The foolish halfing finally seemed to catch on to the simple truth; inaction was death. His inability to react quickly to a dangerous situation left one dead and possibly many more injured. Was it cowardice which made him slow to act? Would it be the same which would make him quick to flee? The rogue believed both to be the case, yet he was determined to find the truth.
He hollered, puffed out his chest and made boisterous declarations. The darkly clad namekian felt as he may be blown over by the gust of hot air. It made him near nauseous, truly. Actions were the only things this particular namekian respected. “Does it now?” was his simply reply, which he spoke plainly whilst he continued to walk away, toward the smoldering village. Words were just means to prompt such actions, so he spoke sparingly for when he did they had purpose, cause.
Then the wretch decided to make a move, choosing the kiezan as his opening salvo. The rogue respected the technique’s sheer lethality, and thus effectiveness. Surprisingly enough the boy’s aim was sufficient, though it would never succeed. This supposed warrior would know true hardship; he would be tempered against the flames, the rouge would determine if he was indeed brittle as he believed.
Another smart move was its placement, being aware of the village in the distance, he incorporated the town people’s safety into his tactics. Begrudgingly, the towering namekian respected that forethought, though he hardly felt it would be enough. Sadly for Ethar, his opponent had long since mastered ki sensing, and did not need to see to know of the approaching attack or its trajectory. When the disc of destruction finally reached the mysterious warrior its aim would prove true, slicing right through the abdomen. However doing so would disrupt the afterimage it had pierced.
At that moment he would appear a few short feet behind Ethar, as if David’s Goliath himself. Without hesitation his eyes would glow as twin beams leapt forth, looking to engulf the partial saiyan which stood in front of him, facing away. Meanwhile, regardless of where the beam struck, the resulting debris would settle just before reaching the namekian, as planned.

Ethar watched his his Kienzan almost hit its actual mark, but hit an afterimage instead. "Curses... He knows Zanzoken as well... Two can play at that game." Ethar thought.
It was then he would surprise the Rouge, as he had surprised Ethar. He to had mastered Ki Sensing as well, and sensed the rouge was right behind him. Faking it, Ethar said "Oh crap..." as he would seemingly let the eye lasers hit their target.
But much to the rouge's surprise, he would see that his eye beams ALSO hit an afterimage of the saiyan hybrid. And using his Zanzoken to leave an afterimage of himself, he also moved to the Rouge side, and grinned "You missed...." He said, as energy immediately charged up in one of his hands and quickly fired a Full Power Energy Wave at point blank range. And since Ethar was at the Rouge's side, the trajectory of the attack, should it miss, would pass harmlessly and explode in the nearby ocean, not harming any innocents.
Even if his energy beam attack missed, Ethar would use his other free hand to charge up another Kienzan, but instead of launching it, Ethar would use it as a close ranged Melee weapon, and swing up in the Rouges direction. He would show the Rouge that any ordinary technique could always be changed to have a more unique use...

Surprised was a bit of an overstatement. Zanzoken was one of the most prolific moves amongst those of the substantial power. Having lived for a few hundred years now he knew the technique inside and out, from both the receiving and performing ends. Rolling his shoulders as his eye beams disrupted the afterimage, and the ground around it, the mutt appeared where he expected.
Most users go out of their way to not replicate their opponent’s when performing zanzoken, so he did not expect the boy to appear behind him. Nor did he think him battle savvy enough to think of ending the speed boost above, using the many light of Namek’s many suns to partially conceal his intentions. This left one of his sides, and given how he had been fighting, the rouge expected the trajectory of Ethar’s attack to be pointed in a direction away from the city.
When his hand lifted to pool energy, so too did the namekian’s. When one fired an energy wave, so did the other. The two beams would meet in the short distance between the two warriors, the energy colliding before quickly warping and fluctuating wildly before simply exploding. The blast would easily engulf both warriors. Jumping backward from the debris cloud, and high into the air, the rouge would levitate for a moment to sense out the situation.
Having noticed the kienzan forming, he would hold out both hands, fingers extended yet clenched together and palms flat. Ki would rippled over them from the wrist to the fingertips until a wild power overtook them; yellow ki swords engulfing each hand. If the boy was foolish enough to use the disc at short range, or worse yet in a melee situation, he liked to be prepared. However, the boy would have to be careful, as a kienzan did not care who you are, if caught in its path it you slice you asunder without remorse, target or creator alike.

