Banduk had just arrived on New Namek less than an hour prior, and hastily made his way to the house of his trusted master. Telepathic communication was always an option when speaking with Pitka, of course, but Banduk preferred to speak in person during times like this. The advice Banduk was seeking from his master was of an important matter, and would affect the rest of his life. Zex's quest was an opportunity to grow and become stronger, and it was likely a time to gain valuable experience in decision-making and protecting others. Then again, having only just returned, Banduk wasn't sure if Pitka wanted yet another event getting in the way of his pupil's training. Not only that, but it was possible that Banduk would even die. And so, the green Warrior made his way to the Elder's house in order to receive any guidance the old Namekian might offer.
"Grand Elder Pitka, I've returned." the twelve-year-old Namekian stated as he landed atop the tall hill, on top of which rested the Grand Elder's humble abode. "I have news, as well." he followed up, wanting to tell his master all about the tournament itself, as well as the mission he'd received from Prometheus.

Three decks of cards went into this great challenge. What challenge you ask? The undertaking was to be Namek’s greatest house of cards ever. Again another question; why would the great and powerful Grand Elder of New Namek be building a giant house of cards? Well, you see, New Namek was a peaceful planet. Indeed, Pitka had seen far more battles during his journeys through the stars then he ever did safeguarding his home world.
“Ah, my masterpiece is almost complete, just the last two cards to create the final peak…”
Reaching as high as he could, and ever so careful to retain his balance, he prepared for ultimate satisfaction.
"Grand Elder Pitka, I've returned. I have news, as well."
Came a booming voice from outside, no doubt a way of declaring their presence. The sudden sound was completely unexpected, as he had a rare few visitors since his adopted son of sorts left to compete in the galactic tournament, and caused the elder namekian to lose his balance for but a split second. Instantly recovering, he let out a sigh of relief for the safety of his creation; however the gust of breath which left his lips was just enough to turn one card a centimeter.
Needless to say the 156 cards listlessly fell to the floors as Pitka’s sigh changed from one of relief to disappointment.
“Yes my son, come in.”
He said with a heavy heart as he began collecting the cards to begin again.

Banduk was pleased to hear his master's voice tell him to come into the household, though the delay was enough to make the pupil raise a brow. Pitka didn't normally have much to do at his home, and almost always detected Banduk before he arrived. This time, it was almost as if Pitka was concentrating on something heavily enough to completely miss the arrival of his student. Banduk wondered what was so important that it took Pitka's entire focus in order to contemplate. Still, the wise Grand Elder finally let his protege in, leading the younger Namekian to blink in confusion.
"Um... Greetings, master." Banduk said, shaking his head slightly before bowing it in respect. It figured that Pitka was focusing so hard in order to build a house of cards, but Gundu wouldn't judge the older Guardian. He was fully aware that his master was capable of much more than this, so he decided to... Just keep quiet.
"I've finally returned from the Galactic Tournament, as you can see. However, there is another matter I must discuss with you." he said, looking down at the cards now littering the floor. He considered practicing his telekinetic abilities to help pick them up, but he was unsure if Pitka would appreciate the help, or if the old man just wanted to do it himself. Still, the situation was a bit distracting. "I managed to fight my way to the semifinals, but I was bested by an Icejin by the name of Frigid. He fought honorably." the young Warrior said to his teacher.

