The dark room booms. Flashes of light glimmer sporadically, changing location the same way an electron jumps from one orbital cloud to the next. Ivan's desk rumbles to the clamor of the thunderous battle taking place within the gravity chamber. Occasionally, his red and blue eyes glance at the screen on his table to keep tabs on the battle, but it was often extemporaneous; an offhand gaze to keep himself entertained while he patiently awaited for the far off future to arrive at his doorstep. To him there were only flickers of green light displayed across the monitor, but it did little justice to the true and marvelous effort behind every burst; for each gleam and bustle was actually the result of Model Zero's green saber pit against his foe's weapon in a power struggle of insurmountable energy. That pencil rattling on the table, the cup shaking so vigorously it slides off the desk, that tumultuous uproar which deafened the sound of the cup falling to the floor, -it was all the future's calling, it was all Model Zero slowly transforming into the monster Ivan knew it could be -and it would follow his explicit orders.
The lord also called... Ivan promised Prometheus a warrior at his disposal no matter what the case and his greatest investor has come to reap the benefits of their contract. However, Model Zero was far from the warrior guaranteed, but he doubt that whatever Zex had in store was of any real danger. He was merely exercising his authority over the android. Proving that he had the power Ivan assured, that he only ring the bell and Zero would land at his door mat, bowed to his knees and uttering the words "At your service, master." Yes, this was only a test, the scientist thought as he spun the wine around the concave glass. He brings it close to his lips and sniffs at the soothing aroma. The laboratory grumbles once again like rolling barrels on the rooftop and he proceeds to take a sip from the delicate brew.
"Find it to your liking, sir?" the lizard hissed from the shadows. Walking forth into the light, he's holding a metal container with what Ivan could only assume was more wine. He did not turn on his chair, he could see his colleague's visage clearly reflected on the glass in his hands.
"Doctor," he said, not having detected his presence. The scientist had been deep in thought.
"Did I interrupt something?"
"-No," Ivan assured. "This wine is one of the finest to have ever graced my tongue. It's smell is so soothing and the taste exquisite. I must congratulate you, this is a piece of work."
The Doctor grins and wags his tail playfully, "thank you! I crushed the grapes with my own two feet! Allow me to pour some more."
Ivan could hear his colleagues slushy feet dragging across the floor. The thought of wine prints all over the floor brought a disapproving frown to his once peaceful expression. He didn't like punishing his colleague, specially now that he was so kind as to make him some wine and even pour more, he spoke as subtly as he could. "Please watch your step, I wouldn't want you falling on your own creation."
"Oh yes! I'll sweep that up immediately!" the Doctor said. Ivan smiled and sunk into his chair. Boom! the desk quavers and a pencil falls off and onto the floor.
"He's been at it for hours," the Doctor commented.
"Yes," Ivan said solemnly in his inner silence. He did not speak another word however, he was lost and the Doctor knew this. He had just been left to his own as the battle continued to rage on in the dark little room. The scientist glances at the monitor once more until another glimmer of green presented itself. If he weren't deep in wine, he would have been lecturing his peer about the advantages androids held over mortals like them. He'd say, the reason Model Zero can fight for hours without tiring is because of his mechanical nature. Androids are full of so much potential one could not even begin to describe it and so the best way to do so is by demonstrating it through Model Zero's progress. The words seem lost of others when told that they do not need to be fed, they do not need sleep or shelter, or toys, they do not need affection and they follow everything you say without question. One hears this, but they do not fully understand its implications. They do not understand that androids do not feel any kind of physical or psychological pain, they do not understand that androids can work for extended periods of time in hazardous environments, they don't understand that while a person falls on their knees when running a mile, while they're building up the strength to keep going and eventually get back up only to fall again, the machine is already finishing the second mile and on to the third without any change in its performance. This also means they can train for longer periods of time, while in conditions much tougher than a normal person and -as a result- reap that much more rewards. One would think, the way Ivan speaks of androids, that he wanted to be one himself.
"Let's change the scenery a bit..." Ivan said, reaching across the table for the controls. They seemed farther than they were supposed to, but his eyes saw his hand somehow stretch to meet the distance and his fingers moved on their own. He knew where he wanted to send them, he just forgot how to do it, but his hands remembered. Then, he wondered what it was he was doing before looking at the screen and remembering. His eyes slowly closed, and another's opens...
Boom!
Model Zero and his simulated opponent clash, each fighter jump from their end of the battlefield with their blades pitched against each other. Meeting at a common point in the air, a shockwave emanates from their collision as electric lights flicker at their wake. Promptly after, both forces end up deflecting each other's efforts and they are pushed back to the ground from whence they came, hidden once more by the deafening darkness engulfing them. It was not difficult finding his opponent thanks to the built-in scouter installed into his eyes like an innate function of his very being. Numerous calculations and complex equations running without falter were simplified by numbers and figures displayed in the corner of his eyesight. Certainly, an android could understand the complex processes, but it was much faster and effective to just have the data presented to him compared to interpreting them. His eyes saw distance, 50 meters away; latitude and longitude, he was standing on solid ground; he saw triangles, the pythagorean theorem, degrees and angles; where was his opponent in relation to him and what's the fastest trajectory towards them? Those are the questions answered. When in broad daylight, it's pretty simple. Half the time, if not all the time, the fastest way is simply going straight down the hypothenuse. Anyone without knowledge of mathematics would know that running the straight path is always the fastest, but what if the opponent is out of their point of view? What if they're in black room where they could not even see their hands in front of their faces? Model Zero, despite his vulnerability to the darkness like any other entity, he could still see those relations and approach the enemy as if they were fighting next to the sun. On the other hand, there were things his eyes could still not see regardless of their high definition and other functions the mortal eye could not perform.
