"Doors, seal. Lights, dimmed. Controls operational."
The words muttered softly in the air from Maya as she stood before the low glow of the console for the simulator. So many times she had come to this exact spot and so many adventures she had been forced into, some great, others not so much but their memories stained her mind like the windows in a stone cathedral... peaceful, yet haunting her thoughts like a phantom who looms just in the corner of your vision; no matter how hard one watched as the waiting hours passed a clear image could never form... it was better off that way. She was a complex individual from the rest that walked the world around her, as if many minds joined together create one living being; at times temper could erupt and other she was solemn, over looked like the shadows in mid day when the sun was at its peak... unnoticed, twas the life she had chosen to take, one of which she was fine with.
Shaking her head from one side to the other Maya focused her vision on the task at hand as her hands blurred over the machine before her; with each pass the lights flickered with various systems activating and reprogramming, most were routine tests while others were setting the machine to preform its duties. Today was unlike the rest that came before when the machine was in use, there was a set point to all of this, not wandering about in the mist and wonderment in the essence of other worlds. Today Maya sought to improve herself, not on another world unknown to her mind but right here on the moon; at least, in a sense.
"Active gravity."
The words slipped over her lips and not soon after a weight of fifteen worlds pressed down upon her shoulders making her give off a lively grunt as her body pushed back against the wordy force.
This was the way it was meant to be to improve her physical form, having a tough, well built mind had always proven useful in her life yet to stay a top of the pyramid she would need to focus her body, drawing power into her form in which to fend off those that chose to attack herself, or the Imperium. In the long run her training's had always been to develop herself, reach out towards the stars with her thoughts alone and absorb all the information that crossed her path, now... now she had something to defend; Akassa... the Imperium... even the filthy mess of slobs that walked the lunar world... they too were in her defense, a thought which at one point would have sicken her.
"Active simulation."
The room around her grew dim, even dimmer than it had been previously till nothing but her glowing eyes stood out in the absence of light, even then no reflection could be seen, for all she knew the universe was gone and this was all that was left... of course such a thing wasn't true, this was the simulation that was developing around her. Standing in silence aside from the few grunts that Maya let escape the world slowly came into view as no longer was she standing with the gravity chamber in the protection of the palace but now upon the lunar surface. Taking in the surroundings of the area Maya took notice of something that was off, while the Earth loomed over the moon in all of its colorful glory the moon was barren, nothing more than a grey barren waste land, nothing like the world she had come from.
"Ah... I see.... This was the moon, before."
Maya noted as she nodded her head in agreement with herself.
Long before Maya was created or even the Saiyan's had claimed this small world as their home it was nothing more than a cold, lifeless rock floating about in space, the only thing of importance to ever happen here was the few trips the Earthlings took her. Rocky craters jutted from the crust of the moon dotting the landscape from horizon to horizon, the only terrain that stood out as far as she could see. It was peaceful, and even though there no air would have existed at such a time in the moons past the rhythmic rising and lowering of her chest could be heard.
"All part of the simulation, after all, this is just that, a simulation."
Maya spoke, not for anyone but just for herself, some how hearing her own words helped to relax her though for what reason who knew.
"Ready then, spawning foes."
At her command the earth below began to shudder seeming that her voice alone had the power behind it to send the ground quaking, yet it was not her alone that had started the chain reaction. Grinding and groaning the plates of the moon shivered and smashed against one another in a tremendous movement, suddenly three cracks appeared a short distance from Maya splitting the earth open with steam bursting from its depths. Eye brow raising Maya watched in silence with the scene unfolding before her, she had programmed this event yet the machine found it necessary to add some flash to it; it mattered little either way, Maya had all the time in the world to watch.
With the quake coming to an end chucks of soil fell into the now widened trenches falling deep into the void below, clattering upon each strike of the caverns tunnels the sound continues for quite some way till its echo fades off. While the sound faded another replaced it, a high pitched cackling of the hellish type, it was not a single voice but three of them. Bursting from the cracked ground three greenish blurs launch themselves into the vast sky allowing for Maya eyes to adjust to their rapid ascension giving her a clear view of what they were; as if she didn't already know.
"Saibamen."
