The team had grown weary, both of each other and their journey away from home. Angst set in amongst them as they all wished to part ways and taste freedom once more; after they received their payment, naturally. "One of the planets you sent us to investigate is also not there anymore, it was destroyed when one of our enemies attacked the core," Conri added sullenly after the boy had finished speaking. It was indeed a loss; the planet was a rich and vibrant paradise teeming with technology and riches. Thankfully the Cardinal of War had evacuated the planet saving billions of lives, the one good thing that wretched suit of armor had done. William could feel his gauntlet tight around his throat, its steel seemingly indestructible, the strength of Invictus seemingly without end. It made him shutter.
Throughout the conversation the mysterious blonde and red head android pair remained still and silent. All Man did was stare at the lithe giant Prometheus Zex. William was sure he was saving his debriefing for a more private setting, then again he could be paranoid and the robot simply felt he had nothing to add… Though Watson doubted it with prejudice. Meanwhile Zex paid little attention to William, despite the boy being his employee no different than Man, whose hostage carried the weight of said attention. He could not pretend his Lord’s indifference did not trouble him; should he fall too far from favor his family could be on the streets and his mother left uncured.
After soaking in all that was said Zex spoke again. ”It pains me to hear of the loss of Banduk, Frigid, my initial search team and the planet itself, but I am glad the rest of you were able to return. One of you has even managed to bring back a worthwhile captive. That is extra of course, as all of you have performed as asked. I will interrogate this woman myself, but there is no rush. What can you tell me of the remaining planet and its inhabitants?” Once finished the alien’s dark, callous eyes look upon them all; meanwhile Wrath only had eyes for Ona, apparently having deemed her the greatest potential threat. Watson did not doubt it.
“The other planet…it is a wasteland with a rocky core that spreads for miles and miles…light does not escape the honey combed world…” Kurosanai spoke up once more, noticeably biting back anger as he did. “The people are fierce and proud. They will not bend knee again if they don’t have to, especially when they find out that they are free from the Universal Church of One,” the human said of Belegost. William disagreed with his assessment, but bided his time. Then the self-proclaimed ‘prodigy’ looked to floor for a few moments, perhaps to calm himself. Finally his dark gaze fell upon the androids, staring at them with an almost tangible distaste.
William had a different assessment; the planet was ripe for the taking. It’s two greatest warriors, and leaders, dead. Watson would urge immediate redeployment to Belegost, to capture it now while in flux from the loss of its leaders and slavers, upon Zex once Kuro and Conri had taken their leave. He would not bother waiting for Man as he was sure he would be by his side. Watson supposed it was better than being stuck with Muzai. “Kurosanai’s summation aside, an enormous habitable tunnel system rests beneath the planet’s surface; leading to mines rich with minerals. The surface is inhospitable but not impossible, capable of housing bases and facilities,” Willie stated coolly. He would save his ideas for terraforming the wastelands to double their usable surface area for another conversation.
He regretted what fate may await the Kinigos, though Tycho’s presence within him made firm his desire to handle the overtaking personally; to see the innocent unharmed and transition of power as peaceful as possible. ”Who knows, perhaps we’ll even be greeted as saviors,” he thought doubtfully. It was a laughable idea to be sure. However he did not bother hesitating in revealing the information to Prometheus; he knew if he left anything out Man would be sure to fill in the blanks.
“Also, I commandeered the spaceship of another high officer; the one who oversaw Belegost, the remaining planet. It has stores of information regarding the Church, amongst other things,” he added before falling silent to allow another to speak. He only hoped Zex would be pleased with the information he brought him, or at least pleased with the lengths he went to discover the fate of the first crew. No one else got thrown halfway across a city by an angry armored angel for asking the question.