Model Zero staggered, confused as the ground below his feet began to shift. Was it a new technique? The coordinates of his opponent had also changed some, although not too much, it was odd. Peering at the sky, it was now adorned and illuminated by thousands of distant stars and clusters. The scenery was like that of the outskirts of Alpha Prime, outside of its atmospheric barrier there was nothing but raw space and rock. The android took cover behind one of the large structures protruding from the meteor. His back against the robust surface he scans the area for any signs of his opponent. Zero exhales silently, a puff of precipitation serving as a testament to the current temperature. They had been at it for hours and Model Zero's body -although immortal and invincible was starting to feel the restrictive effects of the increased gravity. Ivan was going hard on the android, progressively increasing five times more every training session and Zero would have to master that level of gravitational force by the end of the fight. They had attempted increasing it further to maybe ten times or even fifteen times greater than the last training session, the results were not fruitful. Although Model Zero was an android, he was not as intangible as Ivan made him out to be. The truth was, Zero used to be human and now he was just relatively modified to function better; therefore, he still had his restrictions. Last time the scientist tried to make him go at fifty times normal gravity the android was pinned to the ground. It didn't matter what he tried to do but his limbs just would not respond under the circumstances. For the first time, Zero knew how it probably felt to be a paralytic.
Now they were fighting under forty times normal gravity; in the beginning, the android succumbed to the invisible forces working against him. His long and golden hair no longer arched the way it naturally did, instead it plunged straight down and took him with it. His opponent was only a simulation and so it had been manifested with the ability to surpass any gravity level infringed upon it. Zero would have to fight this enemy despite his inability to move; that urgency, the danger of staying still in face of his foe, it is what gave the android the strength he needed to move regardless of the gravity and the heavy weights strapped onto him which were now forty times their own weight. His jacket, the bracers on his arms and legs, each weighting tons plus the added pressure from the increased gravity. Although Zero could probably move his head, the rest of his body was stuck to the ground as if he had spread roots into the ground. He was immovable by his own will. It wasn't until his opponent gave him a nice kick that he was lifted off the ground. Still, in midair, he was unable to perform any kind of acrobatics to lame the fall and crash landed just the same. It was only seconds before the simulated foe cut the distance between them and continued his onslaught before the android could even think about moving. In the beginning of the fight, there was not much to watch except the android trying to muster up the strength to move and then his opponent thrashing him across the dome shaped room. The android then gave up on the idea to stand for the moment since his enemy was so feral, he attempted to raise his pistol and shoot a hole through the bastard to see whether he could gain time to put himself together. However, he was much too slow, an instant later the enemy appeared before him so fast it seemed as though he teleported across the room; Zero could not see because of the pitch black of the room but he saw how the numbers displayed in his scouter spiked, he could also somehow feel the presence of his enemy as he stood above and stared with a defying glare and a big smirk. He could hear the sound of his breath, his boots as they landed inches from his face, and when one of them were lifted from the ground he already knew what was coming. The enemy's foot steps grew fainter and the numbers slightly farther as he walked back. Then, the footsteps grew louder and faster. He was running. He was running really fast. Moments later, the foe's foot rammed into the androids face with lightning speed and formidable power backed by the full length of his simulated strength, forty times his normal weight concentrated and packed in that single kick and the gained momentum from the shot jog which was fast enough to rival a jet plane; with all these factors the kick was more than sufficient to blow an average person's head off and send it flying through the field like a soccer ball, break through the goal's net and go into orbit.
Flying at a thousand miles per hour the android only ever stopped when his back met the chamber's boundaries, and that was the very first quaver caused by their fight. The chamber, from then on, drummed and rolled like a famished stomach, full of crashes and sonic booms, explosions and shock waves at every corner whether it was the enemy moving or kicking the android as he tried to get up. Model Zero would be tossed towards one end of the chamber, rebound off the wall and get kicked again in midair before he could touch the ground. The foe was playing racket ball and Zero was the ball. It wasn't until the android activated his energy barrier that he managed to inflict damage onto the adversary. The simulated foe dashed towards him, Model Zero was sick and tired of being the man's play thing when the jewel on his forehead began to resound and emanate a bright teal glow from which a a forcefield emerged and expanded around the host with destructive power. It was a good thing he had been airborne for the barrier expanded five feet around the android and would have devastated the chamber's floor. To the enemy's misfortune, it was their turn to run into said barrier and only to sent flying back from where he came from, crashing down on the tiled floor. The dark room was briefly illuminated for that ephemeral moment, but the downed enemy gave Zero time to land on the ground with his own two feet and take control over his own body and weight. By the time the foe got back up and charged him, the android was ready to block. He summoned his saber and the green blade manifested just as he slashed at the air and deflected the enemy. Whoever it was, they were made of tough material for the android's blade did not slice through him as it would have but instead bumped into him and knocked him back like a blunt weapon. Another buzz soon accompanied that which emits from Zero's saber and a second blade appeared in the distance. They were green just like his own saber, and from then on the two had been clashing with their swords and intercepting each other's attacks. The opponent did most of the active fighting while Zero simply worried about blocking and parrying his strikes while maintaining on his feet and in control.