(Apologies for the wait.)
"Um... Greetings, master."
The initial look of confusion, coupled by Banduk’s shaking of his head, implied a certain disbelief and disapproval at the manner in which the Grand Elder spent his time. Pitka was well aware of his pupil’s feelings toward both himself and the position he held. He never addressed it as he felt that it his views would evolve as he matured. Gundu was wound too tight, just like his father at his age. Thus he had faith his adopted son would bloom, much as Banduk Gundu the first had done many years ago. After all, a Grand Elder’s job was to inspire his people just as much as to protect them. Inspire them to find happiness in life and to enjoy the little things.
“Greetings my child! I sensed your return though I did not expect you to arrive so quickly from Piccolo City’s spaceports. It appears you have become even more powerful than I had foreseen.”
Hopefully he had found the will to fight; not just for honor but for joy. Holding out an open palm, the hundred fifty six cards leapt into his hand until he held a neatly packed ensemble of playing cards. In truth he could just as easily use his magic to form the house of cards, though that would defeat the point.
It was much like his tenure as Grand Elder; he could simply tap into New Namek’s lifestream and watch over his children from afar. Instead he had spent hundreds of years, both before and after taking the mantle of planetary guardian, connecting with the few thousand Namekians which resided on his peaceful planet. Learning their hopes; their dreams. In the time he had also been present for every birth; even that of his protégé.
"I've finally returned from the Galactic Tournament, as you can see. However, there is another matter I must discuss with you. I managed to fight my way to the semifinals, but I was bested by an Icejin by the name of Frigid. He fought honorably."
A matter to discuss with him? Pitka need not think but a moment before the mystery revealed itself; surely he was eager to return to the stars. He was much like his father after all; Gundu I had fallen in love with their journeys into the unknown. The Grand Elder had been right there beside his student’s predecessor as they traversed the stars. It was the Grand Pilgrimage, a necessity to any who wished to one day become Grand Elder.
“Ducky, you insult me! To think I would not keep a close eye on my prized student?”
Gesturing to a corner of the small house, Banduk would notice an impossibly large television, satellite dish and surround sound speakers jutting out of the undersized garbage cans in ridiculous fashion.
“I must say, I was quite impressed by this Frigid’s behavior; a glorious improvement over the evil tyrant which destroyed our ancestral home. Needless to say, I am very proud of how you represented New Namek, you were a great champion for our people, and you should not feel any less pride for having lost. There is no wrong in losing a well fought match to an honorable opponent. “
Taking a step towards Gundu, the Elder gave his adopted son a great hug, lifting the poor boy off his feet and giving a tight squeeze. Banduk was never really the “touchy feely type,” however his master was quite the hugger. Could you blame him? His protégé had achieved so much throughout the course of the tournament. Releasing him, he looked to his student’s eyes and smiled happily.
“Now tell me my son, what is it you wish to discuss? Are you to lunge back out into the vastness? Surely after the small taste the universe had of you it desires more!”
He exclaimed, followed by a hearty laugh as he knelt down to recommence the painstakingly slow process of building the Grand Elder House of Cards.

After hearing Pitka's comment regarding how powerful Banduk had become over the course of his trip, the younger Namekian just chuckled. "I suppose so." he said, flexing his muscles slightly to himself as he looked down, once again reminded of his stronger figure. The battle experience and power gain he'd received, coupled with his constant Warrior form, made for a surprisingly beefy build compared to when he'd left. He was considerably stronger, likely able to best most Namekians in combat. Of course, the higher-up Warrior Clan members would still give him a thorough beating, but that was to be expected.
In response to Pitka's insistence that he'd kept a close eye on Banduk, the pupil looked over with a blink of his eyes, raising a brow at the rather... Modern rig his master had set up. It was certainly far more advanced than anything the people of the Old Ways were used to. Banduk listened on to his master as the old man spoke of his student's accomplishments, followed by a tight hug. The explanation of Banduk's pride was something the pupil himself had already contemplated on his own. It was a tough pill to swallow after being defeated, but after a good meditating, he was ultimately glad to have lost the way he did.
Despite not being the type to enjoy such displays of affection, Banduk cracked a smile at the embrace given to him. It seemed a bit improper to him... But it also made him proud, in a way. Not every Namekian could claim to be hugged like this by the Grand Elder... Well, come to think of it, a lot of villagers actually might... But that was beside the point.
"Well... Sort of." Banduk said with a calm expression as he prepared to explain just what it was he was contemplating. Seeing his master playing with cards seemed to have an effect on Banduk, who idly pointed a finger at one particular card, attempting to levitate it while he went on. He wouldn't admit it, but Pitka's enjoyment of life's finer joys definitely rubbed off on his student from time to time. "The lord of Alpha Prime, Prometheus Zex - the one from the recording - has offered me a task." he said before going on to explain everything he knew about the mission. The other members, the objective, and the risk of danger. It took a couple of minutes, but Banduk soon arrived at his inquiry. "You see... I'm not entirely sure I can trust Zex. I don't know very much about him, of course. This mission could potentially put my life in danger, and I can't say I'm eager to put it all on the line for someone who might not be completely honest with me." he explained with a slight frown.

