Planting his feet, his aura came to life once more and this time stayed in effect as the energy sparked out into the air around him, it was time for him to raise his power level to a more appropriate level. His power pushed away the air around him violently as it rose to a new height for this battle, rising to thirty thousand exactly before halting its sharp climb. "Alright, let's do a few more exchanges and see if you can understand what I'm talking about then," he shifted into a fighting stance, from here he would be showing Zero something that he probably wouldn't understand. Still, maybe it would start the android into developing his own personality, especially if they wanted him to be effective at whatever was his job. If he couldn't learn and adapt he would never rise above anyone else, that was the truth of the universe as it came, there was no perfect program.
Ivan thought it was a good idea to taunt the saiyan, and now he was standing before them with what they could only assume was his full power. The thought of attempting to fight him head on was inconceivable, he thought. Numbers do not lie -and with his odds, Man failed to see what it was that the saiyan wanted to demonstrate when he already knew the past, present, and future. Nevertheless, Man gripped his pistol and aimed it at the figure from afar. His plan was to revert back to long-distance fighting where it was more feasible to believe that he possessed a remote possibility of grazing his opponent. The android would commence by aggravating and eluding the saiyan with energy bullets as he swerved in the pit-less void. With each step he would approached the saiyan and summon his saber in the last second, where he would strike Conri's back and then strive to abscond like a phantom in the breeze.
Bullet for bullet, they imploded and spread flickering light throughout the entire chamber. Man traveled in large leaps from one blast to the next as he made his way to Conri's back. The saiyan was sidetracked by his energy bullets as expected and ostensibly unaware of his presence. He didn't move from his spot and instead fired a Ki Blast of his own following the pattern of bullets point for point as small explosions erupted from the colliding energies. In that last step, Man lunged forward, pulling his saber from behind with all the momentum it carried and diced through the air, where the saiyan once stood. Man gazed towards the roof. How did he know? The android wondered. There was no way he could have detected the android's presence unless he wore a scouter -or so he reasoned-. He was just about ready to pull the trigger and prepare another assault, when the saiyan echoed an odd request.
"Not too shabby overall, Zero. I have an interesting trick to show you though, so hold still for four minutes while I prepare. Don't worry, I don't have any intention of taking a cheap shot at you," the saiyan began to channel his energy like before, while asking Man to stand by. He had no reason to deceive him, Man thought. His power-level was already at an overwhelming level on its own, and the battle was set in the context of a spar. Therefore, Man decided to comply with his request and lowered his pistol. Under different circumstances, he would have never done such a similar thing. The chamber began to shake vibrantly at its core, but not yet enough to knock Man down. The android stood steady, and his disassociated gaze focused on the shining ball of energy bulging above. Man squint his eyes as an attempt to cope with the pressure of the saiyan's might. His power level grew incessantly to the point that electricity sparked throughout his body and burned his scouter's processor.
Man, clad in armor, rushed to the edged of the gravity chamber with his back to the wall. His built-in scouter had stopped functioning, but even so, nothing could have saved him from this one. For the first time, he was made to judge with his own eyes, unaided by the mechanisms which were joint to him at the moment of his awakening. He gazed with slitted eyes, observing the sphere above. It felt weird to look at the world without the constant beeping he was so accustomed to, and the figures and numbers which shifted in his lenses and warned him about everything there was to worry about. It all seemed so dull somehow, as if something were missing. But the more he searched and searched, he couldn't find a thing. Zero gnashes his teeth concluding that his efforts were in vain. And immediately after, as if it were specifically waiting for the android to comprehend his situation, the compressed ball of energy expanded.
There were two of them. The first, Man barely noticed as a nearly invisible force oscillating in the wind. It was unavoidable. And it was only a harbinger for the true destruction that followed closely behind it. The wave faded through the android and past the walls of the chamber. It spread to the rest of the facility and beyond, shutting down the lights of streets of several blocks -but most importantly, shutting down the laboratory. The controls began to go haywire and sparked over their monitors. Ivan staggered back as they each began to burn out one after the other in consecutive but short explosions. "Damn him!" the scientist cursed, slamming his fist on the monitor. He was lucky his aides thought ahead and started backing up all of their files, but it would still take plenty of time for them to recuperate from today's events. The doctor stood silently behind him. All he could do was offer a pat on the shoulder and hope it would serve of some solace. But now they were cut from the fight, unable to witness the horror Model Zero was about to endure...
His eyes widened. It was his first time Man experienced an electromagnetic wave. It was like nothing he had ever felt before and he had no idea of how to cope with it; that is, if it were even possible. His limbs spread, paralyzed beyond comprehension as static coursed throughout his mechanisms. He trembled. His vision blurred and dimmed. He felt his systems starting to malfunction as everything began to slow down before him. It was like the gentle but persistent hand of a woman, forcing open the mouth of a lion. The lion could struggle all he wants, but it was only a matter of time before he tired and the woman force her will upon it. There was no real way to fight it -he didn't know how. Gradually he felt his consciousness sway as it hung by a thread. His mind flickering like the screen of a broken television.
