It was true that Celeh had only recently been appointed to her new post as representative of the Saiyan race in the Galactic Tournament and bodyguard to the Princess, but she has already put a lot of thought into her new job. Among her thoughts are some serious concerns about the tournament itself. She is uncertain as to how to go about explaining them to the King and Queen, as she fears they may take her concerns as insults to the warrior pride of their children or as threats to their children in some cases. Still, she cannot sit by and let these words go unspoken, and so against her better judgment she had requested an audience with their majesties so that she may make her stance on the ordeal very clear. She waited outside their chambers until the guards at the door to the throne room gave her clearance to enter when the King and Queen were ready to see her.
Celeh entered slowly, wearing the armor that the Queen had requested when they first gave her the position as Akassa's bodyguard. She knelt down in front of the two Saiyan rulers and put her fist to her chest, saluting them as was customary. She waited for the King to give her permission to rise and speak before doing anything else. She had a lot on her mind, and it was clear from her expression that she was uncertain of herself. Given that the last time she'd been before them the soldier had been practically expressionless and simply accepted their orders without hesitation this would be a stark change from her previous demeanor in their presence.
"Thank you for seeing me on such short notice, your majesties. I've done quite a bit of thinking since our last meeting and I have some concerns that I feel only you could properly put to rest. First and foremost in my mind is the safety of your lineage. What do we know about the one holding the tournament? I believe you, yourself said that you knew nothing about him save for his name, my King. Prince Ninjin, Prince Leke, and Princess Akassa are no doubt some of the Saiyan Military's finest warriors, but I have an uneasy feeling that this tournament isn't just for fighters to prove their mettle. What reason would someone possibly have for drawing a large number of people to a part of the galaxy that was previously thought to be...unsavory at best?" It was very true that Celeh was a soldier first, but when you weren't always the strongest around you had to learn how to talk the talk to get yourself out of tough spots when your fighting prowess couldn't. After all, a Saiyan is only a coward if they run from a fight. Preventing a fight from starting isn't cowardly if no one else picks up on it, and getting called out on your smooth talk is automatic grounds for a brawl to start. Only those who had a real silver tongue could get out of battles they couldn't win without being caught. Celeh hadn't mastered the art of conversation, but she was no amateur. She wasn't trying to deceive the King and Queen either, so her words would ring true. She did have much more to discuss with them, though.

Natisha and Tsuyo had waited to for Celeh for several minutes before she was let into the royal hall. She waited to be addressed in order for her to begin to speak which Tsuyo gave her permission with a quick wave of his hand. She proceeded to say her piece on why she was highly concerned about the upcoming tournament and the safety of his offspring being on Omega. Technically all were legitimate concerns but he knew why she had truly been assigned as a body guard to Akassa. And the safety of his children was not the main reason. He did not fear for his children as they were strong enough to handle each other.
“Celeh all of these are legitimate concerns but you will not have to fear for my children’s safety. If they are weak enough to fall to some unknown force on Omega than they are not worthy of being called a Hattori. Hattori are some of the strongest in the universe we fall to no one.” Tsuyo boasted proudly. He gave Natisha a kiss on the cheek, a rare show of public affection in front of people outside of the royal family, before turning away. “I will talk to you later, my dear.” Tsuyo called as he exited out of the throne room leaving Natisha and Celeh.
Natisha turned to the Celeh and placed her hand on her shoulder. Her hand massaged over the armor before smiling at her. “Celeh please follow me I will truly explain what your duty is as ‘bodyguard’ for my half breed of a daughter,” Natisha spit the words as she began walking towards the hall of past kings.

To Celeh's surprise, the King and Queen did not seem to have any issues with the soldier's concerns. In fact they seemed to be of the mind that if their children couldn't handle themselves that they didn't deserve to be royals. She wondered if the children thought in a similar manner, but she wouldn't know that for sure until she saw them in the right situations for it to matter. For now she just nodded to the two rulers of her people and gave a relieved sigh, "Very well then, your majesties." The soldier did have another pressing concern, but it was much more personal and was probably best kept to herself. After the response the king gave he suspected that the King and Queen would merely laugh at her if she mentioned her other pressing matter that lingered in her mind.
As the Queen laid a hand on her shoulder, Celeh was surprised. She didn't speak, though, as the Queen was still talking. Instead she just turned and began to follow her. After hearing that last sentence about the real purpose of her duty as a bodyguard, Celeh began to wonder if her real purpose was something far more politically minded rather than as an actual bodyguard. After all, Akassa was stronger than her. Unless the Princess constantly got into fights she couldn't win, Celeh wouldn't have much work to do unless Akassa decided to use her more as a mercenary rather than a bodyguard, just sending her to fight the battles that Akassa didn't want to or didn't deem worthy for herself.
"You have my ear, your majesty. What is it that you want me to do specifically?"

