Nex was curious. In his short life he had been curious about a lot of things, the funny smelling water that made him dizzy and other foods he smelled really drove him to action but there was one feeling he had never been able to explore. An intensity in his head that told him about the creatures he encountered was something he usually ignored as most were small and usually faded with a good smack, but he’d felt something very potent from this direction something much bigger than anything he’d ever felt before.
With a belly full of food and time to waste he sought this power as he took to the skies to track it down. It wasn’t hard to follow it didn’t seem to move anywhere but when Nex approached this city it disappeared without a trace as if it knew he was coming. Now the bio-android was floating above the tallest building eyes towards the ground as he tried to get the feeling to come back. Several planes flew around him, and he could see a gather of people below as they stared up at something that was in his general direction but he paid them no mind.
He wanted to find this power more than he wanted to do anything, but with all those people down there it made it hard to concentrate. His curiosity had always been slated before and now that it wasn’t he could feel anger and frustration starting to build. Nex threw back his head and let out a challenging roar, daring the power to reveal itself to him. It was a primal sound, instinct from the pod or perhaps just something he picked up in the wilds, either way he wanted the power to come to him.

Brock shuffles along the road, the city in the distance getting closer and closer. His training had been interrupted when he sensed a huge power, and had been following it for days. Though he couldn't sense it anymore, he knew which direction it had gone off in. He had barely slept, and had run out of water hours ago. As he crests the next hill, the gate is just a short distance away, giving him renewed strength. He stands up straighter, moving forward with more speed and purpose. He is, of course, stopped at the gate, but the guards find no reason to deny him entry, and at length, let him in.
Once inside the great city, he heads for the closest diner, grocery, or lemonade stand, his mind set on getting a drink. He finds a small hole-in-the-wall café, where he orders and rapidly drinks several glasses of water. He leans against the counter, trying to figure out his next move. "What am I supposed to do? Just wait for another massive energy spike?" Just then, a loud, threatening roar echoes throughout the city, and Brock can sense a large power, larger than anyone around him. "Thank you, sweet coincidence!" He leaves behind 5 Zeni as payment for the drinks, then rushes outside.
Though the city is huge, the people are doing a fine job of leading him to the source of the roar. People are rock simply follows the crowd, until he finds himself at the base of a massive building. Everyone is looking up at the sky, and Brock can faintly see something hovering in midair. He tries to push through the crowd, but they refuse to be pushed aside. Growing frustrated, he raises his hands to his mouth, yelling over everyone's heads, "EVERYBODY MOVE!" Not surprisingly, the townsfolk clear a path for the giant man. He strides forward, until he is more or less directly beneath the floating thing. People step back from him, leaving a circle of empty street around him.
Not sure what else to do, he builds up his Ki, a red aura gathering around him. He lets out a loud roar of his own, hoping to attract the attention of whatever is making all this fuss.

THERE! He felt it, a massive power swelling below him followed by a scream that echoed through the air. Nex wasted no time in descending towards it, he would not let this power escape him again. He landed and looked around, searching for the creature that was producing this intensity, but all he saw was one of the soft skin standing alone as the others fled from his arrival. This one had power much greater than the others, enough to cause Nex to shiver in anticipation. How had this soft-skin gained this strength, and how many more were like him? The beast began to circle him trying to find some differnce between this one and the rest, but there was none. Just like the other soft-skinns that ran and died before him this one had two arms and two legs, puny teeth, and a weak mane.
"Soft-skin...strong...how?" He hated using the tounge of man, it felt odd to use his massive tounge for such a thing but he wanted to know, needed to know. He could feel his blood begining to boil the longer he stood there, swimming in the glow of power that fueled it. He found himself powering up slowly, leaking between his fingers as it grew higher and higher. Every cell in his body was on fire, urging him to tear into the soft-skin, to fight and struggle against this power. Did he feel it too? Was it building behind his eyes like it was his?

Brock looks over the creature as it descends and starts to circle him. He's reminded of a shark, circling its prey. A very ripped shark. Seriously, that thing has more muscle than he does. "What are you supposed to be? Some kinda... freaky vampire... demon thing? On second thought, I don't care. You wanna know why I'm so strong? I wanna know about a little town out in the desert. You know it? Place called Oasis? I sense a real big energy spike out there couple days ago, and it was headed this way. You know anything about that?"
As he talks, Brock keeps his eye on Nex, his anger starting to get the better of him. His hands are clenched into fists, his red Ki gathered in his forearms, leaking a small bit out into the air.

