Compared to the forest they had recently made their escape from the field that now spread before them was minimal. Tall grass spread to the horizon in almost every direction, save for the one they had come and the one that was their new destination. The occasional shrub or small bush could be seen, but their locations were sporadic, a testament to the unpredictable nature in which seeds found their way in the world. No fields existed like this on New Vegeta as all available space was dedicated to the growing of crops needed to feed the general populace. Plenty of items were imported from Earth and from across the stars, but that would not always be the case. Her homes dependence on others was soon to come to an end. No longer would the Saiyan people and their home on the moon be just a random shrub in the landscape that was the Universe.
Akassa was not a fan of the organized chaos that was the natural world. Having grown up in the military she preferred order and organization. To let the Universe take shape around you was to let your fate be controlled by others. She had not come to possess this type of power to travel the winds like a drifting seed. As Queen she had the power to plant her ideas and enforce her laws within her reach. In time that reach would expand, she planned on it and with her increased sphere of power the galaxy and beyond would be draw in under her reign. Not yet though, first she needed to build and strength those things and people that were close to her. With a reliably team in place around her she could then move forward with her plans, plans that would ultimately ensure safety for countless billions. In the end they would all see she knew best. Never again would a ruler be able to do what her father had done to her.
An endless breeze blew about them as they flew, the Queens thick hair whipping at her face with each passing crosswind despite the fact the gravity had increased even more, pushing x50 no. Ahead of her General Toa still led them on their journey. Toa was the first step in her plan. Being the first to back her when the dust had cleared he was loyal, of that she had no doubt. His actions thus far had shown her more of the same. Although a simulation there was a very real chance of injury and death against the foes Resolute had pitted them against. In the forest she had been fighting a creature equal to her Super Saiyan might and fearlessly Toa had come to her aide when she had needed it. Such an event was never to be spoken of again, something her General understood, but that did not mean it had taken place. One blow from the foe she had been squaring off against was enough to obliterate the male and yet he had not cared. Such loyalty was to be awarded. Once this test was done, the Queen confident he was to pass, she would make sure he understood how high a regard she held him in.
More plains stretched out before them, the metallic glint in the distance seeming to barely draw closer as the minutes passed. In time minutes transformed into hours as the structures, once visible enough to define grew larger still. Whatever city her simulator had constructed it was greater than she had ever seen, even greater than her own palace. Was this part a test for the Queen herself? Resolute had known the Queen when she was just the Princess and according to what Akassa had been told the AI was able to learn, able to understand the psyche of its owner. Was this overly magnificent metropolis was more grand than New Vegeta itself. Either the computer was reminding Akassa to have some humility or this was designed to push the warrior Queen all the more. She took it as the later.
With the distance between them and their destination shrinking still more details of the structures became visible. The ever glinting buildings was because of the shining steel that made up half of their outer construction, the rest made of brilliantly shining glass. Together it made certain spots almost impossible to look at depending on the angle at with the rays of the suns hit them. So packed together the skyscrapers were almost impossible to count as they disappeared and reappeared behind one another based on ones perspective. The heat waves that rose before them made it even harder to focus on them, the ripples distorting the images beyond. On the eastern side of the city sat a monstrous dome shaped structure. It reminded her of the Coliseum Immortal on Alpha Prime.
Alpha Prime…the name brought a sour taste to her mouth. To begin with the sewer of a station was owned by Prometheus Zex, an alien that the Hattori family had never housed any trust for. His Galactic Tournament had been a ruse, a publicity stunt to draw the fools of the Universe to see his rat hole in a new light. It had worked of course, the fights that had taken place drawing everyone’s attention away from the truth of what the creature and his home were. Even she had been fooled at first, fighting so hard to defeat her brother so that she might earn Tsuyo’s respect. What a foolish child she had still been those months ago. She had seen what her father had been…and Ninjin too. He had celebrated when his boot slammed across her face, declaring his victory over her with a shout. Yes, she had watched the replays of her loss.
The two had talked afterwards and he had even apologized, but she saw now it was hollow. He still wanted the glory as always. Against Aer Nin she had been his shield so that in the end he could claim victory in the name of the Hattori family. He had not lost part of herself like she had and then in the war council he hadn’t even stood up for her against Natisha, not honestly. For that reason she would not relinquish the throne to him when he returned. At that time she would be proven right for if his more recent words had been true then he should support her rule fully. He wouldn’t…and she would do what was necessary to maintain the peace. One selfish King had been enough; New Vegeta did not need another.