“Good. I would hope so Celeh.” Natisha said as she led the low class Saiyan out of the throne room and into the corridor just adjacent to it. Guards instantly snapped to attention and began to follow but Natisha wanted none of it. She turned to them with a hard stare, “Your presence will not be needed on this little stroll of ours.” The guard stopped mid step as he hesitated whether or not he actually wanted to obey the Queen or to follow his duty that he was charged with by his superiors. After another quick glance at the Queen it became painfully clear who was going to win this mental chess match. The guard marched back to his post somewhat defeated as the Queen continue her little stroll with Celeh.
“You see my dear. I have charged you with a duty that I believe that you are superbly skilled for. I have heard from the Generals who spoke to their subordinates that spoke to their subordinates etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. Needless to say they assure me that you are exactly the person I need to help me out.” Natisha patronized. The Queen was unsure if this tactic was going to work or not but she was not lying. She had in fact talked through the chain of command in order to find the perfect Saiyan warrior that would fulfill her requests without question.
“You see my dear what we are asking you to do is ‘protect’ Akassa from any danger she may get into,” The very name of her husband’s half breed bastard was enough to cause her face to grimace. After a hard swallow at the fact that her husband even kept her around she continued on. “In order to ‘protect’ Akassa you must keep me informed on what she is doing periodically with thorough reports. You see I must make sure that my family is protected so indirectly by making sure that Akassa stays out of trouble you are also protecting every Hattori. You are protecting my beloved Ninjin and Leke.” Natisha stated emphatically. She waited a moment before speaking again.
“Do we have an understanding Celeh?” Natisha asked with a knowing smile.

Celeh wasn't sure what to think about the way the Queen stared down the guard like that, but she thought it probably in the guard's best interests to not test the will of the Queen like that. She didn't seem like the type to take any sass from her subordinates. Celeh was doing her best to keep from drawing a rise from the Queen as it was right now. She followed her majesty and listened intently to what the Queen had to say. It surprised Celeh that the soldier had somehow garnered a reputation amongst her superiors, though she couldn't tell just what kind of reputation the Queen was implying. Still, she would wait to ask that until the end. As the Queen continued it became more and more clear that Celeh was less of a bodyguard and more of 'honor insurance'. That is to say, the Queen thought Akassa more of a liability and a risk to the crown than an asset, and so she wanted Celeh there to keep an eye on her, give reports as to her actions, and to keep her from endangering herself or the other royals. Truth be told Celeh didn't know if she could stop Akassa outright if the Princess was very dead set on doing something, but if it came to that and the situation called for it then Celeh would at least try to perform her duty.
The Queen's last question made Celeh smirk and she gave a curt nod, "I will do as you ask and keep an eye on Akassa with periodic reports on her activities. If need be I will even step in to ensure she does not become too reckless and potentially endanger the entire royal family. But I am curious to ask, what sort of reputation have I earned myself that would my name reach your ears? Do not misunderstand...I do have my pride, and a great deal of it. But it's generally unheard of for those born into the rabble like myself to work under those of royal blood. I am greatful for the opportunity either way." She did not intend to sound as though she were questioning the Queen's decision or wisdom in making this choice. It all just seemed very...odd...that Celeh would be chosen of all people. It was very likely that she was the only soldier of low blood that could even compete with the power that the children of the crown held, though.