Grinning sheepishly she watched as they fell from the sky, landing a few feet away from her. All in all they weren't very impressive, their powers far below that of hers even with the gravity and the weighed coat that was strapped around her chest. For the experiment these creatures would have to do, the were weak, but this was all practice, nothing else... of course such things could change. For some time Maya realized that her offensive capabilities could use some bolstering with the fact that her main offensive abilities were a scythe and a cannon which was easy to see coming from miles away; for that reason Maya had been working on something which could be used like a hidden wrist pistol.
"Is there something you're waiting for?"
Maya cocked her head towards one side with a blank stare into their eyes.
"Let's being before you die from aging."
Maya prodded at them given her expansive life span.
The slight nudge was all the Saibamen needed as either eyes glanced at one another in unison almost as if their minds were connected with one another, and given they were related to plants the idea might not have been that far off. Lunging forward the three green aliens launched themselves at Maya with lighting speed yet Maya saw it, ever movement of their body, ever slight twist of muscle down to the twitches their fingers made; she saw it all. Rather than bursting them away with a single swipe Maya took a running position as she tore through the air between the quickly shrinking gap between their clawed hands. Creating a gust of air in her wake the Saibamen tumbled about in the air as the separated from one another as they feel across the open cratered field.
"I knew Saibamen were weak... this is... saddening."
Maya shook her head slightly with disappointment that even a simple gust of air could send them fleeing off in different directions like leaves in autumn. It was what it was, she had set it up to be like this, so she faced her own creation.
Regrouping from across the field the Saibamen stood once again ready to pounce upon Maya though their eyes shifted differently than before, she could see a mixture of fear and uncertainty behind them; Maya found it odd that Saibamen even could show fear let alone be uncertain in their actions then again this was a simulation, what else could it do?
Sighing slowly Maya raised her hand into the air as she swiped it before her as a small text floated before her. It was a command system in which all data in the simulation went through, everything from the environment which she stood in to those that were brought into it. Without so much as a thought Maya stepped off to one side as one of Saibamen took a swipe at her, eyes still focused on the screen Maya leaned towards one side as her leg extended outwards striking the Saibamen in the stomach with her foot; pinned across the chest the Saibamen grunted out with a spurt of blood gushing out from its mouth. Eyes rolling back into its head the Saibamen slumped over her leg for a moment before falling limp towards the ground in a heaping pile.
"Hmmm...."
Reaching the index for the Saibamen Maya began to heighten their power, first only by a few points but eventually their strength increased into the thousands till stopping around half Maya's current strength; while they were still no match for her it did give them a chance to survive a few minutes longer. Eyes dropping from the screen as it fades Maya looks upon the Saibamen, or at least what she assumed was them now. While before they had been half her height they now stood at least equal to her, yet their bodies were not proportional as one might expect. Heaving massive limbs like tree trunks while their heads were still the same size made them look more like poorly made action figures.
Eyes rolling about Maya sighed softly, it seemed the simulator had a sense of humor at least. Taking advantaged of their new found power the Saibamen pounced upon Maya ready to tear into her flesh, and unlike before Maya had to be ready for them. Still far off from her strength they could effectively attack her if they were wise in the ways of doing it, though against Maya that was saying a lot of their behalf. Arms braced up to defend herself the Saibamen dove in towards her with a burst of movement, their fists striking out at her in a blurred movement though each strike was met with a defending blow of her own. It was a good pace as the two groups pushed against one another across the field, each time a strike was met the quaking air shuddering sending bits of rock flutter across the lunar ground.
"Good enough."
Maya shrugged gently at the Saibamen's attempts to harm her. Punch for punch, block for block the assault continued from both side as slowly Maya began to gain the upper hand, her movements out pacing their own until her first strike slammed into the jaw of one of the Saibamen as blood gushed through his lips; going forward with her momentum Maya's body twisted forward in a tumble as her legs craned from behind and slammed into neck of the other Saibamen. A mixture of spittle and blood fell from their bodies as they flung across the field from Maya strikes, coming down in a spin Maya planted her hand on the ground as she used the rest of her speed to spin on the tip of her foot across the ground in a spinning motion creating a twister of dust around her.
