Della rolled her shoulders as she appeared within the main room of the ring, this was where she(or Jenn depending on your perspective) had spent the overwhelming majority of her existence due to the bindings that had once been on her over countless years it had been remodeled and reshaped but it still generally speaking remained the same room, sometimes simple, sometimes extravagant(usually extravagant) but always a bedroom, somewhere she could go and rest for a few years between training or being summoned. Della was not entirely certain EXACTLY when she had created the room specifically, the fact that she could not recall a time when it had not existed meant that perhaps it had been the first thing she had created. Outside of this room there were few others that Della kept for extended periods of time.
Countless training rooms had been created over the centuries but most were torn down once Della decided she had done enough work, there was a library that was perhaps the second longest standing room, and other than that there was only the painting room. The library was a creation out of necessity, once it became clear that while her memory was certainly far better than that of other beings it was most certainly not infallible, the library was created both to store any books that she could get her hands on and also to contain important knowledge that was not necessarily found in books on Earth, things Della wished to ensure that if she could not always remember it clearly she had some means of jogging her memory. The painting room was, in the grand scheme of things, new. Originally it had been a traditional room like the others, something that could easily fit in a building but after years on the Lookout it had evolved with Della as she reshaped it into the image of her home, the Lookout.
Other than those three rooms Della had no other real constants, now however there was another room. Perhaps not yet a 'constant' as its existence was only measured in days currently but it was unlikely it would be something that Della would find herself removing any time soon, a true permanent training room devised by the rings newest inhabitant. No. The new room was a wild mixture of magic and technology as No devoured tomes on runic magic so that she could incorporate it into her technological advances. As of yet it had all worked out extremely well, the simulator worked perfectly, the gravity worked exceptionally, but it still saw fairly little use. As of yet Della had really only used it once, to face off with the Queen of New Vegeta and quite the test that had been. Since then it had been a few days and Della had not sought to use the machine. Today that would change, her match with Akassa had shown her that she was most certainly NOT the strongest being around and if Akassa was beyond her strength then that meant there could be others, and they could very well seek to harm the Earth.
Della wanted no part of being so woefully underpowered compared to an enemy as she had been against Kemuri when he had first sought to take the Earth. At that time it would have taken all of them at once to defeat him and perhaps had things been allowed to progress normally they might have done so, but presently all that battle held for Della was defeat, a defeat she intended not to experiance again. Stepping forward Della whisked herself out of her room and into the training room, taking a look around at the silver panels that lined the walls occasionally spotting the rune stones in various important positions throughout the room Della looked for No, a few moments of searching eventually yielded to Della the artificial woman’s position up high in the control room. In an instant Della was there faster movement than even her shunpo was capable of as her command of the ring made it such that she merely had to choose to be somewhere in the world she had created and she would be there. "Good morning No" Della greeted letting herself fall back against a wall as she watched the woman work.
No had in an insanely short amount of time learned exactly how to manipulate the rooms that she created within the ring, Della still presided over them as the ultimate authority but anything that No created could be shaped to her will, despite this however No worked tirelessly to physically put together everything she created, she seemed only interested in creating the materials necessary to do her work rather than simply commanding the ring to do the work for her, perhaps it was the delicate nature of what she was doing, runic carvings were something that could not be simply produced even with the ring's magic, they needed to be carved properly and perhaps it was a similar situation with the technology that No worked with, Della had seen a few times that the devices required such tiny pieces to function properly most of what looked like the 'important' things instead merely sent signals to the tiny pieces that did the work. Presently No was waist deep inside of the machine that controlled the simulator however Della distinctly heard a 'oh!' after she had spoken up meaning that No had at least heard her.
A few moments and an assortment of strange sounds from the machine passed and eventually No pried herself free from the machine grinning excitedly at Della "Hey Del, what’s up?" "I was thinking of making use of the simulator again No, is it... working?" Della questioned tilting her head slightly in an effort to catch a glimpse of wherever No had been finding it practically filled with an assortment of colored wires "Oh yeah I was just calibrating a few things for down the road, expansions to the gravity controls and other fun things. I used some pretty basic gravity runes for the first version so I want to make sure I can switch them out for a more powerful set once you hit the limits of the current ones" No explained with a surprising amount of clarity, often it was difficult to keep up with the woman either because she spoke too quickly about her work or what she was speaking about ended up sounding like an entirely different language due to how little Della understood about the mechanics behind what No did, it was only when they discussed the rune magic aspects of the simulator that Della found herself able to really hold up conversation and even then it was becoming harder and harder to match No's understanding of it.
