The roar of the crowd shook the coliseum as everything was getting started for this galactic tournament, the first fight would soon be here. Introduction were being made for the event that would likely shake the world to its core, or well the universe, as fighters from all around would go at it for the right to declare themselves the strongest. The one putting everything together was talking to the crowd about what was going to be happening, not that it was entirely too hard to figure out for oneself. It was nothing that he needed to hear anyways, so while everyone else was listening to the guy talk, Conri was listening to music instead. His foot tapping to the beat as he waited for the announcement of his first prelim fight, which was decided rather soon against his opponent Izayoi.
Walking into the ring Conri clasped his hands together behind his head and simply waited for his opponent to get on stage as well. He was fighting a human from earth this round, which was somewhat amusing to the half-Saiyan, but for reasons unknown even to himself. What was really interesting is that the human seemed to be talking to him the entire time they were standing across from each other. By the expression on his face it was something serious and should probably be listened to, but he was currently listening to one of his favorite songs. He’d wait until the song was over and then ask what was said so that he could listen to the whole thing or so he was thinking. As the song went on this Izayoi person just wouldn’t stop talking, he spoke for the entire length of the song thus far. It would have been interesting to know just what all he was talking about right now, such a shame.
“You know, it looks like what you’re saying is important, but I haven’t heard a word you said, gimme a couple of minutes and I can give you my undivided attention,” might as well let him know that right now there was nothing being heard. He thought it was a bit rude to just let him keep going, despite that he had been for a few minutes already. Conri never understood how people could have a one-sided conversation for that long, maybe he had been looking for the half-Saiyan or something? Not that he knew of anyone that would be looking for him in the middle of a tournament, before or after? Sure. During though was just all sorts of awkward though, especially if it was for anything other than fighting as that kind of defeated the purpose. It seemed there was a bit of an angry reaction to his admittance of not listening to what his opponent was saying which was expected. Although the fact that he decided to just start attacking was a bit of a surprise twist to the events, especially considering that the sword he had been holding just reached across and cut Conri on the cheek.
“Interesting little toy you have there, so I guess you don’t feel like waiting to say all that stuff again, that works for me,” there was nothing further to be said then as the fight was on. The best part was that there was now no need for him to take out the ear buds to hear what this guy had to say. Another song was coming on so he figured it was time for him to start getting into the swing of things himself, maybe give the audience a good show. Already with his power suppressed to half of what it actually was, he let his opponent think that he was the stronger of the two and would let him keep thinking that. Hopping around a bit he tried to adjust himself to go at a bit of a relaxed pace and not make it seem like it was an easy fight for him. Easier said than done really, but it would be good practice for the future as well.
Another whip of that sword came flying toward him, but it was odd, they were coming in waves of singular attacks. Was he being underestimated a bit too much then in regards to his abilities to deal with a ranged attack? Or was this a test of his capabilities as a whole to truly see who was the stronger of the two, either way it only spurred the next course of action. His hand reached up to grab right behind the head of the blade, where it was most likely the safest given the cord it was attached to in order to stretch. Unfortunately it had been setup as a trap for him and suddenly a burst of electricity was being sent down the cord to electrocute the half-Saiyan. The ear buds shorted out leaving him without any music to listen to now unless he wanted to let everyone else listen as well, which wasn’t necessarily a bad thing either. “Well, you’ve got my attention now, do you have any ideas of what you are going to do now? I do hope you have plans to keep me entertained after all this nonsense.”
The man replied to his comment this time, “Well, I figure picking up where we left off seven years ago would keep you entertained.”
Suddenly it was starting to click together, the name and the face, they had met all those years ago when he’d been on that job. Laughter was the first reaction to come from the Conri, something that was probably an unwanted reaction as well. Another person involved with the incident from seven years ago, could none of them leave him the hell alone? After the shit that went down, he had thought he’d made it clear that he wanted to have nothing to do with them ever again, but no they all started coming out of the wood work.
“I’m here to take everything you have left and make sure you become a good little soldier,” a smirk crossed the human’s face as he spoke. It was a bit too smug for the situation, but he supposed this dips hit wouldn’t know too much about that anyways.