Nex was only half listening, his ears heard the words of course, they were more than sensitive enough for that but his heartbeat was louder as it continued to thump harder in his chest with each passing moment. He knew why it was happening, the pod always said he would be the perfect fighter drivin by the need to test himself against powerful opponents before overwhelming them in his perfection. Now this soft-skin was challening him with his power and he felt the need to answer back.
"Town..not important...soft-skins flee...die...only hunger matter...only..power!!!" As he spoke the last word Nex roared it into the sky his head back as his strength burst forward from within as a pure white aura surronded his massive frame.

That settled it. This... thing... was the source of the energy, the reason Oasis was destroyed. And it didn't care. It would do it again. When the beast throws its head back and shouts, Brock reacts, charging forward faster than one would expect of someone his size.
He lowers his head, driving his shoulder into Nex's stomach and flipping him over his shoulder. He yells to the crowd, who are watching them excitedly. "GET OUTTA HERE! RUN!" With his Ki flowing through him, his voice is projected out loud and clear over the crowd, who wisely follow his instructions and start running.

Nex hadn't expected the hit, his breath leaving him as he was thrown into the air. He gathered his wits as best as he could landing on his feet before dropping to one knee in pain. This soft-skin was strong, much stronger than the rest but Nex would not be beaten so easily. Pupil-less eyes stared deep into the soft-skin as he raised himself back onto his feet, hands clinched into fists as he gathered his power.
Instinct took over as he rushed the man, his feet gliding across the ground as he used his energy to propel himself forward in a much faster pace than usual. The monster attempted to grab the soft-skin in the palm of his right hand, to feel his head cracking under his grip, but he would settle for any part of his body. This creature was his prey now, and Nex would not let him escape.

Brandon was happily resting himself in an alley when the sounds of battle greeted his ears. Followed by the screams of the masses, He got up to his feet, and walked to the end of the alley to see hundreds of people running away from a pair that were heavily engaged in a battle. A Human, and...something Brandon had never seen before. "What the fuck is going on over there?" He asked himself, as the familiar voice of Verilth chimed into his thoughts. "Not very perceptive are you? Its a battle, Between a Human...and what my guess is, an Alien." as Brandon let out a sigh.
"Something to avoid then. I dont want to get hurt..." He replied, as Verilth's next words sounded frustrated. "I picked you as my host for a reason! Stop being cowardly, and get in there!" Verilth said, almost screaming at Brandon, causing him to jump a bit in shock. "Fine Fine. I better not get killed then..." He said as he sighed again, and started to make his way through the scrambling crowds towards the battling pair. "Do you remember what happened back with the Namekian you demolished earlier? The shield and the rock?" the spirit asked, as Brandon nodded. He almost felt sick with the memories of all the blood he had spilt already.
"Ya, what about it?" Brandon thought in reply, wondering where Verilth was going with this. "You have other abilities as well. Ill run a quick tutorial, as you call it, to make sure you get out of this alive." he replied to Brandons question, as Brandon had gotten free of the running masses, and was in plain view of the two battling combatants. "You have up to 5 abilities as of right now. Your body must grow more to accomedate more abilities. You have Shield, Projection, Empowered, Infusion, and another ability which I have temporarily locked away for now until you are ready. Shield, is its own namesake. It will protect you from some attacks. Projection will allow you to jump further then ever before, as well as land from great heights. Empowered will allow you to double the lethality of any item you are holding."Verilth explained, leaving out the infusion ability explaination, which made Brandon curious.
"What does Infusion do?" He asked, but all Verilth said in reply was "I will let that one be a surprise. But use it only when you absolutely need to." which made Brandon slightly frustrated. He was about to get into the first real fight of his life, and only knew part of what he was now capable of.
When he got within Earshot of Brock and Nex, Brandon decided he would try being a hero. "Hey! You two! Why dont you take the fight somewhere else where theres no people around!"

Brock had let himself get distracted, and the blue beast had recovered faster than he expected. It grabs the back of his head, trying to crush his skull, no doubt. The beast is strong, and Brock can already feel a sharp pain in his head. In his surprise and pain, all he can manage is an undignified grunt. "Grah...!"
It's now that someone else tries to be a hero. Brock doesn't know him, and is too preoccupied to try and sense his strength level. He reaches back, grabbing Nex's forearm. Luckily he knows a technique for escaping grabs like this. He swings his other arm back, striking Nex's arm at the elbow joint, forcing it to bend. As he does, he pulls on Nex's arm to pull him off balance, allowing Brock to drive his elbow into Nex's stomach and hopefully loosen his grip.

Nex gripped the soft-skin with savage glee as he squeezed harder, his left raised to strike his prey in the spine for added pain, but a buzzing in his head brought him to a hault. Another Soft-skin with power beyond the norm was talking to him, distracting him from the fight at hand with pointless words. Before Nex could finish the first prey he felt his arm bend before another blow landed in his gut. Grip loosened for a moment before Nex let his left fly hoping to pound the fragile beast into submission as he continued to throw vicious blows, ignoring the other creature.
Right now there was only one prey, only one goal.

