Jenn let out a long sigh as she relaxed at one of the many windows of the castle having curled up on the ledge after manifesting the necessary pillows with which to make her new spot comfortable her human form being just small enough to make the seating arrangement a comfortable fit. She very much wished that things had gone differently, if only she hadn't freaked out as thoroughly over her situation as she had perhaps this could have been avoided had she taken the necessary steps of informing Kaladar of her situation and his place in it then he would likely have never let the ring leave the Lookout as it had never been meant to. If that had been the case then in all likelyhood this entire thing could have been avoided, she and Azazel while individually not as strong as Kemuri at full power could have perhaps dealt with him, it would have been hard and it would have lead to many an injury but with Carla and Bear providing support it could have been possible. But because of her own idiocy Kemuri was able to obtain her ring and with it dominion over her. She was trapped again and yet somehow it was worse, she had people now but they were not allies, except Bear.
And soon... soon she would likely need to face off against the warriors of Earth, she could already FEEL her oaths cracking under the pressure of her being under Kemuri's command, the Hyena was the 'King' of Earth but most certainly was not looking out for it's best interests and the way her oaths had been sworn would lead to there destruction once the battle began, the strength of her wish-bound oath to obey Kemuri would FAR outweigh her personal oaths to the Guardians and the Earth, there destruction would be painful to be certain but definitely not enough to take her out of the fight no matter what she wanted. But perhaps that was for the best, if she fought she could ensure that someone like Kemuri or his new recruit didn't KILL those who would certainly come to fight but lack the raw power to fight those two.
The new arrival was a bit of an oddity and one Jenn found herself interested in finding out a bit more of, perhaps a bit of persuasion could be done on her part to try and get him to be less of an ally to Kemuri and more an ally to herself if only perhaps enough that if the time came that she reclaimed her freedom he would know that Kemuri's was the losing side and it would be within his best interests to at worst abandon the madman. But that all really depended on how sane the man was, she had little to no point of reference with beings such as he, she knew Humans, she knew Animalfolk, even her own race was mostly an enigma to her as she knew so few Genie and was fond of even less. She'd tried out the form of the newcomer, it was as foreign as feeling as she had ever felt being in such a form, comparable only to becoming an animal. Jenn's ears twitched as she picked up on the slow approach of heavy footsteps, a curious sound considering the lack of guard around here. She'd personally chased off any who had been in the vicinity with a claim that Kemuri had given her full right to kill them if she pleased so who exactly would be fool enough to come around here? Jenn peered out from her window tilting her head to get a better look down the hall...

Oh what a day it was for the young Vennor, not only had he taken out some scum bag that was idiotic enough to fight him but he had also landed himself a stable job, one that would require little travel on his part. As much as Anri explored the universe he hated the thought of traveling, he wasn't sure if it was because he had been doing it for so long or if he was just changing. Things seemed to be taking a different approach than they used too for him, colors seemed different, even the air around him smelled different. It was bother some at first but he began to enjoy it, something differnt out of the daily path of death that surrounded him. Don't get the wrong idea though he wasn't a new person, given the chance of making a few thousand grand or saving a bus full of child he would buy a new ship with the money he had gotten. While passion, lust, hopes, dreams and love would fuel others Anri was influenced by cash, dreams and hopes always shattered before ones eyes, and there was no room in his heart for passion or love.
The meeting between the dog creature and himself had not long ended as he now wandered the empty hallways, given free roam over the castle. He was surpised to see if as empty as it was, houses such as this on Riva where filled to the brims with females, maids, entertainers. This castle seemed to lack the warmth and charm of the ones he had heard about in human folk tales, the ones were a beautiful princess lay in wait for her prince charming; the royalty part still confused him, with no royalty in his society he had never seen such a thing until he found his way out into the universe. No, the castle seem more like a prision for those unlucky few who resided with in its cold walls; luckily for the Vennor being a merc was a no contract job so he could leave whenever the feeling pleased him. Though from the looks of the job he didn't think he was going to have much of a issue fitting in around here, all he really had to do was kill people and he had a long resume of that carved into some poor soul's bones back in Alpha prime. But that is a story for another day....
The hallways criss and crossed up and down the castle it was a bit over whelming to the new resident as he made his way down the halls, eventually he decided that he was lost, rather than fight the flow he decided to relax and go where the halls took him. Stopping in the entrance to a larger room he spotted a bust of a human, given from the looks of the statue he had guess that whoever it was used too be someone of importance. Walking closer he examined the bust, the fine carved lines that traced it's way down the worn smooth face; it was truly a piece of art work. That being said it was unfortunate that his finger slipped, tipping the bust off it's high platform and smashing it on to the floor below, shattering into many pieces.
"Ah shit...." Anri glanced around the area too see if anyone had noticed, that's when his eyes caught view of the lone woman as she rested on the windows ledge watching him.
"...if you hadn't seen me just do that would you believe if I said it was already like that?" The words flowed from his mouth as his strong alien accent coated them.