Model Zero needed to tame a new level of gravity under extreme conditions while fending off a deadly adversary. Most would have been crushed and flattened to the ground by the mere pressure of the gravity chamber, not to mention the heavy weights strapped onto him which were also increased to forty times their normal weight, and the blows he received from the mysterious fighter were strong enough to decapitate a person and have their skulls reduced to rubble by the time it reached the ground. Sparks fly every time their blades collide, crisps energy -like embers from a flame- emerge with every stroke and interception; shock waves emanate from the epicenter of their collision and rock the entire chamber. Zero had only stood in the center, arching his blade and deciding where his opponent would strike next. The enemy moved fast, struck and then disappeared into the darkness as soon as he came only to come back from another angle and try to get the android from there. Zero had been struck a number of times, but he managed to stay afoot despite being nudged and jerked around by the other's blade. Then, he would start to add movement to his tactics, moving slightly to evade certain attacks and then about an eternity later he would finally start moving at the enemy's speed and clash with him at equal power and strengths; which brought him back to the spot behind the cover Ivan had provided for them by changing the scenery of their battlefield to a rocky plain in the middle of space. He finally had a moment to calm down and collect his mind.
The area grew silent. Although the sky was lit, the ground was still dark as ever; all Zero could see was the silhouette of his hand and he reached for the sky. Then, his scouter began to warn him about his opponent approaching quickly, and behind the shadow of his hand there was another silhouette, that of his energy with his blade pitched towards him. Model Zero hastened and back away from his reach. The enemy collided with the rocky structure he had been using as cover and destroyed it without any problems. Promptly after, the silhouette extended its arm towards him and unleashed a vibrant beam of energy. With little time to act, Zero crossed his arms in front of him and took on the full brunt of the energy wave. His feet dragged back against the hard ground, and two more similar beams of energy were expelled from the warrior, wading away at the android's arms. At the fourth, Zero mustered up the strength to side step out of its way, and then followed through with momentum to evade the ones that came behind it. The energy beams were successive and chronic, trying to catch him at every point he landed, but Model Zero was quick on his feet. It wasn't until he took a wrong step that he was engulfed once again by the troublesome beams. An explosion overcomes the field with extensive smoke and debris that covers the sky itself and hides the stars from sight. Steam rises from the android's torn down body as pieces of armor fall off. In the horizon, he sees a faint glow of energy, admonishing like a harbinger of the coming of another beam like before. Zero arches his saber and prepares to intercept it as it comes. The energy waves roars and rages through the harboring cloud of space dust as Zero's blade cuts through it. He takes a step forward and slashed through another one. He takes another step, two steps, three, and stops to deflect yet another one. Whoever his foe was, they had an ostensibly infinite supply of energy similar to Model Zero's own reserves. Finally, within close-range, the android cuts through the last blast and surprises the enemy with a well-deserved smack around the edge of his saber. The foe is then propelled back against his will and Zero dashes past him to intercept at the other side. Bent and doubled over, the tip of his blade to the ground, Zero awaits the enemy's arrival and swipes upwards with his blade and catapult him into the starry sky where his silhouetted was clearly visible and Zero's hidden among the uniformed shadow of the ground below. From the abyss, the android jumps up high into the air with his blade overhead and slams it on his opponent's back, sending him head first into the rocky surface of the meteor they fought upon. Next, suspended over the air, his chest flies open to reveal a set of hidden cannons which could not be seen until they began to light up individually. An uprising blare resounds throughout the battlefield and in an instant later, a barrage of dozens of energy blasts are unleashed onto the ground.
The battlefield is ransacked and leveled by the multitude of sporadic explosions lifting rubble and dust all over. The ground was illuminated, flashing on and off with every blow, allowing Model Zero to actually observe the grey and cratered surface they had been brought to. The speed and power of his cannons were so powerful they kept his body airborne as if he were hovering, but it was actually just pushing him back against the gravity to keep him in the air. Soon however, the force of his cannons were not enough to keep him in the air as he gradually descended. Forty times normal gravity was far too much, especially with the heavy weights dragging him down. Zero landed idly but alert with his scouter monitoring his surroundings. The area was completely and utterly quiet. Too quiet. In that split moment of peace, he managed to marvel at the lights far off in the distance; a large glass dome harboring the atmosphere and life of a civilization built on a meteor. Over head, a comet with three tails flies among the stars. Zero wrenches the thought about, for he was in a fight and everything was nothing but simulations, he walked towards the cloud of debris as it dwindled down, and then a being emerged from it as if he were waiting for it to happen. Their blades collide and they hold it to a standstill. None of them could see a thing though they were sure that at the other side of the blade they were looking into each other's eyes and they each shared that determined and defying glare. Rising to the sky, Zero could see a dark mist, the steam leaving his opponent's body after having been pelt and trodden by the energy blasts Model Zero had unleashed only moments ago. However, regardless of all of blows they had sustained, they stood before each other stronger than ever. Zero wanted to get even after being subject to his enemy's little game of racket ball, and so, in that short scene they pushed each other aside and separated, they were breaking the ice for another round of ferocious and vicious thrusts of their blades.
