A gentle soft breeze blew out over the Viridian sea, the sapphire grass on the surrounding isles billowing and seemingly enjoying the light gust of wind as it rode by. On one of these isles stood a single fellow, not namekian, but what looked like a standard human. This person was dressed in a dark orange gi, with black inner straps and a black belt tied around his waist coupled with dark blue baggy pants with a red stripe on the ends near the ankles. The only thing left on the man was on his left wrist; a simple three-bead bracelet that bore sentimental value to the aged man, but that was a story for another time. As the white haired, white mustached gentleman looked out into the sea before him, his hands resting atop one another on a plain dark wooden walking stick with a large knob. The man was motionless, and only stared at the emerald waters in front of him as if expecting something. A minute or so would go by before the seasoned man would raise an eyebrow as some of the water in front of him started to bubble, a few seconds later a giant beast of a sea creature would burst from beneath the sea. The fiend raised up more out of the water letting loose a menacing shriek and revealing a tiny namekian on the back of it, doing its best to hit and smack the beast while barely holding on. “Master….” The beast thrashed about to the left, forcing the tiny namekian to stiffen his grip on the monster. “Katsuo…I don’t think I can handle this!!!” The tiny namekian yelled out, fear in his fierce. “Relax young one, you’re doing fine. I can sense that it’s starting to wear out, you’ll have him beat in no time.” Of course the old man knew…better. The beast was nowhere near ready to tire out. “I..I don’t like this part of training!! I wanna go home and learn to farm again!” The namekian boy started to cry while still holding on for dear life as the sea creature continued to trash and wail about, trying to sling the namekian off its back. “Crying won’t help you whittle the beast down, best try thinking of something else. Also… I don’t think you have much time left before the mother arrives to check on her youngling.” The namekian stopped crying and immediately yanked his head toward the old man, speaking out of fear and anger. “Youngling?!?! You said this was the biggest, baddest creature in the sea!?!?!” “I did. Its species is. I probably should have told you that...must have slipped my mind…Old age can do that to you.” The elderly man said loud enough for the namekian to hear him over the cries of the sea being. The namekian just frowned and started to beat the beast with one hand once more, as his other held continued to clutch onto the hair of the monster. The beast ducked down beneath the water again taking the namekian with it, leaving the elderly man standing on the small emerald isle alone once more. The under the sea struggle didn’t last long before they both ascended up out of the water once more, the positioning of either having not changed much. “Can..I…at least… get a little help!!” Mr.Katsuo smiled and spoke. “Now you’re starting to learn. Having help from friends is always nice and though some may think it shows a weakness, in fact it shows that the person has enough strength to overcome their self pride and ask someone to help lend a hand...much like the time where I found myself…” “less speech and more helping!!” the young namekian yelled out “Ah yes ok hmm.” The elderly man looked around and then down at his staff. “Ahh.” Taking his staff he would throw it toward the namekian, the namekian struggling to catch it with his non-holding on hand. He looked at the old man with a confused expression. “A stick?? You give me your little walking stick? HOW IS THAT SUPPOSE TO HELP!?!?!” The namekian child screamed out in fury. Smiling, the old master spoke “You said a little help...my stick is little and it has the potential to help. You didn’t say much more than that. Sometimes prolonging your words and speaking out wisely is very beneficial in one’s endeavors. Ohh I got it, trying use such words to try and clam the fiery beast” The namekian squinted his eyes at the elderly man in annoyance, frustrated at the master’s odd teaching methods. Closing his eyes and shouting out once more, the namekian yelled in anger. “I HATE YOU MASTER!!!” “Ah hate... such a strong word…I don’t think that will help you out with that beast...trying using more caring words like ‘love’ or ‘I like you, lets try settling this over a nice cup of warm tea” The white haired sage yelled out, trying to help the young boy out some more. The namekian grunted and using the stick that Mr.Katsuo threw to him, started to beat the back of the beast. “Die die die die.” The little namekian started chanting, hoping that these ‘words of wisdom’ coupled with the beating it was being given by the... small stick would be enough to subdue the beast into submission. It wasn’t. It only seemed to enrage the giant sea creature it turn that it tried out a new tactic and as it started to duck back under the water, quickly ramped up it’s head and back much like a bucking motion. This proved to suffice as the young namekian lost its grip on the beast and was torpedoed high into the air, however luckily still holding on to the master’s stick. “I’m gonna diiieee” The young namekian clutched it’s small body around the master’s stick and held it for dear life as they both started to plummet back towards the sea. The sea monster seeing this, opened up its mouth, and readied itself to receive it’s hard earned meal. Just then another gust of wind came back, this one much stronger than the last, strong enough in fact to blow the stick holding namekian enough out of the way to not only avoid the enormous razor-sharp teeth of the sea creature, but also enough to where the stick would land right into one of the eyes of the creature. The creature immediately closed both of its eyes and deeply hollered out in pain. The force of the landing and the catching of the stick in the creature’s eye not only broke some of the stick upon the