It was well into the evening when Ethan finally got home from his shopping trip to the home improvement center in the city and like so many of his trips there, he'd made off with a one of the oversized shopping carts to carry his purchases home. While it was true that thanks to his training, he was more then strong enough to fly the heavy load back to the school, the blue haired boy didn't want to risk one of the bags ripping and dripping a shower of nails down upon an unsuspecting populace or heaven forbid, one of the large storage batteries he'd purchased. The batteries were intended to help provide a reserve for the school's combination gravity chamber and holographic simulation machine, but after it's first use, the technically savvy teen noticed that it was on the verge of burning the school down from drawing too heavily on the power line provided. So the batteries would provide the bulk of the power needed to run the machine while the mains from the street paced them and when the machine wasn't in use, the batteries could then recharge at a pace that the mains could handle. Sometimes Ethan astonished even himself with how well he grasped the technical side of life regardless of his having grown up in such backward surroundings.
The boy's headset was still pumping out tunes as he lugged his shopping cart through the main gate, along the garden path to the school doors and finally parked it at the steps, oblivious to the fact that he'd passed a motorcycle one the way in. Carrying the bag of odds and ends with his teeth and hefting the storage batteries up on his shoulders, the blue haired teen ascended the steps and entered the school, nudging the door open with his foot. With two great thumps the batteries were deposited on the floor and Ethan started for the kitchen where he could lay out the parts to build what he needed for the gravity chamber's little modification. He also wanted to set the bag down as quickly as possible as even though he liked the skin tight shirt Jenn had given him some time back, he was just itching to get it off, bare skin felt so much more natural to him. He was looking forward to a quiet evening of tinkering followed by sleep and a trip in the morning to return his technically stolen shopping cart, when the boy got though was an entirely different thing.
As Ethan neared the kitchen he knew something was off, the lights were on when they shouldn't be. Sure that he could handle any intruder, the teen continued in expecting to find neighborhood kids or some homeless wretch looking for food, instead he got the surprise of his life. The first thing he noticed was the petite frame of a young lady dressed in a black jacket and pants. But opposite her was the imposing figure of a half dressed, muscular man, one that it took Ethan's brain several moments to compute, during which time he dropped the bag of electrical supplies in shock and uttered a stammering few syllables.
"What... the... Who the heck are you and..." Ethan stammered as the wheels in his head jerked to a complete halt and then shifted gears rapidly, trying to process exactly who and what he was looking at. It was Kit, and yet it wasn't. His body was the right size, shape and tone, though oddly he wasn't wearing a shirt and Ethan could see quite the nasty scar near his shoulder, his hair was right and lastly, what of his face the boy could make out seemed to say Kit, but there was just so much wrong. How could this guy be his brother? It didn't make any sense at all, and... Wait a moment... Where is his other eye?
"What the hell happened to you?!!!" Ethan finally yelled, stumbling forward another step as he finally registered in horror, that this macabrely disfigured man was indeed his brother.

Della blinked a few times after Saito finished his first statement as she took in the words but what Saito was saying was just so far beyond what she had ever really thought of, she had never once thought of the concept of being worthy of the role of Guardian of Earth. In the past such a thing would have never been a possibility her link to the ring as it would be far too dangerous to theoretically put the Guardian under the command of someone else. On top of that she had simply never thought herself to be in consideration for such a role she was no Guardian she was the person who aided them, guided them. Now though the whole danger of her being thralled to another person was no longer a risk but to Della it still simply made no sense for her to stand as the Earth's Guardian. "I appreciate you saying that Saito, truthfully the concept of my taking up such a role was never something I even considered... I would not say that it is something as selfish as my interest in a bit of freedom that would prevent me from seeking the role now though."
"Long ago the Earth lacked a Guardian, I do not know if it simply had been without one for a very long time or simply never possessed one to begin with but the point is the Earth was without one until a man named Seikatsu was made Guardian by my magic. Seikatsu could have made it so that he could serve as Guardian forever, but eventually decided it was not right to do so, the Earth needs it's Guardian to change with it to understand things and oversee it with a clear vision for it's future that can really only be gained by a new set of eyes and a new way of thinking. If I served as Guardian it would go against that as it is rather unlikely I will ever pass on due to age and there is a very real likelihood that I would not step down from the position." Della explained her rational, truthfully if it WAS necessary that she took up the role it was likely that a decision would be made to place Jenn back into primary control of the body, as much as Della enjoyed the freedom of properly 'existing' outside of thought Jenn was most certainly the more level headed one between them and thus the more suitable Guardian.
With that out of the way Della smirked at Saito's second statement "Saito you sound as if you're trying to get rid of me. Though I do suppose it is rather late perhaps.." Della was cut off by the sound of electronics crashing against the kitchen floor snatching her attention away from Saito and onto the new arrival, her attention had been so diverted that she had not even felt the approach of the new arrival and as Della looked the person over she blinked a few times quickly recognizing the bright blue hair of 'Ethan' Jenn perked up as they recognized the young man from there first real venture into the modern world. It had been a rather rough day but Ethan's friendliness had made everything far easier on her and he even managed to teach her a bit about the modern world. Ethan seemed quite flabbergasted by the sight of Saito seeming to shift between not entirely recognizing him and then finally settling on angrily demanding what had happened to him. A few moments and the pieces clicked together in Della's mind. Saito was the brother that Ethan had mentioned a few times and THIS was the school that he had mentioned that they had inherited. For the moment Della felt it best to remain silent and let the brothers speak to one another, it seemed likely that this was the first time that Ethan was seeing the effects that the battle on the Lookout had on Saito.