The second wave struck the lion down. It came at a distance, burrowing through the ground as it approached with all its destructive power. It tore away at the most superficial layer of the chamber's floor and the domed walls that held it in like a plasma globe. The lightning rippled, growing ever nearer, and he was helpless to do anything against it. Finally, after building up the suspense, Man feels the vine's sharp sting. "AAAGH!!" He yelled. The very first yell he had ever made, forced by the hand of a saiyan. He had never been so loud in his life. But his scream was cut short by the sharp static vibrating throughout his being. His voice throbbed. His body was stripped of most of its armor as the lightning drilled into him sporadically. His senses took turns switching on and off. The room flashed black and white in his eyes. Sound seemed to fluctuate from static to screams to the chirping of a thousand birds.
Soon enough, the lightning finally subsided and Model Zero was free to drop. He collapsed on his knees, and his arms lay blandly beside him. His golden blond hair muddled over his face, concealing his grayed out eyes gazing at the ceiling. Electrical currents stirred and cackled over his shattered frame as steam rose from the etches of his skin.
Aides mobilized in teams, gathered on a common table they were deep in thought as they contemplated the engineering aspect of two new mechanism that would aid Zero in his future battles. Meanwhile, two other groups were going over the final steps of another pair of equipment that would be installed into the android. Overall, they were multitasking on four different projects -two of them proving to be extra promising for they originated from Model Zero's previous battles. They were working on the final touches to finalize the development of these machines. Everything was still in its early phases so they weren't very optimistic about the results, but they would learn plenty from it and then go back to the drawing board in order to formulate new concepts. Ivan was working on a computer himself, typing rapidly through the keyboard, solving some problems and codes. The Doctor was busy with quality control to make sure everything was at peak condition.
Elsewhere, in the gravity chamber, Model Zero was taking a head start in his training with the gravity spiked up to forty-five times the normal level. The simulated had created a number of faceless opponents that would pursue him while he attempted to overcome the pressure pinning him to the ground. His feet dragged on the floor and screeched with the metal of his boots grinding on the white tiles. One of the simulated foes lunged in from behind with their four-talons spread and ready to slice through his slim body. Activating his dash technique, the android jumped into the air while enveloped in that distinct scarlet glow that outlined and traced his movements as he performed acrobatic maneuvers in the air. This was the part where he countered with one of his sword techniques, but the time he spent in the air was too short and instead he fell back to the ground immediately after the foe had harmlessly whizzed past under him. Zero landed on his knees and hands propped in front of him to maintain his balance. Another one was coming his way as if on queue, giving him no time to gain control over his condition. Using the gravity to aid him under these desperate moments, the android rolled to the side, evading the other's assault by the skin of his teeth.
As he rolled, Zero released his energy sword, the green saber buzzed through the thin air to meet and intercept that of his third opponent who was trying to sneak up on him after that last dodge. However, Zero had detected him long before he landed on the ground. All of his movements were calculating ahead of time, and that was why he was able to predict the fourth warrior coming up from behind him, the fifth falling down from above with his claws pitched against him and even the sixth one sneaking up behind the fourth as a distraction. In that split second, Zero lowered his body in a stance necessary to gain momentum from the ground and his very being ostensibly disappeared out of thin air as the group caved in on themselves. Zero had used his high-speed abilities to break the fabric of space and move out of their sight. He was now in the air, using warrior number five as a stepping stone as he planted the heel of his foot on the top of his head. The thing's eyes gazed up in utter surprise and promptly slashed its claws to maim the android, but Zero promptly propelled himself higher and sent him spirawling down towards the others who had piled up where Zero had been previously standing.
In the air, the android was pretty susceptible to attacks, but that didn't mean he couldn't defend himself. His slim and lithe form allowed him to manipulate his position in space regardless of not being able to actually move from one point to the other. Because of this, even as a parade of energy bullets were shot his way, the android deflected them with lightning-like speed and skill by whipping out his pistol and taking them out one after the other like target practice. Then, like a hawk, the seventh soared down to take him, but Zero rose his sword up and fend him off long enough to reach the ground again above the pile of fighters he had left at his wake. The soaring enemy veered and turned in the air, redirecting its body so it was diving down with its nose to the ground. Model Zero skipped off the mountain and evaded the air-strike, instead, airborne warrior ran into its comrades and collided into a dust-filled smoke cloud.
