It was down to four fighters and two days before the year was to end. The tournament had been set up so that the Championship match would fall on the eve of the New Year. All over Alpha Prime different decorations were being set up, everything from streamers to neon signs. Prometheus wanted everyone to be aware that the scheduling of the tournament had not been an accident and that the New Year would be ushered in by the cheers of ecstatic fans.
At the moment though it was still a full day off, the second to last round set to happen next. The quarter finals had been a site to see, two upsets having shocked and amazed the crowd. Zex himself had been surprised when the powerful Icejin known as Snow was defeated and even more surprised when the incredibly resilient Ninjin Hattori had lost due to a ring out. Still it had been a great show for all, the surprising victories only adding to the excitement of the event. The Saiyan named Celeh and the Makaio known as Azazel had also lost as well, the only two females that had survived this far into the tournament.
Like always Prometheus Zex watched from his personal viewing box high above the stadium. The tournament bracket flashed on the main display screen the remaining players names still glowing while the rest had all be grayed out.

The mix of combatants that was left was not what the Lord of Alpha Prime had originally expected. Sure he had expected to see an Icejin or two left for they were quite powerful creatures capable of nasty transformations. Zex had plenty of experience with their Lord, Arcitic so he had become quite educated on the race. The half-saiyan, for that is what Zex’s sources had told him, was a little surprising since three members of the Hattori family had joined. Prometheus was sure the Saiyan Prince was going to advance and possibly even win the whole thing.
Banduk Gundu, the only Namekian to join the tournament had represented his race well, handling all of his opponents deftly and despite his young age proven he was quite the warrior. Personally though, Zex did not see him overcoming the powerful Icejin he was about to face, but perhaps the Namekian had a couple more surprised up his sleeve. As for the strange alien, Truffle the usually all knowing Lord of Alpha Prime found himself at a bit of a loss. The creature was large, blue, fluffy and quite powerful so it was anyone’s guess as to how its next fight would unfold.
Leaning on the railing as he looks down towards the arena floor the announcer was stepping into the center of the platform, starting his announcement that the Semifinal round was about to begin, otherwise known as the Quadfecta:Those That Remain.