Saito understood completely what Della was referring to. Perhaps they both had a slightly selfish reason for not wanting to pursue a spot a top the lookout. Though she denied it, the enticing nature of freedom had to be inspiring, and Saito couldn't blame her for that. The woman had lived for thousands of years, the majority of which were kept in a small ring. The mechanics of which Kit could hardly wrap his mind around. It seemed as though immortality was not yet a reason to avoid the job. The Fuhrer himself had proven that there was more than one way to quit a job, and death certainly wasn't in his playbook. The man let out a deep chuckle when Della insinuated he wanted her to leave. That hadn't been his intention, though she was right, it was late. He had intended to arrive home and rest, and although talking to her had been enlightening, his bed was calling to him. He had hardly rested at all in the past few weeks, and the idea of resting and finding Ethan in the morning was delightful. Delightful. Truly their conversation had been exceptional. He had entered it in a more stoic mood and yet here he stood, genuinely laughing.
This laughter would be short lived. The crashing of groceries to their right prompted his attention. He hadn't sensed a thing, which was completely understandable. He had let down his guard to speak with Della, and at some point between the toast and their jovial back and forth, Ethan had come home. Suddenly he didn't feel much like sleeping, or even like staying in one place. The thought crossed his mind to leave, dash past him with his powerful Ki Dash and avoid the confrontation. That however was a coward’s way out, and though Saito was scared he was no coward. He had to face his younger brother eventually. The guilt of his absence had built up within him, and the elder brother knew the only way to alleviate it was to talk it out. Though his own selfish needs to dissipate is dissonance aside, Ethan deserved answered. He listened to the boy stammer and took a deep breath, closing his one visible eye to concentrate on his next words. He was usually very intellectual when speaking to Ethan, always wanting to speak to him as a teacher. This time however he was not a teacher. He was a brother whom had been out of place for far too long. He could think of little more to say than what had taken hold of his mind.
"I love you Ethan...and...I..."
Try as he might the elder brother couldn't keep a tough charade any longer. He had been mutilated, beaten, humiliated, and scarred. He couldn't shake it off and pretend it was nothing. He couldn't use it as a learning experience for himself or his brother. He had no excuses, and there were none to be had. His eye welled, causing his blue eyes to gloss over and shine against the lights in the dojo. His eye patch concealed the other one, which had lost its ability to tear. One tear left the side of his eyelid and ran down his face. That half of his face was fine, the skin just as smooth and tan as the day he had left. Though the other side was horridly disfigured. The tear ran straight down and hit his bare shoulder, running only a little further down before disappearing.
"....I...I'm so sorry."
What else could he say? Now was hardly the time to explain the entire situation. Hell his mind had hardly come to terms with it all. The lookout battle had happened almost a full month ago, and since then the warrior had done nothing but wallow in self-pity. While he was gone his dojo grew, and flourished. Ethan too appeared to have grown. His muscles had toned quite a bit, and his hair was noticeably longer. He couldn't find the words to tell Ethan what had happened. He had practiced explaining the situation to him a dozen times, but that wouldn't help him now. He stood there, still and silent, blinking twice to remove the glimmer that he had let escape. He could only imagine how the brother would respond.

