidded out of control, the man was brought with it and pinned against a brick wall as the bike toppled over onto him. He let out a scream and struggled against the weight of the motorcycle on top of his legs.
After surrendering the first criminal over to the police, Ohkara set her attention on the other. Though he was crying like a baby and covered in road rash, he was most likely going to come out of this situation okay. Easily pulling the bike off of him, she squatted down next to him so she'd be eye level.
"Do you know where you are?" she asked, concerned.
"David! Is David okay?!" His hands were shaking with fear, and Ohkara could tell her was genuinely scared for his friend.
"He is fine," she told him, "He now smells about as bad as you look, but he's fine." Letting out a small giggle, Ohkara quickly covered her mouth. What a rude thing to say! But it was all lost as the man was taken into custody and turned over the the medics. Wrapping her knuckles on the window between them, Ohkara nearly pressed her face against the glass. She had one thing left to say to the criminal. Happy to oblige, an officer cracked the window so the man could hear.
"I hope you learned a lesson!" she scolded him, "Next time, you might not be so lucky to go to jail. Next time, you might end up dead!" And with that, she once again took to the sky, leaving the rest to the professionals, and the criminals to think about what they'd done.
---
As she soared through the sky, she danced gracefully, spinning and weaving, rising and dropping. Each of her movements were intention, even the slightest one meant to move her along her path, all executed artfully. And the reason for such behavior? Simply because it was fun. Sure, it could be considered a training exercise to a point, but the real reason was simply because she enjoyed the gift of flight. However, her fun was quickly put to an end when she noticed a frantic group of people on the ground. Quickly dropping, she approached them to see what was wrong.
"My babies! They're gone!" A large woman exclaimed, grabbing at Ohkara's top. The girl calmly took the woman's hands and tried to calm her down, "Now, now. Slow down. Tell me what happened." After calming the woman and getting her to sit down, Ohkara asked the woman again to tell her story. The woman was more than happy to speak, "I just can't believe it!" she told her, "One second they were playing in my yard, the next they were gone!"
She told her that her twin boys had gone missing. It had been two hours since she'd last seen them and it was beginning to look like they might have been kidnapped; however, after speaking with some of the bystanders, Ohkara decided that that might not be the case. Apparently the two boys were real troublemakers, often terrorizing the neighborhood just for fun. Chanced were that they had ran off for the attention. Regardless of what the case was, Ohkara was going to do whatever it took to help out.
Taking to the sky once again, the girl scanned the surroundings, looking for any signs of the children. And it wasn't an easy task, but soon she was hot on their trail. It seemed that they had wondered quite a ways away from their home, and when Ohkara finally caught sight of them, she guessed they were nearly forty-five minutes away.
One of the boys was laying in the ally way, sobbing uncontrollably. Instinctively, Ohkara rushed over to side side,
"Are you okay!?" Turning, the boy smiled sadistically, and suddenly Ohkara's world went black.
She awoke bound by ropes and tied to a fence post in the middle of an ally. The two boys were running around her in circles, screaming like lunatics. Looking past them, Ohkara spotted a bloodied crowbar, which was obviously the weapon used to knock her out. It seemed that the neighbors had been right, these boys were demon-children.
Now, the reality of the situation was the she could have escaped in an instant, but after rethinking exactly how she'd gotten there, she came up with a much better idea. Instead of fighting them, she would play along with their little game, and see exactly what they were planning.
"Oh my!" She shouted as dramatically as she could, hoping the catch the boy's attention. It worked and the boys stopped with their circles and walked around to face her. Making the most of the kids being on the opposite side, Ohkara slyly removed her phone from her back pocket and quickly sent her location to the boys' mother.
"What?" One of the boys shouted, his tone snobby and entitled.
"Now that you boys have captured me, what is your plan?" Now, Ohkara was simply trying to waste time. By her guess, it would take their mother about fifty minutes to arrive and see her kids being crazy. One of the boys starred at her, his head tilted to the side with confusion, while the other one fixed his gaze behind her, fear suddenly appearing in his eyes. Shifting, Ohkara did her best to look over her shoulder, but all she could see was the dark ally.
"Its fine, Michael. I will take over from here," The voice of a man, dark, deep, and evil.
The boys obeyed, running off as quickly as they could, but not before Ohkara got a good lock on their tiny energy signatures. Now, if they disappeared again, she would have no problem sensing their energy and tracking them down. Even in a situation like this, she was always thinking. Yet another trait she was happy to have taken from her father.
As soon as the boys were gone the man approached her, stopping directly behind her. His breath was staggered, and smelt like death, his hands trembling as they rose around either side of her. "I've been waiting for this moment since I saw you this morning..." His fingers flexed and she could hear him lick his lips. There was no doubt what his intentions were, "This time, you wont fight me..."