closing of said eye but also was enough to throw the young namekian off the stick and land on the same eye, forcing the creature to keep it closed and the broken off splinter of wood in the eye still. The rest of the stick flew back up into the air and as the sea beast let off another wail, it fell down and into the sea creature’s mouth. This caused the creature to yell even more and start to thrash about more furiously than it ever did before. The namekian held onto the eye of the creature intensely as he yelled out toward Mr.Katsuo. “What..is..happenig..it’s....so…angry now….” The whipping of the sea serpent making it hard for the young boy to speak. As the old man watched all of this unfold he scratched his chin. “Huh...I think the stick I used held some kind of poison that the beast is allergic to…what are the odds…” the old man said more so quietly to himself, and not loud enough for even the namekian ears to pick up over the loudness of the screaming creature and it’s thrashing about in the emerald sea. “WHAAT??” the namekian screamed, having picked up just a murmur of what the old master said. “Oh...I SAID I THINK THE WOOD THAT MY STICK WAS MADE OUT OF POISOINED THE BEAST!!!” The namekian, now closing his own eyes as he tried to continue holding on as hard as possible, yelled out again. “WHAT DOES THAT MEAN!?!! WHAT DO I DO!!” The old man pondered, rubbing his chin once more. “Good question…I have not a clue.” "WHAT!?!?!” “Oh that’s right...I SAID I DON’T KNOW!!” the cries of the namekian could now be slightly heard as the beast continued to ravage violently about, the creature moving closer and closer to a isle that housed a large mountainous rock. “I’m gonna die, I’m gonna die, die I’m gonna die.” The sea serpent finally thrashed its way near the large mountainous rock isle and made one final thrash and ended up crashing into the big rock mountain, some of crushed rock falling into the emerald sea and the other half crashing onto the isle and creating a large form of dust over the area. “Well…didn’t see that coming…I better go check on the young lad” The elderly man’s feet lifted up off the emerald green grass and he slowly flew toward the isle in which the crash happened. The shoeless feet of Master Katsuo landed on what was left of the isle, the dust having settled revealing most of the large serpent’s head resting on the disgruntled isle grass, the rest the elderly man figured was in the sea still. Of what he did saw, he didn’t see the young namekian boy. “Young Dolin? Where are you?” The elder sage listened as a small grunt could be heard from underneath the sea serpent’s head, using one arm the elderly man lifted the head of the serpent and thus revealed the namekian boy. His clothes ripped and completely torn in various places and bruises lining many areas of the green boy’s body. More grunts escaped the breath of the namekian as Toshio used his free arm to pull him out from underneath the head. Letting go of the now presumed dead serpent’s head, Toshio held Dolin up in the air and looked at the head of the dead sea serpent and spoke aloud. “Well…you did it lad…a little unconventional and a lot of luck...but you did it…Wake up boy.” Mr.Katsuo shook the boy about until he managed to open his eyes and look at the dead creature. “I hate training with you….I want to go back to Master Nohkan…” the seasoned master looked disappointed and while frowning spoke. “But look at what you accomplished. You managed to take down one of the biggest creatures this planet has to offer. Not many your age can say that, if any, and you did it all with just a stick. Imagine the stories you could tell...You’re a legend now.” Putting the young warrior down, the namekian would wipe his face and eyes before speaking once more. “Yea…but I like your stories way better. There less…straining on my behalf…and I’m not so much into creating my own like this just yet…I still have a long way to go…and a lot of healing…” “Ah yes, your journey is just beginning little one but each journey begins with a single step. For you, yours was more of a giant leap than a small step but hey…at least you started somewhere…In your retelling of this you could say you spoke softly but carried a big stick...or well...a poisonous one. Heheh, just imagine where you’d be if I hadn’t brought you out here and given you my stick. You wouldn’t have such a cool story to tell your buddies now would you.” The namekian was silent for a few moments before speaking “Yea, I would be back home…safe and sound in Piccolo City where no sea creatures can open up their mouth and attempt to swallow me whole…I see now why you stay in Guru village...nobody wants you in the big city.” Toshio frowned. “Hey...that’s not nice…anybody ever teach you to respect your elders you young whippier snapper.” The namekian hung his head. “Yes…you…every time we have a discussion like this….” “And for good reason seeing as it still has yet to take effect, now come on. Let’s go and leave this creature to be taken in by Namek’s nature. Next time I’ll bring you out here and tech you how to catch a cerulean gatorsword.” "Awww but Mr.Toshio you said after this we could get to actually spar…” The namekian frowned and looked up at the elderly man. “Ay, that I did and we will still do so…with cerulean gatorsword’s.” The namekian hung his head once more, grunting and mumbling under his breath as he and Toshio Katsuo lifted up off the grass and starts to slowly make their way back toward civilization. “Did I ever tell you about the time I went to New Vegeta back on Earth's moon and met their saiyan king there?” “No...no more stories for today please Mr.Katsuo...I’ve had enough adventure for one day, I barely have enough strength to fly back…” “But...but...this is a great one…I’ll tell you anyway, if you run out of strength I’ll carry you back. Anyways, it all started when…” the namekian boy grunted as Toshio would start yet another long winded story of his, probably filled with yet another speech…For the young Dolin, it was going to be a long flight back.