After Ethars attacks were blocked, and failed to reach their target, Ethar waved away some of the smoke and saw that the Rouge had formed two ki swords after jumping away from him.
He was ready for him. "Odd... His style seems to be different from before... Defending seems to be more natural for him then attacking..." he thought. He also found it odd that judging by the lack of destruction that had taken place before Ethar had arrived, and it only started when Ethar was near the island. It had been like the Rouge was only just arriving at that destination to start upsome ruckus...
And there were no dead warriors prior to him blowing up the village, and that was what struck him. Namekians who didnt defend the village? Destruction only taking place when Ethar arrived on the scene? Something was up, and Ethar had a feeling Pitka was in on this.
Forming another destructo disc on his other hand, ready to dual wield both discs, Ethar would show this namekian that he would of had training with similar deadly weapons when he was a child. But first, He had to know something...
"I dont know who you are... But be truthful with me... Did Pitka send you? My entire fight with you thus far has been to gather intelligence on you. And I think I just figured out WHY your doing all this. To test me to see if I am worthy for something?" He asked, ready to dodge if the Namekian came after him.
Earlier, He had been trying to figure out all the answers to the Who, What, When, where, Why and how of this entire fight, and putting all the pieces together, and now Ethar thought that he had just figured out the last piece of the puzzle...
The why....

The half-blood was observant… Sometimes. At moments it almost seemed as if he could see the glimmer that his father saw. But yet he could not, even if he strained to see, giving his father the benefit of the doubt. Whilst both recovered from the close up explosion, Ethar used the moment to finally gather his bearings. Use information from the world around you or in other words, awareness; the warrior’s more powerful skill. But glimpses of intelligence did not a warrior make.
When Ethar summoned the second kienzan to his hand the rouge cursed his arrogance; to think he could handle two at once? And apparently in melee from his stance; how foolish. Flaring the energy around his hands he prepared to leap forward when he opened his mouth again, finally showing some intuition. “FINE!” he roared, evaporating the mask which covered his face and removing the black outer clothing with one practiced swipe of his sword.
“I shall give you truth, boy! My father, Grand Elder Pitka, believes in you; that you are worthy of his gift!” The eight foot tall namekian scoffed. “I am here to prove him wrong; to show him the coward you really are!” he roared as pointed both arms forward and the flashing ki swords began to extend their searing edge straight at the boy warrior below. One center of his chest, to pin him when he went to move, and the other center of his head so when he tried to fly or jump it would snag him. Cudikyl grinned for the first time in a long time; he would prove his father wrong!

"If I was a coward, I would of ran from you at first sight... if I was a coward, I would of ran from the Queen of Saiyans when she invaded my planet. But did I do any of that? No, I stood my ground!" He said, as he watched the 8 foot namekian, who revealed himself to be the son of Pitka begin his deadly assault.
Luckily for Ethar, his reflexes were above par... above that of a normal saiyans, or a humans. He dodge to the side, avoiding the sword aimed at his chest, and leaned his head backwards, avoiding the sword aimed at his head. Right when he was temporarily safe from the assault, Ethar spun and threw one Kienzan at Cudikyl, but retained the other one.
But the way he threw the first Kienzan, it was close enough to the sword that was aimed at his chest, that it caught onto the swords energy, and was seemingly riding it right towards Cudikyl's arm. But that wasnt the half of it, as Ethar used the other Kienzan in an attempt to knock the 'chest' sword upwards. If he was successful, making the sword bounce up with make the first Kienzan bounce up as well, altering its trajectory for Cudikyl's shoulder.