It seemed that Kuro had a strange thought regarding the planet of Belegost, mentioning downsides to it, but the last part was what caught his attention the most as well when he refocused on Zex. Was that his entire plan? That he wanted to take the planet and make its inhabitants slaves? It was hard to tell from the lack of expression but if that was the case then everyone was making a very bad plan. William speaking about Belegost caused a narrow in his eyes though, he didn't like the way he was describing it as something that they could utilize for themselves given that the Kiringos already lived there. However, he could just be jumping to conclusions right now, so he would just keep to himself with that for the time being and he was looking forward to just eventually getting home himself, he would need to make one more stop personally, but it was on the way so not too bad.
"Look, not to rush things, but it's been a long trip and I'd really like to get back home. If we're all done with the debriefing part or if we aren't I'd rather just skip it regardless. So, if we can complete our agreement on the matter when we were invited to your place, I can just go ahead and get out of here," staying any long was pointless at this point, however, he did have things to take care of before leaving. So, he'd rather just get paid and get out of there than standing around all day with people taking all day for this information. Right now he just wanted to get on his way, so the sooner he got paid then he could go ahead and do that. The only one that seemed to have any real desire or care for this at the moment was Watson, which was disappointing that he seemed to want Belegost to be put under someone else's control once more.
However, he did have a few plans to enact so it wouldn't be too much issue to just leave for the time being, plus it would just be better to not stick around in general. He would wait until Zex had given them their payments before he left, as of now he didn't need to have anything to do with him or anyone else, so he could do his own thing once more. Trying to work for leaders of other worlds was a pain, simply because they seemed to assume a lot of things about you. Tsuyo had assumed a lot about him as well, that had been untrue, but that would be resolved later. Plus he wanted to get back to Earth as soon as possible to talk to someone in particular about his missing arms and what that person could do about it with his particular set of skills.
Once he received the payment, he would then have a few last words of advice for the people that were here and he hoped that they took them to heart as well. That would wait for the end of this little whatever they wanted to call it, and once his role here was done. He had a feeling that his own thoughts and Kurosanai's were similar on the matter, but it would be best just for them to get away from the others for now. (sorry it took so long, motivation sank for a couple days with getting a call that my stepdad was in the hospital)

(Sorry to hear that Conri. ) Zero glanced at Mr. Watson. Although he agreed with his assessment, he did not think it was prudent to disclose so much information in the presence of Conri Lane and Kurosanai Muzai. Their function was to ensure the return of Lord Zex’s real agents; Mr. Watson and Model Zero. Now that they had returned, the outsiders would be paid and leave while they completed their report in a more private setting. Model Zero and Ona would remain quiet unless directly addressed. Belegost, in his opinion, was as prosperous as Mr. Watson alluded, perhaps more so. Prometheus Zex more than anyone could appreciate what a little technology could do for the planet. The saiyan might think they were invading the Kinigor lifestyle, but Alpha Prime’s presence would actually improve their life-expectancy. If they could create a city within a hollowed out asteroid and develop a cognitive android like himself, Model Zero did not think a cap existed for the heights technology could reach. The saiyan soon voiced his desire to move on so he could return to his land. Zero thought this was for the best as they were no longer needed. However, there was a lingering question the android had been meaning to ask the saiyan since the first time they fought, but he had not found the right moment to ask him and this was no exception. Lord Zex would not take well to the android’s interest in matters foreign to their cause. Zero observes their surroundings. They had been standing at Alpha Prime’s docking station, the place where individuals from all around the universe enter and exit the Collective. The general populace appeared to continue on with their daily business, although their presence did not go unnoticed. Right now, the Lord of Alpha Prime and his brother were standing in a public area, greeting a group that recently emerged from a broken down space ship. One of them, if the populace recalled despite the drastic change in appearance was the Champion of the Intergalactic Tournament, mutilated for reasons unknown and Kurosanai Muzai was surely another public figure known to the masses. “I agree,” Zero finally spoke, unexpectedly teaming up with Conri Lane. “I believe our report is best saved for a more discreet setting.” He explained. There was no telling how many rumors would surmise from their presence alone. (I’m shooting blanks here… xP)

The way in which the various members of the returning party conducted themselves was rather amusing. Kurosanai and the Champion seemed quite fed up with it all, even though they had fully agreed to undertake the mission. He remembered how excited they had seemed in the beginning when invited to dine at his home. Any of them save Mr. Watson and Zero could have simply said no and been on their way. The fact they now chose to be short with him was little more than a nuisance, their opinions of troubles with that had happened on their mission of little concern to him. If one couldn’t handle the fire, stay out of the kitchen right? Perhaps the young warriors had learned a little about what the Universe was really like, not all tournaments and games.
Model Zero and Mr. Watson were another matter all together. Both worked for the alien Lord and had little choice in the matter, yet they both seemed to be reporting in with some conviction in their voices. Of course the first was an android and devoid of the emotion that Willie possessed, but still. Smiling at each in turn, a little more so at the human boy for his much more insightful summation of the planet that remained, Prometheus was glad he had sent him. The muscle of the group was no longer needed, their payment going to be delivered as promised, but they need not remain for that. Zex assumed there was much to learn from Model Zero and Willie Watson, the information much more appropriate to share in private and only with those that were bound to his will.
”I agree, there is no reason to linger here. Conri Lane, Kurosanai Muzai, I thank you both for your service and I apologize for the injuries you have sustained. The two of you may take your leave and return to your homes. I only suggest that you leave you information with the port master and he will be sure to provide me with it, I can then make sure your promised zeni finds its way to your bank accounts. If you have no further questions we are finished here. Model Zero and Mr. Watson, please come with me. Bring your captive as well.” With that the Lord of Alpha Prime turns on his heel and strolls away, the seemingly always grinning Wrath moving after him. Of course if any of the group were to raise an issue he would address it, but he figured those ready to leave had served their purpose.