On the outskirts of Guru Village sat a lone Namekian. His legs were crossed under him and an upraised palm rested atop each knee. Eyes closed and back straight, any that saw him might have figured him a statue had he not been so well known. The distinctive aura that radiated from him and for those that could not sense, his attire, labeled him as none other than the Master Healer, Batto. Considered second only to Pitka himself, the green man was considered one of the wisest of his people. Often others came to him for advice, those from Namek and others from the many planets beyond. Rarely did he refuse any of these visitors, yet many did not get the direct answers they sought. Instead they received the knowledge to find the answers for themselves. From his position high atop the rock formation, Batto could have seen for miles had his eyes been open. Far down below blue grass rolled outwards, dancing over countless hills until it disappeared into the horizon. Green waters splashed along the shot not too far off, the Namekian ocean often much calmer than that of Earth whose waves had been known to destroy entire cities. Namek was a peaceful place for the most part and this spot high removed from ground level was even more so. For that reason the Master often traveled here, seeking to commune with the planet he called home. This position was no secret to those that knew him, yet few came seeking him here. It was as if a silent understanding had been agreed upon amongst the people, letting Batto have at least some time to himself.
Eyes still closed, the green man's ateni twitch as two signatures appear on his mental radar. One he recognized, the other he did not. Not breaking his mediation to look for them, Batto tracks them with his senses. They appeared to be coming closer, perhaps heading for the village. Neither moving to meet them or avoid them Batto did what he did with most things in life, let the events around him flow naturally. If they flew past him without a word that was just fine, their own business not meant to intercept his. On the other hand, if they were looking for him or chose to say hi there was no issue. His meditation was meant to get him closer to the world around him, not ignore selected parts of it.

“...And before I got into the ship to head back to Earth the strangest thing happened I...” Toshio’s story came to a halt as he felt another presence close by as the two were flying back to Guru village. Halting his flight, the young namekian stopping as well, Toshio would take the time to glance around, not sure if the sensed power level was friend or foe. “What is it Master Katsuo?” “I sense another’s presence more powerful than I and as far as I know Master Nohkan shouldn’t be out this far….” Dolin started to look around as well, a nervous expression on the young boy’s face. A few more seconds would go by before Dolin would see something atop a mountainous rock. Pointing it out he would speak to Toshio.
“Hey...is that someone? It looks like someone.” Toshio turned his gaze toward the thing at which the young boy pointed at. “Hmm...Looks like a statue.” Dolin squinted trying to get a better view without getting closer. “I..I don’t think so...I think it’s just someone sitting down and meditating…Master Nohkan sits like that sometimes…” “Hmm stay behind me young one as I draw in closer.” The young namekian nodded as he floated behind Toshio as he slowly made his way closer to the still sitting figure. Finally having gotten close enough to get a much better view of whatever was sitting on the rock, the elderly Toshio smiled. “Ah…it’s Master Batto…Hey...wait...I know this area…Ah my memory failed me yet again. This is one of Batto’s favorite spots, that large rock formation I recognize quite well now.”
Dolin just hung and shook his head. “Sometimes I have a hard time believing you’re a Master of anything except for long winded stories…” Toshio smiled once more. “Back in my heyday, I was quite the strapping young warrior...While I still try to maintain a great body, my mind I cannot keep fit as much. When you get to be my age young Dolin, you’ll see what I mean…” “But Grand Elder Pitka is over 400 years old and his memory seems to still be mostly in tact...” Toshio would quickly pound his fist on the namekian’s head, not enough to cause bruising but enough to cause ample enough pain, the young namekian grunting, wincing, and grabbing his head. “Hush boy, by now I’m sure Master Batto has sensed our presence and wondered why we are here bickering back and forth about youth. Come, let us greet the leader of the healer clan.” “ Ow...ok.”
The two continued to make their way to Batto’s resting place, arriving both of them noticed that Batto was indeed meditating, his eyes closed and seeming to be at peace with his namekian home. Even though his eyes were shut, Toshio still bowed in respect to the Master, instructing the young Dolin to do so as well. “Greetings Master Batto. I apologize for interrupting your serene rumination. I thought it would be well to have young Dolin here converse with you. He’s a young namekian warrior in training and I have taken him off Master Nohkan’s hands for a few days. I believe it would be wise to have him garner some understanding from the other half of the Namekian people, that of the healer’s. I can only offer so much in my five years of study here, years of knowledge I’m sure you have multiplied by the decades.”

The two signatures were drawing closer to him, both keeping pace with the other as they quickly covered the distance to his rocky resting place. At first his eyes remained shut, even when addressed by the older of the two visitors. Batto knew this man, Toshio Katsuo. As the man himself stated he had been on Namek for several years now, performing his research about the planet and the life that existed on it. By all tense and purposes he had a peaceful nature, the Healing Clan master having taken a liking to him some time ago. The other signature, this Dolin, was one he was actually unfamiliar with. That alone meant he was not from Guru Village for Batto knew every signature that existed within the community, knew them in instant to be exact. Slowly opening his eyes, they look from Toshio to Dolin.