"I think... I might also have a pretty good idea for you." No said earning a raise of the eyebrow from Della, the last times No had an idea for the simulator they ended up mixing technology and magic and then Della had fought the Queen of the Moon which left Della interested in the new idea but prepared for things to go utterly beyond the original scope of No's idea. "So remember when we were talking about the ways simulators can be used, how you can fight anyone in the universe who has one and because of that they sometimes get used for tournaments?" No asked earning a nod from Della "Well it just so happens there's one that's supposed to be starting up tonight, I can sign you up now and then you'll have a whole bunch of opponents to fight. It’s done over the course of a week so you won’t have to fight literally all of them tonight. It's intended to be mostly skill based so there’s a power limit in place so even if you end up being stronger than everyone you'll still have a challenge." No explained with a wide grin, the idea certainly sounded interesting it gave Della multiple chances to test her skills as well and more reason to make use of the simulator. "Alright, sign me up." Della said with a nod earning an excited cheer from No "I kind of already did because I figured you'd want to and I could just cancel it if you didn’t" She said with a grin earning a roll of the eyes from Della. “Fine then set me up with something to get me warmed up for the first match, I have a few ideas I want to run through before I face more opponents from around the universe, does this tournament provide any information about who you are to your opponents before the fights begin?” Della questioned as she started to exit the control chamber motioning for No to follow along. The sound of No scurrying after her told her all she needed to know “Not in the first round, they don’t really ask for much information outside of some pretty basic stuff for signups so even if someone got access to it they wouldn’t get much on you. Species isn’t even a required field so I didn’t have to come up with something to put down for you, I GUESS I could have just put down Efreeti or Genie since I’m pretty sure none of them even have a clue what those are and would just think you were from a far off planet.” No explained and even without seeing her Della could tell she was talking animatedly waving her hands about and ending with a non-committal shrug.
“Good, I probably would not have bothered looking into them to keep things a bit more even and them knowing nothing about me suits me just fine, you did say that was just for the first round though right?” Della questioned not having missed the way No had phrased that “Yeah well they don’t really specifically give out anything after the first round but the videos of the matches are available for everyone who’s got an internet connection to watch and since this is done over a simulator your pretty unlikely to encounter anyone who doesn’t at least have someone who can navigate the web for them” No said earning a nod from Della, that meant that ideally it would be best to limit exactly how much she displayed each match just showing off everything she could do in the first round would give a significant edge to any opponents she fought later as they could prepare to counter her techniques. But of course it also meant that if she reviewed the videos of her potential opponent’s matches then she would know at least some of what they were capable of, many fighters tended to specialize in there fighting style which meant she could gleam from those matches an idea of what else they might be capable of. Some would be more difficult if they were more general like her but those were likely to be the more interesting matches anyway.
“So what do you want me to set you up with, one big nasty opponent or a couple weaker ones?” No asked cutting through the brief silence that had settled as Della thought on the coming matches “A single opponent would be best, it is what I need to prepare to face, keep it roughly on par with my own power since you said that the power limitations would keep things even.” Della said with a nod knowing that she was likely giving No a bit TOO much leeway with control over the coming simulation, the few brief testes they had done had gone… interestingly when No was left to run things however she wanted “If you could do me a favor and –try- to keep things from getting out of hand that would be best, I don’t imagine I will be facing and thirty foot tall fire breathing robotic tyrannosaurs in this tournament and I would ideally like an opponent that might match what I may indeed face.” Della said as they entered the actual simulator earning an exaggerated sigh from No “You don’t know that! I bet there is at least one planet that has those that might also have simulator technology!” Della slowly turned her head to look at No giving her a long exasperated look as the artificial woman pouted “Then I suppose I will remain woefully unprepared for that situation.” Della said with a sigh earning another pout from No as she vanished from the simulator reappearing in the control booth just a moment later.
“Fiiiiiine, one relatively normal simulator coming up… party pooper” No’s voice came through clear on the intercom system though the last part was clearly intended to be said once she was no longer speaking into the microphone. The world melted away around Della before she could make any sort of response as No initiated the simulation.
Della blinked a few times as the world shifted and reshaped becoming something entirely different that her simulator chamber, where once there had been high walls of paneled steel now the area around her was wide open no walls and only a relatively large platform from what she could see, a quick shunpo to the edge of the platform revealed to Della that she was not necessarily alone, the battlefield that No had created was some sort of arena and far below were the viewers for this fight, No tended to be a bit over the top and it did not particularly surprise Della that she would go so far as to create an audience for a simple simulation. Something about all of this felt strangely… familiar… Not in the same way as if she had specifically been here before but as if she had seen something like this before. “Any time you’d like to start the fight would be nice…” Della muttered and after saying so Della could have sworn she could hear the sound of No laughing.