Post by Kurosanai Muzai on Mar 23, 2015 21:16:46 GMT -5
Kurosanai’s patience was up. He wanted nothing more than to go home and not bother looking back. Listening to everyone only seemed to continue to sit poorly in his stomach. Sure he had been excited to go adventuring through the universe at first. It was what every kid grew up doing when he knew there was a universe to explore out there. Never had it passed through his mind of the dangers that had lay out there. That was on him for not thinking about the worst case scenario. But the fact of the matter was that they had been sent on a search and rescue mission. This turned into the group being dragged into what seemed to be a holy war. Kuro had become responsible for taking two men’s lives. One directly with when he killed Arpatiko, and then indirectly when he left Sebastian to die on the surface of Mement Mor. Then to make everything else worse it seems to have all been a ploy for clearing the path for a possible invasion. His stomach twisted and turned and with a deep breath in looked back down to the ground.
“I thank you for the opportunity to work with you Lord Zex. It has been a pleasure but I will take my leave now. I wish you the best in all your future endeavors.” Without Kurosanai took a bow and then as he came up locked eyes for a brief moment. In that moment his resolve was hardened. He would not let innocent souls be subjected to a foreign power ever again even if it meant his life was taken from him. Turning on his heel he began to make his way back into the crowd. He would check in with this designated man of Zex’s, get his money and go home. It had felt like it had been over a year since he had been away. He would look forward to Conri returning to Earth in the future. The two would hopefully be able to meet up and have dinner sometime. He might be able to show him the hills that he had grown up in and Conri would be able to show him some good bars. Until then Kurosanai was out.
(Exiting thread. Zeni please including Zex’s payment)

The uncomfortable friction amongst the group was becoming impossible to ignore. Conri was angst ridden over departing; Willie imagined it had something to do with a need for two new limbs. For a moment he wondered about tell him about Vespasian and his 4 Arm Attack. But, would it be 2 Arm Attack then? Watson pondered. It was strange staring at the stumps; he could rip his own arm off, have a one man arm wrestling contest, have it beat him and then reattach it without blinking. Then again, his whole definition on strange was constantly evolving these days.
Surprising enough was Man’s slight interjection, on the side of disbanding. William was certainly not against it, eager to finish the debriefing with Prometheus so he may visit his family. He wondered if his mother had yet begun to recover. He also agreed the more sensitive information either had to add was best said away from others. Even though their loading bay had been blocked off by Zex in preparation for their arrival, eyes and ears were everywhere. Perhaps he had even said too much in his eagerness for the Lord of Alpha Prime’s approval, regardless had not given up any pertinent information, more of a general analysis. Yet the feeling he garnered from Kuro and Conri was not one of approval.
Prometheus agreed with them all, giving them leave and promise of payment. He seemed quite pleased with what Zero and Willie had accomplished, enjoying his short dossier on Belegost; though the look in his sharp, cold eyes was that of greed. Then Kuro surprisingly managed a short bow and respectful words, carefully biting back the anger which seemed to radiate off of him. For a moment he stared harrowingly into the towering alien’s dark gaze, and then he was gone. And yet, the boy thought to himself, not a single fuck given. It was easy to say Muzai's exit was sorely welcomed by the supposed human.
As the arrogantly self-professed ‘prodigy’ disappeared, Willie addressed Prometheus’s order with complacency, “Yes my lord.” Then, turning to Conri, Willie added “You are a warrior of the highest caliber Champ, it was an honor to fight alongside you,” he would then nod in respect, unsure what to do without the ability to shake hands. His eyes would linger, the half-saiyan reminding him of his fallen friend until the thought of Ninjin dead became too much to bear and forced himself to look away. Then, barring any other interruption, he would fall in line behind the towers that were the brothers Zex as they were led back to Monarch Heights for their debriefing. It was finally over… For now.

