They had set off from Alpha Prime a few hours ago, their teams formed and each on board a different ship, making their way to the coordinates that had been given to them. It was finally time to see what was waiting for them; would it be friend or foe? It was hard for him to decide if he was nervous or excited, a swirl of emotions rushing through him as they neared closer to the target location. There was also the thrill of traveling to a part of the universe that had been uncharted, which meant they would be some of the first people to do so with their own eyes; one of the reasons Conri wanted a ship of his own. His mind drifted towards the transponder that King Tsuyo had given him and still contemplated on whether he would be using it or not, it was a hard decision to make overall. For the moment he let his emotions swirl as they would, but focused his mind on just piloting the ship, something that he had become quite fond of over the last few days. He could use it to calm down the torrent of feelings and maintain a calm demeanor for however much longer this flight would last them.
Making some slight adjustments to the steering, he made sure that they were on course before leaning back into the seat and relaxing a bit, he could rest for a bit with the course set. He didn't leave the pilot's seat though unless he needed to do some emergency path alterations; like getting out of the way of an asteroid. Looking out the window he smirked to himself at the majesty of it all, here people were constantly acting like they were big and bad, but this was the biggest thing around. It helped to keep his own pride in-check as well, since the last thing he needed was to start getting arrogant about his own power at this point. It wouldn't be too much longer before they arrived thankfully, so there wouldn't be too much going on between now and then. Unless the universe just wanted to be a jerk and throw something at them just to do it. Hitting the button for the intercom, he spoke into the microphone for the other two to hear.
"We're approaching the coordinates, you guys might want to come take a look at this," he figured it would be good for them all to see what they were about to get into now. That way everyone could make an informed decision if it was needed, he wondered how the people on the other ship were doing as well. The nagging feeling that he should have done more training was in the back of his mind, but there was probably nothing that he could do about it now. He just hoped that the worse expectations weren't the ones that would be coming true.

William wandered the halls of the spaceship Champion. It was a remarkable vessel, and the boy felt a spark of envy for not having won it. He knew he probably could never have defeated the other competitors but he could dream the dreamer’s dream. One day I too will have a ship, and will fly my family around the universe. Once the mission was finished, Zex promised his mother cured and, for them all, a hefty sum. Finally he could take her and his darling sister away from the hell hole that was the Omega Collective. Being so far from them now, and feeling the distance ever increasing, he took solace that the strongest beings in this sector of space, Prometheus and Wrath, stood guard over them.
His mind was in constant flux however. So much had happened, and was happening, that he could not find a moment of peace. Even among the hallowed halls of the spaceship, he heard the internal echoes of his demons. One did not so easily come to grips with learning that they are part of a maniacal majin, birthed for destruction and power. Since his body inadvertently absorbed the device containing all the remaining files on this majin’s creation, he had slowly sifted through the files, hoping to find something that would ease his mind. None came.
"We're approaching the coordinates; you guys might want to come take a look at this."
Conri Lane’s voice crackled over the ship’s intercom. Taking a moment to get his bearings, as he had been wandering rather aimlessly, he then began walking towards the cockpit. He wondered if he had seen something strange, or dangerous, or if they were simply nearing their destination. Either way, it was only one of many things listing through his skull. He thought of the warm moments he shared with his family before departing.
William could almost see his mother in all her glory once more; healthy and vibrant. It made him smile, briefly, before his thoughts then turned to his deceased father. What would he think of all this? Then his new Master, Vespasian, and his teachings. Though he had not been training under him for long, Willie was always sure to make training on time, everyday. Hopefully, it will be enough. Ultimately, his mind circled back to the demon within.
Who was this soulless creature who had caused so much trouble, especially at the tournament, that wished to taint Watson’s pure soul? The rugged Gunny had called him a technarcana. Whatever that meant; the black box’s files were still a bit much for him to comprehend. Passing a mirror, he saw a trace of black out of his peripherals. Facing the reflective surface, he found the demonic visage of a black majin with needle like fangs and crimson eyes glaring back at him.
“I am ZASHAM!”
The reflection roared at the boy, unsettling him to the point that he fell backwards and landed on the metal flooring hard. It apparently preferred being called by it's name, even in inner dialogue. From the seated position he looked to his hands and felt his face; all human. Or rather, appeared human. Cautiously standing up he peered back into the mirror only to see his own terrified features. Holy hell, I must be losing it. Nonetheless, he quickened his pace to the front of this ship, all while avoiding anymore reflective surface.
“What is it Captain?”
He said, careful to hide his angst. As an agent of Zex, he would need to protrude his employer’s aura of power and authority. A meek young man would simply not suffice. Though he held no rank, Conri was still owner and pilot of the ship, so William deemed it only right to refer to him as captain; even if only out of respect.

