Year 1154; a magical golden fruit hanging from the mystical Kaiju on planet Kaishin reaches maturity. Kibito Kai, Elder Kai, the five lesser Kais, and remaining Shin-jin gather on their home world to celebrate the first birth of a Kaioshin in over 5 million years. Upon it falling from the branches of the World-Tree souls soared when it was discovered twins, two halves of a single soul, inhabited the apple shaped fruit. However the joyous occasion was soured when Kibito Kai realized one of the twins was born evil.
With a heavy heart Kibito Kai carried through with his duty, casting the delinquent Shin-jin into the Demon Realm. Elder Kai comforted the newborn Kaioshin, who was understandably distraught over the fate of his sibling. In time he came to except that it done for the best reasons, as an evil Shin-jin is capable of causing immeasurable destruction, though he always held a spot in his heart for her.
While Yang was trained by his superiors for the role he would play in the universe, his twin sister forged her own. Cast to the depths of the Demon Realm, Yin was twisted by the natural evil with pervaded all, becoming Makaioshin. All she knew, all she wanted, was revenge on those who had condemned her for the crime of birth. Being a true Makaioshin, a fallen Shin-jin born of the golden fruit, the first since King Dabura, she possessed immense power; a trait the denizens of her new home flocked too.
With an army of demons Yin marched throughout the realm. The ruling lords, who were Makaioshin in name only, came together to defeat this new threat to their collective reigns. Combining their armies they prepared for the girl’s arrival. However they would never fight, nor win, the war they intended on, as Yin had come to one of the lords before they united. She told him of her grand plan before making an offer he could not refuse; to be the sole Demon Lord and Warden of Hell itself.
As her army arrived to face the collected armies of the demon lords, they met to discuss their plan of attack. Unbeknownst to the rest the traitor had snuck the Makaioshin into their citadel. Together they surprised the unsuspecting leadership of the Demon Realm and killed them all in one fell swoop. No demon dare stood against her after that day; all dropping to a knee and swearing eternal loyalty to their Queen. Her vengeance knew no rest, and it was not long before she found a way to open a dimensional doorway; to Hell.
Year 1561; all the Z-Warriors had lived the rest of their lives in peace before passing on to Other World and now spent most of their time with family or training. Due to all they had done to save the universe even Vegeta and Piccolo were permitted into Heaven despite their past deeds. It seemed there would finally be peace across the realms. Then the Kaioshin came to Goku with terrifying news; Hell had been overtaken by a demon horde.
The ogres slaughtered and most powerful villains of all time released, the Demon Queen made her way to Heaven where she unleashed her forces of the damned upon the innocent. When victory seemed uncertain, Kibito Kai summoned Goku and Vegeta to the Sacred Planet of the Kais. He proposed using the Potara Earings to once more. Yin had been expecting this all along, and appeared, goading Vegeta into singles combat. Goku attempted to intervene but the Warden of Hell distracted him long enough for the Queen to land a mortal blow. Together they overwhelmed Goku and then, finally, she found her vengeance in the death of Kibito Kai.
Yang arrived just in time to stop his twin from murdering Elder Kai as well. They battled to a standstill; though it became obvious the endless hordes of Hell and the Demon Realm would overrun Other World entirely. Taking his dagger and pressing it against his chest, the shocked Queen Yin let out a scream; unaware until that moment that they shared the same soul. Threatening to kill himself, thus ending both their lives, he ordered her and her army to return back to Hell. Her vanity, and self-preservation, took priority over victory and thus the Makaioshin bitterly retreated; vowing to someday finish what she had begun.
In the Great War countless perished; their souls erased from existence forever, including the Z-Warriors, their families, their friends, all the evils they had overcame during their lifetime, among many others. Only the Check-In Station, under the protection of the mighty King Yemma, remained largely unaffected. Yin returned to her citadel in the Demon Realm to continue her scheming while the remaining Demon Lord stayed in Hell to serve as its Warden on her behalf.
Yang was crowned Dai Kaioshin by Elder Kai shortly before he too died from a wound received on that final day; one dealt by the Demon Queen’s magical sword which could not be healed by any means. The deity was forever darkened by what his sister had done. Another golden fruit, which fell years after the war, received no celebration and the Kaioshin born from it was welcomed into life only by his mentor’s coldness. He was trained to take over the collective roles of the fallen Kais.
Year 2000; an uneasy peace exists between Heaven and Hell. The Dai Kaioshin rules Heaven while his twin, the Demon Queen, rules Hell; both watching over the living world in hopes of finding warriors to carry on their respective causes; to protect and to destroy. They know that the fate of the universe may one day rest in the hands of these champions.
