It had been a rough few weeks since the destruction of Central City at the hands of the Lunar traitors. Ethan had spent fully half of this time recovering from his injuries during the battle, having found a small sea-side village to stay in. The blue haired boy had been the first to arrive at the town’s meager medical facility thanks to his ability to fly, but days later, the sleepy little town was swamped with the injured and the dying. Thousands had been brutally murdered that day and hundreds if not thousands more would later die of their injuries suffered during the savage and unprovoked attack. Ethan realized on that first day as refugees inundated the town, that he had no right to take up a hospital bed. His cracked ribs were nothing compared to some of the horrifying suffering trudging through the hospital’s doors.
Striking out once more, the teen wondered south, traveling mostly by foot as he had to make sure to conserve every bit of his power. Any unwarranted expulsion of energy could be enough to bring alien monsters down upon him and anyone around him so the boy was careful to suppress his power at all times and this of course meant that he could not fly. Along the way he stopped in various villages and towns, always though only a day or two ahead of the advancing waves of refugees. The flow of people escaping the city was inescapable and so Ethan had little choice but to resort to taking to the sea sooner then he’d planned. Stopping on one last town, the boy was fortunate to find exactly what he needed, a shipyard and better yet, one that manufactured boats and among them, houseboats. Further fortunate was the fact that despite the chaos in Central City, the banks world wide still appeared to be open, likely because no matter the crisis, someone always turns a profit.
With access to his credit account, the blue haired teen was able to purchase for himself a well-appointed craft and stocked it with a few weeks worth of provisions before setting out across the ocean. It took a few more days to learn the boat’s quirks, needs and capabilities but before long Ethan had mastered the craft and continued to navigate his way towards the southern tropical islands. By the time he’d arrived at the first group of islands, his ribs had finally healed and the boy was feeling fit enough to resume physical training as he sailed, but with the glinting towers of Metropolis Island in sight on the horizon, training would have to wait until after he restocked and departed for another, more isolated island.
Beaching his boat a few miles from the city, Ethan dropped the bow gangway to the sandy beach and walked ashore. Once more on land Ethan started down the beach towards the city where he hoped he might find a grocery store without having to hunt around too much. In the mean time though the shirtless boy enjoyed his walk along the beach, taking in the beautiful scenery and azure seas lapping up along the shore.