It seemed that everyone was going their own way now and that the others would be talking amongst themselves for the rest of the details involved, making sure to get the information about the man Zex mentioned he was about to start walking away when Zasham approached him. He began to speak about it being an honor to fight alongside him and that he was a warrior of the highest caliber, and while the words were nice Conri himself knew better than that. He'd failed to do the things that he set out to do in that battle and because of it Ninjin had lost his life in an attempt to help the Half-Saiyan take out the Cardinal of War. He had helped, but at a cost that he did not think was worth it, the worst part was that he couldn't even defeat Invictus in time to try to save that female saiyan that had been with him. Granted, it probably wouldn't have gone over well with her, but the more lives that he could have saved the better in his mind. He'd failed and he needed to become stronger so that it wouldn't happen again.
"You're a good kid, William. Make sure you keep yourself out of trouble," words of advice if he would listen, but he didn't know how the human would react or take them either. There was something else on his mind as well though as he continued to stare at the Champion, before turning away with a bit of what he could only think was sadness about what happened. Kurosanai had already left which was a good thing in itself really, the less involved he was with this next part the better off, because he would do what most would not even consider given the circumstances. However, Conri was a man that spoke his mind regardless of the possible consequences that might come back on him and as long as it was only him that was all that mattered really.
"Zex, before you and your little group here heads out. I want to make one thing very clear right here and right now," the tone from Conri was much more serious and direct than it had been to this point. He would make sure that he had the alien's full attention before he would continue with what he was saying. "My job was to investigate the missing crew and nothing else, which means I have no obligations for whatever else you might be thinking. So, if I find out that you have done something to the people of Belegost such as take them over? You're going to discover how quickly you can lose your empire, and if you think I'm bluffing or that I don't have the power? Ask those two with you about what happened on Mement Mor." He was tired of people thinking that they could treat others as nothing more than things to use as if they didn't matter at all.
With that done he turned and walked from them, heading towards his ship after he would see the man regarding his payment, other than that he would have a few things to take care of before leaving the planet and heading home. He was tired and a bit homesick, so he was going to head back to Earth as quickly as he could. (Zeni + Zex's 1000 payment! =p)

(Oh? I thought the rest of us would continue in this thread...)
Zero's demeanor had not changed throughout the entire reunion. His eyes were focused on Prometheus Zex and Wrath, his blade hovered steadily behind the woman's neck as he awaited further orders. As soon as the others had left, the sooner things could start and Ona's place in Alpha Prime could be determined. Model Zero had some concerns himself which he preferred to address personally with Lord Zex. He did not look to Kurosanai Muzai as the man left. He would not be missed. The tension lurking in the air was very real and the human's absence served to soothe it if only discreetly. Following his departure, Conri Lane would also make his leave -but not without speaking his mind. Zero turned to look at the saiyan, his words instigating a reaction on the android. No doubt, he was high on power. The android was not fond of how freely he spoke, nor his threats; a threat to Lord Zex was felt as a threat to himself as the two were closely connected.
The android glanced at Zex, wondering how the man would react. If Zero's eyes met with the Lord's or Wrath, he would make sure to discourage any thought of sanction. The saiyan spoke out of place, but he was dangerous. The power he had demonstrated on Mement Mor convinced Zero that his goals would be much harder than what Ivan gave credit for. The scientist had told the android that he need only train and the rest would come along for the ride, but he was not so sure anymore. Right now, without his limbs, the saiyan was stronger than every person in the Omega Collective -even King Arctic and Wrath. Zero stared back at the saiyan silently. In the future, -perhaps not so far, the android foresaw a battle to the death would take place between him and every surviving member of the peculiar group Lord Zex sent out to the UCOO's nest. Conri Lane, would become the focus of his augury, the object of his fixation as the android strives to reach greater heights and catch up to those who had ascended into power beyond his abilities.
His gaze would remain, unfaltering, even as the saiyan would turn and leave. Perhaps, he might have even caught a glimpse of Zero's vision; saiyan and machine facing off against one another whilst in a land of shattered and devastated land while the clouds swirled a storm above. Zero learned what power looked like, and now he knew what to aim for. However, there was a question which lingered in his mind from the moment he and the saiyan first met. He might never get an answer out of the blue-haired man, but perhaps -by then, he would have developed his own. The difference... between a fighter... and a warrior...
Once the saiyan was gone, Model Zero would follow Lord Zex to his manor with Ona at the edge of her own blade.