Tip: If traveling through space at god knows how miles per hour do not look out one of the windows on the side of the ship. The result: the curled heaping mass that was the prodigy of the Muzai wrapped around one of the space ships toilets. Secondary tip: do not keep your head in a space toilet as you flush it. The result: having your face violent ripped down into the toilet with the feeling that your eyes were about to ripped out of his head. Kurosanai had made both mistakes, the first being caused by the fact that he had been bored out of his mind. The prodigy of the Muzai had originally said that he was going to bring a deck of cards with him to entertain himself but after being pestered by Izanami repeatedly over what had happened in the galactic tournament match he had forgotten to grab them before slipping into the night.
This trip was the perfect way for him to come back to the roots that he once found. He would return to being the hero that his people thought of him, the aura of invincibility had disappeared after being handed the loss by Frigid so thoroughly because of his arrogance thinking that he would be able to compete despite the unhealed injuries. He had vowed after that rousing loss that he would not take people who fought with blades lightly again. Kuro knew though that his aura had diminished when he returned to the compound during the break of the trip and this mission, even though people cheered and screamed there were eyes now in the crowd that doubted whether or not that Kurosanai was the prodigy that he had been heralded as for years. He heard the whispers when he was home, that if he was as a great as they had said that he would have dominated the tournament with ease. This only seemed to ratchet up the pressure that the other Muzai had placed on him as they tried to heighten their expectations of his emphatic return to be the shining star.
Kurosanai pulled his head out of the toilet and hit the button which dispersed his lunch out to the universe in a nice frozen spray. After doing so he leaned back and rested against the wall. There was nothing left in his stomach for motion sickness to claim. He let a sigh escape his lips as he thought of all the hopes and dreams that the clan had. ‘Why did all those hopes and dreams have to fall on my shoulders? I am just a kid. I want to live my life the way I see fit, not trying to meet anyone’s unreal expectations.’ Kurosanai lamented within his own mind.
”Because those that obtain power are molded out of two casts, the first being that they are driven by greed in attempt to claim what they want in the universe whether it be money or a position of power. The second is that of a person who does not want it, they loathe having it and want nothing more to escape it.” A voice said out of nowhere. Kurosanai smirked to himself, now space deliria had set in and he was now talking to himself.
’So which am I voice in my head?’
”That is for you to decide. No one else. I had to make that choice a long time ago myself, it is not easy and it will certainly bring enemies no matter which you choose.”
’What do you mean you had to choose a long time ago?’ Kurosanai asked but this time there was no answer. He was only by himself and as such was left to wonder what had happened. Was it space deliria or was he just talking with a ghost? If it was a ghost what had Conri Lane been doing on this ship that caused to have a ghost? It was brand new.
"We're approaching the coordinates, you guys might want to come take a look at this," Conri Lane’s voice crackled over the intercom. Speak of the devil and he shall arrive. Kurosanai gingerly picked himself up off the ground and glanced over to the mirror above the sink. The color had been drained from his face and he was pale as a ghost. Quickly he splashed some water on his face in an effort to try and bring some color back to himself before ducking into the hall.
The metal body of the ship was silent as his footsteps echoed throughout the compacted hall of the Champion’s ship. Conri had not left the cockpit of the ship the entire time of their voyage meanwhile the strange Willie Watson, a man that Kurosanai did not trust. There was just something about him that caused him to believe that he was going to prove to be trouble later on. The cause of his feelings towards Willie Watson? A gut feeling and the way his ki moved throughout his body. He had to put it out of his mind for now and focus on what was in front of him.
As he entered the cock pit Conri was in the same position that he had been left in, and Willie Watson right beside him. “What’s up? We able to see our target yet?” Kurosanai asked in complete informality.

Waiting patiently for the others to arrive he relaxed a bit in his seat letting the tension in his muscles subside a bit, he would need to stretch out a bit once they found a place to land. That or he would just let Marisa fly next so that he could wander around and let his body loosen up from having been in the same seat for several hours. Rubbing his shoulder some he tried to loosen the muscles up so that they wouldn't lock up on him if he needed to do some fast maneuvering to avoid anything. Switching arms he did the same to the other one before focusing on the monitors that were showing different angles outside the ship while keeping an eye on the main screen as well. It wouldn't be long now before they were within range of the coordinates that Zex had given them, and the anticipation of what was waiting for them was high. Was it going to be something violent or would it just be a broken ship with the crew waiting for some sort of rescue to come along?
Right now, he was giving either option a fifty-fifty chance of occurring simply because of Murphy's Law, but hopefully it wouldn't go too extreme with that either. Still, it would be a rather uneventful trip all the same if they had come out all this way just to give the exploration crew a jump. Glancing over his shoulder as he heard William enter first, he waited for Kurosanai to arrive before he went into the little bit of briefing that he would give them both. No point in saying the same thing twice, besides, they would all need to see what the situation was anyways might as well get that part over with here and now. "Not yet, Kurosanai," he started, figuring he would answer that question first to get it done.
"We are almost there, however, and it'd be better plus would save time if we all saw it at the same time. That way we can plan what we need to do right away, and I'm expecting the worst, so you may want to buckle in as well," he gave a heads up of his own expectations. His eyes continued to scan every monitor to catch sight of any attackers or just suspicious people in general, he'd rather not let his guard down with this job. There was still a lot that he could have done himself to prepare for this and he kicked himself mentally for not taking the time to get it all done in time. If he had just a bit more time, then he probably could have been fully prepared for anything that was thrown at him. He would just have to make do with what he could, and he would have to watch out for the others that were lower in power, just in case anything powerful popped out of the woodwork.
He expanded his sensing ability as far as it would go as well, that way he could detect power signatures even if the ships might be cloaked. It would be an interesting change of pace if there was nothing here, and they could just grab the crew and head back, but experience taught him that things are never that simple.