Both warriors charged at each other with their respective blade shimmering behind them. A cloud of dirt trailed behind them with every step as they sprint through the distance between them. They were both quite similar when one thought about it. None of them had a past. They were both formed only moments ago, Zero just a few months older than his opponent, they were created with the sole purpose of fighting. Or rather, Zero was created to destroy the saiyans and his opponent was meant to further his progression into the predestined fate set by his masters. Once within considerable range, both fighters gauged the other as they thrust their sabers from either side. The blades kissed and hissed, the force of their strikes pushing the other back with their feet dragged against the ground. With no delay at all, they had already lunged for the second clash and followed through with high-speed slashes and thrusts. Zero ducked under the other's blade and counter with his own, rising up under his opponent. However, the foe was astute and swift, pivoting his body away from the rising slash and countering with his own sword. The android responded with a quick shift of his body, the opponent's blade had gone past Zero's face, the edge cutting through his left cheek. Although superficial, red liquid began to ooze out of his small wound. It was nothing to the android though, he had suffered from injuries far greater. Instantaneously, with lightning fast speed, Model Zero retaliated with his own thrust through the chest. His opponent jerked around his blade, though some part of him had been stricken. The onslaught continued for quite some time, evading and blocking each other's blades blow for blow, parrying and counterattacking, anticipating every move despite being unable to see anything other than the sabers which appeared to float in the middle of the dark. It wasn't until one changed their perspective that they would see the silhouette of an actual being wielding the blade when put against the starry sky as their background.
Regaining consciousness, Ivan's eyes rest over the monitor to observe the development of Model Zero intense training. He smirks, pleased with the results. "He has gotten accustomed to the gravity already," the scientist said. Both warrior's thrusts were so quick, they were nothing but flashing lights to the untrained eyes of Ivan. The two were so vivacious, candescent, it brought a chill down the man's spine and he was thrilled to watch the android's breakthroughs. There was literally nothing he could not overcome in time, his potential was infinite. Their fight became mobile again and they were blindly running through walls and boulders as if they were hollow structures in a movie set. The simulated foe commenced launching various blasts of energy, but Zero evaded them all by hopping from one point to another so fast it appeared as if he were teleporting all over the battlefield. However, Ivan knew the android was still quite far from possession that kind of power; still, the caliber of speed and strength he had achieved unto now during his short existence was more than commendable and it only excited him more to think of the future. It didn't seem so far off anymore, he could actually start to see it through the screen if he focused a little more, if he replaced the silhouette of Zero's enemy with that of a saiyan or any other personas he had been looking into eliminating. The more he looked at the fight, and the more he thought about the future, the closer he felt and the more he began to turn the knob. Model Zero and the mysterious warrior were now in a deadlock of power. Their energy blades were pit against each other and they both put all their weight and strength into overwhelming the other. They pivot back and forth, exchanging the upper hand between equal forces. Ivan could see they were now perfectly even and their struggle had reached an impasse as none would tire out before the other. It had become a battle of attrition and even then, the moment where one would dwindle and weaken was never going to arrive. Zero would not get stronger if he was already at the same level of his opponent, and so, the further Ivan turned the knob, the more Zero's opponent seemed to push him back against his will until the android lost and the simulated warrior thrashed him.
The android drifted back over the ground, using acrobatics, he managed to get back on his feet; although he was confused by the sudden surge of strength the simulator presented. They were on equal ground until the other got stronger out of no where. His scouter beeped as the power level continued to increase exponentially and then he found himself getting beaten to a pulp all over again by a foe who moved much swifter than he. In an instant, the foe crossed 50 yards and slashed through the android's chest. It wasn't until Zero was lying back on the hard rock that he realized he had been struck and sparks were chirping all over the circuits implanted within his body. His scouter went off again, and although he attempted to avoid another blow, he was already propelled into the air by an upward slash of the green saber. His body, limp and airborne with nothing to grab onto, he was vulnerable to the following blows as his foe jumped high into the air and let loose a barrage of rapid strikes. Zero's body jerked to the motions of his opponent's blades, unable to do a thing against it other than activating his android barrier. The jewel on his forehead glistened a teal color, and from its core a shield grew and expanded up to five feet around its host with destructive and relentless power. It was enough to fend the enemy off as he was catapulted back to the ground, but it did not last long as he was already upon the android to continue his assault. It was impossible. The blade whizzed through and he had not even seen it. First he felt the pommel of the sword jabbed against his chest. Zero staggered back, still unbalanced and without control, he needed one more push to fall on his feet, but he received more than a push, he received a smack down.
The energy blade hammered down from above and slammed onto the android's strongest piece of armor -the helmet. The head piece was, perhaps, chipped, but it remained intact. Model Zero however, was pinned against the ground. The foe embedded his sword into the ground centimeters away from Zero's face. The android stared at the buzzing saber, acting as a lamp to slightly illuminate his face. He could see his opponent's outline clearly now that he was put next to the sky above them. Regardless, again, he was unable to see it when it hit him. The warrior, whom was now mounted on the android, pounded onto Zero's face. The ground below him crackled and sunk with the force of his face being engraved into it. That wasn't the only one, another one was delivered just as soon as the other and it crashed like a freight train. Before long, Zero's head was completely submerged in the meteor's rocky surface and he only got deeper and deeper. The ground rattled and shook with every blow, the air was muffled by the daft sound of his fist rammed against the android's visage. Zero clenched at the gravel surrounding him and attempted to pull himself out, but the blows kept coming one after the other without remorse and he was slanted back on the hole they had made for him.
