Della let out a low sigh as she sat cross legged at the base of a raging waterfall. Much as she would have enjoyed doing training such as this out in the real would it was an unfortunate fact that No's simulator was in almost every way the better choice for work such as this. While it was very possible to find locations that were MOSTLY out of the way on the Earth Della's occasional attempts to do similar forms of meditation out in the world often were marred by the passing of incoming starships or planes around the Earth and even on a few occasions she had discovered that her peaceful out of the way meditation spot was not quite as out of the way as she would have liked. While less overtly bothering as the ships the ever curious humans of the world had thrice stumbled upon her in the midst of training, twice out of the three times she had been unleashing her full strength in rather... overt ways that included a lot of smoke and fire and one unfortunate human had some form of nervous health condition. Thankfully quick action had gotten them back to civilization and most importantly a hospital for the one with the health condition but after so many failed attempts Della simply resigned herself to making use of the simulator for something as simple as meditation.
It was not as if she DISLIKED the simulator, in fact it in many ways added to her efforts, the increased gravity ensured that her body and by extension her inner power were placed under additional levels of 'strain' that made her efforts to grab the reins on her power both more difficult and more rewarding. The difficulty was certainly prolonging her efforts but the reward was that Della would KNOW she could control her power even under stressful conditions.
The matter of 'control' had been something she decided to make a priority for herself as with every day it became more readily apparent that while she certainly was not ALONE in her tier of power that it was still a tier far away from the world at large, mistakes with that level of power were just simply too dangerous. The girl M1Y1 had been a good source of proof of this, while the girl was not necessarily 'mistakenly' using too much of her power what she could do with even that tier of strength and apathy towards control was terrifying. Della knew herself to possess far and away more powerful than the girl and while she certainly was more active in restraining herself it was not uncommon for Della to find that her efforts to restrain herself simply fell short of what was ultimately necessary. Her weighted training bands certainly aided in this as they too restricted her power but it was not always a guarantee that they would be functional, they were strong but technology was often a fragile thing and if they were damaged in battle without her knowledge it was entirely possible that the power they locked away might end up being the difference between simply harming an opponent and accidentally vaporizing them.
Della wanted no such risks with her power and thus that was why she had begun devoting several hours in a day to meditation in her personally designed meditation cove, No had begun teaching her the basics of working the simulator to create specific simulations and while it had been difficult at first after some work from No they had devised a method by which Della could rework the simulation as if it were a painting, she was in many ways working with a rather oversized brush on a usually massive canvas but it was workable and within her existing skill set. The cove itself was a recreation of a place that had existed in her youth, a very long time ago it had been where she would go if she could trick or scare a summoner into not using some of their wishes.
Sitting peacefully with her training bands removed and her power openly flowing around her like a raging inferno Della began slowly drawing it back in on her, pulling it closer and closer as she had done many times before. Her initial method of restricting herself had been one devised out of necessity, out of not wanting to outright murder every employee of UNITY simply for the crime of perhaps not knowing what the people they worked for were really up to. It had been slapped together and patchy at best back then but refined over constant usage, refining it further had proven more difficult and it had only been fairly recently that Della had made any real breakthroughs.
Slowly but surely Della brought restrained her power once again drawing it all back into herself and then beginning the process of suppressing it further, as it stood while her power was no longer raging about her body like an inferno it was still fueling every inch of her form with power her fists could easily shatter almost any natural material she knew of even more modern construction materials seemed to lack any more significant resilience than what had existed in her own time at least by comparison to her power and the power of others she had seen, occasionally Della found materials able to resist some amount of her power, these seemed to be used more heavily in the construction of buildings of significance from what No had told her but when they had taken the time to test the resilience of these materials against Della's full strength and even to an extent reduced levels of power, they proved to most certainly not stand up nearly well enough for them to be truly safe.
The only materials that they had discovered were resilient enough to sustain against heavy fire from someone such as Della or the many others of significant power were the materials commonly used for Gravity and Simulation training devices, these items often fed off of the ambient energy of their users and thus generally held as much resilience as the person or people using them, it was certainly still possible to damage these training devices but it became much more difficult when they were also lined with additional layers of the more resilient metals that the Earth and beyond had to offer.
Della could feel herself quickly approaching her normal cut off point, the edge of where she could easily suppress her power, when No took numerical readings of her power she claimed that this point was roughly half of her full strength, which in and of itself was somewhere a 'Power Level' of half a million, still far too much. Back when Jenn had escaped UNITY there power had been much weaker and on top of that restrained by the bracers, the bracers had once been capable of halving there power in and of themselves which meant that she had been working with roughly a quarter of her power against the UNITY mooks, many had still suffered rather bad injury’s from what she could tell and if that was the case THEN Della could scarcely imagine what she would do to a normal person if she let her temper get the best of her.
Drawing on her power and pulling it deeper Della felt as if she were trying to reposition a mountain or perhaps argue with Jenn, both were rather equally futile tasks but the more she kept at it the more it began to feel as if she was creating cracks in the 'barrier' that prevented her from restraining herself further, part of Della was rather certain that this was some amount of subconscious barrier. Personal weakness was something Della detested, she despised the idea of not being able to fend for herself or protect her loved ones, to become weaker meant in many ways having less ability to protect them... But at the very same time NOT learning proper restraint was just as dangerous, training with Vixi while not exceptionally common due to the girl’s pacifistic nature could become infinitely more dangerous as Della's power grew. Vixi too grew in power but her disinterest in fighting meant that once her 'growth spurt' in power had tapered off so too had essentially all of her growth in power.
The idea that she could herself pose a threat to Vixi seemed to be the breaking point the moment in which her subconscious let go of its fears and let Della's power flow freely, it was much like a dam being broken down as all of a sudden Della felt a shift in her power it grew lower and lower until it was far below even her vague memories of her strength as a child. This was the control she needed. With a smile Della let her power flow back to half finding the task of stopping her power at that point likewise much easier as well. With a triumphant sigh Della let herself fall back on the stone she had been seated on letting her eyes slowly close as she let herself relax and listen to the sounds all around her a heavy weight lifted from her shoulders now that she knew she could control her power properly.