Dropping lower as they came in closer to the perimeter of the city the Queen’s eyebrow arched when a strange whistling sound filled the air. The tone was almost that of wind rushing through a crack in the hull of a ship, the high pitched tone causing her to scan the area. The cause of the odd sound was revealed just as her eyes dipped towards the parting clouds below her. Clouds parted in the wake of a metal shell, the heavy projectile catching her right in the side of the head. Seeing starts and with her concentration broken Akassa drops from the sky. Dazed her body falls as more shells begin to fill the air. Whatever this city was it had its own defenses in place, yet none of them were Ki based. Had they been energy based the two Saiyans would have sensed the, yet with their mechanical design Akassa hadn’t noticed them until it hit her upside the head.
Having sense her suddenly plummeting signature Toa had turned to see why she had lowered it. Only to realize she had not dropped in voluntarily. Seeing she was at the very least heavily stunned, more likely unconscious, the General begins to swerve and weave between the volleys that filled the air. All around him shells detonated, filling the air with burning shrapnel. Pushing his way through them he pressed for the still dropping Queen. As he moved the armor covering the better part of his body was doing well to defend against the burning metal that ripped across the skies. Wincing as one piece cut across his cheek he presses harder, drawing close to the dropping female. Yards, feet, inches….then a shell caught him in the stomach.
Armor designed to take punches with as much force or those with even more than these shells held up against the blow, but the shockwave behind the explosion sent him tumbling off course. Grunting in pain the General attempts to right his path and get back at Akassa. His attempts would have been successful had he not been the target of so many shots. All around him the sky appeared to burn, the growing number of projectiles tossing him back and forth amongst the clouds. Soon the Queen was out of sight, her body having most likely dropping to the surface below. Taking more hits, his own stamina began to wane. Several more shots struck close to him or slammed into him directly. When two finally exploded on either side of his weakened for it was more than he could take, the dual explosions knocking him out.
Far below Akassa was still conscious as she slammed into the ground, the building she met first barely slowing her descent as she smashes through it. With the structure collapsing atop her the Queen groans, trying to blink the fuzziness from her vision, her first attempt to rise was successful in pushing the debris from atop her. Dropping back flat she shakes her head in an attempt to clear it, the concussive shot to the temple having really done a number on her. Of course its sudden appearance had not really been a lack of her attention, but a trick of the simulator. Looking to truly test General Toa, Resolute had decided to put them into a situation where his power might prove the stronger.
Closing her eyes for a moment as a wave of dizziness washed over her, Akassa opened her eyes to the sound of a device being clasped around her neck. Seeing the figures standing above her the Queen’s first thought was to shove to her feet. Pushing off the ground with all her strength she starts to rise, but two hands easily shove her back down. Groaning she struggled against the two men she knew were weaker than her, yet were unable to budge.
“The collar seems to be working, calm her down.” Opening her mouth to question what they hell they were talking about and what in the world this collar was, she instead gets a boot to the face. Already weak from being taken out of the sky in the manner she was, the kick has her vision blurring again. Even with her head swimming she realized the collar around her neck must have been reducing her power in some way, limiting her from accessing her full strength. Such a device posed a serious problem for the warrioress as her current captives seemed far from willing to treat her gently.
Feeling herself lifted from the ground she jerks again, but could not break free of the grip her captors exerted on her. Carried across the ground a short distance a cloth bag was thrown over her head, blocking out the vision she had of the sky above and denying her any chance of seeing where she was being taken. Groaning some as her body settles a little, looking to conserve energy Akassa lets them take her. Whoever these people were, they were going to pay for this when she got a chance to break free. Hopefully General Toa was doing much better than she was, the veteran fighter having disappeared from her view as stars exploded across her vision in result to the shell to the head. Akassa would earn her freedom then find him…before leveling this cursed city.
So far into the experience and with the pain she felt, Akassa had all but forgotten this was a simulated event.
"Glad to see you are alive as well general." The tone actually carrying some amusement in it, considering the pair of them had been captured. Pathetic really considering the power they both possessed and now she sat with most of it restrained. Power level barely hovering over 16k she was surprised at the potency of the technology. With her own will power she was only able to suppress half of it, pushing it down even further presented more of a challenge.
