Opening his eyes after having gotten a few hours of sleep, he noticed that the guards were bringing some animals around to the cages. They were truly feral creatures that tried to attack those within the cells, a scare tactic, but also a show of force. It was a pretty decent tactic to use on most people, and when the beasts found their way to his cell, there was only a smirk to greet them. The creatures didn't understand it themselves, except for what his body language told them, he was the Alpha here and that they were going to be at the bottom of the food chain. This seemed to rile them up to the effect that he wanted as they crashed their heads into the bars, stirring those that had been sleeping to see that they had some extra company in these caves. With that done, it seemed it was time to start the work day as they were led down into some caves lit with dim lighting. Alexander worked as well, more so out of the curiosity of seeing what they were supposed to be collecting than anything else. Sure, a lot of people would think he was crazy for purposely letting himself be enslaved just to see what was going on and then going on to provoke the guards and everyone. The issue there was Alexander never said that he was sane, and who knew for sure where his intentions here would actually lead?
It was while they were mining that one of the other slaves had fallen over, the guards quick to resort to violence to try motivating them to get back to work. The Gigakin followed their movements with brown eyes, studying their movements carefully, he was assessing their skill level. If he was going to free all the people he had been hired to rescue from this place, then he was going to need to figure out the easiest way to go about it. Each one seemed to be of a different skill level, which made sense he supposed, if the slaves assumed the grunts were the best these guys had to offer then they would be taken by surprise which could wreck morale. The guy in charge was pretty smart about how he set the guards up, of course there was a better way to do it in Alexander's mind. Still, he couldn't just let the people he was supposed to be rescuing be completely beaten on even if they deserved it for not fighting. A snap of his fingers and a small lance of fire shot across the vision of the guard holding the whip. A small 'tsking' noise as it had missed his head, but there was a grin instead of any kind of worried expression of what was going on. The guard, however, was taken by surprise when actual flames crossed his vision not having expected that to occur especially not from within the caves.
The man turned to him and was about to say something, but his partner interrupted him and instead decided to speak to Alexander about his actions. “What, are you trying to be a hero here and protect him from getting beaten? Even though that action won't protect him?”
Typical, the guard was a buffoon that didn't understand that the only reason the other guard was still standing was because he had moved from his original position that his fireball missed. “Sorry, but no, the only reason that guy is still alive is because he moved. I was aiming to take him out since he lowered his guard to deal with some random idiot. All I did was take advantage of the situation,” an arrogant smirk formed, he saw the expression of both guards change as he admitted to trying to kill the one. It was fun to see the realization that he was more than willing to kill them when they left themselves open for it. They cracked the whip at him trying to intimidate the Gigakin, but he stood his ground and took the assault as the energy whip caused two cuts across his skin. That brought about a look that made everyone around him take a step back from him, but it wasn't anger they were seeing it was what could only be described as an excited look on his features. They didn't get the chance to do anything as one of the higher ranked guards came and took Alexander from the tunnels, it seemed that the leader had a new way of dealing punishment to the slaves.
Alexander had even volunteered to be the first to test the effectiveness of this new torture method, although not quite in so many words and without actually speaking to anyone. They tied up his arms and legs with a strong material, not quite rope, but it acted similarly. Possibly cables? It was hard for him to figure it out right now, mostly because he was far more interested in seeing what they were going to do to him. Had they learned a lesson about using too light of a treatment with someone like him, he could only hope that was the case. He had plans after all, and he wanted to get the most out of them before he did anything else in this place. Most people assumed that he just took a job and completed it like some ordinary mercenary might do, but he was not a mercenary by any means. He was in fact, a great deal more ambitious than that, and he had plans that would eventually lead to him taking over the entire universe. That was his end game though, for now he needed to concentrate on the first step of his plans, which involved this place. Finally, they revealed what their torture technique would be, which involved the creatures from this morning that were now tied to a post with a cord of their own. It was an interesting technique that they were going to try to use, but they were already doing it improperly, but that was alright as well he could experience things first hand to learn the proper application.
When the first creature took a swipe at him, he could feel the claws sinking in until they just barely missed hitting a vital spot. A smirk crossed his features, it seemed that these creatures were stronger than he was led to believe, that meant whatever leashes they used suppressed their power a great deal. The fact that it reached as far as it had, proved that they didn't know how to properly set something like this up, but that was a non-factor right now. With the slash the creature had created Alexander could already feel quite a bit of blood seeping through and if it kept up like this then it would just be bad all around. Well, if he was going to die like this, he supposed that if it was necessary he could break free but the boredom in him called to test his luck. A grin spread across his lips, as he stayed still letting the creatures slash all over his body, until he could feel his eyelids growing heavy enough that they closed on their own. He couldn't tell how long he had been there or what happened after he passed out, but it was obvious by the discomfort and dry feeling in his mouth that he was still alive. Such a shame, he had wanted to see what laid on the other side of the veil for him, but those were the breaks. There was also something sticking into his arm, which was really annoying and to the point where it caused him to open his eyes.
