With the large cruiser parked safely in the hangar and a platoon of soldiers lying just beyond the ramp waiting for a single thread to emerge. If someone was that stupid they would face the wrath of fifty elite Saiyan soldiers ready to die for their King and Queen. That sort of display of power certainly attracted a great deal of attention from the inhabitants of Alpha Prime for either out of sheer awe or out of fear of what would become of the King’s arrival. As he descended from the colossal carrier the Saiyan noticed the crowd and inhaled deeply.
“Why nervous my husband? Surely no one could hurt you in this crowd.” The Queen asked as she followed closely behind. She was always observant of her husband for his own good and that of the growing Saiyan race. Sometimes he did not have the will to get his hands dirty and as such those tasks fell squarely on her shoulders.
“These fools could not hope to harm me. However whoever this Promethesus Zex is I have cause for concern on his actions. He has fought Artic, the King of the Icejin and one of our oldest threats, to a standstill. If he can do such a thing, he is a person I must keep my eyes on very closely. Being here on his own ground gives him the advantage. That is what concerns me.” Tsuyo stated as he made his way in between the two rows of soldiers.
“Surely he is not that great. All the things we hear are rumors.” The Queen stated assuming complete faith in her intelligence network. She doubted that this Zex person was as devious and powerful as they had heard.
“My point exactly. All I have heard of him is rumors. Nothing concrete. We need to find out some information as if it were yesterday my darling.” Tsuyo stated with a slight sincere tone to it at the end. If there was anyone in the crowd of power or importance they would have to make themselves known. To have a free audience with the King of the Saiyans, they best make the most of the opportunity.

One of the few days that he had gotten a full night's sleep, which put him into a rather good mood for the day. Stretching his arms over his head, he walked through the streets of the space station known as Alpha Prime. It was here that he overheard a conversation between two people, ones that were surrounded by guards. They prevented him from seeing the pair but not from hearing what they were saying and the last comment from the woman caused a raised eyebrow.
"Excuse me, hate to interrupt, but hearing that thing of someone not being impressive cause there are only rumors isn't a smart move," he started. While most might have used a bit more tact with their words, he wasn't one to cherry pick words. Instead he spoke his mind straightforward, letting whoever was offended by them be offended. Of course, even if he had known to whom he was speaking, he would not have used different words. His own beliefs were not something that would be changed based on who someone was in a world.
"The moment you underestimate your enemy is the moment you lose," he finished, starting to walk passed the guards. He'd only want to pass on that little tip, maybe it would help things or not. Hopefully, they wouldn't use his words as a means to start a fight, Conri wasn't stupid he could sense energy. He knew he was outclassed massively and would only wind up hurt if something broke out. The bad news was he wouldn't back down even if he was overwhelmed.

The person slipped past the guards to the panic of the captain who attempted to intercept him before getting to the royal family but Tsuyo waved him off with a slight motion of his hand. The captain looked nervous for a moment looking at the new arrival but then begrudgingly returning to his position. Tsuyo took a step forward in between the stranger and his wife. If this was going turn violent it was with the King of the Saiyans that would go to battle. The stranger was very well built and possessed an impressive power level for someone outside of the elite of Vegeta. Though what fascinated him most was the tail that whipped back and forth behind him. It was one of a Saiyan but he did not wear the traditional outfit of one of his citizens which only meant he did not recognize the crown as the Saiyan authority over the small but ever growing race.
“You best hold your tongue boy. Do you realize who you are talking to you?” Tsuyo spoke in a tone that that was stern but not in an angry manner rather in one that commanded respect. Tsuyo made sure that Natisha was properly in between the two of them. Suddenly though he felt a hand on his shoulder. He glanced backwards to see Natisha push past him with a caring smile.
“Now now Tsuyo. Perhaps the young man has a point. After all he is a sensible Saiyan. The moment we truly underestimate someone is the moment in a war that it turns against you. Maybe we should put more credence in the rumors,” Natisha said as she took in the young man. Her eyes were studying him carefully as she tried to figure out whether or not he could somehow prove to be useful to her and the throne. “Such as the rumors that Promethesus Zex is twelve feet tall, has five heads and eats little children. Surely the young man is correct.” She quipped at the end. Tsuyo shot her a dirty look at the final comment as she showed briefly the elitist side of his wife.