"More understanding? The opinion of one is hardly enough to understand an entire culture, Toshio. Although, I agree it is a place to start. What is it you wish of me, I am sure the young one does note desire a long winded speech about the ancient ways of our people? Him being from Piccolo City, pardon my assumption, would make me even less inclined to think he might desire such a thing." The Master pausing for a second as a small smiles forms. "Perhaps we should just ask him then."
"What is it you wish to know Dolin?" The entire time Batto would remain seated as he had been, legs crossed under his rump forcing him to look up at the two visitors. Not standing or bowing was not a lack of respect for either of them, but he found genuflecting in anyway a little overused these days. So many thought themselves worthy of respect from those they had never met. Ideology such as that made no sense; respect was of course earned on an individual level.

Toshio and the young Dolin watched as the elder namekian’s eyes opened and looked at them both before speaking. Both Toshio and the young namekian listened to the words of the wise master healer and at the end the young Dolin was quick to speak up. “No more speeches no more speeches...I’ve had enough to last a entire lifetime…” The old man Toshio cracked a smile and spoke. “He’s not the most eager one when it comes to patience and learning through stories but he has made some progress with that. I have told him a lot about what I have come to know of the old namekian way, but alas five years of study cannot hold a candle to the centuries of knowledge that one such as yourself possess. The young one wished to experience more battle-hardened awareness, something that we’re just returning from.” The namekian grunting and mumbling under his breathe but loud enough for the other two to hear him “Yea...lucky to be alive…”
“Heh, what he means is that he knows now that battle experience can have a hefty price and does not always hold what one expects it to hold.” Toshio paused a minute to cough before continuing on, this time his words directed to Dolin. “But Master Batto wishes to let you decide on your course of information so choose wisely young Dolin.” Dolin grinned and his eyes widened, excited at finally having the ability to choose what he did. “I want to learn a new technique!! Something powerful enough that will make me even more powerful like that of Master Nohkan!” Toshio sighed and shook his head before placing his right hand on the young namekian’s head. “Master Nohkan has indeed spoiled him with his combat prowess.” Toshio would say and then both remained silent as they awaited word form the master healer on the young boy’s excited chance to learn something new.

Batto couldn’t suppress the little chuckle that escaped his lips in reaction to the boy’s enthusiasm. Considering that he had been raised alongside those that shared views with Nohkan, it was no surprise he saw the man as a role model. The Master had proven himself time and time again he was a capable warrior and although their opinions varied on many things, the strong warrior was one to be respected on multiple levels. Just because of the division amongst their people did not mean respect could not be shared between them. Perhaps one day in the future they would be a whole people again, Batto and Nohkan maybe then having a chance to practice and learn from one another.
“A new technique you say? Well you might have to inform me a little more about what it is you have already mastered? According to Toshio your awareness is coming along well, but battle sense is far from combat mastery. Dodging and evasion are only part of the equation. Tell me Dolin, what do you think would best round out your skills so that you can become a greater fighter?” Leaning forward slightly in his cross-legged position the older Namekian rests his elbows on his knees, head tilted up slightly to meet the boy’s eyes.
Batto was always willing to teach those that sought his guidance, but many came asking for techniques and power when they had yet to master the basics of combat and Ki use. The green man was easy going, of that there was no doubt, but that did not mean he fulfilled all wishes and demands of whomever came calling. A Master had responsibilities beyond passing down the sacred techniques of their clan; he was to pass on their morals and disciplines as well. The first test had already been started, how was the young Namekian going to answer the questions posed to him.

Both listened as watched as the prudent namekian sniggered and then spoke about the boy’s understanding thus far and asking what he already knew and wish to know, and to be specific about said things. Dolin grabbed his chin and thought, looking up to Toshio and then back down to the ground. “Remember what you studied young one and wisely think about what you wish to know but not necessarily learn. Power comes in many forms and does not always have to come in the way of techniques and physical force.” The elderly Toshio would say, smiling down at the hard-thinking namekian. Looking up at Toshio smiling, and then looking back at Batto, Dolin would speak.
“I’ve learned to control my ki to a degree, enough for me to withstand long periods of flight but not extend it outward into a damageable ball of force. I’ve been trained to watch rapid combat but cannot do so myself…Master Nohkan said I’m not ready for that just yet…and Master Toshio...he’s taught me knowledge of our ancestors and that patience can become one’s best tactic in a fight.” Taking a brief moment to pause and ponder some more he would speak again.
“What I want to learn…what I want to know…. is how to better support those that may be around me…As Toshio has said many times before, friendship can help with one’s struggle and through that helped struggle one can achieve victory, no matter if the battle itself is won. So..what I want...is to help be a better fighter… by helping make sure others better as well.” The namekian boy smiled, as did the elderly Master Katsuo. “My my, I think he’s starting to finally understand.” Nothing else would be said as the two awaited word from Master Batto.