“I’m ready when you are” Della heard a voice call out surprising her slightly, Della turned to view the source of the voice and found it belonged to a young woman; she was a bit shorter than Della’s current form but in spite of her youth she stood casually while still radiating a readiness for a fight, the girls attire seemed… ill-fitting for a fight it appeared to be a very stylized version of the modern school attire for a girl her age, dark blue with red trimming and what appeared to be an eye on the shirt. Della raised an eyebrow at the young woman knowing that despite her appearance it was likely that No had something in mind, reaching out with her senses Della could feel that true to her expectations the young woman was quite powerful but not quite as near Della’s full strength as she would have expected from No. “You appear quite strong, but I hope you have a bit more power hidden somewhere, otherwise this will be just a bit boring.” Della said more to No than to the simulated girl, an attempt to remind her friend that while the coming tournament had power restrictions that there was no such need for them in this training exercise.
The young woman snorted at the comment and then cast a glance off to the side, to a pillar even higher than the one the battle would be happening on, Della could idly feel the presence of another significant power reading and shortly after detecting it she saw another woman step forward, just barely within view due to the distance but in view nonetheless. A resounding –clack- echoed throughout the area as the other woman stepped forward “Round four… begin!” called the voice of the other woman her voice stronger and more commanding than anyone that appeared to be that young had any reason to be. Casting a glance back at her opponent Della grinned as the young woman now appeared a bit more serious. It was rather amusing how much work No seemed to be putting into this simulation she had evidently created some form of tournament setting for this exercise even going so far as to have the fight not even be the ‘first’ fight.
With the start of the fight declared the young woman slipped into a fighting stance and much to Della's confusion raised her left arm to chest level grabbing a small chain-like extension on her glove and pulling it out causing a burst of light
"Life Fiber Synchronize, Kamui Senketsu!" Called the voice of the young woman as the light faded revealing that she had taken on a rather… unexpected transformation, it had certainly done QUITE the job of increasing her power as now Della could feel that the woman would not quite easily be able to challenge her… but in return it had caused a drastic change in her wardrobe in that where once she had been wearing fairly reasonable clothing now she was practically wearing nothing at all, the majority of her clothing appeared to be on her legs and shoulders and that was just about it as only thin lines of fabric did the job of covering up the rest of her body. Even Della had to admit that such an outfit was a bit MUCH even with her past of having primarily only worn bandages around her chest at least they had actually covered things. Looking at the girl now Della felt the same sense of familiarity she had felt earlier while inspecting the arena that No had created and all at once it came crashing down on here where the odd sense of familiarity was coming from. This was a, albeit heavily modified scene from a show that No frequently watched on the television in the hotel room, the name of the show itself escaped her but the name of the young woman before her thankfully had stood out enough to be remembered ‘Ryuko Matoi’ the show had been rather over the top in its nature and while generally Della did not bother with watching No’s choice of entertainment the fighting in the show had been enough to briefly enrapture Della.
Recognizing the scene and the characters now Della sighed briefly as she ran a hand through her hair, she had wanted something a bit more… reasonable… and technically speaking this WAS more reasonable than some of No’s tests, giant robot dinosaurs and other such strange things, at least her opponent was vaguely humanoid and fought like an actual person rather than simply mindlessly smashing the world around it. And if No COULD produce an accurate simulation of the show’s combat then this would be an interesting battle indeed.
“I cannot say I understand why you are dressed in a manner such as that… But it certainly has made you a far more compelling opponent” Della said with a smirk earning another snort from Ryuko, Della was fully prepared for the fight to begin but something seemed to be holding her opponent back she was obviously ready for combat herself but made no effort to engage yet which from Della’s cursory knowledge of the girl’s style was quite abnormal. “Is there something wrong Miss Matoi?” Della questioned a slightly surprised look from the teen over the pleasant manner that her name had been spoken. If Della’s understanding of the context of the show was correct this battle was set in an alteration of the girl’s battle with the academy’s ‘elite four’ Della could even see off in the distance the area where the four had awaited battle, gone already was the titanic man who took a strange amount of pleasure in having pain inflicted upon himself, along with the technologically inclined boy with glasses, and as well the only female among the elite four who fought with the raw power of sound and weaponized instruments. The only remaining member of the group was the now-blind swordsman whom Della had enjoyed most of all of the elite’s, Sangeyama.
