Temaki left for work. The man was a martial artist, a member of the Turtle School, with a day job as a mechanic. Most of his work involved flying car repairs and was almost a hobby next to his passion for the martial arts. While he wasn't anything special in the Turtle School yet, he was clearly a rising star who would go far if given the chance. Maybe the others don't see it, but I do, and Suresh did. A natural aptitude for shaping ki into advanced shapes beyond the basic spheres and beams, combined with a speciality for using these in melee made him a viable candidate for the hypothetical Earth's Special Forces that Suresh had been aiming for. A pity that the doctor wasn't around to see his greatest creation at work. A shame that the potential Temaki had would have to be taken from it. It was necessary though, he wasn't worthy of his gift. He wasn't special enough.
12:00
His girlfriend, Chloe Flowers drops in on a surprise visit. She almost bumped into me, but this simple trenchcoat and concealing hat disguise also gives people the impression that I don't wish to be disturbed. An accurate assessment, though it would be better without the suspicious overtones. I've been lingering at the makeshift coffee shop across the street from the mechanic's, nursing each cup for as long as possible and making vaguely flirtatious conversation with the waitress who comes to my table. There is nothing special about her, but I do need to give her a reason why I stay for so long, and romantic interest is an acceptable one.
Chloe and Temaki embrace, kissing tenderly despite the man's rough appearance or the grease stains covering his grey shirt and arms. How cute. It would be so much easier if she was attracted to his strength, then maybe I could see what makes him so special without provoking him first.
15:00
His next break, and I see him leave the store entirely to go somewhere. This could be my chance; I leave the coffee where it stands and take off after him. I'd say I was doing my best to not stand out, but this place is so deserted I almost don't have to. He ends up at a junkyard, and I hang around outside. There is no need to make him feel jumpy or like he's being watched. I can sense him, his emotions and if he uses a ki technique I will know it. Still, I am getting impatient. The hunger gnaws at me and I must satisfy it soon; it is a misconception that I only take the ki adept. The unworthy masses are fair game when I need to feed. If Temaki takes too long to show his true power I will kill him and see what it was the hard way.
There! A spike in power, unique from the regular ki attacks I'm so familiar with. I throw myself forward from my resting place and race through the junkyard, right in time to see an enormous golden dragon appear out of nowhere and annihilate a tower of scrapped cars. My blood pumps faster now, a mix of fear from that display and pure predatory thrill. The prey has presented itself, it is time. Temaki looks exhausted, he must have charged that attack up quite a bit. Good, that should make it easier for me. I step forward from the shadows and he sees me, alarm the first thing flashing through his eyes. Drats, it looks like I will have to beat him into submission first.
15:30
My hands are bloody, but I fix that by blowing my aura out at high intensity. As much as I hate to admit it, Temaki put up quite a fight. I certainly wasn't expecting him to use that attack on me after exhausting himself so thoroughly the first time. But he tired first, and was too weak to stop me. Before I leave this place and the brainless corpse behind, there is something I must do.
Orange light diffuses from my fist into the air, gaining intensity and flaming shape as more ki builds up in the attack. The power...its incredible. How a lower being than myself expected to be able to use it properly is beyond me. I give one glance to the target I will be using, a beat up looking truck which looks more like rust incarnate than anything else. "Dragon fist!" I shout out the more literal translation of what Temaki had dubbed his technique, and a flame covered dragon shoots forth as I punch forward, slamming into the truck and tearing it apart with teeth, claws and ki.
I grin and place my hands in my pockets, walking away from the wreckage with a light hearted mood. Oh yes, I think I'm going to enjoy that one.

Chloe comes around looking for her boyfriend, but all anyone can tell her is that he went on a break a few hours ago. Probably training again, they'll say. Maybe something reassuring about he'll be back soon.
I'm watching from the rooftops. Heh, I almost consider following Chloe to explain what happened, or at least point her in the right direction. No, let the news come as a surprise. From what I overhead, she loves surprises.
Let's see if this will change that.