Looking over to his arm he saw that there was a needle sticking into it, and immediately ripped it from his body, he couldn't trust anyone to not attempt to drug him. Although it seemed that the bag that had been hooked up to him was full of blood, probably for a transfusion, he couldn't be too careful with the people here. Neither slaver nor slave was his ally, he needed to remember that and focus on accomplishing his goals one step at a time. Taking the time to look himself over, he was covered in bandages that went from his torso down to his legs, apparently the creatures tried for something slightly closer once they realized they couldn't rip his stomach out. Pushing himself from the bed, he suddenly found a hand on his shoulder attempting to ease him back down, without thinking he grabbed the arm and twisted to put the owner face down on the mattress. He had them in a tight arm lock with pressure set to dislocate and break it, pausing to see who it was that had touched him, only to find it was the woman doctor having tried to get him to lay back down. Releasing her arm, he sat at the edge of the bed to regain his senses so that his reflexes wouldn't give him away too much. This was close, if he hadn't gotten control of himself he would have snapped her arm easily and revealed that he was more than what he appeared to be which was something he didn't want. The woman seemed to have a level of fear in her eyes from the actions, good that would make sure that she didn't attempt that kind of thing again.
“What was that? You moved faster than I could perceive. Just who are you?” she questioned him in a hushed whisper. Crap, so she had noticed what happened, at least to an extent that she knew he moved at a faster rate than normal people could keep track of easily. Now he needed to figure out a way to explain his actions without revealing himself, this mission was just really starting to not go his way. He might just need to move the steps up in their scheduling to make up for the miscalculations and his own mistakes. His mind raced for a story while he enacted out himself being too groggy to understand what had just happened, confusion crossing his features as he looked to the woman. His expression simply read as 'what do you mean?' and it was with such a sincere meaning behind it, the woman raised an eyebrow at him. “Don't you know what you just did? Are you some kind of soldier?” she asked, the question a curious one, but it was something that he had an answer for and one that was one hundred percent the truth. “No, I am not a soldier,” he spoke, continuing the act of him being groggy enough to not understand what was going on. The woman was being a little to prying right now and he was getting annoyed with it, he would need to distract her with something.
“Hey, did you put something into my IV? I'm feeling really groggy,” he countered with a question of his own, one that seemed to catch her completely off guard. That or she was just as good as acting that way as he was, which meant that he couldn't really trust much of anything that she said regardless of the fact that she might have saved him. With a shake of her head she answered the question, keeping her eyes locked onto his face, which was weird in its own right. “Jeez, you're just a kid and they're putting you through that kind of thing. Of course, you could try not provoking them either, I heard what you did in the mines. Word of someone not afraid to stand up to the guards travels rather fast in this place, especially with you being my roommate.”
A shrug was her answer, he figured that something like that would happen, he might be able to work with some of it and alter his plans accordingly. Although the comment of being a kid was annoying simply because he outwardly looked like a fifteen year old. “Hey, do you know what we're mining here? Maybe that's what's messing with me,” he suggested, he was trying to dig for some information. If he could find out what they mined and a few other tidbits of information, then he could fully enact his plan to leave this place. Although, he was feeling kind of dizzy now, maybe getting up so quickly wasn't the greatest of ideas, and before he could actually move or say anything the woman had moved to help him lay back on the bed. She took the spot next to him once more like she had last night, but this time she seemed a bit more tentative and worried, though the next words from her mouth shattered that mental image of her right quickly.
“Shh, go to sleep. By the way, I might do naughty things to you while you sleep, just a heads up,” the woman had a smirk on her that seemed all too mischievous. He could tell that her words were a joke meant to get him worked up, thinking that he was just a teenage child. Looking up at her, he met her gaze for a moment, “Go right ahead, I won't stop you.” With that, he turned to his side and fell asleep once more, hearing the soft chuckle from the woman beside him. If only she knew how old he really was, that would probably freak her out a bit, someone that had lived longer than she would be able. Technically, she was right though, amongst the Gigakin, those under five hundred years old were considered to be children that were far too inexperienced in the world. It was a good thing that Alexander was not one to believe in that sort of thing, and proved that way they thought didn't apply to him at all. Sure, the whole getting exiled thing was unexpected, but shit happened all the time, what was the point in getting upset about little things?
He had an entire lifetime for him to plan out his strategy for taking everything over, slowly but surely the pieces of his plan would fall into place. His dream was actually filled with such things as taking over the entire universe as well, which was a little odd he had to admit. Generally his dreams were filled with the princesses who he had spent some...quality time with and the times he had visited the many taverns of the different cities. Each one had an ale that was unique to each one, he wondered how they did that at times, but he also didn't care their drinks were amazing. It was a shame that he wouldn't be able to enjoy such a thing again for a while, but it helped to motivate him. The rest of the night was pleasant as he was able to remember such enjoyable things once more, it certainly helped to fill in the boredom of his early life.