The mysterious warrior shielded by the darkness of their surrounded bashed away at the android as he was helplessly pinned deeper into the ground with every thrust of his fist. Model Zero's limbs were much too heavy to move now that they were immersed into the ground like a prison. They shuck violently, trying to break free from the chains that confined him but the moment he was nearly breaking free of his shackles the warrior's fist saw too it that he was buried further down the abysmal meteor. He would not stop until they were at the cold and dead core of the celestial body they were mounted on. Electricity crackling around his body, the android had sustained great damage in this fight, it was perhaps the longest fight he's had in a very long time. However, he was not beaten yet; although his arms were inaccessible he still had a number of tactics up his sleeve. At this range, the android could easily blast the warrior with a barrage of energy blasts at point blank, and so was his plan as his red jacket cranked open to reveal the bolts on his chest. One by one they began to light up with an uprising siren-like noise resonating throughout the void of space. Unfortunately, the empowered foe simply cocked his fist back and rammed it into the android's stomach. The force of his fist caused Model Zero to keel over, breaking free from the rubble that contained him, but his circuits had been jammed and the cannons damaged. With a second punch in the gut, the cannons were no longer accessible, deemed worthless and neutralized by the warrior's iron fist.
Tsk! The android, now with his limbs free grabbed the man's fist as it came for another blow. His arm shook violently as he attempted to keep it straight, but the other's strength slowly bent it to his will and broke from Model Zero's grasp, ramming his fist to the chin and jerking the Zero's head to the ground. The android grimaced. The emerald jewel adorning his red helmet promptly began to resound a surprisingly teal glow, expelling a powerful barrier that extended with explosive power up to five feet around the host. The coercive barrier force the opponent to back as they were shocked and repelled by its destructive nature. All of the dirt that had been clogging up his joint was now decimated and disintegrated under the pressure of the sphere and left a perfectly round concave crater in its place. Zero's eyes resounded with the crystal, momentarily glowing a teal hue as his mechanisms ascended to his Override state. Energy rising and electricity sparking at the seams as he laid suspended over the ground throughout the duration of his transformation. Scouter reading skyrocket as his power level reaches maximum power output. The lid was removed from the kettle and the boiling water sprung like a turret, supplying him with all of the energy that had been previously stored in his innate reserves.
Finally, his eyes reverted to their dark brown color and the barrier faded, allowing the android to fall on his back. Soon after, he stands from the crater at full power and seemingly vanishes out of thin air. His opponent searches for him desperately. Zero's scouter guides him through the darkness, and leads him standing behind his foe who was oblivious to his presence. He, however, did not teleport although it certainly appeared as he did, it was just his speed had reached such an immense level that the untrained eye just could not follow his movements. Rising his blade high in the sky, the android slams down at his foe's head and sends him crashing down. The blade was met with a thud and the hiss of metal, giving light to the composition of his opponent. He was either a robot, an android, or a creature clad in armor. The mysterious man caught himself in the fall and landed on his feet, immediately he peers at the star-lit sky for any sign of Zero's silhouette, but the android had already vanished, he was charging at him from the ground. By the time his opponent realized it, it was too late. Model Zero lunged forward with a horizontal slash, his blade prepped, his strokes so masterfully executed, he strikes the man's hardened midsection and watches him slump over the blade. Shifting his rear foot ninety degrees to the left, his body follows, pivoting his entire body 360 degrees at the toes and extracting his blade form the man's gut, the android spins and arcs his saber over him in a half-moon as he makes a complete turn and slams the blade of his sword to the small of the warrior's slumped back. This time, it was his turn to eat dirt.
Model Zero then aims his arm at the fallen warrior. His hand disassembles and retracts into his wrist, revealing yet another hidden cannon -but much more concentrated. His wrist lights up as energy gathers and prepares to obliterate his foe. However, the moment his attack went off, the man's body disappeared just as he had before. The beam of concentrated energy detonated on the spot without harming a fly. Zero's long hair fluttering fiercely in the shock wave emanating from the point of impact. Shortly after, his foe appeared once again not too far off and charged at the android with his sword summoned back to the fight. Model Zero took it easy for a while and decided to dodge the man's fight as his hand emerged from his wrist and was reconstructed to its former position. Meanwhile, Zero ducked and shifted side to side as the enemy attacked relentlessly. They were now even again, Ivan had made his power larger on purpose in order to force Model Zero to reach his limit, but of course they had to work their way to that level first as he became accustomed to the new gravity he was set to master in a day.
The man slashed at Zero with his energy blade, but the android dashed through him, blanketed by a scarlet aura. He fazed through his foe and his blade like a phantom, and instead the mysterious man butchered the protruding piece of rock that was meant to corner Model Zero. Zero lift his blade up diagonally, striking the man's back and watching him jerk forward in response to the whipping force of his saber. He was briefly stunned in place before he regained his composure and turned to face the nonchalant android. The man lunged at him and slashed across, Zero held his saber vertically, intercepting the slash as he strolled back to claim back his personal space. His opponent continued to chase him down with ferocious strikes and the android moved back, blocking him with his saber. He tried to read him, tried to figure out what his grand scheme -his ploy, what was he trying to trick him into doing? What kind of trap did he set? Or perhaps they were just mindless strokes of the blade meant to make him lose focus. Tired of his games, the android decided to put an end to their fight as it was beginning to degrade and there was no longer any challenge. Striking fast and hard he manages to fend his opponent off for a slight moment, enough to give him time to step back and prepare for his assault.