"My apologies Your Grace, I was not able to snatch you out of the air before they brought me down as well. The air was alive with artillery blasts as I attempted it, more than I could weave between." There was anger in his voice, the General not used to failing in anything that he attempted. With a snort he looks to his right as the door slides open. More of a gate really, the heavy metal portal screeching as it began to lifts up into the wall. From inside they could hear a booming voice echoing into them.
"FOR THE NEXT ROUND WE HAVE TWO LATE COMERS TO THE GAMES! BOTH WERE CAPTURED TRYING TO SNEAK THEIR WAY INTO THE CITY, USING THE CLOUDS ABOVE AS COVER! OUR GUNNERS BROUGHT THEM DOWN THOUGH AND NOW THEY WILL GET TO PLAY THEIR PART IN ONE OF THE CROWD FAVORITES, THE DAMSEL IN DISTRESS AND HER VALLIANE KNIGHT THAT HAS VOWED TO KEEP HER SAFE! COMBATANTS PLEASE MAKE YOUR WAY TO THE ARENA FLOOR!!!!"
Looking to one another the two Saiyan's were unsure if the announcer was serious at first. Had they really be captured and thrown into some sort of fighting pit? The roar of the crowd after the announcement seemed to be an indicator that it was true. With a moment longer passing in silence, Akassa shoves up to her feet. If they were struck they might as well. Once outside she could have him get this damn collar of and then it would be those using them for sport that were going to be sorry. Entertainment would be the last thing on their minds. Heading out, Akassa took the lead as she always did, a momentary lapse of judgment causing her to forget that she was nowhere near her normal capabilities, never mind she couldn't access her Super Saiyan form.
No soon her she stepped out into the blinding sunlight, eyes squinting mostly close did she receive a blast to the chest. With a grunt she is launched right back into Toa, his hands grabbing to catch her, but still the force had his feet sliding against the dirt. Peering over her shoulder he saw the massive beast across from them, one apparently capable of using Ki, not just its massive frame. Standing about 50ft tall it was not something to be scoffed at, especially considering it stood at triple his current power level…one and a half times his maximum. Akassa, having taken the blast as weak as it was, looked stunned in his grasp. Her restrained power level had her almost on par with elite soldiers back on New Vegeta. That meant this was going to be up to him.
Hearing the door slam shut behind him, he glances back before turning and setting her on the ground against it. Leaving the female in a seated position he then turns his attention back to the beast. Rolling his neck Toa sizes the creature up, its leathery skin seeming far tougher than normal flesh. Clawed and fanged the reddish brown monster looked almost primal, like something from centuries past. It didn't matter though; he was a Saiyan warrior and looking for escape or contemplating backing down never once crossed his mind.
With his Queen behind him, the Saiyan smirks over at his much larger foe. Size was never an issue in this world; ones power a more accurate reflector of their strength. For all those watching it seemed that he was in a losing battle, unable to match the creature even with his full power. The fact of the matter was though, the state they had seen him in when captured wasn’t his maximum. Sure it was the current limit of this form, but he had an ace up his sleeve. All elite Saiyan warriors did, their race usually born with a hidden power. That power came in the tail that currently wrapped around the warriors waist.
Cupping his hand he summons forth a small glowing sphere with ease, the ball not meant to be any kind of attack as he throws it up into the air above the stadium. Grinning wide he follows it up with eyes as it secures a spot far out of normal reach. Eyes wide he sucks in the blutz waves that radiate off of it, the changes immediate. Gritting his teeth as his physical form began to change the first thing that shifted were his canines, elongated as his face did, stretching into a muzzle. Head growing larger so does the rest of his body to match, arms and legs growing as they thicken with muscle. All over his normally smooth skin dark brown fur began to sprout as he quickly grew to resemble an ape…a large one at then. Stretching up to match the lizard like creatures size General Toa lets out a roar that shakes the stands. Oozaru was the key to his true power, now five times stronger than he had been moments before.
Offering another roar, this one a challenge his eyes lock on the creature. ”How dare you assault my Queen! I shall make you pay for what you have done, the likes of Akassa Hattori are not meant for sport in anyone’s entertainment.” Sold on the simulation he was in, all of it so real his words were filled with anger, the stomping steps echoing his rage as he charged forward.