Jenn watched with interest as she spotted the source of the heavy footsteps, just the man(she was reasonably certain the newcomer was male) that she had been thinking of, he appeared to be wandering with no real direction and hadn't quite spotted her yet perhaps too taken in by the bits of beauty that could be found all throughout the now nearly dead empty castle, it was a bit sad to think of a place like this being so empty and Jenn could only hope that it was in such a state because Kemuri had driven out the vast majority of its previous inhabitants assuming there had been a fair number of them, all that was left were those who were apart of it's guard who had chosen to accept Kemuri as their new King. Jenn didn't quite blame the man even if she took it upon herself to spook them a bit with threats of violence if they didn't give her the space she wanted, there were likely some reprehensible individuals among them but others... others likely just didn't want to incurr Kemuri's wrath. People of today appeared far less hardened than people of her era there towering metal homes perhaps making things TOO safe for them. But regardless there were some who were clearly just people trying to live in a world where there existed men and woman who could vaporize them in an instant for simply thinking something that opposed them. She'd already identified a few such men and planned that if things got bad to keep an eye out for them.
The newcomer had halted a bit further down the hall to marvel at a bust of someone Jenn coulden't identify, perhaps the King? She knew he was still somewhere in the castle, she wondered where exactly though, perhaps deeper in the dungeons? She really should have payed closer attention when she had gone to help Bear, perhaps she could have met the man and gained some insight into what Kemuri was truly capable of... but then again if the King had known then likely this wouldn't have happened, Kemuri was as far as she could tell a deceitful man by nature one that you would always need to listen to carefully and try to pick the lies from the truths. Jenn was snapped out of her thoughts at the sound of the bust meeting the floor and the resulting shattering. The newcomer looked stunned for a moment before quickly looking around trying to see if he was in the clear, the destruction of the bust had likely been an accident as if it were intentional it was far more likely that he'd simply keep wandering. As he searched his eyes fell upon her and he spoke.
Jenn chuckled at the comment "I don't believe Kemuri will care too much, in all likelihood he'll be replacing all this wonderful art with depictions of himself soon enough." Jenn said with a bit of disgust evident in her tone as she adjusted herself on the window so that she was now sitting facing the hallway a far more comfortable position with which to speak to the quite foreign newcomer. "Nobody's likely to even see it anyway, I've more or less claimed this hall for myself and the guards know better than to set foot around here." She said with a confident smirk as she brushed a few locks of red hair out of her face, the only issue with her human form was that no matter how hard she tried no matter the style so long as he hair was long it would inevitably find it's way into obscuring her sight in some manner. "Which raises the question of what brings you here? I'd imagine you've not encountered any of the guards nearest to the hall or they would have given you a warning or did you just ignore it?" She asked a bit genuinely curious on if the newcomer had known he'd stepped into her 'territory' or not.

The woman compared to human standers was quite a gorgeous one, her long flowing hair running its way down her back and into her face, using her hand she parted it over her ear. Anri care little for her looks though, most humans looked the same too him. He wasn't sure if it wasn't a alien thing or if all human did look just the same, regardless he did his best to try and tell them apart. Usually it would in up in him killing the wrong target but it ever stopped him from completing his mission. Chucking at his comment she seemed almost angered that the art was going to be torn down eventually by Kemuri, judging from her tone alone he guessed she didn't particularly like his new boss. He found that fact quite strange given the fact that she was sitting in his of his own castle, with barely any idea of the new regime which Kemuri had set in place, he had little understanding of what had happened.
"Guards huh?...I do think I remember one of them telling me I couldnt go over here, but- I gave him a smack on the head and sent him running." Anri laughed at his own comment.
"Didn't take much to send him running away. Never does, seeing a 400 pound giant coming at you will send most things running for cover. Though I got to let him have it, most people wouldn't have had the balls to even try and stop me, better yet talk too me." With the shattered bust now fading from his mind he took a few steps towards the women, she seemed far more interesting than what else was going on in the castle. There was still plenty he could explore, but at this point he had loads of time on his hands, Kemuri hadn't asked him to kill anyone as of yet, so his plate was free. Taking a nearby chair he ploped down in the wooden frame, obliviously not meant to hold such a large creature it squealed under his large mas, splinters shooting out it's sides.
"Eh, damn chairs you would think Kemuri would bring some in designed for his heavy set guests." He chuckled glancing down at the wooden legs.
"Whatever, should hold." Turning his head back around he looked at the woman.
"So I take it from the tone of your voice you don't much care for my newest employer, might I ask why that is? I mean if I'm gonna be working for the...er, dog-human, think I should know a bit more about him." Anri questioned as he leaned back in the whimpering chair.

Jenn listened as the newcomer explained that at some point he HAD been warned against entering the hall by one of the guards but had as she had assumed to be a likely scenario simply ignored the man, she hoped it wasn't one of the good ones though if it hadn't been they likely wouldn't have even bothered she hadn't TOLD them to keep people out but all the same they spread the news amongst other guards and as such she had presumed the possibility that if anyone such as the newcomer would try to make his way here they might at least try to keep him away if only for his own sake. But it appeared the newcomer didn't much care for people telling him where he could or could not go as his statement made it seem like this was not the first time such a thing had occurred "The men who work here are, and I mean no offense. Used to dealing with beings a bit more terrifying than even you, though I suppose you might fall into being perhaps the most visually intimidating." Jenn said with a shrug as he commented on being impressed with the fact that someone had even tried. These men had served the former King who was likely somewhere around Kaladar's power and enough of a threat that Kemuri had needed to seal off his power rather than kill him outright in a true battle, on top of that they had to deal with the bastard himself, Kemuri and of course now they had herself to contend with though at this point she was likely far more in line with the newcomer than Kemuri in terms of intimidation factor though she had her own ways of presenting herself as a great threat.