Ethan was in no way shape or form prepared to compute what was standing in front of him. It was Kit but it was not Kit and never could be Kit. The only, fleeting possibility that could ever hope to explain the injuries this faux-Kit was that they were self inflicted and even that did not make any sense. No, not a single thing that was happening at the moment made any type of sense and Ethan's mind, both conscious and unconscious refused to play along. The boy was no psychology student and had never even heard the term "fugue state" before but that did not stop him from effortlessly slipping into one. His emotionally charged expression melted away as his conscious mind detached itself from the situation, leaving his subconscious mind to pilot his body and even that seemed now to be on autopilot.
"Excuse me please, I have some things to do..." the boy stated in a whispery monotone before bending down to pick up the bags he'd carried in and turn on his heel, heading strait back out of the kitchen. He would not stop for some time if left uninterrupted, pacing through the main training room, out the front door, through the entrance garden and right out the main gate. Bags still in hand the blue haired boy would continue to wander aimlessly or one might more accurately say, mindlessly as the fugue state his subconscious had initiated was shielding him from the Earthshattering possibility that his invincible older brother was not that at all. So detached from reality was he now that even the normally uncomfortable sensation of the shirt he was wearing was simply relegated to the status of meaningless sensory input. The data came in but nothing was done with it other then the meager processing needed to keep the teen on his feet and walking.

The whole situation quite suddenly became quite... awkward for Della to say the least, it was quite obvious that it had been quite some time since the two brothers had last seen one another and because of the extensive harm that Saito had undergone during the fight at the Lookout the much younger Ethan appeared to not be taking the situation quite so well. The more the situation went on the more Della felt as if she should have already excused herself or simple exited but curiosity and an unwillingness to actually just depart without attempting any sort of goodbye kept the efreet where she was for the time being, thankfully neither brother was paying her much mind and likely had for the moment entirely forgotten her existence.
Were things perhaps a bit different it would have been a good chance to reconnect with Ethan, while it had been Jenn who had met him initially he had been one of the few humans that Della had known to be the exception to what she had felt had been the new 'rule' for humans which in and of itself had simply been a progression of her former distaste for the people of Earth. Now that her attitude towards them was once again improved she was more than fine with the idea of meeting Ethan herself, perhaps even giving him at least some form of basic understanding of the situation between herself and Jenn so that he would know that she had not simply ignored his invitation.
But her wishes and hopes for where the scenario might end up going were rather quickly dashed as things took a turn for the worst with Ethan quickly and rather oddly excusing himself, acting much as if he were simply trying to ignore Kit's existence, Della wished she knew some way to fix this situation but ultimately this was something that was likely beyond her ability to fix, it was a situation between the brothers of the dojo and one that would need to be resolved by them. As Ethan departed the room Della slipped off of the counter slowly making her way to Kit's side. "I think it best if I depart now and allow you to work things out with Ethan without need to worry about my being here. I hope to speak again soon, so long as you are not against it I will endeavor to make trip here soon for another visit." Della said and with that she would await Saito's response and make her way out of the Dojo to allow Kit the time necessary to work out his present familial issues.
[Unless something comes up in Kit's response to cause Della to remain I'll be exiting. Zeni please!]

What had he expected? Leaving Ethan for a few days to train on the lookout was one thing. It had been nearly a month and Saito had left no note, made no phone call, sent no letters. His absence was hard enough, but the horror on Ethan's face made for a far greater consequence of his actions. Saito had been selfish to not preempt the boy with a warning, or perhaps told him he was leaving. No, Ethan would have followed. The boy had proven that already by leaving the compound and seeking out his brother the first time. He had to be secretive about where he was going, though he could have communicated with his brother. Saito was unaccustomed to such weighty responsibilities, and his pride had only just been mended from the intense defeat at Kemuri's hands.
"Ethan..."
He said quietly under his breath as the boy ran out of the kitchen. It was all a bit much for him, and much like his pride it would take time to heal it. After a moment of heavy silence Della offered her leave. Saito had wanted to continue their conversation, but he too felt it was no longer the time or place. He obviously had mending to do of his own, and Della needn't be a part of that. He nodded, flashing a concerned smile at the genie. He was still a gentlemen and would walk her to the door, sharing final words with her for the evening.
"Thank you for coming by Della. I'm certain the Earth will be in fine standing with the likes of you and I protecting it."
With that he saw her off. The night air splashing his face as he opened the door. Even after Della's departure Saito would sit on the front pathway. The shrubbery provided a fine scent and the evening weather was cool and light on his skin. It was the perfect place to sit and think after a long day of difficult tribulation. He had much work to do if he was going to mend the relationship he and his brother shared. Though Saito would likely not have cared a few months ago, their bond had grown, and Ethan's acceptance was something he needed more than ever.