It was then that Della realized that the alteration to the context of the show perhaps was more than simply her being plopped into the setting to face off with the main character, No was… fanatical… about certain shows to say the least and among them this show ranked quite high for her, it did not seem impossible that she would attempt to make thing ‘work’ as best she could. Which following what little Della understood of the mad spiral that she called No’s thought process perhaps it was that No modified the group to be an elite ‘five’ with herself among them. Looking down briefly Della sighed as she noted a modification to her own appearance, one she had failed to take notice of before now. She was presently garbed in clothing fitting for the academy in which the show was primarily set. “Ah I suppose you wish for me to transform as well” Della questioned slightly amused by the situation her comment only serving to rouse the anger of the young woman “You must think pretty highly of yourself if you think you’ve got a chance of winning without transforming” Ryuko said through gritted teeth.
“I am unsure if I actually –need- to transform” Della said pausing slightly as she watched Ryuko grit her teeth in annoyance as the girl interpreted her statement as an insult not knowing that Della’s –normal- method of increasing power did not require the same methods as she was used to, in this world from what Della could see most of one’s power came from the act of transforming, using power stored within articles of clothing, Della noticed that her own clothes were the same sort of uniform that others at this school wore and she even possessed the same number of ‘stars’ as the Elite members of the school. “But I suppose it could not hurt to give it a try.” Della said as the stars on her uniform began to glow brightly as her transformation began her current outfit dissolving as light enveloped her for a few brief moments “Three Star Goku Uniform: Mystic Regalia” Della called the strange words coming to her as the transformation completed, the process was in many way much like simply releasing the restraints she put on herself but accompanied by a change of outfit, what had once been a fairly standard school uniform was now replaced by a rather extravagant extrapolation of what most would consider a stereotypical wizards robe bur rather than being made of just cloth it had many metal bands clearly designed to protect its wearer all over it.
Testing her range of movement slightly Della found herself surprised with how easy it was to move in what certainly should have been incredibly unwieldy clothing perhaps an inherent property of the transformation itself? Della knew rather little about exactly how these uniforms functioned having not experienced the entirety of the show that they were born from. Ryuuko looked slightly perplexed by the transformation perhaps more used to transformations that appeared directly hostile, the only other whom Della knew to have a transformation that lacked a direct visual means of attacking was the boy with the high collar. “Well now, I suppose it is time we got down to it then?” Della said with a smirk, technically the fight had already begun and Ryuuko could have made an attack at any point before now but she appeared to be uninterested in attacking someone she perceived to be at a direct disadvantage, untransformed people of this world were generally not durable enough to go up against those with ‘Goku Uniforms’ or in Ryuuko’s case a Kamui.
The young woman seemed to have a brief verbal exchange with what most would assume to be herself, her expression briefly growing frustrated before returning to her more natural neutral-but-ticked-off look along with her perpetual scowl, Della was at least aware that Ryuuko’s transformation was far different than her own, the uniform she wore held a sort of consciousness of its own and could provide information to her if it picked up on something that she had not. Perhaps it had picked up on the idea that she was not quite the same as the others that the girl had fought. Della smirked to herself as she decided it best to test how well Ryuuko and Senketsu’s senses were, taking a step forward Della vanished from sight and she briefly noted a look of surprise on Ryuuko’s face as she reappeared next to her the scantily clad girl throwing herself to one side as Della lashed out with a blow aimed at her side, the strike impacting but not delivering nearly as much power as Ryuuko rolled with the strike quickly flipping herself back onto her feet.
“I was unsure exactly how well we would pair up but if you reacted that well to an attack like that you might prove to be a fun opponent.” Della said with a grin, people in these shows tended to enjoy a not insignificant amount of banter in a fight which lined up rather nicely with how Della enjoyed fighting. Ryuuko scowl deepened once again as she dashed forward with impressive speed closing the small distance between them in just a moment before lashing out with a quick series of strikes with the scissor blade. Della ducked and weaved to avoid the first few strikes but a well times swing from Ryuuko forced Della to take action summoning a long sword to defend herself, rather quickly Della found that standard weaponry was rather ineffective against Ryuuko’s blade as the two weapons clashed twice before Della’s blade yielded cracking with each strike it took.