He inhaled hard, smelling her hair, and his hands shot towards her. Acting quickly, her head snapped back, connecting hard enough to knock the man backwards. Ohkara's hands balled into fists, which she drew back, causing her toxic-green ki to explode outwards, ripping the ropes the bound her to shreds.
In an awesome display of power, Ohkara turned to face her attacker, her energy crackling like fire, her piercing yellow eyes ablaze with flames of their own. Even with a power level of ten-thousand, this man was no match for her.
"Y-y-you're not h-human!" the man shouted, holding his obviously broken nose, blood pouring from between his fingers and pooling under him.
Ohkara stepped towards him, raising a hand. Before he could react, her hand caught his shoulder, fingers flexing to grab a hold. The man howled with pain as he was lifted into the air, and in that moment she realized that this man was the same bum that had tried to grope her earlier that morning.
"I am human! More human than you will ever be," she screamed, "You monster!" Her knee reared up hard, connecting with he man's stomach. If she wasn't careful, she would have easily killed him, but as the man's eyes went wide and he doubled over, Ohkara knew she had held back enough. Jumping back just in time to avoid the man's vomit, she watched him go limp afterwards, landing in a pool of his own blood and bile.
Ohkara's firey-ki faded, her rage leaving with it. looking the hobo over, she shook her head, "Such a waste. With power like yours, you could have easily done so much good... Now, you'll have to spend time rotting in jail..."
"DON'T KILL US TOO!" screamed a boy. The boys were backed up against a nearby dumpster, and had seen Ohkara's one hit knock out. Hugging against each other, it was pretty obvious how scared of her they really were. Trying to give them a bright smile, Ohkara put her hands out in front of her, "No, no, boys!" she told them, "Your mother should be here any minute to get you!"
"Michael! Justin!" A shout from behind them, and right on cue, their mother turned the corner.
It didn't take too long for the police to arrive and arrest Ohkara's attacker. And soon things were back in order. As for the boys, in exchange for not telling their mother about what they had done, Ohkara made them promise to behave from now on; "And remember," she whispered to them, "if you don't, I'll do to you what I did to him," she added with a wink, pointing to the hobo as the police loaded him into an ambulance to get checked out. As the boys turned pale, jaws agape, Ohkara giggled and walked away, leaving them to think about things.
"Gee!" A policeman shouted, "If you keep this up, well be out of a job soon!" The whole group burst into laughter at such a joke, but each officer patted Ohkara on the back for all her help. It was nice to know that they were thankful for all the effort she put in, and she was thankful that no one had gotten hurt.
But with all the action, time had flown, and the day was now coming to an end. As five o'clock approached, Ohkara decided it was time to go home. She was craving Chinese food and sleep. But it would take her a few hours just to get home, and she would have to add time to the estimation if she wanted to pick up food.
---
After showering and feasting on a fortunes worth of take-out food, Ohkara's chance to finally relax was rudely interrupted by the ringing of her phone.
"Hello?"
"I am calling for Ms. Minamaru?" The voice of a young man.
"This is her."
"Ms. Minamaru, my name is Burton Wellington. I am the assistant to the mayor," his words came out hastily and Ohkara got the impression that he was nervous. But what did he have to be nervous about? It wasn't like he was the one getting a call from the mayor's office...
"And? What do you want?" Ohkara silently snickered; sometimes it was fun to mess with boys.
"Um, yes! I'm so sorry!" Now, the man was even more nervous, which caused his voice to occasionally crack, "The mayor wants to thank you for all of your help today. He has arranged that an appropriate reward be transferred to your bank account."
That surprised Ohkara, "Oh no!" She shouted, frantically waving her hands like he could see her,
"There is no need for that!"
"The mayor has insisted," his tone was now firm, like he knew she would deny, "You did save his boys, after all!"
Even more surprised rushed her, she had no idea that those mean little twins had been the mayors children. With a loss of words, Ohkara sat silent, trying to think things through.
"Also, once he is back, the mayor would like to personally thank you with a ceremony and celebration," There was a tone of happiness in the man's voice, something that made Ohkara smile a little.
"Oh... Wow... Okay..." She said, still dumbfounded.
"Okay then, we will be getting back in touch with you soon. The Mayor, and the City thank you, Ms. Minamaru."

Ohkara would take the rest of the night to think things through. Not even looking at her bank account, Ohkara turned off her lights and fell into her bed. She'd had all the surprises she could take for today. She would leave that for tomorrow. After she got a well earned, long, good nights sleep, that is...
