Alright so let me start this off by saying that this is only my view on what I see occasionally on the site. This does not represent the view of staff as a whole and I do not claim to speak for any of them.
With that said let me begin. I realize that not everyone agrees or gets along. It is a fact of life. We are writers. We have egos. Trust me, I have an ego when it comes to my writing and because of that we step on each other. With that being said to settle disputes we talk with one another, you guys bring stuff to staff and then we have the report a post function.
I have seen people over the last couple of months not be thrilled with posts or the direction of a thread. People have taken to bringing it up in the cbox or leaving more for lack of a better term "passive aggressive" posts in the middle of the thread. This makes me cringe. It shows that we are not letting ourselves think clearly. We are all grown ups, and those of you who aren't congrats now you are, and we should act like it in these situations.
So this is my recommendation. If someone posts something you do not agree with due to a fight mechanics issue or if story wise you don't think something works or even if you would like to kilter the story a little bit. start by sending them a pm. Talk with the person, you would be surprised how receptive all of the members we have here can be. Changes could be made with a "Hey do you mind changing this because of this" and boom problem solved. Obviously if things don't resolve themselves then bring it to staffs attention but try talking to them first.
Again this is just a personal request. Take a deep breath before doing something on the site when your mind is clouded and talk with the other person. It never ends well.
