Ivan was astonished. He had never dined among upper-classmen. The table was long, immaculate, and brimming with enough food to keep him fed for months! Now he knew why the Slums were dying from malnourishment, the rich had all the food! Servants would serve the food, but Ivan and the Queen would wait for King Arctic before starting the feast. The scientist was thrilled to have been granted such an audience. He had not spoken with Lord Zex in the same manner as King Arctic. The icejin was much warmer and welcoming compared to the dark enigma that’s Prometheus. The fact that Arctic would personally train with Model Zero was proof enough of his boundless generosity. Lord Zex would simply delegate the task to his brother, but he would never ’lower’ himself to spar with one of his servants. The scientist’s eyes would stray from the gourmet before him only to greet the icejin as he entered the dining room. Ivan’s expression became professional as soon as King Arctic requested that they start with their talk.
“Certainly! You see, my King, I am but a scientist. I know a lot about mechanics, chemistry, biology; however, I am no fighter. It is for this reason that I require someone as experienced as you to provide feedback on Model Zero’s performance, as well as insight on how we can improve.” His eyes fall on a nearby glass as a servant poured wine into it, and then he looked to the Queen. “Furthermore, I was speaking with your lovely wife while we observed the sparring session. I wanted to learn more about you and your desires, King Arctic. I believe I’ve never asked you where you’ve come from. I never asked about your side of the story, the story of how the Omega Collective came to be and what is your vision for the future. How can I serve you properly if I don’t even know that?”
The scientist smiled, and with the King’s permission he started to tackle his dinner.

Arctic listened to Ivan as he went on about all the different things that he knew. Stating that he knew things like mechanics, biology, but not fighting. Something that Arctic knew clearly. Ivan was a scientist, and by the looks of him had never been in a fight in his life. This was the reason he wanted Arctic to fight against Zero. So he could have an experienced fighter tell him about Zero’s ability. While the scientist was speaking, Arctic was playing back the events of the fight in his head. Remembering every move that was made, every attack that was executed.
Ivan went on about how he didn’t just want to know about Zero’s abilities, but about Arctic’s own desires as well. About where he came from and what was his story of the Omega collective. Arctic was not here to tell the scientist about his life, that was a story that only a select few people knew about. One being the Queen, the others were lone gone from Beta Prime. Arcitc would wait till the scientist was done speaking before answering his questions. When the food was served, he motioned for the scientists to start eating.
“Zero is a decent fighter, he is able to read most situations and act accordingly to them. However he still had a lot to learn. It was clear that he doesn’t understand when he is outmatched, which is something that is going to get him killed. If he is ever fighting a losing battle, it is best to try to make it out alive and learn from it. Needlessly fighting will just end up getting him killed. I believe after a few more fights he will understand this.” Arctic stated to Ivan
“I am sure Model Zero will learn that fact soon my Lord. After all that was his first real fight.” The Queen chimed in
The Queens words were true, it was probably Zero’s first real encounter, but that mattered not. Zero needed to understand that all fights can not be won. “As for the rest of your questions, that is something you are not going to find out. All you need to know if that you are serving me properly as of right now. If that were to ever change, you would quickly find out. As for the vision of the future, I will have Zero help me rid Alpha Prime of Prometheus Zex. Having all of Omega collective falling under my control. You make Zero be able to do that and you have served me greatly.” Arctic said
“I would like to know when the cannons were added to Zeros arsenal? Is there a way to make them even stronger than they already are?” Arctic asked

Ivan paused. Steak inches from his mouth, yet he felt King Arctic's response deserved his undivided attention. He rests the morsel on his plate and gazes at the icejin king. He was quite different from Lord Zex. King Arctic tried to prove himself a being to be feared by all, but he was much more gentle than Zex no matter what he said or did. The mere fact that King Arctic himself would personally train the android and feed Ivan in one night was proof enough. He could not imagine Lord Zex providing such hospitality if not to assert his dominance. Another key point in their difference was the way in which they viewed Model Zero. While Arctic criticized the android's lack of self-regard, Lord Zex celebrated it as vestige for the android's loyalty. Zex would have the android die in battle with his last breath -Arctic would have him surrender. Was it kindness? Strategy? If Arctic loss Zero, his goals to defeat Lord Zex and his brother would be pushed back indefinitely. If Zex lost Zero, he would quickly replace him with another. Whatever the reason for the icejin's thoughts or actions, Ivan realized he liked him just a little better than Zex. The notion almost convinced the scientist to rethink his plans and consider an alternate reality -one where King Arctic would not have to fall. However...
