Ethan began walking away from the scene and once again Kit was caught between his two responsibilities. Ensure that his opponents received proper medical treatment, or make sure that his brother didn't get into another fist fight. Already the prospect of having him around was looking bleak. He let out a sigh as the officers, who had now focused their attention on the parents of the children whom had started the conflict, left their car. Ethan however continued down the road, openly talking to the air behind him. Taking a few steps forward he was prepared to answer the boys questions. Why he had accepted responsibility, and more importantly why he would never be fighting in the tournament. But a hand on his shoulder caused him to stop. Turning around he found himself face to face with a man in a dark blue suit. His hair was slicked back and let off a gleam in the light thanks to the copious amounts of gel present. He wore thick clear glasses with black rims and when he spoke it reminded Kit of a business man he had met a few days earlier, although they were not the same person.
"I can't believe my boys caused you so much grief! They really are good kids, really!"
Was this man trying to fight Kit. His fist clenched for a moment, he truly didn't want to cause anymore trouble but if he was out for vengeance he would give him the fight he so desired. After all Kit had broken the kids arm, it was only right that his father come looking to settle the score. The fathers tone however was not aggressive, but almost...apologetic. As he spoke it finally occurred to Saito (who had zoned out of what the man was actually saying) that this man was not angry about his childs injury, but rather worried about their safety.
"...But kids will be kids right"
Kit snapped back into the conversation.
"Anyway why don't you just take this and we call it even huh? I mean no need to get lawyers or the police involved right. Boys will be boys and thats all this was, a little scuffle"
Now he understood. He was defending his son not with fists, but with money. He handed Kit a folded check, which he almost turned away. The thought occurred to him however that now he could no longer go from place to place looking for shelter and food. With Ethan around he would need stability. A home, a job, some form of money to give them fresh clothing and food. He was a bread winner. And the nicely written check that was exchanging hands here was more than enough to get them started.
"Of course. I apologize for how things went down here...no hard feelings"
Saito said shaking the mans hand and taking the check in the process. He turned to face Ethan who no doubt had noticed that his brother was no longer following him. The blond quickly moved towards the blue haired boy and with a smile on his face held up the check, and then put an arm around his brother.
"Why don't we discuss all of this over lunch?"
He said, as the two walked away from the scene. Kit had his fill of adolescent drama for the day.
