In the dim light of his workshop, Ivan sits intently, tinkering over Model Zero's mechanical arm. The android was shut down, perhaps the closest thing to sleep he could ever experience. He feels someone's presence creep up behind him, which could only be the doctor. "Messing with his chain of memories again?" the serpent-like voice hisses to the air of that solemn night. Ivan shook his head, which caused confusion to befall upon the lizard being. He wagged his tail like a dog and asked curiously, "You don't intend to erase his memories?" Ivan shook his head once more, his response was delayed for he was focused on a most conspicuous wire he could not pull out the edges with his probe. "You know I can't do that," he finally replied.
"Of course," the doctor responded, rolling his eyes. They've had this conversation once before. One may forget, but they can never 'erase or lose memories entirely. Memories held a physical form on the quantum level, and as every physicist knew, matter -or energy, can't simply disappear. They can only adapt new forms. Zero's chain of memories -as others- was tied to that principle. The most Ivan could do was change Zero's chain of memories. "You don't plan on making him forget?" The scientist was silent. It appeared he was considering to allow the android to retain his recent experience. The doctor furrowed his eyebrows with concern and lowered his head to the man's ear in hopes of changing his mind. "Ivan, that is very dangerous. If you allow Zero to retain his memories of his encounter with Conri, then his memories of that conversation will also remain. He will slowly become conscious of his individuality and we'll lose our grasp on him."
Ivan nodded. "That is correct. But perhaps some memories are best to keep," he replied. The doctor scoffed and moved back with disbelief. "Doctor," Ivan turned on his chair to face his colleague. "In that encounter Model Zero witnessed with Conri Lane, he realized the reality of how dangerous saiyans are. If Zero's beliefs support our cause, then would that not strengthen his resolve? Wouldn't that be more effective than a mindless drone?" "-but what if we lose control?" The doctor protested. "What if, allowing Zero with that spark of self-awareness, it starts something much bigger which we cannot handle?" "You mean like a domino effect?" "-I mean like a ripple effect," the doctor clarified. "You can stop dominoes from falling if you remove one ahead of time, but you can't stop water from rippling. Your attempts will only create more." Ivan was silent and lowered his head in deep thought. "That wont happen," he insisted. The scientist stared into the other's slit pupils unrelentingly, "if Model Zero starts showing signs of insubordination, if his beliefs take a turn for the worst, or if he begins to doubt his memories, then I will personally change it."
The doctor stepped back, he could feel the determination in the man's eyes and his tone. Ivan had already made his mind and there was nothing he could do about it. The scientist turned on his chair and began to work on the android once again. "Remember," Ivan said, "No matter how you look at it, Model Zero is still a machine. And like every other machine, if it stops working properly, all you have to do is reset it and take it back to a previous state in which is functioned correctly. That's the beauty of androids. If they rebel, you just have to change it. Living beings, however, they are an unpredictable bunch." "-You're unpredictable," the doctor stated. Ivan smirked.
Model Zero had been reactivated that morning. As were the protocols of his daily life, he walked into the gravity chamber and stopped at the center of the room. Most of the facilities were still under construction, as they tried to repair what the saiyan had left in desolation. The chamber itself was patched up with provisional materials, which could be ruined if he was not careful. They also managed to get the gravity chamber itself to work, along with their main controls. Shortly after arriving, Ivan buzzed in through the microphone as scheduled. "Alright Zero, today we are going to test out a new little weapon I finished installing into you last night. It shouldn't be hard, just focus on your wrist and let the magic -erhm... science happen."
The android nodded at the roof, knowing that somewhere there was a camera watching over him. He brought his arm in front of his face and examined it. However, it looked exactly the same as before, and he didn't feel any different either. Moving it up and down, he thought it might have been a little heavier, but it was hard to tell with the heavy weights clasped onto his armor. Suddenly, his arm dropped from his face and hung tensely towards the ground. There was that off buzz about the room again, like a generator. The gravity chamber had been activated, he concluded. Ivan would soon speak into the microphone, confirming his inference. Man glanced up, waiting for it to happen, and it did. "The gravity chamber has been activated. You are now experiencing five times more gravity than your previous session, that's twenty times more gravity than the normal level. You will be facing a new machine today."
Right on cue, as soon as Ivan buzzed out, a trap door opened at the far end of the room and a machine rolled out with a pair of wheels on the soles of its feet. It was slim, scrawny, and left little to the imagination. It didn't seem like something which could fight -it didn't even have hands! Man raised a brow at the odd contraption. He figured it was meant for speed. As usual, he started by attempting to assess his opponents adeptness in battle, but as he tried to use his scouter his eyes were met with nonsensical gibberish. It appeared that Ivan had not been able to fix the problem yet. No matter, he thought. He was going to end this quickly. Lifting his arm at the target, he aimed steadily. With the increased gravity and the heavy weights, it was very difficult to lift a limb composed of mostly metal. His arm shook in place, but he took slow and deep breaths to calm it and focus on the execution of his attack. Just as his master had indicated, all he needed to do was converge his attention at the wrist and his hands collasped inside his arm. An event which caused a spray of surprise to cross his stoic demeanor. Under that arm, what appeared to be a cannon was revealed.