Recoiling in mid air the two Saibamen grunted with a mixture of blood and spit drooling from their mouths, the rage that pooled from their minds radiated from their bodies as their eyes locked upon her; things were about to become interesting. Maya braced herself as they appeared upon her in a jerk of speed, their claws lashing out at Maya as she defended herself from their vicious lashes. With her power still towering over the Saibamen Maya was quick to react as she swung her fists out towards them, but they were ready this time. Lurching out in front of the other one of the Saibamen used his body as a shield taking the brunt of the attack for the other as it slipped around the first. Maya hadn't expected such a tactic from a under developed creature yet her eyes didn't lie. While her attacks had been focused on the first Saibamen she wasn't nearly quick enough to counter the second Saibamen as its clawed foot slammed into Maya's ribs. Without the need for bones no cracking came from the impact though it did send Maya tumbling off towards one side and smashing into the soft ashy soil of the moon.
Grunting deeply Maya pushed herself from the dusty ground as particles swirled around her form with her quick movement, being on the ground was a terrible position to be in when fighting another. Eyes turning towards the aliens they were quick to recover and lurch towards her once again. Like a cowering animal Maya crouched with one knee on the ground as the Saibamen pouched out at her, the sparkle of a smile in their yellow eyes at her defeat... Maya would have none of that though. Arm raising up to their level sparks of silver lighting formed in her palm as a ball of green energy appeared before her, even with their increased powers the Saibamen knew all to well that their reaction speed was far to slow to evade Maya's coming attack.
"Pulsar Cannon!"
Maya yelled as the static ball of energy erupted from her hand and into the coming Saibamen with a shower of silver light. Screaming with pain the Saibamen were battered about in the explosive force of her attack as they scattered into the air with blood leaking from their overall disproportional bodies. Landing a ways off from Maya the Saibamen were slow to recover as they knelt on the ground next to one another, wiping the blood from their cheeks, it did little to improve their bloodied appearance however. Where once she saw fear it was now replaced with anger, a lust to tear the flesh from her bones with greed; Maya was quick to pick up on this fact... so why not let them try. Once again Maya pulled at the air before her as the command console appeared, its various numbers flooding the screen. Cranking their powers up once more Maya watched in disbelief as the green alien grew all the more ridiculous, more muscles and limbs than creatures at this point they stood double her size towering over the small alien, their heads still holding the same tiny size as before.
Rolling her eyes once more Maya closed the console as the burly Saibamen trudged towards Maya, their massive bodies tearing holes in the lunar surface as they marched their way towards her. At this point their power levels were at least at her level, yet damage had been inflicted on them giving her the slightest edge but this was the moment Maya had waited for. With some distance still between them Maya stretched her arm out towards the lumbering jolly green alien giants. Focusing on her targets Maya could feel her energy surging through her body and into her arm, in times before it had only been a theory of what she was going to do... now it was time for the test.
"Concussive Burst."
Maya whispered under her breath seconds before the Saibamen clawed fingers would tear into Maya's skin.
Energy snapped from Maya's wrist as a tunnel of power rippled from it and into the Saibamen, eyes growing wide the green alien jerked backwards with the force of energy as they tumbled through the air in a mixed matched set of flaying limbs. Again Maya fired, and again into the Saibamen and with each hit from the seeming invisible force the Saibamen scream as their bodies were torn apart; skin ripping from their bodies as the muscles underneath and even those were stripped away with another impact till nothing but a scattered set of bones clattered on the lunar floor.
Smoke trailed from Maya's wrist as she blew it off slowly with a cool breeze from her mouth. It had worked as she though minus the steam rising from her arm but aside from that everything worked as expected... more messy however with bones and piles of flesh laying about the area. All in all it had proven to be effective, at least for what she wished it to be; a tad more forceful that previously expected but none the less effective. More practice would be needed to fine tune the new ability but for now... for now it got the job done.
"Save settings. Restart simulation."
Maya voiced as she stretched her arms one over the other with a twinkle of light in her eyes.
"Test One complete, Test Two... start."
Once again the world shook with the lights dimming as the screeching of the little aliens tore through the air, Maya couldn't tell if it was from pain... or for joy, the joy that came with prey being all to close... unfortunately for them they would be the prey here today, not Maya, never Maya, not in a world were she controlled everything.
Concussive Burst- A force invisible Ki ejects from Maya's wrist in a tunnel formation in the width of her hand. Though small the attack is great for forcing people back with its forceful nature though isn't very powerful less charged; one post cool down. When charged to level one Maya can fire it off three times in a row but with a two post cool down.