Natisha had Celeh in the exact position she wanted. She whole heartedly agreed to report back to her on the half breed mutt that her husband had bothered to bring back from Earth. The Queen could remember it as if it happened ten minutes ago. She stood waiting in their bed chamber, a young Saiyan woman ready to please her lord, she was ready to give him the heir he so desired. It had been months since he had gone his mission and she longed for his touch. Then through the doors with a parcel in his hands the Saiyan king came. Natisha did not know what it was at first and then it cried out. Her face dropped and her stomach turned in knots. He explained what had happened and that despite the tail, Akassa, the child was not a legitimate heir. Rather Tsuyo had been seduced by a whore of a human woman, and given him the mutt that sat in his hands. Instantly Natisha demanded the child’s death and a war of words erupted which was only exacerbated by the infants cries. Tsuyo in the end refused to have the child killed due to the fact of some form of family bond that to this day she never understood.
Natisha was ready to end the conversation when Celeh asked how she had been found out about. In truth she had the Generals reach out to their subordinates in an effort to find capable soldiers that were strong willed in a manner of speaking. Both would be necessary when it came to watching Akassa and potentially even putting her down if it came to it. The mutt was never to get anywhere close to the throne and the day she did it would be over Natisha’s dead body. “My dear, it was a process to find someone with the proper resume in order fulfills this job. The reputation you earned was that you were strong willed at times, came from a decently strong lower class family and exude pride for the crown. It went through the channels that you were the perfect fit for the job I needed done.” Natisha answered. Hopefully that would be enough for the lower class Saiyan because if pushed Natisha would just lie to her and that was more work than it deserved.

Celeh had never had the impression that the Saiyan Military was that efficient that they could hand pick someone from the countless rabble to do a job as specific as being a royal bodyguard, but it was not her place to question the validity of the choice. In truth she couldn't have been happier with this opportunity. But she kept that bit to herself and nodded in understanding to the queen. When her majesty finished that explanation Celeh decided to ask another question since the Queen seemed to have nothing else to say to her directly, "I do have one more thing to ask, your highness. Please do not misunderstand, as I mean no disrespect, but do you know the difference between a Warrior and a Soldier as far as Saiyans are concerned?" She wasn't being sarcastic or trying to upset the Queen. Celeh genuinely wanted to know if she understood the difference between the two and what they meant. It was a well known fact that Saiyans loved to fight and that they live for battle. Their pride as a proud race of warrior people was known throughout the galaxy.
But Celeh knew first hand what separated Saiyan Soldiers from Saiyan Warriors. It wasn't a simple matter of discipline, but rather a complete reconfiguring and redirection of their warrior pride. Warriors fight for their own pride and glory, and they will put all else above that if the reward is great enough. Soldiers, on the other hand, have honor as opposed to pride. They are ruthless in battle, as most Saiyans are, but they are methodical, disciplined, and most importantly they are dedicated to a cause greater than themselves. Every Saiyan soldier, as few as true soldiers were in the Saiyan military, would fight and die to protect and maintain the crown and the Royal bloodline. But every bloodline has weak links and strong ones. Should the crown sit on the head of a weak link, the military will either remove them or abandon them in favor of a more fitting heir.

Celeh was definitely cunning in the question. It was solely designed to figure out where her philosophical views fell on how she viewed. The truth of the matter was she couldn’t care less about the lesser beings of the kingdom as long as they served the crown well enough that her husband did not have to get in the middle of any altercations. She cleared her throat and then spoke, “A warrior is a savage creature that lives for battle. They thrive in the chaos and blood of their enemies. They are often times weak of mental capacity and hyped up on hormones. They are useful to have in an arsenal but are as much liabilities as they are assets.” The queen spat as she thought of several famous Saiyan warriors in the past generation.
“Soldiers on the other hand are the pride of an empire. They are regimented, disciplined and are some of the sharpest minds in the empire. They understand tactics, the need to achieve objectives and follow orders to the letter. One soldier is worth three warriors in wars as there is never a question as to their actions; they serve the crown and the royal family. Loyal to a fault and receive orders.” The queen spoke with high praise flicking off of the annunciation. “For example Akassa is more along the lines of a warrior. She possesses strength but is weak minded, fails to follow orders and no doubt her loyalty is to herself. Meanwhile Ninjin, the rightful heir to the throne, is the definition of a true soldier. Intelligent, commands respect, knows how to lead and is well worth three of his sister in any battle.” Natisha sang as she imagined one day seeing her son sitting upon the throne. “Does that answer your question?”