The ship glides silently through space. The cold vacuum surrounding the small metal tube with its three passengers safely guarded within its bowls. A mysterious man had sent all three to this remote place in the galaxy, far away from anything they knew or anyone they loved. They had all been brought together by one method but hailing from different backgrounds. Each had what they dreamed of, what they fought for, what they loathed, and what they regretted but it was here and now that they had to deal with. Coordinates given by the strange man seemed to fill all with anxiety, from the ships to those on the Omega Collective to those across the universe that had heard about.
The time was now. The time to see what else lied within the vast expanse of the universe.
The sun crested over the edge of the vast planet creating a scene that only writers dream of, that artists try and capture and that all those that had the least bit of perception were left in awe of. As the sunlight illuminated the surface the planet appeared a pale gold with few clouds dotting the atmosphere. At first many would think it beautiful but upon closer inspection those observing the planet would find that it appeared dead. Computer assessments would reveal that the surface of the planet to be arid and deserted. There were no structures of note located on it while the computer would begin to howl at lack of proper magnetic fields protecting the planet from gamma radiation and heat. This was no doubt the cause of the immense desolation on the planet below. The very same magnetic field that seemed to doom the planet seemed to disrupt all sorts of equipment from communication gear to radar to navigation systems.
Upon closer inspection of the computer equipment the software running the scan on the planet seems to pick up a single solitary structure. It is small in size and appears to be displaying very high energy levels, possibly from a shield. It is easy to assume it is either a space port or a small settlement that has managed to find a nook in which it can survive. This small anomaly would no doubt be the best place to find out what is going on with the planet, which lived there and possibly even provide some leads to their mission.
(Note that communication between the two ships is disabled due to the magnetic field of the planet and that neither ship is in visual range of one another. Once all three have posted within the thread one more time then the next Saga thread will be opened.)

As the sun rose over the horizon and illuminated the planet, Conri could honestly say he hadn't expected anything quite like this, the whole planet was a barren wasteland. Well, that's what it looked like anyways, nothing but desert for the majority of the thing and the sensors warning him of the magnetic field surrounding the planet. Which meant his ship was at risk if they got too close to it unless there was someway to shield it from the effects, but he didn't know how they could do that. Plus any attempts to contact the other ship provide futile since the planet's magnetic field seemed to be blocking all forms of communication and the others weren't within sight. Well, this was a great start to the mission, but they still had a chance to turn things around if they could meet up with the other group and figure things out.
Looking at the scanner he did notice the small little blip within, which could be anything really, but it might be their best chance at finding out what happened. Well, this was why he wanted the other up here as well, it meant that they could all decide what they were going to be doing. He looked at the shielded zone and carefully weighed the options in his own mind, trying to figure if it was worth the risk trying to investigate in that area. If anything did happen to the ship they would be in trouble, but if they could find out some clues about the planet and maybe something about the previous crew. He knew the answer he would make if it was just him that was working this mission, but he was now responsible for the lives of two others and he didn't want Marisa getting too damaged either. Stroking his chin a bit, he wondered if he could reprogram the shields to counteract the magnetic field. It would leave them more vulnerable to actual attacks, but it might help them keep the ship from getting fried in that atmosphere, but first things first. Then again the ship was pretty much brand new, maybe it had built-in protection against magnetic field interference, which was why they weren't fried just being in the area around the planet.
"Let's go check out that little spot that's giving off these high energy readings, any objections?" he asked, though didn't really wait too long for an answer as he started to take control of the ship once more. If there was interference, then the navigation would likely not be that good for getting them to that place and he would have to do a bit of flying himself. Still he would also make sure to send out a message to Zex giving a brief detail about what they found so far. This would at least help make preparations if they needed to have someone sent to get them as well, hopefully if anything did happen Marisa would be able to last that long and keep the systems going. As an extra precaution, Conri flipped a couple of switches and activated the shield for his ship, which would hopefully provide some extra protection for them.
"Let's hope we aren't flying into a trap eh?" he smirked, though his words were true as well, if that area was a trap, they might be screwed. Oh well, nothing would get done if they didn't do some exploring to figure out if the crew was still alive or what the hell was up with this planet.

