Toma stood up after eating all the delicous food, letting out a satisfied groan and smiling while stretching out his back. He then started to walk about the palace. He wandered around the palace, idly scoping out the area. Eventually, he stepped out into one of the simulators turning on a program to simulate Earth, but with increased Gravity. From what he understood, Earth was a planet under Saiyan control. Toma didn’t quite know what to think of this, as politics had never quite been his forte, but he figured it was good for the humans who lived on the planet, to be protected by the Saiyans from any threats, such as those that had attacked his own home on Sylor.
Just as Toma was beginning to relax, he heard something come up from behind him. Despite his not having Ki Sense, Toma was still quite the fighter. He quickly turned, bringing his right hand up and slamming it down to his lower left side in a quick deflective type motion. The unknown assailant, a woman from the looks of it, quickly spun around, faster than Toma could keep track, giving Toma a solid kick to his chest with her right foot, sending him flying into the air. Toma flipped head over heels several times before he spread his limbs out in an X shape and let out a yell, sending his Ki out in all directions to stop himself. But by the time he had, the woman was gone!
Toma turned around, looking for the woman. He checked his left, his right, and behind him and below! Not having seen her there, he looked up, only to be blinded by the bright sun that the solar system orbited. Closing his eyes and looking away, he was suddenly grappled from behind, his arms made useless as the assailant brought her arms up under his shoulders. Toma grunted in pain, before he spoke. “Who the hell are you?” He asked, as the woman smirked, laughing. “Your teacher. And it’s time for a lesson.” She spoke, before letting him go, spinning him around, and giving him a punch in the face.
Toma didn’t have time to react to this as he was sent into the wall of the castle, or well the simulation, and he groaned in pain as the virtual, but all to real feeling rubble laid on him. The woman walked over to him, dawned in her Saiyan combat suit, and crossed her arms, giving him a dissapointed glare. “Pathetic!” She spoke, before walking up to him, kicking him in the chest again. “And YOU’RE supposed to become a Super Saiyan?” She questioned, as Toma grunted out in pain each time she kicked him. “Hmph. I find it hard to believe that such a weakling is related to the Queen.” She spoke, before letting out another “hmph” sound and walking away, as Toma sat up.
Toma let out a couple of coughs. Between the difference in their strength and the fact that this gravity was weighing him down, there wasn’t much Toma could do to her. He stood up, panting and bleeding as he questioned again. “How did you get in here anyways?! Who are you exactly?!” He shouted, raising a hand and charging up a Ki blast. If this woman had come to kill him, even if Toma couldn’t win, he wasn’t going to go down without a fight.
She turned, staring him down, seemingly unphased by the fact that she had a Ki ball pointed right at her face. “I was assigned to train you by your older sister, the Queen. My name is Apla, and I’m to be your teacher and bodyguard until such time as the Queen decides to begin training you herself.” She spoke, and a look of shock crossed Toma’s face. He lowered his hand, his Ki blast’s energy fading back within his body. “So, what, you just randomly attack me? That seems kind of scummy personally. Back where I’m from, a master greets her pupil before engaging in a spar.” He spoke, as the woman fired a Ki blast at him, which Toma barely dodged. “Shut your mouth!” She barked back. “That’s just the kind of softness I expected from someone sent away at birth.” She spoke. “You’re a weakling with a soft heart! If you’re going to survive here you need to toughen up and stop complaining!”
Toma couldn’t help but let out a growl at that. He remembered the words his sister spoke about. About not wanting to change who Toma was, but wanting to teach him about his natural origins. That seemed fair enough to Toma, but to assign someone like this? He assumed she was a Saiyan that would be dubbed “Elite” amongst the Saiyans. Technically, Toma was in that same class. But not because he had earned it, but because of his Hattori blood. And that made her resent him. If he improved and proved he was worthy of the title of Elite, then she’d gladly serve under him should he ever take the throne or become a commander. Until then, he was a worthless, weak, half-breed not worthy of the royal blood flowing through his veins.
“So, what, is this how Saiyans are raised? You beat them until they get stronger?! What kind of logic is that?! Yes, I get one needs to push themselves past their limits to get to higher platforms, I’ve done it myself several times, but that? That’s nothing more than abuse!” Toma shouted out. He couldn’t afford to let this woman be right. He couldn’t let her win. Not yet.
“Yes, that is exactly it! Now shut up and defend yourself, fool!” Apla replied, charging at him. Toma took on a fighting stance, his hair flashing gold and his eyes flashing light blue for a moment, as he stepped to the side as she passed him. Her eyes widened, and he brought his knee up to her stomach, stopping her assault mid-flight, as he then grabbed her tail, spinning her around and throwing her back to the other side of the room. She slammed against the wall, as the power that had surged through Toma faded, and he was panting, falling to his knees.
She gripped her stomach, standing back up slowly while leaning against the wall. She stared at him with a look of shock on her face. “That power…” She thought for a moment. “That’s the same power that Akassa has… but he can’t control it yet, can he?” She thought, before smirking. “Good! Now stand and fight, Toma!” She spoke, as she got into another stance, ready for round 2.