Leading with a massive fist the ape swings hard for the lizard beasts head, catching it with a solid punch across its snout. Head snapping to the side it looks right back at the beast across from it, roaring in its own voice before leaping forward to tackle the giant Saiyan to the dirt. The two hit the ground, General Toa slamming down on his back as the beast attempts to pin him to the ground. Having none of that the monkey plants his feet in the lizard’s stomach as they hit, kicking hard and flipping up and over his prone form. The toss had enough power to toss the creature into the stands, his massive frame causing concrete to shatter as if balsawood.
Roaring in his rage the ape gathers energy into his mouth, but does not aim it for the rising lizard. Instead he turns to the right and unleashes it into the other side of the stadium. Like a laser the beam rips through the stands, cutting that half of the structure in two. Wanting to bring the whole thing down he knew better than to turn his attention from his foe for too long. Howling he looks back just as the beast swings with its clawed hand for his own face. The swipe did not lack power, but it was far too slow. Ducking right under his own massive hands reach up to clasp the extended appendage. Snapping back to a standing position he wrenches hard and twists, an audible snap echoing through the arena the massive elbow pop.
Hissing in pain the lizard attempts to swing in with his other hand, but the General twists his arm which also twists the creature’s body. With the arm further damage Toa turns and throws the beast across the arena once more, its heavy body slamming up against the wall that was meant to hold the combatants in. With so much strength behind the throw it did a poor job, stone and metal exploding outward as another section of the structure begins to collapse. Rage far from subsided the apes hand extends to the side as a yellow disc begins to take shape. Spinning in his hand the disc began to pick up speed before it is launched.
Only having one working arm to pull itself from the rubble the lizard creature was far too slow, its eyes widening as the kienzan connects with its chest, cutting through its thick hide with ease. Blood and gore plash over the ruined section of the stadium, those still scrambling to escape covered in the creature’s dark lifeblood. As the giant beast let out its last gurgling breath, Toa howls with rage. The end of the blast was coupled with another beam of energy that ripped apart yet another section of the stadium. It seemed the General had indeed not taken kindly to the treatment he and Akassa had received. Opening his mouth he prepares a third blast with the intentions of destroying the next building over.
Before the beam could connect with the side of the building though, it disappears…as did the rest of the structures. Confusion dominated the ape’s face now as he looked around; a familiar voice from behind causing his eyes to wide some as he realized what had happened.
”That is enough Toa.” The Queen floating in the air behind him, arms crossed over her chest and seeming perfectly fine. As soon as the General had stepped up to hand the creature ,Resolute had come through the collar around her neck, and making sure she remained out of the combat so they could see how Toa reacted to having to be the only one fighting. Agreeing that letting him act on his own, without her guidance was a good test of what he might do, the Queen had agreed. His anger and determination had been well received, Akassa glad to see he would so viciously defend her.
”Your Grace I…” The General seeming at a loss for words. Dismissing his Moon Ball he begins to shrink back to his normal size, embarrassed that he had let himself get so wrapped up in the situation that he had let himself go in such a way.
”I apologize, I had forgotten myself.” Surprisingly his words would be met with a small chuckle.
”Hold your apologies, they are not needed. I am quite glad to see you so passionate when it comes to defending me. This whole simulation was a test after all. The first part had been set up to observe your negotiation skills and this to see what you might do if something was to befall me. Your performance was pleasing Toa.” A General of the Saiyan army, her right hand, should be as passionate as this yet with a mind towards strategy first and foremost. Only when backed into a corner had he really let himself go with the hopes of protecting his Queen. There was no fault in that.
”Such commitment to keeping me safe only proves that I chose correctly in thinking that you would be my second in command. Come, we have done enough for today.” Akassa motions for him to follow, heading towards the door of the simulator, but he calls for her to stop.
”Your Grace…you honor me. I will not fail you for as long as live.” Looking back to him Akassa would see that he had dropped to one knee, clenched fist pressed to his chest in salute. Giving him an honest smile, one of her rarer expressions, the Queen motions for him to rise and follow. Such loyalty was not going to be overlooked moving forward, Akassa even more pleased with the outcome of this little test.
”I do not doubt it General Toa, there is much that we will accomplish together.” The statement was something she believed to her core, Akassa having plenty of plans for the near future and beyond. With him being an extension of her will such progress would only become easier. It was time to gather more allies, each one strengthening her forces and pushing her ever forward. Hopefully all we as loyal as the Saiyan General.