“Well, I hate to break it to ya, but I’ve got nothing’ left for anyone to take other than an ass-kicking anyways,” there was no more joking tone to his voice like there had been previously. Now that he knew who this prick was, he wasn’t going to be going easy on him anymore, in fact he wasn’t going to be going full force the next exchange. Setting his feet a shoulder’s width apart, he began to increase his power to its uppermost limits which was quite a good deal higher than it had been before this tournament. It added that little bit of extra something to his determination and bringing about people that pissed him off didn’t hurt either.
“Tell you what, you have five seconds to run away before I start to wreck your face,” he crossed his arms, holding up five fingers to show that he was being serious about the countdown. Izayoi would have only that much time to surrender, afterward Conri had no intention of letting him do so in the match and he wouldn’t let the bastard fall unconscious either. Oh no, he had plans to let everyone see what he did to those that pushed his buttons too much and imprint just how not nice of a person he could become.
“Five,” the count began without any head start for his opponent.
“I hope you aren’t thinking that ploy is going to scar--”
“Four,” Conri interrupted before Izayoi could even finish his sentence, so many people were underestimating his capabilities. It was time to show them that he could back up his words with actions as well, there was only so much he would take from Satsuma and his goons. The only thing Izayoi could be thankful for was that the tournament had a no killing rule, he was pretty sure and that was the only thing keeping Conri from crossing that line. The fact that everyone was making so little of it especially pissed him off, they all thought it was nothing important.
“Three. This is usually the time you should start seriously considering running the hell away,” another warning, it was time for the hunt to begin soon. No more mercy, no more being nice, and no more letting others think that he was going to forgive them for their sins that day. The counting was having an amusing effect on his opponent though, watching as the man squirmed about as if trying to decide what he should do before the count finishes. The fool thought he had a chance that was the reason he wasn’t running away, but little did he know the true depths of the half-Saiyan’s power.
The proof came a few seconds later as Izayoi not only sent the whip at him once more, wrapping his forearm with the cable of the weapon. A surge of electricity flowing down to shock the person on the other side in an attempt to get the drop on him before anything could happen. The attack hurt a bit, but he was using his psychokinetic powers to create a thin barrier between him and the cord, it blocked most of the attack. Not that he needed it, it was more for the next part of this, that just wouldn’t look as cool without the right special effects in place.
“Two” the attack didn’t even do much damage, but the next part was more psychologically damaging than anything else. The sword whip was thrown from his arm with the blade sticking into the arena floor, making it nearly impossible for it to retract. Now the weapon was stuck and there wasn’t much the human could do to attack with the weapon he was trained in, but that wasn’t his problem. It was why Conri never limited himself on what he learned, if he could learn from all the masters around as well, that would be even better.
“Whelp time’s up little Izayoi, time for me to start bringing the pain back to you,” closing the gap in an instant his fist collided with the human’s face launching him backwards towards the shield that surrounded the arena. Unfortunately, there would be no out of bounds for him as Conri grabbed him with psychokinetic energy and forcefully yanked him back. His shoulder there to meet him and slam the back of his head into the floor with an echoing cracking sound, it was probably far more sickening of a sound to the audience right now.
Tying the hilt of the sword around the legs of Izayoi, he made his own makeshift tether ball stand, of course it wasn’t perfect but hey. Lifting the downed fighter he held him steady before slamming his right arm into his chin with an uppercut, the force sending him about five feet into the air. Enough for the plan to unfold, because when Izayoi’s body fell once more he would be greeted with a full powered Masenko that launched him well out of the boundaries of the shield. The final step was Conri grabbing the cord that connected the sword and yanking it down with all his strength to turn his opponent’s body into a force of its own destruction. His body slammed against the arena floor and caused a small crater to form as he bounced once before coming to a complete stop.
Leaning over to his now defeated opponent, the half-Saiyan whispered so just the two of them would know what was said, “Be glad that you met me inside the arena, anyone I meet outside won’t be as lucky as you.” With that Izayoi fell unconscious with a stretcher coming to take him away, and Conri was declared the victor of this bout.