Jenn watched as the newcomer claimed a chair and much to her surprise and perhaps even his own the chair managed to hold together under the weight of the newcomer, an impressive feat if ever there was one considering the mans claim of being around four hundred pounds, she didn't disbelieve the statement either, her brief experience with testing out the man's form had certainly felt heavy and cumbersome to move in. She smirked at the comment he made on Kemuri needing to acquire better chairs for more weighty guests. "Kemuri from what I understand hasn't entertained guests much. Too busy trying to take over a world." Jenn said with a roll of the eyes and a thick venom in her words.
"To say that I do not care much for Kemuri is a vast understatement of the situation, If I had the means or opportunity I'd kill him in the most painful way I could devise and trust me when I say that I've had quite some time to come up with many interesting ways to do so." Jenn said with an almost vicious grin, most of those ideas had been mere 'playful' theories devised many a year ago long before she had met Seikatsu back when she had dealt with lesser variations of men like Kemuri. "He took this throne by force, he attacked and kidnapped and injured a.. friend" Jenn paused trying to find a good way of describing Kaladar without necessarily saying 'guardian of earth' she knew the man very little but even still was willing to consider him such, he was a successor to her 'family's legacy after all, and in a sense that made him like apart of the family that she missed so much. "And of course the whole keeping me prisoner bit hasn't done much to ingratiate me to him much either." Jenn said laying many of her cards on the table so to speak, perhaps if the newcomer knew the situation better he would be less willing to join Kemuri, sure perhaps it would lead to an actual order against warning people off of joining the forces but to keep at least one person away was worthwhile.

"Even more terrifying than me huh? Well that's a tad insulting but also makes me curious, gotta wonder what else has walked these hallways, these vast... confusing...hallways...." He chuckled glancing back at the hall from which he came, at least the hall he thought he came through. He was still trying to get his bearing in the strange complex of a castle.
Leaning back in the chair he crossed his arms behind his head finding himself the most comfortable spot as he could, the chair really wasn't made for it though. The fancy chairs that sat around the room where meant for rather quick social meetings, get your business out and then move the fuck on kind of chair, like those found in fast food places. Thankfully his plates padded most of his body so finding a comfort when none was to be found was something that came nature to his people, though not one of their well known aspects. His eye brow rose when she mentioned that Kemuri was too busy taking over the world.
"Not something so easily done even with a vast army under one's belt, but from the looks around here the dog doesn't have anything near that." He noted pointing his thumb back in the general direction of Kemuri's throne room, or at least he thought were it might be.
It was true though, given the vast size of the castle he had barely seen anyone walking the halls, it even seemed to have a almost eerie silence. The place alone could settle a few hundred people comfortably, not to mention he was sure there was a fully stocked kitchen some where hidden behind the castle walls. It didn't look like the king had much support if any, at best it looked as though anyone that did support him were the few guards and Anri. He had no idea of his polices or laws, hell even what was really going on but his pocket was being lined with cash, that's what he really cared about.
"Well when you put it like that it sounds as though you might want him dead." He laughed, the tiny movements of his muscles causing the chair to sink lower towards the ground.
"So your a prisoner huh? Doesn't much look like it from my point of view, got your own wing of the castle and your not down there in the cell dank block. Looks too me like you got it pretty good for a prisoner of war, you should have seen some of the things I've seen back during my war days." He noted with a bit of excitement in his voice.
"Ever seen someone skinned? Not my thing personally but damn didn't know something could still be alive after losing that much blood, geez...." His words faded off as his mind wondered back to his time in the battle field.
Over the years Anri came to travel over the vast cosmos taking jobs here and there for the highest bidder, but it always came down to the battle field, the place were everything mattered, where your actions sculpted the world around you. Each time he saw someone be decapitated, ripped apart, or even blown up it hardened his already cold hard. There were times when he couldnt tell who was who anymore, just limbs and blood surrounding him; the only combatant who would walk away after each attack. It made him stronger, but it changed the way that he thought about the life around him. Coming back from the flashes of his past he shock his head trying to refocus.
"Why not just break out? Doesn't look like there's too much holding you back, sure Kemuri has wealth but he doesn't look like much of a fighter, and from the sounds of it you sound like you could go a few round with the guards around here." Anri said nonchalantly.
"Then again...." He leaned forward in his chair, his eyes gleaming with intent.
"Things could always be different than they appear to be at first glance." The sentence almost sounded like a question.

Jenn chuckled at the seemingly good natured way the newcomer took to being informed that he was not the most terrifying individual to grace the castles walls "As I said, I meant no offense it is simply an unfortunate fact." Jenn said with a smirk as she watched him lean back in the chair likely to find a more comfortable way of sitting on the chair that seemed quite ready to fall apart at any moment on him, the idea of the chair simply collapsing in on him was an amusing one but perhaps providing him with something a bit more durable would be best to avoid heightening the newcomers frustration as it was likely that if he DID collapse into the chair that it would leave his mood a bit soured. "I can make something a bit more durable for you if you would like." Jenn said gesturing at the chair without providing any real indication on HOW she would accomplish such a task, keeping the newcomer curious was also a part of her aim at the moment, if he was curious he would stick around and if he stuck around he would listen and if he listened perhaps he would think.
"He's well on the path of it, he's taken out the previous King and our world's Guardian, a man tasked with overseeing the planet and guiding it towards betterment." Jenn explained giving a more detailed explanation of what a Guardian was because it was likely that the newcomer might not be aware of such a thing, he was no demon and he was most certainly not an Earth-Born being, which meant he had to come from somewhere else... from the stars perhaps? It was not so strange a concept even if Jenn had never encountered such a being herself, or perhaps from some other dimension something like where her kin originated from. It was possible and perhaps roughly as possible as him being a being from the stars, both were foreign concepts to her though a plane-shifted being was perhaps a bit more within her depth.