"Helping others is a noble cause to be sure. However, many start down such a path only to stray from it. That choice is up to you of course." The older Namekian rising to his feet at the end of the statement, hands pressing to his knees as his legs unfold. Once up, standing roughly six feet tall, the healer dusts of what little dirt and pollen had attached itself to his pants. A minimalist in every sense of the word, Batto was also meticulous about keeping his single outfit clean. The world around them was full of uncontrollable events and others with their own free wills. An individual only had mastery over himself so he took it upon himself to maintain a proper image. Many that did not know him might mistake it for vanity, but that was not the case. Silently it was a lesson to all that met him, seek to control yourself instead of seeking to control others.
With a slight roll of his shoulders the Namekian motions for the pair to follow him, the rocky pinnacle not exactly the best spot to offer any training. The grass field below it on the other hand was far more suitable for such acts so that is where Batto chose to land. Shoed feet touching down among the long blades of blue weeds, he had expected them to follow, they had come seeking knowledge and he hoped they would not object to a change in positioning. With a cool breeze rolling across the hills surrounding them, he takes the few seconds required by them to descend to take in the lovely scent. Nature as a whole possessed its own odor, that natural mixture of all things living and not that surrounded them. Holding the breath in a moment he releases it as his companions touch down.
"Now you wish to help others. I have several techniques in mind that are designed specifically for that, however; the situation in which they might be used most commonly are those of combat. Before I offer to teach any of them to you, I would like to see how well you can help others with what you have learned so far." Left foot shifting back some, Batto takes a slightly sideways stance in relation to where the pair was standing. Arms folding behind the small of his back, his eyes look to them both. "Now come at me so that I may see the teamwork of a master and a pupil." Toshio had been helping train the young Dolin and Dolin had been learning from the visiting Master, but had he learned to apply the teachings? Fighting solo and with an ally were very different scenarios, it was time to see how well Dolin might adapt.

“Helping others is a noble cause to be sure. However, many start down such a path only to stray from it. That choice is up to you of course.”
Those words had more weight to them that most; as such a truer statement would be hard to come by. Each individual was accountable for their actions, whether they were swayed or acted on their own accordingly no one can physically force another to make those choices. Life was not easy and threw a lot more rocks than gave you lemons so one must use that time wisely. Toshio Katsuo, for the most part, had and it was now up to the young Dolin here to do the same. The life of a namekian may seem simple to most if they choose not the warrior path, however those of the namekian dragon clan did not hold a simple life either. Toshio had seen that during his time amongst the people of the old way.
To Toshio it seemed that Dolin took in the heavy words as well and with the Master Namekian getting up and beckoning them to follow, he could tell Dolin was still in deep thought by his facial expressions. A soft breeze blew by as the shoeless feet of Toshio touched the blue grassland and soon after the feet of Dolin as well, upon arriving they would listen, as the elder namekian would speak once more. “Now you wish to help others. I have several techniques in mind that are designed specifically for that, however; the situation in which they might be used most commonly are those of combat. Before I offer to teach any of them to you, I would like to see how well you can help others with what you have learned so far.”
Again taking in the words of the astute green humanoid, both Master Toshio and the young Dolin would notice the movement f both his arms and his left food. He seemed to be getting into a stance...for combat? “Now come at me so I may see the teamwork of a master and a pupil.” Yep, it was indeed a combative stance the words of the namekian make sure of that. Toshio smiled but the young Dolin was surprised and instead turned to Toshio and spoke. “But we haven’t fought togeth-” “I and Master Nohkan have taught you enough for this. Use that knowledge to feel out the teamwork.” Toshio would then look down at the young namekian, smiling. “I have faith you will do well.” Dolin smiled and nodded before looking back at Master Batto and getting into his own bellicose posture. A few seconds would pass as another gust of wind blew and as soon as it finished the sparring session would start.
“Go!” The quick word of Toshio sprung the young namekian forward first, Dolin rising in the air to offset the major difference in height as he closed in upon the taller opponent. Upon reaching him Dolin lashed out with a quick combination of left-right left punches toward the upper chest area of Batto. As the healer master dealt with that, Toshio would arrive on the scene and begin throwing a multitude of punches and kicks from the elder namekian’s right side. From what Toshio had gathered of Batto over the years, he knew that although he was of the healer clan, he was still no slouch when it came to tough physical combat and this spar would put any doubters who thought otherwise, to rest.

Arms still casually tucked behind his back, Batto makes no rush to engage the two of them. Allowing them the time they required, the Healing Master was close to eternally patient. Dolin, young and ultimately inexperienced when compared to the two that now stood with him, was hesitant to attack. Training sessions with those you knew close by were often the most comfortable forms of enhancing one’s strength. With familiarity came less stress and with less stress there was less fear. Dolin was no doubt smart enough to realize Batto would not cause him serious harm, his life not in danger in this coming combat. However, he was stronger and he was barely known to the younger green man so what he might do in combat was still a mystery. Luckily for the Namekian, he had a much more experienced fighter in his corner.
When Toshio gives the command, the young one attacked. In he came, headstrong and attacking quite straight on against his more powerful opponent. While Batto possessed more power than his foe he also wielded a far greater speed. Instead of blocking or counterattacking, the Master moves back with each punch, feet quickly shuffling across the grass to be just out of range of each strike. Through this his hands remained behind his back, the healer’s combat prowess not what to be on display this day. Teamwork was to be tested and Batto would keep his own offense to a minimum, especially since he currently outmatched both of his opponents.