His eyes shifted back to the emancipated apparatus standing idle at the other side of the chamber. Lights flickered on one by one across the border of his handless arm until the center began to glow. The lights conglomerated and manifested into energy, which was quickly and efficiently expelled in a single stroke of mesmerizing ki. The attack was like that beam of light that Conri had demonstrated before during their last sparring match, but it was shorter and perhaps faster. Someone else also seemed to be faster. Almost as fast as the exploding sound of his new weapon, the thin machine at the other end of the room flashed out of its path and stopped half-way along the circumference of the room. The beam, however, continued forward and self-destruct upon meeting with the empty wall. Zero's gaze did not waver. His eyes were fixed meticulously on the distant figure of his challenger, even as the after-effects of his attack blow onto his hair in the shining mess and obscured his vision.
"Amazing!" The doctor praised, patting his fellow scientist on the back as they hunched up against the monitor. "That attack will increase Zero's performance substantially!"
Ivan nodded, "and the best part is, because he's an android, he can use it as many times as he deems necessary -without succumbing to the dastardly effects it would cause on organic fighters."
"That is incredible!" the lizard commended. "However, I've got to say, I thought you'd go for the big electric technique."
Ivan rolled his eyes. "I am, but that technique Conri used is a bit too complicated right now. And if we do develop something similar, we can't test it in this lab. Meanwhile, at least he has a new toy to play with. -Nobody will see it coming" The doctor nodded in accordance.
The strange machine obviously had more to it than it let off. It wasn't that it didn't feel the effects of the increased gravity; the wheels on its feet made more sense every time. His opponent didn't have to lift its feet off the ground to move like Model Zero had, it simply strolled along the marble floor and gravity definitely worked in its favor. The arms were removed from its design, because it would hinder its speed. The machine was not designed for combat. This was target practice! Man sighed and pivot his extended arm ninety degrees, readjusting his aim to the contraption. Having learned a little more about himself by using it, he launched his attack a little faster. But it was evaded just the same. He continued to repeat the process, each time he yearned for more speed, faster execution and precise aim. The charade continued for about two revolutions around the chamber and it was soon engulfed in fumes from consistent explosions. "Zero, if you keep it up, you'll destroy the chamber!" Ivan warned from the microphone. The android gave up and decided to change his tactics. This time, he ran towards his target and aimed. It was difficult to maintain a steady arm while he moved, so he pressed his hand against the wrist. He was careful not to accidentally shoot his fingers out. That would be embarrassing.
After the first blast, he immediately aimed towards its destination and shot there. But as soon as the machine detected the second blast it had already reached the other end of the room before the blast even hit the wall. Man clenched his teeth. His task was becoming vexatious as the robot mocked him from afar. He considered how other's would have dealt against it. Conri Lane would have probably used that strange wind to stop it from moving. If you can't catch a mouse, then corner it with something it can't evade! Unfortunately, Man had no such techniques and that kind of tactic probably worked only in closed environments like the gravity chamber. Releasing his wrist, he decided to go into close-range combat. Summoning his saber, the android dashes forward and thrusts at the machine. His attack was evaded yet again, but hitting the wall he uses his feet to propel himself after it with a scarlet silhouette trailing at his wake. He imitated the thing's movements, and soon they seemed like two particles on Ivan's monitor, dancing in a ball room. The scientist sighed. "Doesn't look like we'll reach much more progress now," he said. "Zero let the machine get into his head and now he's not thinking straight." The doctor nodded. "It appears so..."
Ivan leans over a mike and presses a red button next to it. "That's enough Zero, we'll pick up from where we started. We've other tests to run."
After that last thrust, the android stops as directed. He missed again. Man furrows his eyebrows and clenched his fists while staring at the machine he failed to purge. "You see that?" the doctor said, pointing at the screen. "He's already reflecting Conri, I can't tell the difference between the two anymore." Ivan chuckled. "Don't worry, Doctor, a little emotion wont do him wrong. It just means he wants to do better. Next time, he'll grab that thing and tear it apart with his own hands -just because he failed the first time." The lizard sighed. "I just hope that's the only thing he tears apart..."

This attack fires a quick and powerful blast from cannons installed under an Android's wrist. Because of its quick execution, it cannot be charged. However, it explodes upon impact, causing an intense shock wave.