"I am perhaps not so much a prisoner of the conventional sense, while I 'have' a wing of the castle it is because I forced out the guards and likely because Kemuri doesn't care enough to do anything about it... as for tortures such as you have suggested while here I am not subject to such things Kemuri has shown himself not above having me sent to those who are willing and capable of such. Though even before my capture I have seen... much to much of such things " Jenn said her expression hardening at the thought both over her memories of her escapades in the halls of UNITY and at memories of the past, she'd left the question mostly unanswered because she preferred not to speak of such things it was a thankful thing that with how long she lived it became easier with time to let those memories fade away into obscurity, she could also count herself thankful that even the faded memories most certainly did not contain herself as the subject of such things she'd simply been made to bare witness to events while in the service of some of some of her more particularly brutal summoners.
"Would if I could simply break out, none of the guards here are to keep anyone IN, they are more to keep the average person OUT and perhaps raise an alert if something is amiss. 'a few rounds' is a gross overstatement of what a battle between myself and even the whole of the castles forces would take. No Kemuri had a means of keeping me here against my will, it is why he is as willing as he is to let me move freely, because it doesn't matter if I try I could fly a thousand miles away, travel to the other side of the planet, even into the stars themselves and it would take him but a few seconds to have me at his side again." Jenn said with no small amount of bitterness in her tone as she gripped the edge of the windowsill causing cracks to begin lining where she gripped. "You're words indicate an interesting predicament for yourself, you lack the sense to understand the power of the people around you, Kemuri may not APPEAR dangerous but he is likely the most powerful being you have ever met. I can in my present state not even bring about enough power to match half of what I have seen him display in full."

At the woman's offer Anri shook his head, the chair was still managing to hold his weight. Even though he was a bit of a brute when it came down to bashing heads in he never forgot his manners, he would never let a female go around doing things for him. It wasn't that he was trying to be sexiest of any sort it was just how he was raised, anything a man could do so could a woman. On Riva both sex's where treated as equals it kept things simple, after exploring the universe he quickly learned that not all peoples shared the same ways of thinking, even he on earth.
"It's quite alright, this will more than do me. The way we did things back home is that if a man can do something so can a woman, therefore if I need another chair I'm more than capable of getting myself. Thanks for the offer though." He said as he patted the leg, the force of his hand causing the chair to wobble.
Explaining what had happened in Earths recent history he sat and watched the woman as she went on about the Guardian and what they did for the world, it was a interesting tale to say the least. He had barely any idea of what was really going on around the planet he wasn't the one to listen to gossip much, rather take contracts out or blow up the occasional terminal ward at a children's hospital, who knew kids were such high value targets?
"Sounds like he's on quite a little adventure, also sounds like I picked the right person to work under. I don't quite care for his polices but damn if he isn't motivated." Anri laughed.
"I'll take your word on that one, I can usually read people pretty well. I didn't think he was a just a puppy sitting up on that throne, seeing all the paintings of another man on the walls when I came in, I had guessed something along the lines you told me had happened. But I'd rather ask just too make sure I have all my facts spread out before me."
Anir always liked to all the information he could get his hands onto, sometimes it was the small bits of knowledge one had that could change the tide of war. Through any means necessary he could find out almost anything he needed too, wheter it be from simply asking the person, or showing them their own shin bone, he would get what he wanted to know. Often he would find that other mercenaries he was working with have some sort of objection too his methods, those partnerships wouldn't last very long. Their were actually quite a few people he could work with long term, most would either leave in terror of what he did or leaving in terror in what he might do.
"But you...." He raised his eye brow.
"Not one to offend, your telling me your half as strong as that dog thing back there, if hes as strong as you say he is then I'm already impressed?"
His question really was not one too offend he was just a bit shocked given the regal appearance of the woman, he had come across many women in the galaxy that could stand on their own, but she certainly didn't fill out that description. The females he often worked along side with him were great warriors, weapon drawn, face bashing warriors, not anything like the woman would sat in before him. However, now seeing the cracked windowsill as he nails dug into it's base he wondered if he should withdraw his last statement, not really sure if he wanted the answer anymore.
"You know what forget that last question, I've met enough woman in the past to know not to judge one based off appearance." Trying to brush his words off.
"So, you said that it doesn't matter how far you go you'll always wind up back in Kemuri reach, how is that possible, I mean its not like he can teleport right?...or can he? If he can that would be something good to know, went through a teleporter myself once, well more of a black hole, but that's a whole other pain in the ass tale."
To most Anir's tales seemed to be made up on the spot as he tried to make himself seem impressive but every thing he said was true, even the black hole. How he survived it though is still a mystery even to him, he hoped one day he would figure out just what the hell really happened on that day.

"Truthfully I don't quite know how strong I truly am, my power is for the time being limited significantly a rough approximation that I have managed to ascertain is that I am at about half of my full potential power at any given time, were you able to feel the flow of energy I would have an easier time explaining it but as it is that it the best I can explain. As I am I can reach a level of strength a touch below half of Kemuri's full strength and it is likely because of this that I've had my power limited as it is." Jenn explained not particularly perturbed by the newcomer being aware of her power being limited, it was done by UNITY and likely not against the wishes of Kemuri and potentially even at his behest, perhaps to ensure that if she DID escape his control she would not post nearly as much of a threat, regardless of the intention it didn't matter, she was stuck as she was and would be so for the foreseeable future in order to hopefully give the Earth an edge.