The teamwork is what came into play next. From his right came Toshio, sending in his own combination of punches, adding in kicks as well to test the Namekian further. Now the Healer was forced to unfold his arms, moving to intercept the half-saiyan’s strikes. Swatting them aside the Namekian continues to step back diagonally from them, keeping the two coming forward until they would be getting in each other way. Pleased with their positioning he suddenly stops, planting his back foot as both arms shoot forward, palms aiming to slam into the two fighters and send backwards onto their rumps, enough power put into the strikes to most likely take them from their feet.

As Dolin ascended upon Batto, the more experienced namekian managed to dodge with ease as the punches of Dolin came forth. However when Toshio appeared and began his onslaught, the namekian had to brace for his intensity and started to block his attacks as opposed to just straight dodging like he did with Dolin a few seconds prior. This sustained for a few more seconds before the elder namekian decided to strike back, stopping and jutted his palms outward attempting to strike the closed in warrior’s together.
Both warriors were hit, as Dolin was pushed off his feet and pushed back through the air not having being skilled enough to correct and counterbalance his fall his butt skidded across the emerald grassy plains. Toshio on the other hand was able to flip backwards after the connected strike by Master Batto and instead slide back on his feet against the grassy plain. The two did however end up in the same spot adjacent to each other. “We have to better coordinate our teamwork…you remember the serpentine routine I told you about in my Yunzabit Heights exploration story back on Earth?” Toshio remarked to the young boy, getting up off the ground and getting into a fighting stance he would respond. “Yea…do you think I’m capable of performing that here? Without ever having tried it? I don’t even know zan-” Toshio smirked, and while looking ahead at Batto, spoke quick enough to cut Dolin off. “We don’t need to do that. This will be a simpler version. Besides…That’s what practice is for…and only one way to find out if you can do it. You have to attempt it. We can focus on the more advanced adaptation later, for now performing it in it’s simplicity will suffice.”
Dolin gulped before putting on a fierce and determined face. “Ok…let’s do it.” Toshio smiled and nodded. “Ok...I’ll lead it.” Not waiting another second Toshio would dash forward toward Batto, after two steps Dolin would burst after Toshio. The two would stay behind each other until abut five feet from Batto in which case Toshio would sidestep to the left and Dolin to the right. Another two steps to where they were almost in front of Batto, when suddenly both Toshio and Dolin disappeared. They would reappear on opposite sides close enough to Batto to start their attacks. This time they were more separated from each other, Dolin attacking Batto’s right side and Toshio attacking Batto’s left side.
As Toshio continued to bring both punches and kicks against Batto, Dolin would start to incorporate a kick every now and then, while still maintaining a dominant punching routine. The serpentine routine was a success. The routine dubbed the ‘serpentine’ for its zigzag motion toward the end, much like how a snake moved. The more complex version involved the use of Zanzoken but Toshio knew Dolin had not performed such a move, and Toshio had not done so in many years himself. So far, their teamwork was plausible.

Getting hit during combat was inevitable. A fighter might make it through several encounters without being touched, but eventually they were going to be struck. When that time came experience would determine how that blow was handled. Different fighting styles had various ways of handling it. The larger, bulkier fighter might just weather the hit and keep coming forward, using his size and strength to push through. On the other hand, the more agile combatant often rolled with the strike, minimizing the damage done and often using the momentum to enhance their own offense. One's reaction taking a hit had countless possible reactions and each gave insight into the individual enacting them.
When his palms struck the chest of both warriors, the experience gap between the two was quite clear. Dolin, young and resilient went flying backwards to land on his rump. A lower power level no doubt played a part, but his clumsy way of not rolling with the hit at all showed the inexperience of his youth. Toshio's reaction was what was expected of someone with as many years behind him. Perhaps in his younger days he would have taken the open palm differently, but whether from experience, old age or a combination of both, the man worked with the momentum to put himself alongside his partner. As the two gathered themselves, Batto made no type of advance, hands once more tucking behind the small of his back. This was the first time they had fought together against such a skilled opponent, best to let them think out their strategy.
When they did decide on how to continue, the Healer smiles as they rush in together, Dolin's frame all but disappearing behind Toshio as they ran forward. As they began to spread to the sides some, Batto shifts back into his stance just as they vanish. A moment later the team was upon him, each at the opposite side their advance had led the eye to believe was their preferred angle of attack. With the serpentine style strategy, the green man was forced to put in more effort this time. Both hands lifted from the small of his back, each going to fend off one of the two attacks. His legs also went to work, the one towards Toshio having to fend off more kicks than those occasionally thrown by the other Namekian.
"Excellent approach." And it was, much better than their straight forward attempt before. However, the timing of their strikes was similar, especially for Dolin who focused more on the punches he sent in. Between his blocking limbs and shifting body, they would again struggle to land a solid blow. The closest they would get was a fist or foot brushing through the Masters flapping clothes, but they were getting better.