The man's eyes dropped back down to his plate as he begins to tackle the delicacy he had neglected for far too long. "Today's technology is very advanced," he began, chewing in-between sentences. "It has advanced so much that we can now travel to other planets as casually as if though they were countries. We can practically raise people from the dead -or the brink of it, and we can transfer nearly all of an organisms organs to another with astounding accuracy." The scientist pauses, banging on his chest to force the food down his throat. He takes a gulp from his glass of wine before continuing, "-yet, technology has not been able to feed all who reside in the Gamma Slums." The scientist cleans his mouth with a piece of cloth and sets it aside. He rests his hands on the table, with fingers locked, and body leaning towards Arctic's direction. He was about to reveal to him something about Zero which he refrained from mentioning to others. King Arctic's earlier comment had inspired this decision as he proved to Ivan that -unlike Prometheus- he was not looking for a mindless machine to follow his every command. He wanted something real. If Snow had demonstrated the android's incredible growth rate, the icejin would no doubt prefer him over a machine; Zex was debatable.
"What I'm trying to say is, despite all of our advancements, today's technology is limited. Frankly, I may have lied when I bolstered about his 'unlimited' potential," he said the last two words with exaggeration in his voice. "The truth is, from an intellectual perspective, Model Zero can only go as far as our technological advancements. His potential is, in fact, limited by our competence." At this point, the scientist was in hot water. To admit that he had initially lied about Model Zero were grounds to pull him out of the water and toss the scientist into a tank full of sharks, but he was not finished and Arctic would not have time to respond before he continued.
"However," he started, "just because we are limited, does not mean he can't surpass our boundaries. My science probably can't enhance his cannons until our next scientific breakthrough, but the energy used in his weapons are tied with those within himself." That was it. The idea that an android possessed energy other than that provided by his mechanisms -energy of his own, implied he was not entirely mechanical. Energy itself was only possible through living biological cells; if King Arctic knew that much, he could also discern the true nature of Zero's creation. It made sense really. How could a machine 'grow'? If Zero were completely mechanical, then it would make no sense to believe that his power-level would increase through battle. If he were a solid machine, Ivan could download all knowledge of combat into his processor and continuously upgrade his components to be more effective. Sparring would have been meaningless and obsolete.
Ivan smirked. No doubt King Arctic would be surprised to learn of Model Zero's true nature and Ivan's second best-kept secret. He hoped the icejin's reaction would be positive, otherwise, he might die then and there; but he had a gut feeling that it wouldn't be the case. King Arctic was a social creature and needed to pass on his teachings unto something he can remotely relate to. This also gave him complete power over the android's rate of advancement. Ivan can maintain and optimize Model Zero's components, give him new toys, and an entire new makeover -but King Arctic was the essential piece of the puzzle which would enhance the android's power-level. The more time they spend together, the closer the King would be to his goal for complete dominion over the Omega Collective.

Arctic sat across the table listening to the scientist speak about todays technology. Arctic was partially interested to hear what the Ivan had to say, but he better get to the point soon. Otherwise this little meeting was going to end very soon. Which Arctic knew that was not what the scientist wanted. Ivan continued to go on and on about technology. Only talking after each and every bite that he took. Arctic was beginning to regret having this meeting. Eventually the Scientist would begin to talk about Zero’s potential. That is when Arctic would lean slightly forward in his chair and intently listen to what Ivan had to say.