Grititng her teeth Della was forced to summon another blade and this time empowered it with her energy, the clash of blades lasted much longer this time but all the same after a few solid strikes Della found even her empowered blade cracking under the power of Ryuuko’s scissor blade, a fact that forced Della to shunpo away as Ryuuko took a mighty swing at her very nearly catching Della in the side. Tossing the now broken blade away Della sighed as already Ryuuko was charging forward ready to press her offensive. The girl was quite tough and while she lacked much in the way of finesse with her blade she certainly made up for it with raw power and skills picked up through many fights “It appears that a normal weapon just will not do. You are forcing me to break out something a bit… better.” Della said with a smirk as Ryuuko drew close, with one hand outstreached Della summoned the Staff of One briefly surprising Ryuuko but doing little to ward her off of an attack.
Now armed with her Staff defense and countering Ryuuko’s attacks became significantly easier. No matter how many times the Scissor Blade and her Staff clashed neither weapon seemed particularly effected by the exchange, now it was simply down to the power and skill of their wielders. Della grinned at that particular thought, likely due to her request for an ‘even’ fight Ryuuko was essentially even with her in terms of power, her power seemed to generally lay a bit lower but once the girl got fired up her power rather immediately skyrocketed often matching and occasionally briefly overtaking Della’s own power but never did her power fall or rise to a level where either held enough edge to take advantage of, Ryuuko too seemed at least vaguely aware of this perhaps informed of it by her Kamui and her expression was a difficult one to read, she certainly seemed to be enjoying the battle that much was certain. But if memory served this was an important moment in the shows plot, Ryuuko had not seen it all the way through and thus knew nothing more of what happened past the girls battle with the musical girl Nonon but knew that Ryuuko was fighting to face her real target, Satsuki.
Breaking off from the melee exchange Della vanished from Ryuuko’s sight once again deciding to have a bit of fun with the simulation, to see if trying to play along with the plot somewhat would yield more interesting results. “You are doing far better than I expected, you certainly possess quite a bit of skill with that blade. But.” Della said pausing for amusement and dramatic effect, she had more than enough time to work with due to the distance she had placed between herself and Ryuuko. “How do you intend to defeat Lady Satsuki if you cannot even break my defenses?” Della said with an amused grin as Ryuuko drew close, now was perhaps a good time to test out how far she could push her transformative powers, in her fight with Akassa she had pushed them beyond what she assumed to be close to her limits finding she could transform herself briefly into something that was not in and of itself alive. Now she intended to press the limits of what she could already do with shifting but use a bit of what she had learned. Her form wavered slightly as Ryuuko entered melee again, Della’s staff ready to defend the initial attack sequence Ryuuko lead with, unless pushed the girls methods of attacking seemed to become a touch predictable but Della fully intended on giving her that push to become a bit more wild and reckless. Her form wavering once again Della’s shift completed far faster than normal though still a bit below what she wanted, shortly after Della’s own transformation the Staff of One as well made a transformation matching the proper weapon to be wielded by Della’s current form.
She had chosen this form in particular because she KNEW it would light the fire in Ryuuko. Gone was the armored robe, replaced by a white uniform that could easily have passed off as a ‘normal’ school girls uniform were it not for the two fierce eyes on it, gone was Della’s wild red hair as it was replaced by the smooth perfectly managed black hair of Ryuuko’s current nemesis. Kiryuuin Satsuki. Della’s entire form was replaced by Satsuki’s own untransformed appearance and attire, The Staff of One itself was replaced with a perfect recreation of Satsuki’s Bakuzan and if the expression on Ryuuko’s Kamui was any indicator it seemed that she had gotten down the last piece of the puzzle as well. Della could feel Satsuki’s power even now, it radiated like a beacon, and made it quite easy for her to use it in her first test run of her latest method of shifting. Energy mimicry. With Ryuuko as surprised as she was Della’s next attack was able to strike true enough to send the girl flying back a few feet, a single sword slash aimed intentionally at the Scissor blade as Della had no intention of specifically harming Ryuuko with that particular attack she simply wanted to give herself a bit of space to work with.
As Ryuuko recovered and seemed to take a moment to once again confirm what her eyes were seeing Della took that time to tap the three bands on her bicep to initiate her own Kamui’s transformation. Thankfully simply mimicking the uniform did not actually create a ‘living’ replica of Junketsu. “Life Fiber Override: Kamui Junketsu!” Della declared this time it felt a bit more natural, she knew those words from having actually seen the transformation before. Schooling her features into her best impression of Satsuki Della stood with her Bakuzan ready for Ryuuko’s next attack.