Zero was now falling again as he realized the landscape had been changed. They were no longer in that white dome-shaped room. The skies were red and clear for as far as his eyes could see and the wind brushed against his golden hair as he fell. Mountains and bluffs rise like skyscrapers, piercing the sky with their gargantuan structures, orange rocks molten by the heat of the two suns generated by this simulated world. One farther than the other, yet steam rose from the cracks of the boiling mountain range. Soon after, the android tounched down to solid ground. His body crouched with the fall, bending his knees and pivoting his body forward to the point his face almost touched the ground. He held the position, fighting against the increased gravity and his heavy weights pulling him down and forcing his body lower. His scouter was beeping frantically as his foes were descending upon him like a flock of ninja warriors and Zero dashed forward in that split second, evading their attack from above.
In that sudden movement, Zero was no longer able to hold his footing and flipped over. He controlled the fall with his hands and feet, rolling once before his feet were planted on the ground and drifting back against the sweltering dirt. Before him were an army of warriors, each with different fighting styles, weapons, and skills. The android stowed away his energy sword and pistol, releasing the cannons in his wrist as his hands collapsed inside it. Boom! The ground levels and vibrates, roaring the power of Hell's Flash as it decimated anyone and anything that came apon its path. The group spread and attacked from both flanks while those who could fly did so from high above. Zero unleashed three more beams of energy, scattering their forces more as they evaded to the side. Perhaps it was not such a good idea, as they now had him surrounded and no single beam of energy, no matter how destructive, it could not hit them all.
Zero side-stepped back and forth to evade the ground soldiers as they lunged at him with their diverse weapons; swords, claws, guns, fists, kicks, ki blasts, spears, there were all kinds of fighters trying to subdue him but the android danced among them. He ducks, avoiding the flyers from their tendency to decapitate their opponents, they were the real threat. And then, there were the heavy hitters who kept their distance as they charged their attacks and unleashed it on the masses. Zero knew when it was coming -not just because he could detect them with his scouter, or because he could see their fleeting image off in the distance, but because everyone parted ways when it did and that freed up space for him to evade. He used his foes like stepping stones again, climbing them like a ladder as he reached higher ground and escaped the blast radius as the beams of energy devastated the land and enveloped them all in a band of blinding light and ferocious winds.
"Zero! The first one is ready!" Ivan spoke out through the mic. His voice spawned from the red skies above, and as he dropped back down towards the ground, he detected a slight flash in the sky. It was the reflection a something they had delivered from up above. Reaching his hands, he would soon learn it to be a small capsule. What it did he was not sure, but he knew it was meant to help him in his fight. The android pressed on the button of the while bean-like capsule and tossed it down. One... Two... Three... Four... Five... KABOOOMM! the capsule self-destructs in display of lights and engulfs everything around its perimeter. The foes were dragged towards its center like a black hole, and then released all-together into a blithering kabang that cast the winds of hell and thrashed even Zero, sending him alift and crashing into a nearby bluff with his hands spread at its side. Disastrous, the calamity caused by the blast radius leveled the land like deadly granades, reaching up to a mile away.
Ivan thought it was perhaps a bit too strong, and wrote down notes to add a limiter to the capsule so the blast radius would be reduced. The idea was to create small grenades Zero could hide and take with him on his missions.
"All right, drop the second one," the scientist ordered.
Zero peered at the sky as he descended towards the ground and saw a second capsulized weapon dropping from the heavens. Half of the forces fighting against him were wiped out in that blast, including the airborne warriors as they were dragged into doom against their will. If Zero had been a littler closer when it happened, he might have gotten caught in the explosion himself. Reaching up for the capsule he would have to be more careful about using it. Zero aimed his wrist at the foes approaching him and released another Hell's Flash at them, some of them were hit but the others continued on strong until it was pointless to keep going. Zero's hand reformed over the wrist as he was not using another energy wave. His enemies surrounded him and lunged at him all at once. The crystal on the android's forehead activated and summoned the android barrier Ivan had installed in him a while ago now. The barrier expanded five feet around him and decimated anything it touched, disintegrating the ground below him and repelling his foes. The extra distance granted him time to run towards the bluff and run up its vertical walls as he yearned to increase the distance between him and them. The land dwellers would find it hard to catch up to him, but the airborne fighters would reach him in no time.
Suddenly, a spark of lightning flashes past the side of his face and burns the molten rock he climbed. Zero peered back alarmed. One of the flying warriors wielded the ability Conri demonstrated back then, the ability to harness electricity -although this one was weaker because he was not around the gravity chamber like Conri was, so there were fewer sources from which to grab electricity and toss it at the android. Last time he got struck by such a technique, the android's circuits were fried and his entire body immobilized by it shear strength and power. Multiple strikes continued one after the other, leaving burnt marks at their wake and Zero jumped from one stepping slab of the rock to the next as he dashed out of harms way and continued to climb the bluff.