It seemed that the guards had been taken off-guard by his presence and were trying to come after him, only to be stopped. The man had stepped forward, positioning himself between and the woman that was there. They seemed rather on edge with him, but there really wasn't a need for it, not like he was going to attack someone he didn't know. Still, he could understand the man's ideals a bit, he held up his hands though to show that he had no intention of fighting.
"Nope, haven't got a clue who either of you are. Then again, I tend not to pay attention to things like that. People are people regardless of who they are," he shrugged slightly. There was no difference to him, but that would probably irk others that saw themselves as being of a higher standard or whatnot. Still, better to be honest about things than to try and feign that he really even cared about such a thing. It wasn't like he'd meant to start a whole debate or anything, but then the woman decided to speak to him.
At first, it seemed that she was going to take the smart route and not underestimate the person. Then, she took a drive down stupid street and made a comment about believing the rumors that had been spread. "Well, you can go ahead and do what you'd like with the rumors. I never met the guy, so I couldn't say one way or the other what he's actually like," he started. She wanted to act like she was better, he would just show that she was being a rather large idiot instead.
"I don't take rumors at anything more than a grain of salt, but I also don't assume people aren't much just because they only have rumors about them. That's a rather dumb way to think about potential enemies," he stated, this time being a bit more obvious with his meaning as well. As far as he was concerned the woman could be the queen of the universe and he still wouldn't hold much respect for her. Respect was earned in his mind. "Now, if you take the facts of what you do know, you see a formidable person. Let me give you a rundown of what the facts are," his tone wasn't sarcastic, but rather the same informative tone.
"You have the ruler of a space station that's been around for who knows how long, right? It's filled to the brim with criminals, malcontents, and all those fun types of people. The fact that none of the people that live here have gotten anything solid enough to use against the leader doesn't strike you as odd?" this time the question was directed towards them both. There was no such thing as a criminal that didn't want to overthrow who was on top to take that spot for himself. Conri knew better than that, if anything it showed him how good the person that ran this place actually was.

Tsuyo let out a bellow of a laugh as he saw the wit of the young man that stood in front of him. Natisha would be none too pleased at the quip but he figured his wife would be able to survive the little barb that had been tossed her way. After all she had been doing the political waltz for a very long time and was used to dancing around questions and barbs regarding his daughter Akassa. He cared for her dearly but he knew when she needed to receive the attack. Often times she would get carried away and speak on his behalf despite it often being against his will. One of the few rocks in a royal wedding.
“Why you…” Natisha growled as she took another step closer to the man. Tsuyo’s hand immediately shot out and grabbed his wife’s should immediately stopping her in her tracks. Her eyes wheeled around and met his with fiery rage. He simply remained calm and his eyes seemed to eat the rage from her heart. She took a deep breath before closing her eyes and opening them again. “Very well. I will let you deal with him. I am far from in the mood to deal with low lives.”
“You will be fine. You have handled much worse in the halls of our palace.” Tsuyo whispered to his wife before turning his attention to the blue haired man. “I believe introductions are necessary before we continue to engage in this little verbal war of ours. My name is Tsuyo Hattori, Lord of the Saiyans and King of New Vegeta. You have already engaged in a little back and forth with my wife, Natisha, who as you might have guessed is Queen of New Vegeta.” Tsuyo stated confidently. He could care less about whether or not the man recognized his authority because even if he didn’t and he made the mistake of attacking him. The King would kill the man before he even knew what happened.
“You are correct. I do respect his power and the fact that he has not released any information he did not want before this tournament. This is part of the reason why I have arrived on Alpha Prime. I fully intend to learn more about Prometheus Zex. And I am looking for people to help my children do that very job exactly,” Tsuyo stated in a tone that left it open to the man to possibly become enlisted in the ranks of the Saiyan King’s service.