With the pace of the match picking up a little, Batto suddenly drops down low, their next punches sailing over his head. Taking advantage of Dolin's weakness in terms of kicking, the Namekian places his hands on the ground and spins, looking to sweep the both of them. Often when working together with another, the weakness of one became the weakness of two. Perhaps though the experience of Toshio would allow him to maintain his assault even if Dolin was tripped up.

As master and pupil performed the serpentine move, it seemingly worked to perfection even gaining praise from the master healer. Well...at least the strategy worked. The immediate attack afterwards only made Batto work a little bit tougher at blocking. While mostly focused on his onslaught, Toshio managed to notice the young Dolin was not mixing up his attacks or timing very well. Something he would have to work on with him later. Of course, while Toshio’s attacks remain varied his pacing remained the same. It has been a while since I’ve had to push beyond my normal limit…it seems this spar will require me to push myself to that top limit. I only hope my body can hold up for that long…this was meant for more teamwork oriented that my individual training as well.
It wasn’t long before Batto went on the offensive once more, dropping low as Toshio’s and Dolin’s punches swerved over the empty air. Toshio had been in many battles and his body had grown old during that time, but so did his mind and the tactics one often used when fighting. As he missed with his one punch he jumped and lifted his legs so they nearly touched his butt, avoiding the would be sweep that the namekian was hoping for. Toshio just forgot to account for one thing…Dolin failed to check the sweep in time and was kicked in the side, forcing the small frail body of the namekian to slam into the side of Toshio knocking him off balance and thus deleting what would have been a good counter attack against the elder namekian.
As the young inexperienced namekian slammed into Toshio, the elder sage did his best to try and catch the little green humanoid. It a jumbled mess of an effort, the catch was partially successful Toshio having crashed to the ground on his rump but managing to keep the boy upright. The young namekian simply hung his head down “Sorry…” Toshio would speak while getting up off the ground. “You have to learn to react to the offensive counter moves that often come in a battle. You also have to mix up your strikes more and even your pacing to try and throw the opponent off guard.” Toshio, now standing up, held his arms out to the side and spoke again to Dolin. “We’re not making much of a dent in terms of actually successfully striking Batto…so I’m going to crank it up a notch. Hopefully my more sustained full power will provide either of us an opportunity to do just that.”
With that said Toshio’s pearl white aura surrounded him as he started to power up, his power level rising as he yelled out. After about forty seconds, his power level would top out at 52,000 two thousand more than that of the elder namekian in front of him. As his aura stopped flaring around him, anyone could tell that his muscles had bulged out slightly more but aside from that everything else about his appearance remained unchanged. Grinning the elderly half-saiyan spoke to Dolin once again. “Ok, you remember the fictional story about the giant and dwarf I told you bout as they battled the evil rock golem? The strategy they used to defeat the golem, that’s what I want to try.” The young namekian thought for a second before smiling as he now remembered it. “Yeaaa. What did they call that move? I can’t seem to recall it.” Toshio grinned. “They didn’t…it was an on-the-fly move. But I thought of something for it.” “What?” “Heh…standing shoulder.” Dolin turned toward Batto and smiled. “Not bad…” “Ok...This actually requires me to lead so…let’s go!”
Toshio charged forward now at his full power, even though he had not used his full power in quite some time he felt as youthful as ever with it. Probably because of his saiyan blood and the many years in which he did fight at full power. Dolin would charge in after Toshio, mimicking his movement behind the senior Toshio as he did his best to hide his body much like he did when they tried the serpentine strategy. When they both got five feet of Batto, Dolin jumped up into the air and then onto the shoulders of Mr.Katsuo, The young namekian didn’t stay there long as just before Toshio would start his barrage of strikes against Batto he would jump off his shoulders and over the head of Batto before attempting to strike the backside of Batto. As both Toshio and Dolin expected that Toshio’s powered up state would be enough to push back Batto, Dolin would pace his self accordingly as to not be smashed by the back of Batto as he was hopefully pushed back by the frontal assault of Toshio. This time around however, both the young Dolin as well as Toshio would incorporate different punches and kicks as well as different timing between these attacks, hoping to finally land some blows against the well guarding elder namekian.

Sending his leg around was partially successful, the older and more experienced fighter able to lift his legs up quickly enough to dodge it while the younger Dolin had his stance ruined. Luckily, luck often a factor in many fights regardless of who the combatants were, was on Batto’s side in this case. Off balance from having his legs struck. The sudden shift in his own body weight sent him falling into his would be partner, the older fighter no longer able to keep up his attack as he made a move to catch the boy and keep him from dropping to the ground. For his efforts Toshio ended up on his rump, bracing the younger green man before him. Fighting together had its advantages and its disadvantages, it all came down to how you used them. So far the duo had done well, but if they were going to truly challenge the Namekian healer than they were going to have to step it up a notch.