Jenn nodded and even let out a chuckle at the newcomer relating Kemuri to a puppy on a throne and with her laughter she released her vice grip on the windowsill, it was interesting to hear that the newcomers people had a society so willing to accept an equality amongst it's people it was a nice way of thinking and one Jenn often wished the people of Earth would have adopted in her time, the only reason she had received the fear and respect she had attained before joining Seikatsu had been because she so vastly overwhelmed the power of others, it had taken many years for it to become accepted that a female being, even a genie, was capable of the feats she could preform and taken even longer for people to realize that she accepted no man or woman as a 'better' the attempts to prove otherwise had been amusing however. "I can respect that, though don't complain to me when the chair is no longer capable of bearing you." Jenn said with a grin as she noted the chair's various creaky shifts with every small movement made by the newcomer.
She chose for the moment to hold her tongue when he mentioned that what she had told him made him believe he'd actually chosen right when he chose to work under Kemuri, she was not exactly new to the idea of meeting people who simply joined the 'winning side' and those who respected the power to TAKE power, were it someone less vile then Kemuri and if they had left Kaladar out of the equation Jenn would have found herself hard pressed to take an interest in these events, shifts in power were not an uncommon occurrence in her time but when someone like Kemuri found themselves at the top of the mountain it often spelled danger for the world as a whole.
Jenn's distress over the newcomer's increased acceptance of Kemuri waned as he spoke of how surprised he was that she was anywhere near the same league as Kemuri himself, and in the same breath that he seemed ready to question it he appeared to notice the damage she had accidentally inflicted upon the windowsill and was quick to correct himself on his assessment. "Looks can be a very deceptive thing, especially when forces beyond physical might are brought into the equation, where I lack in muscle I more than make up for in mystical talents." Jenn said with a grin holding out a hand and producing a glass filled with her preferred flavor of tea taking a sip Jenn listened as the newcomer spoke again questioning HOW Kemuri could keep her at an effective arms length so easily, she understood everything he said up to the 'black hole' bit, even the mention of a 'teleporter' had been enough to be able to be puzzled out for her rather simply, perhaps a device capable of replicating a teleportation spell in some manner? While she had grown to despise 'technology' it certainly was capable of quite a number of impressive feats. "The means by which Kemuri keeps me near are not simple to explain and as pleasant as it is to converse with you I do not find myself willing to reveal those secrets, better for me if as few people know as possible. "

"Ah ya sorry I'm not as well gifted as others around here, I can't do that fancy power reading stuff, or sensing. I've seen others do it before, pretty neat stuff, being able to sense the person before even being able to see then. Been thinking about getting one of those scouters I've seen scattered across the vale, but things keep coming up. You would think with all the jobs I have done I would have been able to save up more than just a few bucks." Anri patted his pocket where he kept his loose change, it jingled slightly at his touch.
For all the jobs he had completed he was a tad puzzled as too why he always seemed strap for cash, every time he check his wallet seemed to be full of fly's rather than green. Food cost and traveling took up a large portion of his income the rest was divided between clothes, bribes, entertainment and finding a place to sleep, though often he found it better just too sleep under the stars. Trying to do the math inside his head it began to hurt him, math wasn't his strong suit, even back when it was fresh in his mind. Never putting any of his income into a savings whatever he had on him was whatever money he had to his name, traveling made if difficult too easily store money close by.
"It's pretty great, everyone gets along well. With no sexism females and males work better together rather than one having to prove themselves over the other, its also a tactic used by the government to quill the people from wanting more than what they have, but hey it works." Anri leaned back in his chair looking over at a painting on the wall.
"You learn a lot when you travel, you see things you thought you would have never seen in your life time, and experience new ideas. When I first left home I was unsure about what I saw around me, new people, new ways of life that I had never unconsidered before. We were compelled into a certain way of thinking over thousands of years, growing up we were taught what our parents had learn from their parents, shoving the same bullshit down each others throats for generations. It wasn't all bad but looking back it trapped us into one way of thinking, never seeing beyond that vale before our eyes, content to sit behind the wall and follow the rules.... It might have been hell for years, but I was glad I left. Don't get me wrong though, I still miss my home, and not everything I was taught was a load of crap. Still gotta respect others for what the believe and what they fight for, learned that from my dad...at least i think i did." He paused scratching his plated head with his hand, the two rough materials scrapped against one another.
Thinking about his home brought flashes of memory back to his head, his home, family, places he used to visit; all the sights came flodding back to his mind. It always happened this way, flashes was all he could remember he wasn't sure if he just had a bad memory or if the hit too the head he too so many years ago had done more damage than he thought.
" And don't worry this thing will keep it's hold." He laughed patting the wooden limb, the poor chair creaked under his weight.
With the sudden appearance of the glass it caused the Vennor to jump back in the chair, suddenly he was looking up at the ceiling. The already weak legs of the chair could barely support his wight, but the force of the jump was more than enough to cause the legs to crack. Back resting against the ground he looked up at the ceiling, as his legs were sticking out into the air.
"Yep this is definitely more comfortable, I'm so glad I deiced, of my own free will, to break the chair and 'not on accident' fall too the floor. Yep, much better...." He sighed slightly embarrassed at himself though his face did not show it. Getting up slowly he looked back over at the woman who sat on the window ledge.