Well, the good thing about this was that he was entertaining the guy who seemed to be the one in charge. That was a good sign, maybe they had a chance of getting along quite well an extra boon especially now. He was still trying to recover from that powerful psychokinetic blast of his, last thing he needed was another fight. Not that it would be a fight so much as a massacre of Conri, given the difference in their power levels. The woman, however, he doubted he would get along with at all. She just seemed a bit too full of herself, the way she kept trying to talk down to others.
The woman stepped forward as if to try and attack him for just stating things honestly. That was something that he would keep a note of in the back of his mind; it could come in handy later on. When her husband settled her down, the Half-Saiyan had to admit he was a bit impressed simply for the fact of how much control he had over things. Not many people could claim they were in control of situations, but he seemed to handle it rather well overall. Granted, the woman still decided it was necessary to call him a low life for proving that she was wrong in her assumptions. Ah well, such was the way of those with egos.
He turned to the man since it was going to be a conversation between the two of them now, and finally learned who they both were. The man was the King of New Vegeta and the woman was the Queen, not surprising about the latter really. “Nice to meet you both, I’m Conri Lane,” he offered his hand to the Tsuyo. He had no reason to attack him, possibly a reason to try and talk to him alone a bit later on, but that would wait to be seen. The Half-Saiyan wanted to learn a bit more about what kind of man Tsuyo was first before he decided anything for sure.
“Exactly, he’s someone who deserves both respect and caution. As for the gathering information from him, that seems like it would take a lot of work. How are your children working to gather the information?” he had heard the tone, and knew it meant possibility. However, he needed more information on what the plan was before he got too involved. “Although, if you need help I could offer my services, but I have a few terms I’d need to work out with you,” he was fine with working for someone. Just so long as there was a basis for the relationship and what would be expected from both sides. He wasn’t stupid enough to get himself into a situation that was disadvantageous to him, that was counterproductive to his own goals for the future.
“Would you mind if we talked in private regarding the arrangements? We can still be within eyesight if you’re worried about me trying to get you on your own, but I’ve got no reason to have a grudge against you anyways,” he shrugged slightly. If he didn’t trust Conri, then they could stay within view, but he’d prefer to talk to him in private regarding the terms if Tsuyo wanted to employ him.

“Would you mind if we talked in private regarding the arrangements? We can still be within eyesight if you’re worried about me trying to get you on your own, but I’ve got no reason to have a grudge against you anyways,”[/b] Conri Lane asked. Instantly Tsuyo saw the fear shoot through the guard’s face that originally tried to stop Conri on his approach towards the royal family. Tsuyo couldn’t help but let out a slight chuckle as he turned to his wife. She shot him a knowing look and instantly Tsuyo turned back to the Conri.
“Very well. Lead the way. Be warned though if you try anything then you will experience a most excruciating death. Lead the way.” Tsuyo commanded causing the guard to cringe. If he had his way he would have had Conri killed on approach towards the King and Queen. Natisha however was rather pleased with the idea. She leaned over and whispered into his ear.
“Extort him to do the crown’s will. Figure out a way to get him to spy on Zex and to do our bidding in the future.” The Queen of Vegeta spit with poison in each word. Her hatred for the young blue haired man was very evident but even she knew that he may be useful in some way. Tsuyo broke away from his wife and followed Conri Lane to a more secluded spot where they would be out of ear shot of any of the entourage.
“So what would it take to have you work for me?” The King said bluntly. His wife was the one that loved to dance around subjects. Tsuyo on the other hand felt that he best came across with his message when he was blunt as rock.

It seemed that his words had gotten everyone's attention, apparently it was a big deal to want to discuss terms in private. He supposed it was caution, but he pretty much told them that he wasn't going to do anything. They all needed to unwind a bit, at least the King seemed to understand that there wasn't much need for drama. Although, that threat seemed a bit unnecessary as well, ah well people would do what they felt was needed.
Nodding his response, he walked a bit away from the group, so that they would be out of earshot from Tsuyo and Conri. It would be better that they both be able to agree on the terms, but Conri was prepared for the event if Tsuyo didn't. Tsuyo was a bit like him it seemed, not really one to beat around the bush for a discussion. He supposed he like that about the King, but business was business and they were here for that purpose.
"I'll get right to the point. I have no intention of becoming an indentured servant, I just want to make that clear up front. My terms are that if hired would be for this mission and this one only, when you have information regarding Zex the contract is up. If I deliver the information myself, I get paid and if not, then don't worry about it. I only take orders from you as that avoids conflicts of interest, no offense to you, but just from talking I can tell there isn't always agreement," he figured it was the best phrasing to use. These were just the main things he would need before taking on any assignment from the King of Saiyans.
"Not having me as part of your forces is better for you anyways, if I get captured, you have plausible deniability. I'm not part of your soldiers and entourage, therefore I don't work for you and if I'm captured, it means you can say I am not a part of your forces," he figured that would be an extra bonus to the fact of him not being recruited into the Saiyan army. Something he had no real interest in, in the first place really.

