A Strange Calling, A Hurried Journey.
Night time had fallen over the secretive little island Ethan now thought of as home, not so much as his boat, but home none the less. All of the friends he'd made in the recent months lived here at least part time and everyone else who lived on the island were like an extended family, all working towards the same goal. The evening was cool and calm as the stars twinkled brightly in the sky, one perhaps brighter then the others. Ethan however was neither cool nor calm, his sleep was restive, the teen tossed and turn in his bed aboard his boat, moored at the town docks. the blue haired boy's dreams were wracked with images of the day Central City was destroyed, of a strange green man with antennae and wrinkled skin and then finally his brother. Kit's part in this monstrosity of a nightmare was the most vivid, set against the backdrop of the city being destroyed in ultra slow motion, Ethan's older brother appeared to him, as the boy always preferred to remember him, whole, both eyes, no scars and dressed in an immaculate white gee. The older blonde said nothing at first, just gazed worriedly at his young brother, as if he was aware of the backdrop he's been set against. Ethan tried to speak within the dream but nothing happened, he couldn't even utter Kit's name, all he could do was stand there as the massive fireball backlighting his brother slowly consumed the cityscape. It felt like an eternity as Ethan watched his older brother stare back at him, but finally the older male did something. Turning around, Kit gazed up at the slowly expanding fireball raised his hand towards it and at once the massive sphere of death morphed into a beautiful green planet. The city faded away and the two were in space above that world. Turning back to his younger brother, Kit's deep voice spoke the word 'Namek', although his lips never moved. He was smiling though now, a soft, reassuring smile and then began to walk on the nothingness separating the two. Once he was within arms length of Ethan, Kit placed his hands on the boy's shoulders an that 'I'm your older brother, I know more then you' kind of way and finally spoke using his lips.
"Go there. Find Pitka. Or else it will all happen again."
And in that instant the green world was replaced by the horrendous explosion that had devastated the city and this time it moved in real time. Ethan's frozen form and Kit's were consumed in an instant and at that moment the boy woke back in the real world screaming. The dream had been so real, so horrifying that he wasn't sure where he was when he sat up in his bed aboard his boat. The darkened surroundings were so alien to him that he kicked off his covers, feeling some instinctive revulsion, as if they were some smothering inhuman monster, and literally leapt out of the bed. Stumbling with his greater then average strength sent the teen right though his cabin door and into the hallway where he dropped to his knees and wrapped his hands arms around himself. He felt hot and cold at the same time, frightened chilled running up his spine and even a little nauseous. He sat for a while, minutes, maybe quarter of an hour as he realized where he was but unable to shake the complete vividness of the experience he'd just had. That was no dream, nor was it a nightmare, he'd had nightmares before and this was something different. The name, Pitka was not something he'd ever heard before and yet the vision, if that's what it was, had presented it clearly to him. Likewise Namek was only a planet he'd heard of in passing and never bothered to look up, yet the vision had presented the planet to him in such detail that he could even remember the contours of the landmasses and the speckled blotched of white settlements. The boy spent the next half hour looking the planet up and was shocked to find that it was exactly as he'd seen, every landmass, ever lake, every town, even the strange green people.
What was he to do? They had a massive operation coming up that would take all of his attention to coordinate, but at the same time this calling from beyond the stars was too powerful to ignore. There was only one thing that could settle the matter for him and that was to go there and see if the Pitka really existed. but time was the issue, Ethan could not devote days or even a week to such a journey, not it would have to be fast or not at all. Looking at the clock on his computer, the boy noted the late hour, but he couldn't sleep again, not after that 'dream.' No, he had to find out if there was a way to make the trip and make it quickly He knew Zero had a ship and it was likely the android would be awake, Ethan wasn't sure the robotic man ever slept or recharged, for that mater he'd never seen him eat either. Making the journey from his boat to Zero's ship, Ethan found the android right where he expected to find him, practicing in the simulator room in the hand to hand combat that the boy had shown him. The two spoke at length that evening and in the course of their discussion, the blue haired boy learned that Zero's ship could make the journey in far less time then the teen had imagined possible. The trip to Namek was possible and after some more discussion, Ethan was left alone aboard the craft. Zero had shown him what he needed to so that Ethan could operate the vehicle and then had programmed in the course to and back from Namek with the option to detour to the moon if it was necessary, although Ethan for the life of him couldn't figure out why he'd want to go there alone. And so the blue haired teen strapped himself in to the command chair as the ship's computer did all of the work, starting the vehicle's power plant, running the engines up to power and performing all preflight checks. Once the machine was satisfied that it was operating correctly, the vessel blasted off, lifting up into the night sky in a brilliant ball of glowing plasma. The trip would take a mere twelve hours with this ship's incredible propulsion system. Zero had explained that there were upgrades for even greater speed available which was even more astounding but the fact that he could make the trip there and back in a single day was enough for Ethan, he'd spend twenty four hours in transit and another twenty four on the planet. If he hadn't found this Pitka in that time he'd depart once more for Earth as time could not be wasted.
{Traveling to Namek thanks to Zero graciously loaning me his ship. Departure time ~10:00PM October 10th. Arrival time ~10:00 AM October 11th.}
{Applying for Power Level Increase. My weights are in effect.}