While the foe was busy trying to catch up to him, Zero dashed forward once again, his image fazing out as he approached. Model Zero slashed vertically just like before, striking at the man's midsection. However, this time, as the man keeled over the blade, Zero continued forward and left him. Ostensibly disappearing, as was seen to those with the untrained eye, the android dashed again from a different angle, this time slashing up diagonally so his opponent's body jerks up and he is left wide open for more strike to the gut. He vanishes out of thin air. Dashing forward from another angle once again, this time his attack was intercepted by his foe's blade -but no matter, he thought as he disappeared once again. He could alway try again. This was the first time Model Zero attempted such a tactic and it seemed to be a successful one. Repeatedly dashing at his opponent while striking and then disappearing was a good way to wane away at their strength while causing a reasonable amount of damage. It was also quite difficult to counter and he would vanish quickly, not giving his enemy a chance to strike back before he came in once again to attack from another angle. He was nothing a but a red blur to the enemy, and his movements were anything but predictable. He could pop up anywhere and strike, his blade could be positioned at any point of the clock and thrust in a different way every time. Some of his attacks were even fainted; just when the enemy thinks they were starting to get a hang of it, Zero disappears where it seemed like he was about to strike again, but in reality he was just distracting them from his real attack as he lunged from another angle. There were so many combinations to his tactic, it was a perfect mix of his two most used techniques. Using his Saber and Dashing ability alone, he had patented a formidable technique. When he got tired of thrashing his opponent he dropped down from above and sent him pillaging to the ground.
This time he would not escape. The android's hand retracts into his wrist again like before and the cannon glimmers with an abundance of energy quickly charging up to form a sphere of yellow ki. It is soon expulsed from his arm and the energy wave rumbles as it desecrates everything and anything around it. It booms like a torrent of indomitable energy illuminating the dark sky in its glory and his foe pinned to the ground. He struggles to his feet, pulling his limbs free one by one, his body quivers and twitches with electrical currents spiking at every movement he made. Unfortunately for him he was unable to break loose in time and was soon consumed by the android's energy wave. His body creaks as the metallic parts begin to rust and strain to the contorting pressure of Zero's Hell's Flash technique eating away at any kind of garment the man sustained and soldering the metallic pieces to any flesh he may have. His screams could be heard even through the deafening sound of his raging blast. At last, the energy wave revolts and implodes into a vast explosion forcing the android to step back against his will. The light was strength was immense and the pieces of rock blown away peck at his face and armor, they moved fast enough to cause small bruises and scratches as a result of his own attack, but they were nothing he could not handle.
After the attack settled down there was complete silence in the air; perhaps too silent. Zero's blade remained steadily at his side in case he decided to come at him. There was no fooling the android, his scouter kept live data on his foe and he knew he still dwelled among the cloud of debris, probably buried under a pile of space rock. Zero core sparked with sporadic currents of electricity traveling from its circuits. His armor was also worn down and chipped in the events of their eternal fight that seemed to have no end. He had received countless beatings in the past twelve hours while Ivan and The Doctor were busy doing who knows what. But it did not bother him. It was not as if the android were suddenly tired. It was not as if he were bored or bothered that his masters were enjoying themselves while he slaved away with this masochistic and suicidal creature they had matched up against him. It wasn't like he was even capable of emotions such as joy anyway. It would have all been wasted on him, who was incapable of feeling any kind of emotion. Everyday was only him accumulation experiences, getting stronger for the sake of his superiors so he may one day meet their standards and realize their dreams. Because they were much too weak -or perhaps lazy, to do it themselves. Instead, they depend on a machine who has lived for less than a year as far as he and anyone else was concerned.
As the dust begins to subside, the android could start to see the shadow of his foe lurking within. Zero raises his arm again and releases a second stream of energy from his wrist. The area is leveled by the vast explosion resulting from Hell's Flash collision. It was unknown whether he managed to make a direct hit as there was still many obstructions in the air, but he was sure the foe was caught in the after effects of his techniques. The scorching heat emanating from his beam was like standing next to a baby star. Waiting a few seconds, he launches a third energy wave, a fifth, a sixth... by now his energy supply was running low and the android would have to cease fire until it was replenished. The notion of possessing an unlimited power supply meant he could continuous regenerate new energy even after it had all been exhausted. Unlike the biological being who had to get their energy from some kind of food source -say, a senzu bean or just food and water, the android could create it on the spot and continue fighting even after spending it all in one go. However, this did not mean he could just toss ki blasts all day long without at least a minute of recharging.
While Model Zero stood idly by and observed the battlefield for any signs of movement, during this ephemeral window of opportunity, the knob was turned again. Ivan grinned. "Very good Zero, keep up the good work." The android had gotten very strong now, but because of this, he was not gaining much from the fight as he was before. The benefits were decreasing with every minute and he was not being challenged in the least bit. At least, not anymore, anyway. The scientist made sure to change that, for every inch the knob turned was more power for his enemy. Every inch was a digit rising in Model Zero's scouter. The android lowered into a readied stance as he observed the numbers rise past his own power-level, wondering when it would finally stop. When it did... he was there, and it was gruesome.