Conri definitely was smart as he already seemed to position himself into a fashion where the Saiyan King would be stupid not to accept such a deal. However as he sensed the young warrior's potential it was hard to deny the urge to try and recruit him for an extended period of time as he would make an excellent asset if there was ever to be a war. His children could not do all the heavy lifting by themselves. So while his first instinct was to say yes to the proposal he could not let the young man completely dictate the stipulations of the agreement. He was the King after all, his word was law.
"While everything that you say is highly tempting. I want to counter offer you. Your status of working for me and the Vegetan army remains a secret so if you get caught you receive no acknowledgement as you stated. However I want you to not only receive orders from me but also my wife. On top of that I wish to retain the right to continue our little deal for further compensation in order to keep up to date on Zex's movements." The King countered. He wouldn't see why this wasn't a reasonable and acceptable deal. The only thing that may have the deal on a hang up was the fact that he would have to take orders from the Queen. And based off of their initial encounter things probably would not fair better.
"I do not see a problem with this deal as it greatly benefits both of us. I get the information I need and you receive reasonable compensation for it." The King said as he let his power slowly rise. It was not something that he did on purpose but rather something unconsciously that he did when he was trying to broker a deal. By no means was it a way of actively trying to intimidate him.

He figured that the deal he presented would be something that couldn't be passed up for the sake that it covered everything. It seemed that it wasn't exactly what the King wanted however, but Conri needed to make sure he had a way to keep himself independent. The one thing that was absolute was that he had a way to keep from being put under the permanent employment of the Saiyan empire. In fact, he wouldn't want permanent employment under any actual empire, he wanted to be a freelancer. That way the rules he followed would be his own, rather than those of someone else, who he might just not agree with.
"While that sounds nice, the compensation isn't why I am in this business. Strange, I know, but I work on a more professional level and also a more free one. If I were to take orders from your wife, I'd have to add under the stipulation that nothing she orders is detrimental towards me or the mission as well as no menial task that a soldier would be given. Finally, I would need to retain the right to end the deal at any time that I see fit as a means to make sure I can walk when the job is done or if I feel something isn't right," it wasn't so much he didn't like the Saiyans. The issue was, he wasn't under anyone person's rule, and he had no intention of changing that. The moment he could afford a ship, he would be mostly keeping to space as it was and taking jobs through there.
"The most important thing to me is not compensation, it's maintaining my freedom as a professional freelancer. Otherwise, there's no point in me doing this in the first place. I get hired for a job, I do the job, I get paid, and I walk away at the end with the deal completed. That's how I operate," it was a simple thing, but important all the same. One of the most basic things in the universe really, and it was something treated with little thought to its importance. That or it was given up without someone fully understanding it.

This Conri Lane was a smart man and knew exactly how to structure a deal that would suit both parties interests. It only took one round of back and forth which was great for the Saiyan King who was happy to get on with the business of tracking down his children. Sure enough they had made it deep into the tournament and were close to winning it and bringing home the title for the Hattori family. Tsuyo glanced over to his wife who would be disgusted with the fact that negotiations occurred so quickly and that the Saiyan King had not gotten every single thing he wanted leaving Conri in a much more compromised position.
"It sounds like a deal I can live with. My wife probably wouldn't agree but she is not the one making the deal so she will have to live with it," Tsuyo laughed with a deep bellow that seemed to resonate within his chest. He was a strange man that few could accurately read which made him one of strongest kings the Saiyans had sat on the throne in three generations. While it was customary to shake hands with someone you had just struck a deal with the Saiyan King found it beneath him. It was one of the few times he did adhere to the royalty above all else motto. Something Conri Lane would have to deal with. Before turning away however he posed a question that had been picking at the back of his mind.
"I do have to ask you a question. I see your Saiyan tail, however you do not wear armor or the Saiyan Empire's emblem. Meaning you are either a half Saiyan from Earth or defector of the empire, which is right?" Conri would have to be careful on which he chose as Tsuyo despised defectors and would not hesitate to have him thrown in chains to be dragged back to New Vegeta.

