The first thing that hit him was the sound of people yelling things really loudly and then the sudden invasion of light into his nice dark slumber. What the hell was wrong with people, why couldn't he just get a few more hours of sleep? Was it really that big of a deal that he get up today? There wasn't even a war game, so there was nothing exciting for him to do today and that meant that he could sleep in longer as well. Although, he had to admit that the object he had made his bed for the night was rather solid and uncomfortable, almost like it was the ground. Which was weird because he never usually found himself on the ground regardless of how much he usually drank, but that would need to be saved until later since everyone seemed determined to keep yelling through his hangover. "Everyone shut the hell up!" he roared over the incessant rants from whoever the hell was there, and turned the other way so that he could get some more shut eye. Unfortunately, someone seemed to disagree with this plan as he could hear foot steps and armor clanking closer to him, it was when the foot steps stopped but the metallic sound continued that he rolled to the side. It was a good thing he did as well as a large impact landed right where his head had been moments before that point, and that was a sure fire way to wake him up.
Popping off the ground he moved away from where the source of the impact had been, only to find that he had been followed initially and another impact hit the spot he had been in. Opening his eyes groggily, it was then that he noticed his current location, he was inside the arena where they held all their different battles and somehow he had managed to fall asleep in here? Rubbing his head something didn't seem right, but with the massive hangover blurring his thoughts and causing an increased amount of sensitivity to noise and light, there was little he could concentrate on at the moment. It seemed that there were five other people with him in here though, which was odd because he didn't remember there being anything scheduled for today. Just how much did he have to drink then? If more than a day passed and he found himself in the ring like this, then it must have been one hell of a party, right? That didn't make much sense though, how did he manage to walk here if he was unconscious? Looking over to what had nearly crushed him, he saw a rather large war hammer with a crater around it, and could only imagine the kind of damage it would have done to him.
"Oi, you should be more careful with that thing, you tryna kill me?" rubbing the back of his head, he started to get his bearings a little, his mind slowly catching up to his body. It was then he noticed that everyone in the arena with him had their eyes set to him, which was never a good sign in the first place and so he counted the amount of people that were in the arena at the time. Huh. Well, that would explain why the guy with the hammer was trying to kill him at least, but it didn't explain why he was here in the first place. Turning towards the area where the podium was located and he saw the man that would be presiding over his supposed trial. "So, assuming that you're the judge, what exactly am I being charged with? I mean, waking up already in the arena seems a bit rude, don't ya think?" murmurs shifted through the crowds as he spoke, apparently he had done something pretty big if they were all up in arms about it. The man in the robes stood and Alexander recognized the man as someone from Koryu City, just what the hell did he get himself into while he was drunk?
"You were brought here on charges of the highest degree, you murdered the leader of the city, and worse yet, your own father."
"Bullshit. I didn't murder anyone, don't you think I would have noticed something like that?"
"Regardless, we found you in his estate drunk and passed out with his body just a few feet from your own"
"I have never done anything violent while I was drunk, only passed out at worst. Maybe hitting my head off something but I doubt I could kill someone doing that. I'm one hundred percent sure I wouldn't hurt anyone while drunk."
"Then how do you explain the blood on your hands?"
"What blo---where the hell did that come from? Okay, I am ninety-five percent sure I wouldn't hurt someone while drunk." there was a slight chuckle from the people around him, as if assuming that had been a joke. Sadly, the truth was a bit worse and that he honestly had no idea what had happened where he had blood on his hands. Did he really kill his own father? Sure, they were at odds with each other and Alex thought he was a grade A asshole, but that wasn't something he would kill the old fart over. If it was, there would be a lot more people littering the streets, that was for damn sure. Not that he was really that bothered by the news in the first place, it was weird that he just didn't seem to have any emotions about his situation, other than the fact that he didn't like that hammer bastard for trying to crush him.
"Hey, if I murdered him, then why are only my hands bloody? Shouldn't the rest of me be as well? I mean, I have no idea at this point if I did or not, honestly not really caring as much as I thought I would be either, buy hey. I at least should get the truth sorted out, then I at least know for sure," he was a bit shocked by his own words. More so that they held truth to them, he learned that his father had been killed, but it didn't bother him. He learned that it might be him that caused the old buzzard to stop breathing as well, and it was still something that didn't bother him, why was that? Tilting his head, he shrugged to himself as the judge looked on with an astonished expression. A slight smirk forming at another thought, something inside him told him that this wasn't the way he should be settling this dispute either. So he came up with another idea, one that would probably piss off a lot of people, but it had just come to mind recently given that a certain bastard had been trying to crush him with a hammer recently.
"Tell ya what, I don't even care if I'm guilty or not right now. So, I propose a little bet, I take on one of these old codgers in one on one combat. If I bet him I get to go on my merry way, and hell, I'll leave the planet just so we won't have to deal with this crap again. How's that sound for ya?" everyone was stunned in silence, but there was something about this that was giving him a slight thrill, was it the fact that he was about to battle one of the executioners? One of the few people that the other warriors could never face off against? Who the hell knew, he just realized that his entire life he didn't pay attention to his own feelings about anything. He didn't actually care about little things like dealing with his family or whatever, what he wanted was a life where he could do what he wanted, when he wanted, and damn anyone that got in his way.
"Very well, you shall have your battle then, who will you face off against? I would suggest choosing wisely."
"I want little hammer man, I take it personally when someone tries to crush my head like a melon," the best part was, is that he had been working on a new technique recently. There was no better time to test it than in a battle like this, where it was kill or be killed, something about this kind of showdown got his blood boiling. Focusing all the power of his muscles into his fist, he readied for the moment that they would start, it would be a battle that no one would forget. He would make sure of that.
"You can't defeat me, I fight for a just cause," with that the older warrior charged Alex raising the hammer over his head and as he was bringing it down, Alexander brought his fist up. It was a powerful sound of collision, and while the blow left his right hand almost useless, his attack had proved effective against even the might of this old warrior's hammer. The entire head had been blown off the weapon through sheer force and the worst part was that it had been turned into shrapnel, embedding itself into the face of his enemy. It was not a pretty sight in the least, but the executioner would be alive and mostly well. With that he turned to the judge and smirked, they had a deal and he was bound by honor to respect it, regardless of what he may have wanted to do to the bastard.
"Oh, right. Old man, I'll say this so you have fair warning if we meet again. Words like 'just cause' have no meaning to me, I don't need to use such empty words to make myself feel better about what I do. Killing is killing no matter how you try to pretty it up," a bit of a smirk on his lips as he left the arena. From that point he took a shuttle bus into space, never to return to his home world ever again, but that was fine with him. Maybe he would find something more fun out in the vast universe.