"Alright Zero, we're sending the last two now," Ivan voiced again. Zero hadn't even had the time to use the last capsule they sent him in fear of getting destroyed by his own attack. But as the object flashed in the sky, he realized it wasn't just another capsule, it was a pair of metal wings soaring down from the heavens to grant him the ability to fly. After that last thrust of thunder breaking throught he rocks of the mountain side, Zero timed his jump into the air and allowed the device to attach itself to his back. Ivan spoke through the mic again and the android listened to his explanation. The wings were bolted to his back and began installing as he lay suspended over the air. There was also an additional program which was patched along with the wings, so he had potentially gained two new techniques. By the time the enemy turned and started flying towards him, the wings finished installing and Zero was jetting across the skies at high-speeds. His hair whizzed and flaunted frantically in the air, he was but a red and yellow blurr flying in the sky, and although it seemed as if it were on purpose, he was actually flying out of control for he had no idea of how to control his new ability.
The foe staggered, unsure of how to approach the android who had been soaring too fast for him to follow. Eventually, Zero managed to stop himself in the air and he looked down unpon them from high above. At this distance, it wouldn't be a problem using the capsule, he thought. And so, pressed on the button, he tosses the capsule down to witness its terrifying prowess. One... Two... !?
This time, it didn't take five minutes, it took approximately three minutes for the capsule to activate, but it was not a devastating explosion which threatened to dismantle the very user, it was an energy net meant to subdue its opponents. But at this distance it was much too far to prove useful. And so, his opponent curved around the net and pursued the android. Zero started moving as well, but as soon as he did, he lost control again and dashed through the air like a jet-plane on steroids. He was diving down towards the ground where the other's were just waiting for his arrival. Bullets rising but far from causing any damage, because he was moving too fast for them to prove any real threat.
Since he was unable to make any kind of intelligible moves, the android activated the hidden cannons in his chest as the red jacket cranked open and dozens of energy blasts ejected from his chest and rained down on the land below to take down whatever resistance was left. Promptly after, his wings began to fidget around out of control. Electric currents sparked from the seams and the thing self-destruct, launching the android head first into the ground. The float system was a failure for a number of reasons, the capsule grenade needed a few tweaks and the energy net was perfectly find as it was just a simple restraining technique method which could be used in tandem with a number of Zero's growing abilities. There was only one final move to test and it was the perfect time to do so as the last foe descended from the air. It was charging a large sum of electricity similar to what Conri did back in their previous encounter. Ivan knew the wings probably wouldn't function properly on the first go; they needed multiple calibrations and fixes to make before it was ready, and the other two capsulized weapons were a walk in the park. This entire training session was really about whether or not they could deflect the electromagnetic wave the saiyan had unleashed upon them during his last visit.
"Zero!" He called, "It's time to deploy your final upgrade. It was already installed along with the wings. Just think about it, it will emanate from the crystal on your forehead." He buzzed out.
Model Zero did as he was told. The crystal on his forehead glimmered a teal glow, but he was not ascending to his heightened Override state, nor was he activating his Android Barrier. Instead, he was activating a new type of barrier. It creased over him like a second skin, enveloping his entire body as it emerged from the crystal. It was an Anti-Radiation Body Barrier designed to do as its name dictates, block out radiation and protect Zero from another electromagnetic wave like the saiyan used on him once before. Later on, the barrier would be modified to protect him against sharp weapons and other kinds of attacks, but for now the focus was solely on stopping that troublesome attack.
The electricity sparked between the airborne warrior's fingers, illuminating them in this already bright atmosphere. The entire battle was reaching its close and Zero's body had sustained just about enough damage to call it a day. He stood with his chest stiking out, waiting for the attack to come and learn whether the barrier would prove to be a success or another failure like the wings they gave him. In one single thrust, the lightning rippled through the air and struck the android. The barrier didn't even last a second before it shattered and allowed the lightning to enter. His body was stripped of most of its armor as the lightning drilled into him sporadically. His senses took turns switching on and off. The battlefield flashed black and white in his eyes. Sounds seemed to fluctuate from static to screams to the chirping of a thousand birds.
Soon enough, the lightning finally subsided and Model Zero was free to drop. Electrical currents stirred and cackled over his shattered frame as steam rose from the etches of his skin. Failure.
Ivan slammed on the desk. "Damnit," he muttered. "Everyone, back to the drawing board..."
Success
Capsulized Weapons fed into Model Zero's arms so he may eject them from under his wrist and straight into his hands where he can toss them at the enemy.
-Binding Net: An energy net spawns after three seconds of activation, tangling his foes for one full post and allowing Zero a free shot it if were successful. 3 capsules per thread. Left arm.
-Explosive Grenade: The capsule impodes after five seconds of activating and drags everything and anything within five feet towards its center, promptly after expanding and exploding, destroying anything within its perimeter. 3 capsules per thread. Right arm.
Failure

Right arm.