"So we're going to pretend, just like with the vase, that this didn't happen... more importantly though how the hell did you do that? I know teleporter's haven't gotten small enough to fit on a person yet."
Anri had traveled the many light years over the galaxy but never before had he seen some one, teleport something before as she had just done. The magic befuddled him but he did his best not to let on, but the breaking of the chair might have been a dead give away to her.

Catching the shifts in expression on the newcomer were quite a difficult feat, the features of the mans face were so very alien that it made applying her knowledge of such things difficult to apply he appeared perhaps... contemplative for a moment after patting his money bag though she had no way of knowing for sure why he reacted in such a way to the sound, perhaps it was lighter than anticipated? Money was a boring thing in Jenn's mind, for her it was far more simple to simply manifest what she needed and anything that was too complicated to manifest was usually not within her interests and if it wasn't then bartering with favors was a far more interesting way of doing things then weighing herself down with coins or paper bills or whatever the era she was in decided to place it's value in, the fact that she had for a long time gone many years between encountering civilization had as well made keeping track of and bothering to obtain money of any sort difficult or otherwise foolish.
Jenn listened with great interest as the newcomer spoke of his people and the way in which they lived, the freedom from gender prejudices was quite the amazing thing to have accomplished... but somehow it appeared that even such a good thing as that was used against the people by those who ruled them. It was interesting to hear the newcomer talk about how different his civilization was compared to what he had experienced and she could certainly agree with the sentiment about travel, most of her life had been travel bouncing around from summoner to summoner and finding new and interesting ways to scare them off using her power in order to obtain a few years of freedom to travel the world, she had only really started taking in the people of Earth when she'd been traveling to help them at Astos' behest and it had gone a long way to opening her eyes. Jenn smirked at the very clear signs of surprise that flashed across the newcomers face as he all but jumped out of his chair and the resulting collapse from the sudden movements causing the chair's collapse pushed her over the edge and brought forth a bit of laughter from Jenn.
"You're secrets are safe with me" She said her smirk having not yet faded as the newcomer asked how she had created the glass and referenced 'teleporters' again stating that it was unlikely she could posses one small enough to fit in her hand that was an interesting bit of knowledge evidently something like teleportaton was difficult to achieve and required large machines likely similar to some that she had seen back in UNITY "The answer to that is simple, magic." She said with a grin, she'd give no further explanation unless prompted, watching the newcomers reaction Jenn held her hand out palm facing the floor slowly crafting a far more solidly built chair for the newcomer a weighty looking thing it would appear to be made of some form of metal to create it's base but over the metal the chair was designed to be comfortable with large cushions made from very soft material all the way through rather than simply being stuffed with something as Jenn believed the likelihood of the edges of the plates on the newcomers body held the potential to simply tear through stuffed cushions. "I suppose you're surprise means you are unfamiliar with mystical abilities or they are rare enough for you to not expect a practitioner of them to be within your midst, I suppose in the same vein that explains your unwillingness to let me make a chair for you, you believed I would go search for a better one?" Jenn questioned though it wasn't a question that necessarily needed answer in her opinion as the answer was ultimately irrelevant what she was interested in was whether she had been right on the magic user point
"Oh and I was about to say before you're crash, your home sounds like an interesting place, it is sad that they are in a sense trapped by the years of what appears to be conditioning from your description, but that leaves a curiosity. You. Why are you not like you're people?" Jenn questioned feeling so interested in the concept that she was willing to risk asking a potentially very personal question. There was much about the newcomer that she found quite fascinating, he was such a foreign being though perhaps in this case 'alien' was a better description, the way he spoke of his travels made it sound like her guess that he was a being from the stars a bit more likely.

"Thanks." He gave a small laugh at his own expensive, knowing that the embarrassing moment would be kept between the two, for only there minds to share.
With the idea of magic coming from the womans mouth he was about to call her out on it but advised him else the idea. Even though he had seen and heard a lot of things that this universe had in store he was sure there was always more that was out there. During his travels he had met a professor that was working under a target he was set to eliminate, of course he completed the task but he had a long talk with the man tasked to work under him. He explained the world around them and how there was always more that what first meets the eye, other plains of existence that rivaled their own. Arni didn't quite understand what he meant but the passion that burned in the man's eyes was more than enough to convince him that it was true. The quick flash of that memory flooded his mind, making the idea of magic sound more possible than a few seconds before.
Extending her arm as a new chair quickly appeared before him, it was much larger and studier looking than the previous one was. Fashioned from some sort of metal material it looked more than strong enough to support his weight, let alone something bigger than him. Standing up from his position on the ground he worked the chair over with his hands as she talked to him. It was much softer than the creaky wooden one that laid shambled across the ground, he was sure he saw part of it fly out the window earlier, and yet it had a strong sturdy base too it.
"Personally...." He dropped down into the chair, this time it held his weight rather well not even creaking once.
"Ah much better. Personally, no I have never seen anything of the sort. Anything like what you just pulled I would usually just assume it to just be science in action. Even after all my time spent traveling across the stars one would think I've seen everything that this universe has to offer me and yet... I keep finding myself seeing these new concepts that my mind in a thousand years would never have thought of. Amazing, and I thought teleporters were the most amazing things I had seen, but this blows it out of the water." Anri said with a hint of impressiveness on his voice.