The Queen's response was confusing for Celeh. On one hand she did understand fully the point that Celeh was getting across by asking the question, but on the other she seemed to have very twisted views of what her children were capable of. Or at least what Akassa was capable of. Ninjin's loyalty wasn't in question from the soldier at all. Though he seemed very full of himself, she'd heard nothing of the Prince but his respect and dedication to the crown and his future position. That was to be expected. But Akassa seemed to have just as much loyalty to the crown as Celeh herself as far as she could tell. Still, the soldier did not disagree with the queen for sake of keeping relations with her smooth and direct, "That is exactly the answer I was hoping for you to give, your Majesty. There is, without a doubt, a great deal of difference between a soldier and a warrior. Discipline and where their loyalties lie are those defining differences to be certain."
Celeh paused for a moment to take a breath and then spoke again, "Now that we both fully understand the terms of our agreement I have nothing else to add, unless you do, my Queen. I feel our conversation has been most informative." Celeh gave a smile to her majesty and awaited to be dismissed so that she could salute and then be on her way. In the back of her mind she wondered if the Queen would deem her as a warrior or a soldier by the time their agreement came to a close. Retainers generally only lost their jobs when they died, betrayed the crown, or were given a dishonorable discharge from their position. But Celeh had no intention of doing any of those three. She intended to protect the Saiyan crown for all of her days. However she had no intention of following all the rules in doing so, and she certainly would not live her life beneath someone else's boot. The royals may have been content to accept the fate they were given. And why wouldn't they? They were at the top from the start. Celeh had started at the bottom, with nothing to climb up the ladder save for her own force of will. She made up her mind long ago...she would not be confined to the fate of an expendable low class soldier. She would become something more or die trying...

Celeh had proven to be smarter than she appeared due to her reaction to the Queen. Natisha had been in politics for a very long time seeing as how her family was highborn which eventually turned into royalty with her marriage to Tsuyo. During her entire time in politics she learned to read people’s eyes, where their intentions truly lie, to an exponential level. Celeh doubted the Queen’s explanation. She was not sure if it was because of the comparisons regarding her son to the mutt or if she had something else in mind. In either case as long as Celeh proved useful and continued to provide information as to Akassa’s movement regularly then she would allow her to live.
“I agree Celeh. I feel that our conversation has been very informative.” Natisha said as she stopped walking and turned to look at the young soldier in the eye to drive home her next statement. “Remember to report regularly on that mutt of a Saiyan’s movements. I want to know if she is colluding with possible enemies to the crown. You are standing between that stain on the Hattori line and her intentions to oust the king from the throne.” Natisha had no proof of such a claim but if Celeh was truly a soldier than she would keep a keen eye on Akassa. Natisha patted Celeh on the shoulder and then began to walk away.
“Celeh I know I do not have to tell you but if you fail consider your service in the military over,” Natisha yelled without turning back. “And your life terminated.” She added as she rounded the corner leaving the soldier alone in the corridor. The Queen was done with her and now her plan began to move forward. She would find some way of eliminating Akassa whether it be through convential means with imprisonment or more lethal methods.

Celeh didn't need to hear or say anything else after Natisha's quip about Akassa potentially trying to oust the king from his throne and take it for herself. Having fought Akassa earlier on, Celeh had no reason to believe that Akassa was that reckless or that foolish as to attempt such a thing. You could tell a lot about someone from fighting them. Even in a simple sparring match there was a lot to be gleaned about a fighter's intentions, feelings, and mannerisms. Celeh kept silent and her face was blank. She merely nodded in understanding to the Queen as the woman patted the soldiers shoulder and walked passed her.
The next part of what Natisha said was something that re-established the idea in Celeh's mind that the Queen was not to be trusted. She may have the best interests of her family at heart, but she did not serve the crown. She only seemed to want the pride of having a child born from her own bloodline on the throne rather than simply having one born from the king's bloodline. That being said, Celeh was not in a position to make judgments as to which of the Hattori children was worthy of that honor, and the King himself had chosen Ninjin as the successor since he was the first born son and a legitimate heir.
Celeh stood there in the hallway after Natisha had left and a determined smile spread across her face as the final words of the Queen rang out in her head. So that was it. She hadn't been picked because she was strong, skilled, or known for successful missions. She was picked because she had a history of taking orders extremely well and the fact that she could take a beating far worse than others at her level and keep standing back up. Persistence and obedience. She may as well not even be a soldier any more at this point. She was more like an intelligent watch dog as far as the Queen seemed to be concerned. That did make up Celeh's mind for her on one thing. She wouldn't put up with being looked down upon by anyone any more. Being used like this by the Royal family, people who were supposed to be honorable and respectable to a fault...it had tarnished her view of the royals as a whole. She didn't want to believe that something so selfish could be part of something so great...something that was thought to be the pillar of strength for the Saiyan people.
Celeh decided at that moment that, in time, and when the opportunity arose...she would find a way to change her destiny of unending subservience and servitude. She had to forge her own path and taking orders for the rest of her life wasn't something she was willing to do. She was tired of being used and tossed aside when they were done with her. Especially in something as deceptive as this.