"Damn, They are both completely ignoring me... Maybe this is my chance to just walk away..." Brandon thought to himself, watching both combatants in a tight gripp, whailing blows on eachother. Brandon was about to turn and leave, when Verlith chimed in "Do not retreat. This is an opportune time to attack the creature that is attacking the other human. He said, as Brandon looked around for something to use as a weapon, and only found a fist-sized rock.
"That will work." He thought, as he picked up the rock and judged its weight in his hand. "My years spent as Pitcher for the Highschool baseball team are about to pay off...I hope..." He thought, as his bracelet glowed softly, as a familiar red shimmering energy flowed from it, into the stone. "Empowered" Brandon said, mimicing Verlith when he firt used a stone to defend himself, and sure enough, the red energy was sucked into the stone, and he could feel energy radiating in it.
He took aim at Nex's head, and threw the deadly stone as hard as he could... right at Nex's head...

Brock's plan had worked, in that Nex was no longer crushing his head. But now it was pummeling him with its fist, causing Brock to lose his own grip on the beast's arm. He had taken hits before, but not like this. Nex was stronger than Brock had assumed.
Luckily for him, the newcomer decided to join the fight. Brock can sense his energy, and it's higher than any of the other humans nearby, but not as strong as Nex. If the boy was going to survive this, he would need to keep away from the beast.
He spins around, raising his arms to block Nex's attacks. He just needs to defend himself long enough for Brandon to distract Nex.

Nex was so focused on the opponent before him that he didn't feel the raise of power until it was too late. Whatever hit him hurt...it actually hurt something Nex had not experienced before had happened now three times in one day. He was forced to stop his attacks, stumbling back a little from the unexpected blow but he shook it off in now time. If he was angry before it was worse now. Two soft-skins had attacked him, had dared to challenge the creation with their power and though he rarely thought of the pod it the words forever repeated in his head even now. "No human would ever match your power."
Even if Nex didn't realize it but he came to believe in those words, took them for truth because they were all he had. Now they were challenging him, hurting him and Nex would not let it stand. He replied to the hit from the other creature with a blast of his own, using a fraction of his power to distract him while he took to the sky. It wasn't a retreat, but a change of venue since now they would have to come to him.

Brandon watched as his rock hit its mark, dead on infact. "Nice shot, Prepare for a counter attack." Brandon heard in his head. Verlith was indeed right about a counter attack, as Nex had turn his attention to Brandon briefly, and launched a smaller energy blast at him. "Oh crap! Gotta block it...um...right!" He thought as he remembered Verlith's short tutorial as he held up his left arm, and said "Sheild!"
A quick spurt of energy from his bracelet, and a small triangular shaped shield appeared infront of Brandon as Nex's blast hit it dead on. Cracking under the stress, his shield did its job as the shield vanished, and saw Nex take off flying into the air. "Oh great, He can fly... And I cant...." He said as he mumbled to himself, as he waited to see what the other human would do next...

While this fight was occurring, somewhere across the street a beautiful knight was renting out a hotel to stay in for a while. She sat in a bathtub soaking when she heard the sounds of fighting across the street and grit her teeth. Looking out the window of this bathroom, she could see one strange looking monsters, a large man with massive muscles, and a brown haired man with glasses fighting and normal street clothes. The monster was floating in the air above the two warriors, and the man with muscles was finishing up blocking an attack from the hideous beast. The young man also had some kind of shield, a triangular one that exuded with a strange source of energy.
She scoffed and thought, "That guy in the glasses looks like he's kind of familiar but I wonder if I should step in?" This woman, named Roxsenne with her long black ponytail and hard blue gray eyes was no stranger to combat. She allowed the living armor embedded in her skin to come up and over her naked body and stepped out of the tub in a full suit of knight's armor. Her hair was wet, but she did not mind as she ran to the door of her hotel room, rushed out, and went down a set of stairs to the front door.
Once there, she grabbed a longsword on display at the hotel's entrance, since her favorite one was broken still, and headed out to fight. Running over to the two fighters she took command of the fight and asked, "What's going on here! Central City is still not safe I know, but why in the world is that thing here!" Thrusting her sword up, she pointed at Nex whose dark blue, almost black skin, freaked her out. He had no pupils as his eyes were completely pitch black. He also had long white hair and strange horns.
The other man, the one she was unfamiliar with that had bulging muscles, his seven foot tall stature, all black clothing, and his fingerless gloves, combat boots, leather vest, and black gi made him stand out as a real punk. That's what Roxsenne thought as she took in her surroundings and sought to take down this small threat. Since Azazel and many others were still busy at the king's castle she felt it pertinent to defend the rest of the area within Central City with her life.