The Grand Elder has listened intently as his pupil spoke of his situation in detail, remaining silent so as to best listen. Meanwhile, he had begun to rebuild the massive house of cards and was to the size of an ‘average’ one by the time he finished. Not that it he wasn’t paying attention; in fact focusing on menial tasks such as this and gardening actually helped him focus. It was when he did his greatest thinking.
“It is a harrowing decision to make indeed, young Gundu.”
Standing up to take a moment and appreciate what he had completed so far, he faced the twelve year old Namekian warrior. There was eagerness in his eyes; one Pitka had long wished would surface. However, it was held in check by his cautious ways. This was by no means a bad thing, though it proved a hindrance in those ‘leap of faith’ situations.
“I saw little of this ‘Prometheus’ which I am sure was by design. He appears mysterious because it is his intention. I understand how this can be discerning for you; how can you trust someone who you know so little about? And, furthermore, who is not very forthcoming of his plans and goals?”
Sizing up his protégé, Pitka remarked internally that he was a capable warrior, more so now than ever. There were far stronger beings stalking the vastness of the cosmos however, and the Grand Elder worried for ‘his boy’s’ safety. He knew, despite his fatherly objections, that he was ready to strut out amongst the stars.
“I have no doubt in your abilities, only fear for your safety. That being said, you are a both strong and wise for your age, and your cautiousness will prove helpful should you make the journey. Despite the shadiness of this ‘Zex,’ he will not be accompanying you on this mission. What of these fellow warriors? When striking out, one must be able to trust those beside him, as your father and I trusted one another during our pilgrimage. Are they trustworthy?”
It was a simple question, but in its answer would also lie the answer to Banduk’s predicament. Trust was everything after all; especially in a situation like this.

Banduk listened closely as his master summarized the student's concerns. With a nod, the young Gundu of Namek agreed. "My thoughts exactly." the younger of the two confirmed, glad that his teacher was so understanding of his dilemma. Banduk didn't even mind that Pitka was building the house of cards while they spoke. He was quite used to the elderly Guru engaging in seemingly useless tasks during their deeper conversations, and realized that the Grand Elder found a sort of quietness when his hands were busy in such a way. Banduk didn't like to think that he operated the same way, but failed to realize that he himself was still practicing his telekinetic technique with a single card, rotating it in mid air while he listened closely. If only he knew how much his master's mannerisms had rubbed off on him.
The Grand Elder went on to share his confidence with the boy's ability, only feeling concerned with the danger of the situation in general. The wise old Namekian then pointed out something that made Banduk blink. The importance of his comrades. Banduk had already known how crucial teamwork was in situations such as this, but up until now, he had taken it upon himself to feel responsible for the mission. He wanted to master the healing technique, and he wanted to be sure of his own safety. That's why he came to see his master in the first place. He knew now, however, that the burden of this mission wasn't his alone to bear.
"... I believe my comrades will be quite trustworthy indeed." Banduk said with a small smile. "The champion of the tournament and so-called 'strongest in the galaxy' will be on the mission, as well as Frigid, the opponent that defeated me. I would trust him with my life." Banduk said, looking down as he let out a small chuckle. "Zex might be full of lies and deceit, but I know that if I must face peril, I won't be doing so alone." he said with a grin as he looked up at his master.
Banduk was growing in humility and wisdom every day.

Zex might be full of lies and deceit, but I know that if I must face peril, I won't be doing so alone."
As the pupil spoke, the Master listened intently, steadying his mind upon the simple task at hand. From the corner of his eye he saw Banduk smile and even chuckle. These were rare things for the teenager; Pitka raised the boy from an egg and had seldom seen such things, always so stern and rigid. Perhaps he was rubbing off on Gundu? A feeling reassured when the Elder saw him moving the card.
“So the Champion and runner up of the Galactic Tournament will be among your group? If those are but a few names then I dare say you will be with capable allies. And this Frigid you trust with your life huh? That is the rarest of all friendships, cherish it my son. I share your worry for Prometheus however I trust in your instinct and ability to handle yourself.”
It seemed obvious know that this Zex had created the tournament for the purpose of finding these warriors, but to what purpose? In truth, he was not alright with his protégé joining this mission, but he knew he could not keep him. He could not watch over and protect him any longer. Banduk had reached manhood and his Grand Pilgrimage was only just beginning. Standing to his feet and turning to his pupil the Grand Elder would match his smile. With a sudden swish of his finger through the air, the house of cards leapt into perfect formation.
“Then I suppose the only real question to ask, young Ducky, is when and where does this mission begin?”