As if understanding exactly what the Master was thinking, Toshio unleashed his full power. Considering how aged the man was, his body did well to react to the increase in Ki. Muscles bulged and his durability rose with the sudden increase, an aura bursting to life around him. It was time to be serious now, it? If Batto had been an individual with a more competitive streak he might have unleashed more of his own power. However, that was not the point of all this. In a session such as this, one aimed at providing knowledge instead of proving who is the better, winning was far from important. A victory was a fleeting thing, only one instant in time, but a lesson…a lesson was something that would exist for all eternity.
Again they come forward with the serpentine, Dolin’s body even harder to see when they crossed thanks to Toshio’s larger body mass. Arms unfolding from behind his back, where they had dropped back to again, he prepares for a similar assault like before, but he was in for a bit of a surprise. Dolin hopped up onto the older fighter’s shoulders, hopping into the air as Toshio began to send in his strikes. Forced to focus on the now evenly matched half-saiyan, he brings up his arms to block the incoming attacks, legs lifting to block any of the lowly aimed kicks. What he could not block though was the strikes coming towards his backside.
Several blows struck him in the back, the strikes weaker than what he was blocking on the front side, but still landing solidly regardless. Pressed more than at any other part in this session, Batto is forced to execute more than physical strikes. With Toshio pushing him back slightly already, the Namekian jumps backwards, his body looking to slam right into the younger Namekian’s. If successful and the sudden lunge backwards separated him from the stronger fighter on his front flank, Batto’s right hand shoots forwards. From his three extended fingers three golden rings shoot forward, looking to wrap themselves around Toshio and bind him. Securing the stronger of the two would definitely give him the advantage once more.

As Toshio and Dolin launched their joint effort attack against the senior namekian, it finally succeeded in gaining the advantage over the master healer. Toshio having powered up to his full power certainly helped as it forced the older namekian to focus more on him and thus not able to effectively react to their standing shoulder move which put Dolin in the right spot to finally land some un-blocked non-dodged blows against the adult namekian. Even thought they were not powerful blows, they still were successful ones. As Toshio continued to push back Batto and Dolin maintained his strikes from behind, their teamwork was going well.
That is until Master Batto went on the offensive once more, the namekian jumped backwards and intended to break the attack of Dolin. To Toshio’s surprise the young namekian managed to roll away by spinning away from the backwards leap, avoiding getting knocked back down. Even though it did knock him from his striking position, Toshio was pleased to see the young Dolin respond well defensively. Of course what happened to Toshio would not turn out so well as three golden rings shot out from the namekian’s fingers. Toshio jumped into the air to try and avoid the rings, he managed to avoid one but the other two were too close and thus managed to trap him, lowering quickly from above the two rings entrapped him constructing his arms and upper thighs tightly.
Landing back on the Ground Toshio looked down at the golden rings that entrapped him. “Well then...that’s new…” His eyes watched as Dolin rebounded back to him and stood beside him, smiling as he looked at the trapped elder sage. Deepening his voice like that of Toshio’s Dolin would mock the master. “You have to learn to react to the offensive counter moves that often come in a battle." Toshio glared at the little green humanoid. “Ha-ha-ha cut it out. I never said one had to be perfect with such reactions…” Becoming serious now the young namekian would speak once more. “So what’s the plan now…” “Well first…HAAAAAA” Toshio would struggle against the rings, doing his best to try and break their hold. About ten seconds would pass before the half-saiyan was able to break free of their grip, his arms bursting and dissipating the ki ring that had held him down.Taking hold of the ki ring that constricted his hips he would use his strength and power to break that rig as well. Toshio would then crack his neck and knuckles before looking back to Dolin. “Ok…It’s time we incorporate ki attacks as well. Hand to hand combat is all well enough but there are times when that is not enough and you need something more powerful in the fight. But…tactics… always good to have both, with or without energy attacks. Now Hmm” Toshio would close his eyes and form a small ‘O’ shape with his hands. Toshio was thinking. Thinking of a ploy they could use in conjunction with ki attacks. Dolin was young and not very versed when it came to using ki, and Toshio was old, he could already feel the tiredness of his body being at full power for such an extended period in part due to his age as well as not having trained in it in quite a while. A full minute would pass before Toshio opened his eyes and smiled at Dolin. “I’ve got it. Now come here and I’ll relay it.” Toshio and Dolin then huddled their heads together as Toshio would begin to divulge the plan.Another minute would pass before the two leaned out from their small huddle and looked toward Batto, who was waiting patiently for them to come up with and divulge tactics. “Ok...you ready?” Toshio spoke, still looking at Batto but speaking to Dolin. “hmmh” Dolin said nodding. “Alright then…” Toshio said while getting in front of Dolin to hide the young namekian. After getting into the same formation once again Toshio would dash forward and put his hands to the side as he did so, forming yellow stationary energy in his hands. About five feet from Batto he would jut his hands...downward! Unleashing the energy wave into the ground in front of him, it did not explode but pushed Toshio into the air. This did not take long and as soon as Toshio blasted off into (Space hehehe) the air, Dolin would be shooting out multiple small ki balls at the elder namekian, and also managing to keep his distance from Batto. Toshio had served as the distraction while Dolin was the true attacker. Of course once Toshio was in the air high enough, he too would rain down similar sized energy blasts