Leaning back in the new chair he was glad the strong metal had held to his heavy size, if not he would have thought it was time for a diet. Listening to the woman she asked him about his home, saying that it was a interesting place. Though interesting wasn't the word he would use he let her continue.
"Why am I not like my people?" He repeated her question.
He really had to think for a mintue about the question as he had never really thought about it before, what had made him so different as to break away and head towards the stars. Even during his escape the plan seem sane but looking back it was a million in one chance that he did actually make it out alive. Society always flowed the same way, everyone stood in a ordered lines as they awaited to be told what too do, and never questioning why it was they did what they did; it had just always been that way as long as anyone could remember. His people's train of thought was just that, a train. A continuous track for people to follow, set down a way pathway that never diverged into different angles, always holding it's self along the same lines of thinking.
"I think.... I think I am not like my people because I think. I think outside of what I am told. I questioned why I was doing what I was doing, what was the purpose? After I was discharged with dishonors I had nothing left, most people in my case would have just opted out and killed themselves. But...I don't know if it was because I didn't have the guts or because I wanted more out of life. I left that very day, there was nothing left for me. My family didn't want me and I was a shadow in the eyes of society. While my people many be very accept of their own, once you fall below that line of respect that's game over. The bottom rung of the world, wanted by no one, needed by nothing. You take the good with the bad I suppose, if you do what your always told, stay within the lines you have a happy long life. If you say your mind and do what you think is right, others cast you down." Arni broke from his words taking a few breaths, only again to continue.
"I'd like to believe I made the right choice, but sometimes I wondered what my life might have been like if I had stayed home, kept my mouth shut and just blended in with the rest of the blank faces that were around me." His eyes seemed too look off into the distance for a answer but he knew would never come.
"Or maybe its all the brain damage that I've suffered over the years." He laughed at himself again.

Jenn smirked as the newcomer explained that he had never encountered magic, at least to his knowledge of such as he also explained that without having her explain what it was that she was doing he would have simply assumed it to be a form of science which meant that there was always a chance that he had encountered magic and simply never had the opportunity to have the person wielding it tell him what it was, that would be especially likely if the user was an enemy wielding it against him. A man like the newcomer didn't look to be the 'take prisoners' type of warrior, he had a build and strength that likely leaned itself to ending threads quickly and efficiently, the fact that such strength was likely to be used against the Earth had Jenn frown slightly in frustration.
"Questioning and wondering if we've made the right choices is just apart of the nature of the mind, sometimes it can be nice to think about 'what if' scenarios but you should not let yourself dwell on it, I was much the same way about many of the choices I've had to make throughout my life and it took a friend who is long gone now to help me see that dwelling on 'what ifs' wont get you anywhere, you cannot change the past and in all likelihood it shouldn't be changed, we are who we are because of the choices we have made. While I don't quite agree with you're choice to work for Kemuri you don't seem to be a bad person." Jenn said as the newcomer took his seat on the newly created chair she was quite glad to see that her work held up against the weight of the newcomer his own claim to his weight had given her a good starting point on how tough to make it, the newcomer's explanation on why he was the way he was was suffice it to say curious he was simply an anomaly amongst he people the only one to break free from a mentality ingrained in a people for what he claimed to be thousands of years.
It wasn't necessarily that strange there were always people who went against the flow of life and even in such a society it would be possible for such people to exist, though in many cases as it appeared to be they were likely dealt with or eventually succumbed to the flow and fell into line, but the newcomer was different he'd managed to escape from it all and take off into the stars. Jenn let out a quiet sigh at the thought, she loved the Earth.. now at least she did but before then and even now she loved the stars. She had never ventured away from the Earth due to her own inability to do so and the inevitable fact that she would be brought back to the Earth once a new summoner acquired her ring or lamp. But still she had always enjoyed watching the stars and before meeting Seikatsu had wished she could escape there as well. "To have let yourself be drawn into you're peoples normal flow of life would have been unfortunate, the world does not need mindless followers, it needs free thinking people such as yourself. So while it may or may not help I believe you made the right choice. Though perhaps the brain damage route is also entirely possible." Jenn said giving the newcomer a grin.
"I hate to continue pestering you with questions... but what is it like out there? Out in the stars that is, Earth no matter how much it might change will always be familiar to me but what lies beyond is a matter of great curiosity to me for much of my life. This is not the first time I have been trapped as such and during those times I frequently wished that I could do just as you accomplished leave this world and venture into the stars to claim my freedom. I never quite managed such but did find my freedom at least for a brief while." Jenn said with a heavy sigh her emotions were all quite mixed at the moment as she brought up old memories of her time before Seikatsu and as well the memories OF her time on the Lookout and how much she missed it all.

"Ya your right, I've had years of flight time too think about these things before. It's just kind of nice to finally talk about them with someone else for once, used to have a good friend too, but things happened, ya know?" He coughed rubbing the back of his head.
"I appreciate the fact that you don't look to poorly on me, I may not be a 'bad guy' but I'm certainly not a good one either. I'm a merc it's kind of my job too be somewhere in between the two; I lay in what most people would call the gray area. Not to close to either side too be grouped with them but close enough that I can do either extreme, I walk a fine line between good and bad. I like it though, nothing ever holds me back from doing what I feel is right. No good, no bad, just what I feel like. Guess it makes me pretty damn good merc, at least I would hope so, been doing this for almost 20 years. And as where you might not agree with my choice to side with Kemuri, it's just business, gotta make a living some way and this is what I've chosen."