“What’s up? We able to see our target yet?”
Kurosanai, the apparent prodigy, strolled in with his usual lackadaisical attitude. Though Willie had spoken, Conri waited until the third member entered the cockpit before replying.
"Not yet, Kurosanai."
Something irked Watson about the human, which was a surprise in itself as the boy had a predisposition to liking others. Even those he did not necessarily ‘like’ he certainly did not ‘dislike’ them. Glancing at the stars William wondered if it was just the mission weighing on his mind.
"We are almost there, however, and it'd be better plus would save time if we all saw it at the same time. That way we can plan what we need to do right away, and I'm expecting the worst, so you may want to buckle in as well."
Continuing his staring contest with the vastness, William witnessed as they approached their destination. At the tail end of Conri’s words, it unveiled itself with remarkable timing. It seemed so majestic at first, as the light of the system’s sun crested over the planet’s rim. Sadly, as they neared, they found only deception.
The planet was riddled with but death and despair personified; miles of sand and stone as far as any eye could see. Moments later the computer would confirm what the travelers already knew to be true; nothing could survive in that hellhole.
"Let's go check out that little spot that's giving off these high energy readings, any objections?”
William’s eyes followed the intended trajectory and studied the area Lane was referring to. He thought of what it could be, given the type of landscape the planet portrayed. What could survive such an arid climate long enough to actually live there? Perhaps though, it was a shield protecting a city from the harshness. It would best explain how anyone was able to thrive on such a barren husk.
"Let's hope we aren't flying into a trap eh?"
Though the intent was surely humor, William did not smile. He was far too concerned with the anxiety bubbling up within him. After all, he did not have the sort of confidence belonging to a galactic martial arts champion. Nor did he share the same predisposition to informal indifference as the other team member. He could not afford to die, no more than fail the mission. No one would care for his family should he not return; Prometheus would surely cast them out once they were of no more use to him. Their safety, their livelihood depended on his success. Thus his anxiety only grew as a knot began to form in the pit of his stomach.
“If you have to ask, then it’s probably a trap.”
Willie jested, doing the best he could to smile on the ship’s captain to ease tensions. Perhaps making a joke of the dangers they may face would lessen their worries. And yet the knot twisted and turned deep within the boy with a vicious angst.

As the sun crested the planet it created an image that Kurosanai could never have guessed he would see. The image of it was beyond magnificent as he was left breathless. Up until the galactic tournament a short time ago the prodigy of the Muzai had never even been off the planet Earth. He barely traveled to the nearby cities that surrounded the Muzai compound. It was forbidden for him because of his importance to the clan. No one wanted to see him possibly get hurt or suffer any worse circumstances. He was the pride of the clan and as such he had to be protected, or at least that is what the leaders of the clan called it. To Kurosanai it was more along the lines of being coddled and sheltered from the world around him. Never in a million years would he believe that he would be in this situation right now.
The moment lost some of its appeal though as more of the sun’s light spread across the planet ridding it of any shadows that may be hiding on it. The planet was barren and only filled with absolute nothingness. The prodigy’s eyes darted from left to right trying to fathom why a group sent by an affluent leader of a portion of the galaxy. There was nothing here. Suddenly the computers began to go off and the ship shuddered for a brief second before Conri Lane stopped it. Something with the planet must be messing with the ship but he could not even begin to fathom on how any of that worked or why the ship shuddered.
"Let's go check out that little spot that's giving off these high energy readings, any objections? Let's hope we aren't flying into a trap eh?" Conri Lane asked with a tone that implied he was not really asking of permission. He didn’t really have to seeing as how he was the one that was piloting the ship and could very well do whatever he wanted with little objection from either Willie Watson or Kurosanai.
“If you have to ask, then it’s probably a trap.” Willie Watson proclaimed. But the way Willie Watson was talking as if it was a bad thing. Often times when someone wants to lure you into a trap and you knew it was exactly that then it would be best to spring it and react then.
“Then if it is a trap why don’t we go spring it? If they think they are trapping us then the best possible thing would be to spring it and kick their asses. Or at least that is how my former clan leader used to teach me in lessons on strategy. Besides like you said our only lead is that small space port, so we don’t have much option anyways.” Kurosanai laughed in stark contrast to that of Mr. Watson’s gloom and doom attitude. It was only in these moments that Kurosanai seemed to laugh the most, perhaps it was a way of dealing with the stress.