Ivan went on to explain that Model Zero could only go as far as our technological advances. Which got Arctic to thinking. Ivan had lied to him about how far Zero could go before. That in fact there has to be an advance in technology in order for Zero to get stronger and for him to help Arctic take out Zex. Arctic began focusing more on the words spewing from the scientists mouth. Which for his sake better not anger the King further, otherwise Ivan was going to be replaced and dealt with.
"However," Ivan started, "just because we are limited, does not mean he can't surpass our boundaries. My science probably can't enhance his cannons until our next scientific breakthrough, but the energy used in his weapons are tied with those within himself."
Arctic was intrigued by Ivans previous statement. Apparently Zero wasn’t just all machine, there were in face living parts of him after all. Arctic began to think back to their fight and Zero though he did seem to look like a machine. When he was fighting Arctic could tell that there was something different about him and now he knows. He knew now what he had to do. The only way for Zero to reach this new power would be to train and fight, just like Arctic had done growing up.
“If what you are telling me is true. Then we need to continue Zero’s training right away. I will have him reach this new level no matter what. You are very lucky Ivan. You basically admitted to me that you lied about his previous potential. Had you not brought this news to my attention, there would have been some problem for you and your other scientists. Despite that I can see why you did what you did.” Arctic said once again leaning back in his chair.
“Now despite just training. Tell me other ways you can assist Zero in helping me take over the Omega Collective.” Arctic asked.

Ivan grinned. The icejin's enthusiasm rubbed off on him and now the scientist had a smile nobody could erase. With King Arctic personally watching over Model Zero's progress, the android's power would undoubtedly skyrocket to heights never before seen. The scientist appreciated Arctic's understanding for the man's white lies, he only did so because he thought it appealed to his superiors more than the latter. -It worked for Zex after all, but Arctic proved he was not as much a tyrant as the populace might have thought; the icejin was warmer than Zex and inviting. Ivan raised the multi-faceted glass of wine towards the icejin as a show of respect, a toast, and brought it to his lips. The taste was rich and spurred at the throat. Arctic inquired about other ways in which the scientist had been working to improve Zero; there were many promising experiments, but only two concepts seemed to emerge whenever he thought about it.
"I won't bore you with the details, but there are currently two potentially promising experiments which I think could enhance the android's capabilities considerably. You see, there are -at least, two parts of Zero's body which is completely mechanical; his right eye, and his left arm. I intend to take advantage of their metallic nature and optimize its functions. For example, as you already know, Model Zero is capable of deciphering an individual's exact power-level. This function is granted by his right eye, as I had specified. Now, what I'm about to tell you is purely speculative and still in the works, but what if we could increase the scope of his right-eye's vision? Perhaps, we could make it so his eye is capable of identifying objects from miles away! And if that is not exciting enough, theoretically, we should be able to connect the android's eye with the satellites, granting him a bird's eye view of the entire planet!" The scientist's hands lifted in the air sporadically. His hazel and blue eyes growing more crazed as he passionately disclosed his ideas to the icejin. As a scientist, he thought it would be quite useful to enhance the android's line of sight to such extent -almost giving him a sense of omniscience about the planet currently inhabited. Then again, from a warrior's stand-point is was likely King Arctic had a different opinion.
"For our second project, with Zero's left arm, we intend to use the laws of electro-magnetism to enhance the android's arsenal of battle tactics. We are, essentially challenging the concept of ki as a whole. You see, I've been doing some research, and apparently kiis said to be made up of three components: Energy, Courage and Mind. However, that definition is too abstract; no, we want to define ki from a more objective and scientific perspective. Now, what stands out the most to me from that definition is energy. Energy can be expressed in many forms; calories burned from walking, sound generated from shouting, heat, electricity... We have already proven that one can absorb energy, as you may have discovered during your sparring session -now we want to learn how to take that energy and convert it to other forms of energy!"