Anri laughed at her comment about his brain damage, though he brought it out as a joke he was actually being serious. Many years ago he suffered great brain trama that almost ended his life; bed ridden and in a coma for months the doctors weren't sure he was going to make it. One day out of the blue he woke up as if nothing had happened, he did feel strange ever since that day though. Not having enough to cover the medical expenses rather than pay the cost he escaped off the planet, having never looked into strange feeling since he left before they could, Anri has carried with him ever since.
"Ah it's alright, I never get to sit down and talk anymore, its always 'go kill this guy' or 'teach these punks a lesson'." He grinned thinking about a few of the recent jobs he had gone on.
"So shoot I'm pretty much a open book. Just say away from the XXX section and we're good." He laughed, leaning his arm against the chair he put his chin on his palm and listened to her speak.
"Huh well that's a rather more in depth answer than it would appear too be. For me.... Hell I love it, I hate traveling though, sometimes it takes weeks or even months to get to another star. Sure it's great to have some time to yourself every once and awhile but being away from civilization for that long can take a toll on someone. Whenever I went out for a mission I would hope that it wouldn't take much travel, it was always and still the worst part of the job. Whenever I was approaching a planet I would get excited too see solid land that I could stand on. Space is nice but it's far to empty to cross enjoyably; though some of those bigger ships can travel much faster than the junker I fly, or well flew." Taking a breather in he reached into his pocket pulling out a small flask, though one would first think it's alcohol it was actually medicine. Taking few sip of the nasty tasting liquid he put the screw back on the lid.
"Nasty crap, anyway.... It's not all bad though, used to love the travel. Getting to watch as the stars zoomed past the window, growing smaller until their light faded from view. Landing on alien worlds that no civilization had settled on yet, breath taking; I mean literally some of the planets have poisonous atmosphere." He laughed.
"Doesn't effect me much though." Pointing at the red gills on the sides of his neck.
"Special pair of gills on my neck allow me to breath in conditions that would kill most other life forms, lucky me huh? Chlorine, Argon, Xenon, they do nothing to phase me."
"They're are great sights to see out there in the great vale, but dangers lie around every corner, but if your well prepared and know what your doing its great. Just be careful of where you go, you might not ever come back." He gave her a playful grin.
"It's more of whether you feel like you would make more of a difference out there." As he pointed out the window and into the sky.
"Or here. Your home. I made the choice because there was nothing left for me at my home anymore, if I would have stayed I would have died years ago. So I made the choice to keep fighting, I've certainly made a difference in the worlds that surround us." He noted as he cracked his fingers against one another.

"There are very few people who can come close to claiming themselves to be any better than a shade of gray I'd say I fall into the same vein as yourself, I spent many years doing all that I could to hurt and destroy the people of Earth, unlike you I was no mercenary I did what I did out of spite and rage and because I wanted to and it took another close friend to show me that I could do something different with my life and yet another to bring about a shift in my thoughts on the people of Earth." Jenn said with another heavy sigh, she still often fought over how she felt about her past she knew now that not all of Earth was as vile as she had once thought but still apart of her felt justified for all that she had done to even those who were not her summoners, they were a people from before Seikatsu had begun to guide them and in some way she considered them an entirely different type of people than those who came after Seikatsu and the others took their roles as Guardians.
Jenn's mood lightened significantly as the newcomer agreed to answer her question and appeared even willing to answer other questions provided they stayed away from a sexual nature to which Jenn let out a brief chuckle, she listened intently as he spoke of his travels amongst the stars she knew rather instantly that the travel would for her be little to no problem she was used to FAR longer periods of solitude and had long since mastered the means of keeping herself entertained, even if she somehow lacked access to her world in the ring it would be a simple matter to kill a WEEK or even a months of time such amounts of time had once been like the passing of seconds and even now was she returning to a more normal 'earth world' time schedule as she had spend a still unknown amount of time trapped in her ring.
Jenns eyes lit up at the mention of a ship, a ship that could travel the stars? And the newcomer had one! But then in the same breath he corrected himself 'flew' it meant something was likely wrong with the ship that it would not be able to get off the ground any time soon. She wasn't sure WHY it had excited her so much, she was still trapped here but then the mere idea of potentially just rushing off and maybe just maybe Kemuri would somehow forget she existed and she could be free again for a time. Jenn noted the flask and knew rather quickly it's real purpose and the faint smell of alcohol confirmed it, she smirked at the look of discomfort that passed across the newcomers face as he took a gulp, perhaps he preferred strength of a drink over taste.
"The travel doesn't sound too terrible, and I can scarcely imagine what it would be like to stand on a world that nobody else has ever visited. I think I might have a bit more trouble with those dangerous worlds you described and I apologize but I do not quite recognize those words are they poisons of some sort?" Jenn asked not quite understanding what Xenon Chlorine and Argon were. The thoughts on the poisons quickly faded from Jenns thoughts as the newcomer continued. She frowned slightly at the end however "I never quite thought of it in terms of wanting to make a difference to be quite honest, it was always more about the escape to run somewhere that none of them could ever find me, far into the stars where nobody could reach me. Now.... If I were not trapped here" Jenn gestured to the general area of the castle itself "I don't know what I would do, I don't think I could bring myself to leave I promised him I would protect this world. Though I suppose as I am I'm not in much of a position to do so." Jenn said the word 'him' being a bit more than a mumble as she cast her gaze on the floor rather than at the newcomer.