With the flick of a finger, Zero's body ricochet across the battlefield while breaking the wind barrier at the process. His limbs were immobilized by the great amount of pressure forced upon him by the speed at which the air and breeze brushed over him. He might as well be buried under the ground for it was all the same. His body still in motion, the foe followed him with devilish speed; matching Zero's velocity, the warrior grins widely and strikes up the android's back with his blade, catapulting him high into the starry sky. Eventually, his body would begin to decelerate what with the gravity being forty times the usual and his heavy weights forty times its load holding him down at every limb, his chest and his helmet, and soon he began to plummet back down. Unfortunately, they were not able to implement a float system for him as of yet despite Lord Zex requesting it. The system was too complex and it would take much longer than it is accustomed to develop an effective model. The scientists were now gathering all of Zero's stored battle data along with this one to study his movements and formulate a blueprint that suits his fighting style best. While they did that, Ivan focused on brainstorming how he was going to make Model Zero's power spike to unnatural levels by the time he and Zex meet again.
They were now pulling all the stops to ensure the android's performance was improved in time for his very first mission assigned by the Lord himself. Regrettably, he would not be able to fly in time for the mission, but plans were set in motion to make sure that the time he spent from today and the destined day that he would be at his optimum considering his current power-level. Then, when he returned, the rigorous training sessions and modifications would continue. Ivan was rethinking the android's entire model, but there was a missing piece to the puzzle and he could almost taste it as it caressed the tip of his tongue.
Airborne and helplessly useless, the android simply waited for his aggressor to make do with him as he sees fit. In one powerful leap, the mysterious warrior propels himself off the ground with a shock wave undulating at his wake. The ground tremors and rubble is blown away from the point of take off as he soared through the air with utter ease. Ivan wanted to observe exactly how useless the android would prove to be when faced against a superior warrior who was able to fly, and so, with the click of a button, the man's body underwent a swift transmutation and dual jet-packs sprouted from his back like a pair of wings. Promptly after the engine starts and the mechanisms within it begin to spiral rapidly; incinerating flames burst through the rocket dispenser, adding to the man's initial leap and thrusting him higher and faster into the heavens. Zero maneuvers in the air with his lithe body. The opponent intended to make a hit and run strike, but he missed by a hair. No matter, however, that didn't change the fact that Model Zero was yards away from any kind of surface from which he could support himself. The android was a fish out of water falling to its demise and the foe changed direction, rushing towards him with his blade propped behind him.
In a flash, the enemy soared past the android. He slammed the sharp end of his blade against the android's stomach, Zero bends over and his opponent keeps moving on without him. The fibers in the android's body were strong enough to repelled most of the sword's effect, but a streak was left on his midsection and blood began to trickle out. Before, Ivan had to wipe Zero's memories out of every time he bled because he feared that the android might connect it to his origins, but he fixed that problem by telling him that they were nothing more than insulating liquid pumped into his body, and the color red was to make him fit in more with the mortals. That, however, was ludicrous considering Zero's entire body was covered in armor. He couldn't fit in even if he wanted to. Regardless, he would not question his master's words, now he could bleed all he wanted without collapsing into some kind of existential crisis.
Turning around just as fast as he came, the foe repeated the onslaught, striking the android similarly as before but from another angle. How ironic. The simulation had imitated Model Zero's new technique by incorporating it with his new weapon. Because it was a simulation, it acted as though it could fly all along and the learning process was completely avoided. He fought masterfully in sync with his new features and executed its attacks to perfection. Fading into the darkness, the warrior assaults Zero from numerous locations; he dives in, strikes, and vanished, then he repeats incessantly while all Model Zero could do was wait until he reached the ground and attempt to intercept the man's attacks as much as he could. Of course, being skilled with the blade, the slim warrior was able to block and deflect a reasonable amount of attacks, but he had also suffered considerable damage. His entire body was covered in scratches and wounds, his body twitched with electrical currents whipping at him as he fell petrified towards the ground. However, the foe was not yet done demonstrating just how big the power gap was between those who could fly and those who couldn't.
The android arched his blade to block the impending strike, only to learn it was a farce. The enemy faded out of view, and before his scouter could even warn him, the opponent snuck behind him and unleashed a barrage and rapid sword-strikes. Zero's body jerked helplessly to the rhythm of the man's blade. Any attempt he made to counter was dismissed by the swing of his sword. Holding his sword back for a split second, giving the android a chance to react, the enemy struck with all his might and propelled the android higher into the air when he thought he was almost done. The mysterious fighter followed him with his jet-pack and stopped the android's displacement with the mere boom of his body halting in place. He restarts the same barrage and blasts him off to the other corner of the galaxy, only to meet up with him, strike a few more blows and send him back. The man continued the process, playing ping-pong with the android. Zero was the ball. Again...
On the screen, it was completely dark as usual except for the multiple dots scattered in the sky. However, there were now sudden bursts of white light spawning in impromptu locations. Each burst was the result of the warrior's blade striking Model Zero as he sent him on an endless voyage around the meteor. The flashes of light were accompanied by deafening booms that caused the very ground to quaver under its intense pressure. Ivan chuckled, the scene was quite amusing to watch his prized and over glorified machine get swat around like he was nothing. But he was also studying the fight with utmost scrutiny. Every second he watched proved just how futile the android would be without the ability to fly. It was such a basic and fundamental ability, most fighters already mastered it, and although it demonstrated simple domestication of energy, it was a very effective technique. Those who possessed it had the doors of heaven opened to them, the ability to see farther than others and lead them to victory. Ivan would make sure they grasped it so they may become kings themselves.
Boom!