Ivan lifts his index finger, imitating one of King Arctic's signature techniques. "Imagine, you're preparing the infamous Death Beam," he extends his arm, pointing directly at the icejin, "and upon unleashing your attack, somehow, Zero manages to absorb the energy radiating from your attack and convert it to heat, in order give his following attacks an extra oomph -or maybe, as you fight Wrath, you decide to confuse him by attacking Zero with your Death Beam, then he redirects your Death Beam and catches the beast off guard." The scientist's eyes were wide open, consumed in his ideas. So much for 'saving the details'. There were so many possibilities. Being able to form energy was an impressive feat. in itself, but technology allowed one to extend the possibilities of what a being could do with such power. King Arctic and Model Zero fighting side by side could be the most deadliest duo the universe would ever witness. -That is... unless something or someone ruined their plans prematurely. Ivan chuckled at the thought, although it seemed as though the scientist was laughing out of joy for his passionate imaginations, he had been actually been laughing over the possibility that someone would kill the icejin before their plans could ever formulate.
But really, he thought, the idea of Arctic's head on a pike six months from now was far-fetched...

Arctic continued to listen to Ivan explain the two parts of Zero’s body that were completely mechanical. Arctic learned that his right eye and left arm were completely mechanical and that more could be done with them. Zero was capable of figuring out an opponent’s power level, but only from a certain distance away. As Arctic listened it seemed like the Scientist wanted to extend that range. So Zero could locate people from a mile or more away from his position. Ivan explained that the eye might even be able to connect with the satellites to a planet. Allowing the android to see over the entire planet. The thought intrigued Arctic. With the ability to view over an entire planet, he could see where everyone was.
“From what you are telling me about the eye, it seems like this could be useful for us and for him in the future. Make this upgrade happen if you can, Zero will become the best weapon to take out Zex and everyone else that comes in my way. Now explain your second project.” Arctic said folding his arms across his chest.
“Looks like you are actually enjoying yourself hearing about Zero’s potential for the future.” the Queen whispered to Arctic.
Arctic said nothing to the queen, she already knew the answer to her question. Arctic was focusing on listening to Ivan speak about the second potential upgrade for Zero. We have already proven that one can absorb energy, as you may have discovered during your sparring session -now we want to learn how to take that energy and convert it to other forms of energy!"
Once the scientist was done speaking, Arctic would take a few minutes to process everything that he had just been told. The idea of extending the androids battle tactics was something that Arctic was very familiar with. In their fight Zero only had a view different attacks that he used on Arctic. He needed more then what he currently had, which was obvious. Arctic liked what he was hearing from Ivan so far. Before Actci had anything to say to the scientist, Ivan began speaking again. Arctic waited for Ivan to finish his explination before giving him his answer.
“Everything that you have told me that could be done to Zero, I want it done. Make these upgrades happen as fast as you can Ivan. Zero will need to learn everything he can if he is going to help me take over Alpha Prime. So Ivan I suggest you start working on these upgrades immediately.” Arctic stated.

The scientist nodded with eagerness. The evening couldn't have gone better. He may not have obtained the information he sought for, but he could now leave knowing that his employer was content and engaged in his investment. Ivan would work closely with his team to make these concepts a tangible reality while Arctic would personally train with an android he may now relate to remotely. Model Zero had been taken to the laboratory after their sparring session to undergo repairs. Once he was ready to go, Ivan would dispatch him to King Arctic's domain immediately so their training may continue and the icejin king could witness how his investment would grow boundlessly. Ivan finished his plate and pushed it aside, nodding to the servants so they can start picking up the table.
Ivan stood from his chair, his attention to the icejin king. "Your will, my hand, King Arctic. Soon, Model Zero will be ready for you and the Lord of Alpha Prime will be no more. The icejin will soon return to their former glory and secure their place among the stars. The android will be back for more training promptly, and I will work to make our idealizations a reality."
The scientist bows before King Arctic and the Queen of the Icejin people. Never would any of them have thought, that six months from now, King Arctic's wish would be granted -but he would not live long enough to see it as a saiyan whose risen from the dead would come back to haunt him and claim his head for the spoils.