The King of New Vegeta was certainly not like he expected, not that it was entirely bad. That begged the question of what was going on with everything he heard, maybe he could use this chance as a means to learn more. If he worked with the Royal Family to gather information on Zex, he could likely gather more information on their customs and the like. For now though, they both seemed to be able to reach a compromise that they were both able to live with. Neither having a true advantage over the other, which was what he really liked as most others would try to make it so only they could benefit. He had to respect the King for being different than that.
"I'm glad we can come to an agreement then, and I'll try my best to not make her any angrier than she likely already is with me," he was glad that the King had such an honest side to him. It was refreshing really, but he knew that they were now in a professional agreement and he would act that way as well. Keeping the snide remarks in check would likely be a really tough job though if today was an example. Still, he would at least keep it to a minimum if anything, but at least this way she couldn't order him to do whatever. That was the one main thing he wanted to make sure of if he had to take orders from her.
"I'm a Half-Saiyan from Earth," he stated, his tone carrying pride. While pure Saiyans might not think much of hybrids, he was proud of both side of his heritage. There wasn't anyone that could make him think differently about it, not even the King of New Vegeta, if he had an issue with it.

A half saiyan just like his daughter. That was interesting. He met very few half saiyans normally and then add to the fact that he was so strong. Surely this Conri Lane would be an interesting one to keep an eye on and to make sure that he would not prove to be a bigger problem than he was probably worth. With a huff the Saiyan king began to walk away from Conri Lane as he started to head back towards his wife. This conversation was over and there was no need to carry on with pointless small talk he had to go find his children and make sure that they were still winning the tournament and bringing honor to the Hattori family name.
"Good. It means that I don't have to haul you back in chains. Conri Lane I wish you luck if you are competing in the tournament." The Saiyan King said as he got further and further away from the young half saiyan who could one day determine the fate of a war if he so chose. His wife hated him for his snide comments while he saw the potential of a great warrior and ally. "Make a point of meeting my daughter young man. She is also a half saiyan of great power. Perhaps you two could have a good fight." The Saiyan King laughed.
As he approached his wife again she shot him a disappointed look. No doubt it was from the fact that Conri Lane was still in one piece. It was rather attractive how assertive someone can be and how aggressive at that. "Is a deal made that will benefit the crown and for the greater good of the entire Saiyan race?" The queen snipped at her husband.
"I would not make a deal of any other caliber. Now let's go find our children and see if they have brought honor to the Hattori name," Tsuyo commanded as he led the way followed by a platoon of soldiers and his wife.

With their business finished, he supposed that they didn't have a whole lot to talk about anymore. So, it was probably best that they go their separate ways now, especially since he new the queen didn't like him. Not that she tried to hide it really, that was somewhat annoying to say the least. Still, the King seemed like a decent enough guy from what he could tell, which just led to more questions. Those would have to wait until later, however, as right now it was a good time to head their separate ways.
"Yeah, I'm in the tournament and planning to win it as well," there was no point in coming if he didn't try to win it. Although, the next thing the King said was somewhat interesting, he wanted Conri to meet with Akassa. That wasn't a usual statement, but then again the King seemed to not be a usual man either. "Will do, I'll find her and see about having a bit of a spar," that was something that he planned to do anyways really. He had meant to on their first meeting, but that hadn't gone quite as planned as he had hoped.
Turning to walk the other way, it was time for him to start working on his mission then. He would be looking for information on Zex in every nook and cranny of this planet, he had a few ideas of where to search as well. Plus it might be funny to let Akassa know that he would be working with the Royal Family, searching for information. He could only imagine the expression that she would show, then again maybe that was just him being hopeful. He enjoyed exaggerated reactions from people.
Turning the corner, he was soon gone from the area where the King and Queen had been. His mission had begun, so it was time to get into a serious frame of mind, and see what he could dig up. [exit/PL please~]
