He had been the smartest of them all; rushing towards the opposite edge of the city before the energy Nasu was gathering had even been released. Those that sought to resist the Saiyan forces had attempted to stop him and although they had slowed his progress, all their efforts rewarded them with was pain. Despite his preemptive flight from the impending danger the Saiyan General was still caught up in the blast like the rest. Energy burned at his back, Toa felt him thrown forward along with it. The city all had attempted to save was burnt to nothing behind him as he flew forward into the words beyond the city. Slamming into trees he felt them all snap before him, the ancient plants no match for the amount of force that was behind his forced flight.
When he finally came to rest, in the side of a hill, Toa groans. His body ached…but he was alive. Pulling himself from the dirt and rock, he stumbles to his feet. Rolling his shoulders, pain spikes across them as he reaches out with his sense. They were fuzzy, but he felt Maya…yet…where was Akassa? A moment later he had his answer, the surge of power that leapt into the air above the city no doubt his Queen. With a crack of his neck he notes, Maya’s signature not that far off.
Lifting to the air he heads towards her, not exactly using his full speed, the soldier’s confidence at a high now that their weaker foes had been scattered and stronger ones were dropping like flies to Akassa. Dropping down next to the alien girl, Toa turns to face the city.
“I am glad to see you are alive. I believe the day his won.” His head nodding towards the golden figure of Akassa lifting into the air above the city, the signature that radiated from form like nothing Toa had ever felt. He had been right to believe in her.

How long had it been? Minutes? Hours? A day? No, couldn’t be that long, there was still a cloud of billowing smoke and smoldering debris rising into the sky. The music player had a complete video record of the events but for the moment Ethan didn’t even know he still had the thing, he was only just reopening his eyes after the thunderous crash that had laid him up against this pile of dirt. The important thin was though that he’d been left alone, no one had come after him and that had given him time to recover, recover of course being a relative term, his ribs were still in sad shape and every inch of his body ached or stung in some form or another. The city was gone, completely obliterated with the loss of who knows how many thousands of lives. No evacuation in the world short of a mass teleportation like something out of a science fiction television show could have gotten everyone out of the city. Even if such a system existed what did that say about the people who built it? That they were ready to roll over and hide from a planetary neighbor they knew was untrustworthy? That just spoke to the cowardice of the leaders and to the savagery of the monsters Earth had spend such time and resources in helping. No, there was no kidding anyone here, no shiny fantasy to glaze over the fact that thousands of people have been ruthlessly murdered by the savage alien butchers who once pretended to be Earth’s friends.
There was now nothing more that could be done, Ethan was in no shape to help in any capacity nor was he even able to do so before he’d been clobbered. Central City was lost and it was all those monster’s fault. Laying there, Ethan remembered their bitch queen’s irrational words, how she claimed they were being held captive. How the hell does that even work? At any time they could have left to seek a new home of the ongoing hospitality of Earth was rally so oppressive. But no, rather then be polite guests that didn’t want to stay anymore, they set fire to the house of their hosts. Well one day that psychotic tyrant would be burned and it will be exactly what she and her mongrel generals deserve. Until that time though Ethan wanted no part of this wider world anymore. He longed for the safety and security of the family compound once again but knew he couldn’t risk returning there as his own energy, meager as it was, was still far beyond that of anyone living there and might serve as a beacon to attract unwanted company to his former home. All it would take is one slip up, one bad dream in the middle of the night to get his adrenalin flowing and BAM, a squad of murdering brutes could show up at the compound gates. No, he had to isolate himself far away from people if he hoped to keep them safe. The tropics perhaps? There were hundreds of islands he could visit and perhaps make a home on. Or even better, a house boat. With his control over water it would be easy to ensure he always had smooth seas to travel in and what could be a better hiding place to live in then one that moved around?
It was settled then, the blue haired teen would head south. Now all he needed to do was actually get there. The shirtless boy started slowly, first lifting his arms. ‘Good, good, nothing broken there.’ Then his legs. ‘Ok, I should be able to stand… I think.’ Then finally after taking a few moments to prepare himself for the serge of pain he was sure to feel from his ribs as he got up, Ethan started to climb back to his feet.
“Errrr… yeah, still broken.” the boy grunted as he stood, wrapping his left arm around his side. Taking another moment to breath and look around, the teen still didn’t see anyone and assumed the coast was clear. Diverting some of his weakened supply of energy to his legs, Ethan raised his right leg and his immaterial surfboard materialized under his raised foot. Then stepping up onto the board with his left, Ethan was aloft and gliding away from the trench and small hill he’d left behind. Keeping himself aloft though wasn’t an easy task as the boy’s energy had been greatly taxed during the altercation and he’d still not had a chance to remove his training weights. The oppressive instruments were still more or less intact and as he examined himself in flight, Ethan was pleased to see his music player was still with him, although the headphone wire was molted away about half way down, dangling down about his knees from the player. He’d have to replace his headphones but at least his player had survived.
(Departing topic. Requesting power level increase. My heavy weights are in effect.)

It was Toa that had been first to spot her and not the other way around, though she had gone about trying to find the man first she was flying blind as to where he might have been. The massive explosion had torn sheets of the world apart around the city and set all of those nearby in a tumble of confusion and chaos, the chances they would find each other so quickly... were difficult to determine yet it happened. It was a welcomed site to spot the general, not for the means of his own well being but for the fact that he would be able to track Akassa down within seconds apposed to Maya having to manually search every section of the ruins to find the woman.
More or less from the wear and tear of the attacks he sustained and the rippling force of the explosion Toa was still in fighting condition though the trickling of blood from his body wasn't the best of signs, such a small wound wouldn't render a man like him useless though. Slowing down in her approach they stopped next to one another to exchange small pleasantries expected after such events that had come.
"As to you, Toa."
Maya responded to his... compliment. She was unsure whether it was welcoming gesture or merely stating in the kindest of ways that he was surprised she had made it out at all but Maya chose not to push the matter as his attention was more fixated across the horizon.
Head craned towards what remained of the city he spoke calmly though there was a hint of pride in his voice, and Maya well understood from where it was came from and directed towards. While his words where spoken to Maya they were not speaking of her but for that of Akassa.
Following where his eyes locked onto Maya watched from a far at the glowing radiance that was Akassa, rising from the ashes of the city like a phoenix being reborn. The woe that clung at her thoughts began to melt away like the suns warming embrace from a long winter, so much had been thought of what would be if Akassa fell from the highest graces of the universe today. All of it had been washed away with the sight of the woman, power fluctuating around her person; Toa was right, this day was won. It did beg the question however as to why Akassa did not direct her attention towards her allies but instead drive her force away from the two and towards another part of the destroyed city.
"Perhaps not all is yet won ...."
Without another word Maya's powers returned to its full strength in a silver burst of shimmering aura. Something of greater importance had taken Akassa's mind and whatever it was Maya was damned if she would not stand by the woman's side and aid her with what little powers she contained. Whether or not Toa chose to follow was his choice alone to make, she could not make any judgments on his behalf though following his Queen where ever she went seemed to be something he would do.
Jets roaring to life Maya tore across the sky line following the wake of energy that Akassa had left behind, she would not lose sight of Akassa again, this time she would be there for Akassa when she would need her most. Black hair whipping across her face Maya pushed all she had into her flight, for what reason that Maya did not know Akassa was still needed, this fight was not yet over.
"I'm coming Akassa...."