Another shock wave rocks the battlefield and fills the sky with its deafening growl. Model Zero is stricken yet again by the mysterious foe's energy blade and sent plunging head-first into the ground. Dust and rubble part ways at his arrival, the ground craters around him forming a new little hole for the meteor where he lay silently without moving a single muscle. The warrior lands not too far away, he observes the android cautiously from afar, peering eyes wary of any sudden movements. However, as Model Zero lay with his face to the ground he found it hard to command his body as it did not appear to be responding to his orders. His limbs twitched and slowly dragged over the dirt as he attempted to bring them in front of him and then push to lift his face from the ground. His entire body was adorned by multiple cuts and slashes, his armor was falling apart as he stood and his legs shook violently. He could start to feel the effects of the gravity and his heavy weights as if he were starting all over again. He body was no longer functioning as it was supposed to and that brought great problems to the android as his opponent slowly but surely approached one step at a time. His blade was ready at the side and his gaze was fixed on the torn down android. The wind blew past them, inviting his hair to dance despite the dreadful scene.
Model Zero could barely move with the currents of electricity sparking at his joints, but he willed his body to move anyway as he dragged himself out of the hell hole his unceremonious fall had produced. His eyes stared back at his opponents with a sharp glare to it. Of course, the entire area was pitch black with exception to the skies above, so all they were really looking at were their respective silhouettes. However, with all the energy attacks and light shows, they had glimpsed enough to know the general appearance of either one, and even though his eyes peered at a faceless figure, he could recreate a mental picture in his mind and know they were glaring at each other's throats. Then, they stopped. Both figures made a complete halt and stood in their respective positions for what seemed like a full minute. Perhaps they were ruminating, preparing for the final showdown, but they both knew how it was going to end. Regardless, neither of them would back down until they were no longer able to move.
Zero summoned his saber once again and the green blade manifested with its soothing hum that buzzed through the quiet night sky. His hands tighten, tension rises, Ivan's stuck to the screen like glue and The Doctor gazes from behind. His opponent does the same, moving his blade into position and reassuring his grip on the handle. They both lower and adapt a stance owned by themselves, although Zero's was a bit more sloppy. It was hard enough to stay afoot -much less actually more or hold a certain position for extended periods of time. On the other hand, his opponent's power-level was higher and he had sustained great damage. Posture and proper sword play was of utmost importance in this final cross of the blades for they were about to put their all in that last stroke. It was sudden, but it hit them at the same time as they instinctively lunged forward in synchronization. Clash!
...
"Today's training session was intense..."
"...indeed, Model Zero fought commendably and his strength has no doubt increased drastically."
"How many hours has it been?"
"I lost track..."
The android lay unconscious in a table within the laboratory. His body was thrashed thoroughly by his simulated opponent whom Ivan had kept making stronger. His intentions were to force him to his limit every time he surpassed his foe. It was like climbing a great wall, only to find out that there was an even greater wall at the other side. His methods would have killed any other being, but that was the advantage androids held over mortals. They could endure much more strain than they could and still stand up and keep fighting until they couldn't no matter how much they ordered their body to move. Automated machines worked on the android with specific tasks as they rebuilt him and fortified him, restoring him to his former self.
Above the table in which he slumbered, there was a wide screen displaying a blue print of Model Zero's body, and another blue print with his prospective upgraded body -how he would look after his transformation. However, there was a missing piece to the puzzle and Ivan was biting off all of his nails trying to figure it out. He wrote the equations multiple times, erased everything and started from the bottom and yet he could not solve it. He was stuck on that one crucial step and it was killing him. He even asked The Doctor, his colleague, to look over it and see if there was anything he missed, he asked the aides and the aides's aide, but they all claimed that his procedures were flawless. Nobody knew why his equation was at a standstill. Whatever that missing element was, it was standing between him and Zero's ascension to greatness. Lord Zex said he expected the android to be more than just a tenth of his brother's power-level next time they met in the arena floor, and Ivan intended to deliver with utmost generosity. The Lord would be so shocked and awestruck by their magnificence that he would bow down to Ivan and admit his inferiority to the scientist. -Well... it was nice to dream at least.
The lab was dark, all the lights were off except for the big monitor displaying Zero's body in different profiles. The room was completely silent, the only sounds were those of his helper robots working on the android as he lie disconnected on the table, and the soothing hum of the computer's engine. He felt so peaceful sitting in the dark, but his mind was burning neurons trying to figure it out. Not only was he trying to solve that equation and upgrade the android to unnatural levels, but he had to find a way to create an efficient and battle worthy float system Model Zero would be able to use as a new traveling option, and an added extension to his fighting tactics. Being able to fly made a huge difference, and it was made evident today with the previous battle. It would also please Lord Zex and invite him to continue investing in the android so he may continue to grow with unbounded potential. It would be very unfortunate if the android were to meet with a foe who was able to lift him in the air just as Zex did back in the coliseum. It was so effortless, yet so effective at completely disarming Model Zero and rendering him useless; exposed to any attacks his foe might consider. He could have been torn to shreds if he so desired.
Another piece on his list, was to somehow imitate Wrath's Black Sun technique. The sheer ferocity of his attack was so mesmerizing, it left the scientist with a deep yearning to obtain that power for himself by enabling it unto Model Zero. So many plans were being set in motion. The android would most certainly become unstoppable soon enough. It brought chills down his spine. He just couldn't wait.
[requesting PL. heavy weights, simulator, 40x gravity]
New technique:
Name unknown for the time being: Using his Dash ability and his Saber, the android lunges at his foe with blinding speed and strikes with his sword. He then vanishes and strikes from another angle in a similar manner for several more times.
